Hello Friends! I managed to finish another chapter! Yay! Anyways, this one was annoying to write purely because I suck at world building apparently. But at least I tried? Anyways here it is!

Warnings at end of chapter

Beehive, New World

I stood there frozen as the other people continued to circulate around the room, chatting politely as if the jolly roger of the King of The Pirates wasn't on display. As if the jolly roger of the King of The Pirates wasn't about to be sold. I didn't move as people started to glance at me in annoyance for blocking the walkway as I stared at the tattered piece of cloth.

How did they even- where did they-

How dare they attempt to profit off my father's crew.

I blinked and whipped my head to the side as someone waved their hand in front of my face. Turning I saw Yasopp looking at me slightly worried as he said, "You alright Ads? What are you staring at?"

Without a word I raised my hand to point at the flag across the room. Yasopp turned to look and stiffened as well. After a minute he said, "Well that's going to be a problem."

A "problem"? He thinks it is just a "problem"?

I felt my brow furrow as I gaped in shock at him and said, "A problem? They are trying to sell the King of The Pirates jolly roger! My father's jolly roger! It's a bit more than just a problem! We have to get it back, we can't let them sell that. How did they even get their hands on it?"

He quickly shushed me and looked around to make sure no one was paying attention to us. Only then did he whisper, "I don't know. But I do know that we can not cause a scene in here. Boss and Beckman will figure something out."

"But no matter what they figure out there is no way they will-"

"I know." He said before motioning for me to follow him over to Roux.

I glanced at the flag one last time before huffing and following him. We found Roux eating an entire tray of fancy snacks while standing near a large painting and pretending to look at it. He smiled and offered the tray to us as well when we walked up to him but neither Yasopp or I took any. Then Roux's smile dimmed as he noticed the matching looks of fury on our faces. Beckman must have noticed the three of us gathering as he quickly appeared between Yasopp and Roux.

"What's going on?" Beckman asked.

I scoffed and said, "What's going on is that these arrogant-"

Yasopp but me off by elbowing me and saying, "Cool it Ads. If we cause a scene in here we won't last out at sea for very long. They might be slimy bastards without a shred of respect, but we need them if Shanks is ever going to become an emperor."

"I get that. But that doesn't mean I can just stand by as they try to sell the flag of the Roger pirates." I snapped back in a whisper.

"I know." Beckman said while subtly shifting so that he could keep an eye on the room while also making sure no one was listening in. "I get why you're mad Addie but Yasopp's right. We need to be smart about this and make sure it doesn' end in a fight. So either Shanks worlds out a diplomatic solution or we have to makes sure no one walks out of this room alive and I'm already seeing a few people here who would make that second option very difficult."

Yasopp nodded to Beckman and said, "So then what's your move?"

"We need to talk to Shanks before we do anything."

"Does he know that's here?"

Beckman shook his head and said, "Doubt it. He went straight up to see the manager and didn't look at the gallery."

I crossed my arms over my chest and said, "So then what do we do?"

"Roux head back to the ship and let the guys know what's going on. Send a few back here in case things get messy but make sure the ship is ready to sail. Addie, I want you to stay down here and keep an eye on things. Don't pick a fight but make sure no one walks out of here with the flag."

Without anything else said we all nodded and Roux turned to head back towards the ship as Beckman and Yasopp made their way across the room to the door I had seen Shanks go through when we first arrived. Once I was on my own I squared my shoulders and suppressed my rage so I could put on my best high society face and do as my Quartermaster asked of me. With a pleasant smile firmly on my face I picked up another champagne glass and started to circulate around the room once again.

Just keep it together Ads. Don't think about how these assholes who have never spent a single day at sea are desecrating one of the single most important objects to a pirate. Don't think about it. Just keep smiling and everything will be fine.

As I was walking around I turned my attention more to the other guests than the artifacts for sale and found several noteworthy people in attendance. Looking around I saw high ranking Marines, Beast pirates, Big Mom pirates, and members of every other noteworthy faction operating on the Grand Line. Every faction besides the Whitebeard pirates of course.

All this and the old man doesn't even suspect this going on on his island? That fool truly is a terrible leader.

I scoffed under my breath as I shook my head and thought back on all the pride the Whitebeard pirates had in their precious "father" who couldn't even manage his own territory. I shook my head and felt my smile dim as my eyes landed on the flag again.

But even still, no crew deserves to have their flag end up in a place like this.

I took a sip of my drink and turned away. But then I had to fight to smother a smile as I saw a familiar little monkey slowly making his way along the tops of the cages the slaves were being held in.

Well he made it here fast. But if Monstar is here then the others can't be too far behind.

I nodded to the monkey and he waved his tail back in response. But as I went back to my perusing of the crowd I noticed a vaguely familiar dark haired woman standing nearby.

Well now that might be a problem.

I casually made my way over to the woman who stood alone, looking at a tiara covered in gems that was on display.

"Beautiful." I said in as even of a tone I could manage.

"Valuable" The woman countered.

I shrugged and said, "Barely. This is just one of the tiaras made for the princess of Deul kingdom about 200 years ago. If you want something truly valuable then I would suggest the scepter of the Eigis kingdom over there. It's been thought lost for nearly 700 years. I'm sure King Tea would richly reward anyone who returned it."

The woman smirked and said, "You're as clever as I thought you'd be."

"Oh? And what did you expect?"

"Someone smart. Afterall, you'd have to be in order to still be alive with a reputation like yours."

"I could say the same about you." I said.

The woman extended her hand as she said, "Nico Robin. It's a pleasure to finally met you."

"Donquixote Ariadne. But you already knew that, obviously."

"Obviously. But I have wanted to meet you for quite a while now."

"Oh? Well what brought you to my corner of the sea at long last? I must say I've been interested in meeting you as well but never expected you to come here. This sea is a bit out of your league isn't it?"

"My boss has business here."

"And which boss is that?"

She hummed, "Can't remember, but I'm sure he'll be dead in a few days."

"By your hand I would guess."

"Only if he forces me to."

We smirked again before clinking our glasses together.

"My boss has business here as well but I don't expect he'll die from it." I said.

"No? I could help change that if you like, although I doubt you'd need my help."

"Of course not, I'm the one who sails in the New World, remember? Besides, I have no intention of leaving his ship any time soon."

"Careful Ariadne, you almost sound attached."

I laughed and said, "You'll understand one day, all that running has to lead to something after all. But it's worth it when you find people you can trust."

She hummed again and said, "I'll have to take your word for it. But excuse me I'm needed elsewhere."

I raised my glass to her as she walked away and turned my eyes to scan across the room. I spotted Alden talking to a man who looked suspiciously like a Cipher Pole agent and nodded to him slightly but didn't wait to see if he would respond. Instead I made my way over to look at a sword that claimed to be from Amazon Lily that was on display close to the door Shanks and the others had gone through earlier.

But my quiet observations were interrupted by the doors that lead out to the street being thrown open and a man wearing a turban and flowing robes running in.

"WHITEBEARD! IN THE HARBOR!" The man screamed. "WHITEBEARD'S IN THE HARBOR!"

He stopped in the center of the room and said, "Thought you ought to know." Before passing out and falling flat on his face.

Everyone in the room stared at the man in silence before several screams were let out and suddenly the entire room was filled with rushing bodies as everyone began to freakout. But through the crowd I saw Monstar jumping across their heads and making his way towards the flag. Seeing that things were handled I turned towards the door that the officers had gone through and rushed through it. Inside was a tall staircase leading up with another door at the top. As I was quickly making my way up the stairs I felt a wave of Conquerors haki wash over me. I stumbled under the weight of it for a second before recognizing that it was coming from Shanks. Even still I had to take a deep breath before opening the door that led to the meeting that was (apparently) not going well.

Inside the room I saw Shanks sitting on an opulent sofa with Beckman and Yasopp seated on either side of him, looking as if he didn't have a care in the world despite the crushing haki still billowing off of him. Across from them was another sofa where a pudgy little man sat cowering but still managing to weakly glare at them.

"What's going on Ads?" He asked with a pleasant smile on his face without taking his eyes off the other man.

"Whitebeard's been spotted on the island." I said quickly.

Shanks turned to me and nodded before saying, "Right. Well then I guess we should be on our way. Vance, been a pleasure as always we'll just take what we need from down stairs and get out of your hair."

The three of them stood and made their way to the door as the sad little man continued to fume in his seat. But before Shanks stepped through the door he turned back and said, "By the way, I'm working on building up my empire right now and I don't intend to micromanage every single businessman in my territory. So you should give me a call if you live to see tomorrow. But anyways, good luck with the old man."

He gave a half hearted wave to the man as he let the door swing shut behind him. As we were walking down the stairs his smile disappeared and he said, "What's going on downstairs Ads?"

"Someone ran in and said that the old man had been spotted in the harbor. Alden and Monstar were working on getting the flag and everyone else was running around like a headless chicken."

"Great. This should be fun." He said before pushing open the door that led into the main gallery.

Inside the once orderly room nearly everyone had fled and several of the display pedestals had been knocked over as well, leaving nothing but shattered glass across the floor. But standing in the center of the mess was Alden with Monstar wearing a tricorn hat perched on his shoulder. He was also holding a backpack that was filled to bursting, no doubt with several of the valuables that had been on display.

He waved and called out, "Hello Captain! I have done as requested and liberated the jolly roger of our fallen king."

Shanks nodded and said, "Great, let's get the hell out of here."

Then he squared his shoulders and as quickly as it had come his haki was now under control. Despite my barely existent observation haki it still felt as if he had completely disappeared from everything except my physical sight.

As we stepped out into the busy street Alden held the backpack out to me and said, "It would be best to cover our jolly roger on your back. But take care, the flag of the Roger pirates is in this bag."

I nodded and slung the bag onto my shoulders as we started walking. Then Beckman said, "Alright we need to split up and meet back at the ship. Alden, did the boys move it?"

"Yes they wanted to avoid our dear Brat being spotted so they sailed a few miles away. They assumed that we would be able to commandeer a few long ships to return."

"We could do that or I could get us to the ship. It shouldn't be too hard to transport just the six of us." I offered.

Beckman nodded to me and said, "Alright that works. So still split up into twos and meet up on the southernmost point of the island. It's behind the skull mountain and shouldn't be too busy."

We nodded and quickly broke up into groups with Alden and Monstar going off on their own and then Beckman and Yasopp breaking off as well. Which left Shanks and I to make it to the meeting point on our own.

But before we got too far apart, Monstar jumped down from Alden's shoulder and climbed onto Shanks' instead. But rather than sitting down he forcefully shoved the tricorn hat onto his head and jumped down.

"Thanks?" Shanks said he looked to be struggling to suppress a laugh.

With that handled we all went our separate ways and Shanks said, "I really didn't need this hat. I know how to sneak around despite my hair."

I smiled and said, "I guess he was just worried about you."

"Apparently." He said as we continued to casually walk down the street.

As we made our way we noticed a group of low ranking Whitebeard pirates heading towards us and turned to pursue a sword stall so they would pass behind us.

"You are really good at hiding your haki, you know that?" Shanks said.

I casually picked up a dagger and pretended to be interested in it as I said, "I'm not doing anything special I'm just used to not wanting to be seen."

"Well it's working because even I'm having a hard time sensing you right now."

I smiled and said, "Thanks. I would return the compliment but I can barely use my Observation Haki on a good day."

Shanks snorted and said, "Yeah we really need to work on that. But come on, I think we can move now.

We made it almost the entire way across the town and only saw a few insignificant members of Whitebeards crew until we were nearly to the meeting point. But as we were walking I stumbled as I saw Vista and Fossa exit an alleyway and turn to start walking towards us. Without a word Shanks threw his arm around my shoulders and turned his face towards mine as if to say something. I laughed as if he had said something funny as we walked right past them. I forced myself not to look over my shoulder as we continued on our way.

Once we were a few feet away I asked, "Why is Whitebeard even here?"

Shanks shrugged and said, "Probably because I called him and told him what was going on here."

"You called him?" I hissed in a barely controlled whisper.

"Well I did it in a funny voice so he wouldn't know it was me but yeah." He said with another shrug.

"Why?"

"Vance was getting too comfortable here and I need him on a shorter leash in the future. So if the old man destroys everything he has here then he'll have no choice but to come to me for protection in the future."

"That's cold Boss."

Cold, but also brilliant.

"I'm a pirate Ads, never said I was nice. Now come on, let's get back to the ship."

"Right."

After our close call with Vista and Fossa we met up with the others and quickly made it back to the ship. Then as we were sailing away from the island following the eternal pose to Snowy island I stood on the deck enjoying the sea breeze. As I stood against the railing I saw Monstar hop up to sit next to me so I nodded to him and said, "Hey how's it going."

"Pretty good, but this fruit tastes like shit."

I'm sorry what?

My head whipped around to stare at Monstar only to see him staring back at me as if waiting to respond. As I blinked dumbly at him I saw him raise his hand to his mouth and take a bite of somethi-

"Where the fuck did you get a devil fruit?" I shouted as I ripped the fruit out of his hand.

"Hey! I was eating that! Get your own fruit Ads!" He shouted back as he lunged at me to try and take back the half eaten fruit.

I quickly dodged, and started to run towards the deck house only for him to screech and start chasing me as I shouted, "Boss! Help! Monstar ate a devil fruit!"

"What?" I heard half the crew shout back in response as they ran out onto the deck.

But before I could respond Monstar jumped onto my back and continued struggling to take the fruit back. As we struggled he reverted to his primate screeches directly in my ear. I jerked my head back at the sound and threw him off of my back. However, I didn't look where I was throwing him and so I ended up staring in horror as our monkey flew out over the ocean. Our monkey who had just eaten a devil fruit. Our monkey who could no longer swim. That monkey was flying out over the-

"What the hell Ads? He can't swim!"

"I know it was an accident!"

But just before he crashed into the waves he let out a roar and seemed to explode into a massive ball of hair and fury. Instead of the small monkey we were all used to splashing down into the waves, a massive figure stood in the waves and threw back his head to let out a deafening roar that I felt in my bones. When he lowered his head we could see the massive set of horns he now had as well.

As we stood there gaping at our sweet little monkey turned monster someone said, "I-is he a giant now?"

"Look at those horns you idiot, he's an ancient giant."

"Right, our pet is now an ancient giant."

"Not sure he still qualifies as a pet to be honest."

"How the hell are we supposed to keep an ancient giant on the ship?"

"So you can talk now?" Alden asked as we all sat gathered around the once again normal sized monkey in the galley.

Monstar rolled his eyes and said, "Obviously I ate the Gaint Gaint fruit you dipshit."

"Right."

"Yeah by the way I got a bone to pick with you." Monstar said as he stood up and glared at us.

"Who?" I asked.

"All of you. How come none of you call me the same thing? I have like 5 different names and I'm just really confused. So now that I can talk I would like a real name, thanks."

I felt my brow furrow as I said, "What do you mean? You're name is Monstar isn't it?"

At that Roux turned to me and said, "Monstar? Like with an A? I thought it was just monster, you know, like the scary critters?"

Then Max said, "You guys actually have a name for him? I thought we just called him monkey?"

Which led to Beckman saying, "Ok how long has he been on the crew? I would understand if Addie was confused but haven't Alden and Monstar been on the crew for 8 years now? How is this just now coming up?"

"That's what I'm saying!" Monstar/Monster/Monkey shouted.

"Has it really been that long since you two joined the crew?" Shanks asked.

Alden smiled and said, "Yes Captain! We joined just before Mihawk parted ways with our merry band."

"Ok ok reminiscing aside we apparently never named our monkey. Alden why didn't you ever name him? You raised him didn't you?"

"Yes I did but I could never quite decide on a name for the jolly fellow so I mostly called him something different every day."

"Right, well you got any ideas?" Beckman asked, turning to Monstar/Monster/Monkey.

Monstar/Monster/Monkey shrugged and said "Haven't really had the brain power to think about it before today so nope."

"Oooh we should totally name him Luffy!" Max shouted.

"Why?"

"Think about it, Luffy is Monkey D. Luffy, so he could be Luffy Dee Monkey!"

The crew considered that and after a minute of contemplation I said, "We should call him Roger."

Gunther sputtered and said, "You are not naming him after the King of the Pirates!"

At that Monstar/Monster/Monkey/Luffy?/Roger? screeched and shouted, "What are you saying I'm not good enough to be named after the king you old bastard? I'm a fucking ancient gaint! I'm stronger than that bastard ever was!"

But as he shouted he started to grow in size until his back was pressed against the ceiling. Yet he still continued to grow until the wood started to groan.

"Dude! Dude! Stop, watch the ceiling! You can't change forms on the ship!" Someone shouted as a long crack ran across the ceiling.

Then Monstar/Monster/Monkey/Luffy?/Roger? paused in his shouting and shrank back down to his normal size only to cross his arms in a pout.

At that Gunther groaned and said, "Awh shit look at his face! He has to be Roger now!"

So there we go! Extra points to anyone who catches the Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean references in this chapter :) Anyways thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this chapter! I am working on accepting the fact that I am better at writing emotional dialogue than I am at pretty much anything else and that my stories are always going to be more focused on the conversations than action. So I hope you guys are ready for all the feels and all the backstories because that is pretty much all you are getting for the next 4 chapters :)

But anyways, let me know what you think and what you would like to see in up coming chapters!

(Also I fully blame Tekking101 for the Monke's fruit in this because he said he had to have a king kong type fruit so here we go XD and I was sick and tired of wondering if the monkey's name was monstAr or monstEr because the wiki said it was monstAr but then Oda said it was monstEr and I just couldn't deal with not knowing so he's just Roger now.)
