STILL YOURS

CHAPTER 3

Disclaimer: I wish I did.

Natsume Hyuuga.

A name so familiar that Mikan could effortlessly say his name out loud and still get hurt by it. Even hearing and saying his name hurts. She honestly didn't know why. She just wishes she won't see him anytime soon.

They were waiting for Ruka Nogi, the lucky guy to win Hotaru Imai's long ago locked up cold heart. She looked at the person standing next to her, and she could already tell that she was indeed excited to see him again. It's been after all a year since they last saw each other (minus the call, texts, and skype and facetime video calls.)

"What is taking that doofus so long?" Hotaru questioned eyeing the sliding doors and everyone entering and exiting the airport. She was mad now. Any person in the right mind would know not to let Hotaru Imai wait for 30 minutes. And anyone who did such thing wants a death bed with Hotaru Imai smiling at their grave.

"Imai." A cold, masculine voice called out behind them. A voice so familiar to the both of them. A voice Mikan hoped not to hear for the rest of her trip in Japan.

As they turned around, they were astounded to see who it was. Standing tall and proud was the oh so famous Natsume Hyuuga with his blonde and tall best friend, Ruka Nogi talking on the phone behind him. Ruka looked irritated at the person he was talking to and when he turned his head to see who Natsume was looking at, all his frustration drained when he got to see Hotaru. He immediately ended the call and ran to the person next to me.

Hotaru simply looked at Ruka, annoyed at him for not showing up earlier than her. Ruka took her into his arms and completely forgot that Mikan, too, was there. But she wasn't mad at them, instead she was happy for the both of them. They finally meet again after a year.

"Ehem,"

Mikan took all her strength to stop herself from looking at the boy who broke her heart. The same boy who left her standing in the freezing cold.

"Are you seriously ignoring me, Polka?" the voice said. She still didn't look at him even though he said that thing he used to call her, "I know you can't resist me,"

"Don't talk to me."

"And she finally speaks!"

"Shut the fuck up."

Mikan notice that what she said made Natsume stop in his tracks.

"When did you learn how to curse?" He asked, leaning in forward.

"The day you left me." Mikan looked at him. Staring him down. "Now, will you please do the exact same thing and just leave me alone."

"Feisty little thing, aren't you? Glad you finally learned to stand up for yourself." He told her as he fixed his posture.

Mikan looked around the huge airport looking for a cafeteria where she can escape to where this creep standing infront of her won't follow. She spotted a Starbucks not far from where her feet were glued to. It's better than nothing.

She took her luggage and walked away from the group.

"I've missed you." She hears Ruka tell Hotaru as he finally lets her go. That was a long ass hug in her opinion.

When she reached her destination, she simply ordered a Grande Caramel Macchiato at the cashier. And while she was taking out her wallet, a voice behind her suddenly spoke.

"I'll get this," the voice says handing the cashier his card before the brunette could even stop him, "Add a Grande Iced Americano with that, please"

As she turned around, she sees a rather amused Natsume looking right at her.

"Well that was very generous of you," Mikan says as she grabs her coffee from the bar when her name was called. "I didn't know you had it in you to be nice."

"But I'm always nice, Polka,"

Mikan ignored his remark and simply looked around to find a place to sit and enjoy her drink in peace. She spotted one at the back near a cuddling couple. She sighed as she made her way to the small empty table.

She placed her drink down and plopped herself into the brown comfy armchair. She places her Hermes Birkin handbag beside her while taking her phone from her bag's pocket and texted Hotaru where she was incase just in case her best friend and her best friend's boyfriend wondered where she went.

"Oh good, you found a place." Natsume says as he sat down into the brown armchair in front of her, and taking a sip of his own coffee.

"I thought I told you to leave me alone?" Mikan says not taking her eyes off her phone. Grabbing her drink from the small table, she takes a good long sip and not even bothering to look at the handsome face that is carefully looking at her.

"What?" She finally says, placing her phone back in her bag and grabbing her journal next.

He doesn't answer. He completely ignores her. He just continues gazing at her.

It was kind of flattering but mostly annoying, Mikan thought.

Mikan opens the pink notebook sitting on her lap as she takes a sip on her drink.

It was filled with all her drawings. All her design works. From her past clothing lines to the one she's planning for in the future. It was filled with different colors of fabrics and prints taped to the side of each dress design with little side comments below written with a pencil.

"You drew all that?" Natsume asks taking a good long look at Mikan's sketch book/journal. "Wow."

Just as what Natsume did to her, she ignored his comment and continued looking for a blank page to write on. She removed her black inked pink ball pen at the small pouch of her pink journal and she finally found a blank page.

Mikan starts scribbling a few lines until she finally got what an idea on what she would draw. She decided on designing an A-Line corset bodice long gown, something simple. Just something to keep her distracted while a certain Natsume was losing his patience the longer the brunette ignored him.

"How long are you going to continue ignoring me, Polka?" Natsume asks eyeing the brunette while she silently draws on her journal, occasionally taking a sip on her drink. The longer she drew, the shorter Natsume's patience became.

But, even if Natsume absolutely hated being ignored by the brunette, he just told himself to stay calm, because Mikan is finally back. He can finally win her back.

As soon as Natsume sees she's almost done with what she was doing, he tried again, "I have something for you,"

This made the brunette finally look up at him. "A welcome back gift," he continues, as he looks at her hazel eyes he's missed.

When Mikan still didn't say anything, he carefully slid a small red box on the table, not taking his eyes off of the brunette.

Mikan has a confused look on her face, but she still took the box and slowly opened it.

A heart-shaped diamond ring.

Mikan now looked at Natsume, stunned by his gift. "What?"

It was now Natsume's turn to look away, he was embarrassed.

"For you," he simply says as he sees a guy giving flowers to his own girlfriend. Natsume suddenly thought if it was better that he gave the brunette flowers instead.

Mikan sighed and slid the box back to him, "I can't accept this, Natsume,"

Still not looking at her, Natsume gave her the box back. "No returns,"

"But, Natsume-" the brunette starts, but she was cut off.

"It's yours," he says finally looking at her, "It has always been yours, Mikan,"
