N/A Not an owner of the characters or story of the movie The Covenant. I own only the characters I came up with, Bell family. Hope you enjoy.

Gazing at the sea across from her, she appreciated the beauty of it, illuminated by the full moon. Appreciate the little things, that is why she does on a daily basis, it keeps her grounded, keeps her from thinking about how her family situation is, keeps her from putting stress on her full and heavy plate of responsibilities. So letting her thoughts fly, unrestrained, enjoying the carelessness of the vapid dreams of childhood, she had one stress free moment.

Once her imagination of adventures on the rough seas and the mythical stories of Poseidon ran its course, she turned for the hidden passage. Running her hands over the rough wall of the cliff, she carefully got to the tunnel and started her decent on the stairs and small passages. Of course anyone else would have been afraid, but Tracey didn't see the dark as an enemy, or the silence, it was an adventure. Secretly she thinks that there is some Peter Pan in her, to not grow up and always have adventures.

Giggling at her own thoughts, she started singing and humming a happy song, Hi Ho from Snow White.

Well, we dig dig dig

Well, we dig in our mine the whole day through

Dig dig dig, that is what we like to do

And it ain't no trick to get rich quick

If you dig dig dig, with a shovel and a pick

Dig dig dig, the whole day through

Got to dig dig dig, it's what we like to do in our mine, in our mine

Where a million diamonds shine

We got to dig dig dig, from the morning till the night

Dig dig dig up everything in sight

We got to dig dig dig, in our mine, in our mine

Dig up diamonds by the score

A thousand rubies, sometimes more

But we don't know what we are diggin' for, yeah

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho

It's off to work we go

We keep on singing all day long

Heigh-ho

By the time she got down to ground level, everyone had arrived and the party was halfway through. However there is one way to know that the party wasn't entirely underway. The Ipswich Sons were not here yet.

Slightly disappointed at their absence, fine she will admit to herself; Caleb's absence, she felt a little nervous and bored. Looking around the crowd of peers, she opened the juice bottle she took from the ice box someone had brought. Tracey unlike a majority of her peers didn't fall under this certain peer pressure subject, intoxication by alcohol. Her parents raised her to follow the rules, and those she does follow. She has yet to get into serious trouble that she herself has committed. Not referring to the few times she got in trouble by being framed for something. Those incidents tend to either rectify themselves by the truth coming out or she just admits to the punishment. Being confrontational is not one of her forte.

Continuing with her observations, she noticed the couples, the ones that had lasted the summer, lasted the previous year, and those that were new. The new ones were rather randy, literally dry hump dancing near the bonfire and speakers. They were in their own world, not caring that they were being extremely rude, and breaking social etiquette. Unlike the other couples who were less randy, and still social or approachable for some chit chat.

The rest were singles, including herself, and their activities were either talking, or dancing, trying to catch someone watch them do those activities, long for their dorm and silence, people watch, or be on their phones or game consoles. Tracey had been walking a little, greet some people with a smile if they smiled at her, exchanged words of greeting and sometimes asking how someone's summer went. She would simply reply by saying that she worked on the horse ranch back home.

It didn't bother her that they would react with surprise or indignation when she mentioned where she worked during summers. Tracey knew a long time ago that there were people at this school who have not needed to hard labor before, or that needed to do a job on the side to afford an education or help out their family. Even while at school she works part time at the animal vet during late hours and at weekends she works as the assistant to the manager of the mall clothing MNG. That had been an interesting story for another time. In an unpredictable way, she found herself in that job position and with the manager as a good friend who can count on Tracey.

No her peers, most of them would spend the weekends enjoying life, even have time to travel to other towns, visit New York. Something that she has wanted to do since she got here. And during weekdays they wouldn't need to rush homework, stay late or even at times skip dinner to finish their work load after finishing after school activities. Tracey doesn't get down time until her works are finished. It's a tight rope, but that's why she has the scholarship, and must work harder to keep it as well.

Suddenly she was distracted. The level of hush then increase in talk was like a wave, like someone playing with the dial of the general audio. Yet she knew what could arouse such a shift, they were here. The Sons of Ipswich had finally arrived, and at the optimum time as well.

Guess who finally joined the party. Oh well. Find out in the next chapter. LOL! Muahahahaha. I hope this chapter gave some more important back story. I am building an image here. Let me know what your thoughts are so far. Thanks for reading.
