I struggled writing this chapter. Please bare with it. This is now incorporating a character from STAR WARS ROGUE ONE.
Chapter 15.
Anakin and Ahsoka after facing the adversity of change in order to heal the trauma caused to Ahsoka's sanity have to lead the two former Jedi to an unknown planet. At first, they thought it might have been Mortis, but that soon changed when they were greeted by a human male, Uldir Denan. He leads them into the monastery of long hallways, and grand archways carved into the mountain side. At the entrance a large natural spring welcomed them.
Ahsoka continued to walk happily following Uldir as she took in the picturesque scenery of snow-capped mountains in the distance as they passed around the mountain where a man-made glass wall had been erected to avoid falling down the sheer drop to sure death. She pointed excitedly, looking at Anakin for his response, but he remained, eyes fixed on Uldir as he paused in his step to wait for Ahsoka to finish gawking at the beauty of the outside world.
"There's a viewing port of the second floor from the roof if you're ever interested," Uldir calmly said as he gestured for them to continue down the hall.
Anakin, took Ahsoka's hand as she smiled gleefully, all sense of past disturbances of memories escaping her mind for the moment.
"Where are you taking us?" Anakin demanded as he pulled Ahsoka closer to him as they walked around the corner leading to a door.
"To the Elders, of course," Uldir replied without skipping a beat.
Anakin mumbled to himself how much like his time of Mortis that has sounded as he recalled 'The Daughter' saying almost the exact same thing.
The trio stopped at the door as an overwhelming force presence became evident as Uldir's hands glowed with pure stark light.
Anakin instinctively pulled Ahsoka to him as they watched the door and the hallway drops into the floor revealing two figures fighting furiously and a circle of five chairs in front of them. Off to the right it appeared to them it was a living area, and to their left the hallway had turned into a long arena similar to the training halls back at the temple.
Uldir dropped to one knee as the two figures stopped fighting and walked over to them.
Anakin and Ahsoka released each other, twitching to grab at their lightsabers as two humans approached, one younger than the other, both male.
"There will be no need for those here," came a thickly accented voice from the older male as he used the force to pull their lightsabers to him, "we are Grey Jedi".
The male bowed his head, "welcome, Chosen One. My name is Farah Imwe and this is my son, Chirrut. We follow the teachings of both the light and dark as first professed by Leor Denal".
Ahsoka frowned, she knew that name from the history classes she took as a youngling.
Anakin nodded in agreement as they shared the same thought.
Figures came out from the shadows on all sides of the room, silhouettes, almost a singularity of force unlike anything either former Jedi had experienced.
They began to chant,
"There is no Dark Side, nor Light Side
There is only the Force
I will do what I must to keep the balance
The balance is what keeps me together
There is no good without evil, but evil must not be allowed to flourish
There is passion, yet peace
Serenity, yet emotion
Chaos, yet order
I am a Guardian of Balance
I am a Grey Jedi"
POV: Anakin Skywalker
The Grey Jedi, shadows within the galaxy, teachers of the light and dark. This is the solution to healing Ahsoka. The Force says it to be so. I don't want to admit it but this is where we must be. Without the Jedi, without the war. Somehow now that we are here, I suddenly feel as though I will gain the knowledge I need to restore the balance. It is unlike anything I have felt before, perhaps this is where the real beginning of the prophecy is, 'in a place of light where there is dark, a leader and prophecy will reach fulfillment'.
The force surrounding this place, it is again, unlike any conduit in the universe I have ever experienced. It pumps through my veins like the pure iron-rich blood itself. I can feel the midichlorian's within me replenishing faster, my sense of judgment clearer.
I sat in a meditative position as I watched Ahsoka look on in awe. After an introduction to the head of this monastery, we were allocated a room and were given free reign, nothing was unrestricted to us. I found it disturbing but at the same time welcomed it. For the first time in my life, I felt free.
"Anakin," Ahsoka's small voice came as she looked around the viewport.
I momentarily admired her innocence as she touched the glass, smiling at the snow-capped mountains.
She turned, "you seemed troubled, and I know it's a lot to take in".
I sighed. I closed my eyes, I can't lose her to these visions that plague her mind.
"Ahsoka," I said calmly as I stood up, wrapping my arms around her as she continued to look out the window, "do you know why we were guided here?"
She smiled sheepishly, "the force wills it to happen, and so it has".
I hugged her tighter, my chest tightening, "Ahsoka, these visions that you're plagued with…" I paused, it's like I making it out that she is sick, but she's not. It's not her fault…
"Yes?"
"…This place, it's supposed to be the answer to stopping them… to h-" I swallowed, why is it so hard to say it, "to heal the trauma that was caused to you by Barriss".
She looked up at me, searching my eyes for the truth.
"…I know, Anakin".
Those three small words, it felt as though I had told her my life's regrets but she just, she understands yet doesn't show it. If anyone has no fear, it's her.
"Anakin, I remember, everything. I realize that it's not my fault. But the force keeps showing me, it's like a warning almost, I can't control it".
Her voice, it was empty of all emotion. It was the voice of the old Ahsoka, the one who has matured into someone so strong and determined.
We stood there watching the sky, a squadron flying in formation passed, younglings inside the cockpits. It was a beautiful place, where in the galaxy I do not know. Perhaps somewhere so far out in the outer rim, war dared not reach it.
"Chosen One, Ahsoka, seek to heal in this monastery do you?" It was that accented voice, Farah.
I turned my head in his direction, nodding my head.
"Find it here you will not, only one in this place, knows where you will find it".
My heart sunk, I narrowed my eyes, "who?"
"Rahvin Takan, his quarters are on the third floor, third door on the right".
Ahsoka walked next to me as emotions flew around my head. I must trust the force. The whole idea of being in this place, it's difficult to comprehend. Snow began to fall outside as I tugged at Ahsoka to keep walking.
'It'll be okay'
'I know…'
Her voice, those two words, they had almost broken me when she stood atop of the temple steps.
I rounded the corner and counted three doors down. It was east facing, our ship was visible in-between boxes of rooms out the window.
All of a sudden a prodigious amount of Force energy emanating from the room, it was laced in the dark side but yet somehow, balanced. It was familiar to me, too familiar. I had sensed it before, back on Naboo and more recently Mandalore… A sense of dread filled my body as I froze, my hand hovering over the door panel.
Ahsoka, grabbed my arm, the same fear was in her eyes.
"Maybe we should reconsider… ask the Elders exactly who he is," I snarled, anger filling my body.
Why didn't they say anything about a darks sider being here? Surely they could sense the dangers associated with too former Jedi here. It was too soon.
"No," Ahsoka said firmly, "I need answers".
I reached for my lightsaber, my hand coming into contact with nothing but an empty space on my belt. Farah had taken our lightsabe-
The door slide open. A figure sitting on a bench facing the window was within. A Dathomir male with red skin and black markings.
"Skywalker, Tano, please enter. It's a pleasure to see you finally join us".
That voice, it belongs to only one, the son of The Sith, Darth Maul.
