Chapter 26: POV: Darth Maul

The assault on Malacore V has been going on for three days. By this time Separatists, reinforcements had been contacted and the Sith Temple had remained untouched. The republic has retreated its forces concluding that the battle had already been lost with the fall of the Chancellor. Coruscant needed the protection especially with the Grey Jedi at large within the galaxy.

The separatists wanted maul alive, it doesn't matter how they do it they wanted him alive. He was privy to knowledge that Dooku craved. He swore to his former master that he would capture him alive, even if it meant that he would die to try. Maul was curious as to why he was still so loyal to his master even if he is dead. It was unlike the nature of a Sith.

Now that the Jedi had retreated, all that was left was to destroy the rest of the droid army. Activating the automated weapons system on the outer perimeter, droid began to fall leaving behind a pile of smoking metal. I took control of the main spire, activating the long-range missiles, aiming it at the two remaining ships left in the sky. Three out of five were taken out in the first missile launch, waiting for the projectiles to re-charge to take out the final two starships.

The sky lit up with glorious glowing shrapnel. Peaking through it all was a smaller ship, however; sensing life forms inside Maul prepared for combat.

"Charge the generator!" he hissed as the ship continued to fall for the temple.

He could not fight them at the temple, he needed them on the ground.

Turning the outer perimeter defenses away from the droids, a futile barrage was shot at the ship to minimal effect; the droids taking it out within seconds.

Maul left orders for the temple defense droids, as he waited for the ship to land and its cargo to step out. Red blades rushed towards his position on the landing platform as his figure took off into the sky, propelling itself down the side of the temple, diving into the sea of droids. Explosive charges exploded in the distance, swallowing up the majority of the army and stranding the remaining masses, the ground giving way beneath their metal limbs.

Maul's knowledge of the force allowed himself time to escape the planets orbit with the aid of autopilot, the mass shadow generator activating as soon as his presence left the system. All organic life on the planet would be captured in time and locked into place for eternity. The droid army would lose power and shut down. The temples defence protecting the knowledge within its walls as its programmed, Darth Traya's essence resting once again.

"Anakin, Ahsoka, it's Maul. Malacore V is safe but be wary, there were acolytes. Unknown to the Jedi, acolytes are breathers of the Dark Side, destroyers of the light and grey".
