WHOOOOA!
How long has it been? But I'm back, so much thinking and this is what I've come up with.
I'd like to first pay respect for the people who served the war of World War I. Happy Veterans Day and also pay for those people in the Philippines who have suffered catastrophe crisis with Typhoon Haiyan.
Thank you and now continue on reading. Enjoy.

Chapter 10: Closed Doors
The sound of students laughing, kids clamoring down the hallway felt like an old dream, but here she was, once again back in high school. It was her third to last year and she didn't know what to expect of it. She took a hold of her backpack's stripes on top of each shoulder and tightened it. She came out from a corner of the school's hall and entered the crowd. She walked pass the mobians some who stared others who didn't care of her existence. Her quills swayed like her small summer dress as she walked and her red color of her lips gave off a sweet scent of strawberries giving the guys a little glance at her. Still, Amy never did her looks for any guy; she did it to please herself and all of fashion.
Amy stopped near a class to wear her locker was and began turning its lock to the correct numbers. She opened it and saw her locker was empty. It being empty, she had already a few ideas on what to put inside: a mirror, makeup, a few magazine pictures. She placed in a small reading book and closed her locker. The shadow of a figure made her flinch to her side. Sonic leaned against the locker next to hers smiling. "Morning,"
"Sonic," she gasps, looking around but then turned to him. "You shouldn't be too friendly here," She said quietly but faked an angry face, hiding the surprise behind her eye.
"I just came to say hello, because you're looking fabulously colorful today." He commented at her blue dress in a coyly way. Amy still wouldn't be moved, she narrowed her eyes and looked around her teeth clenching. "That's nice to know. I'm leaving." She said distantly and walked down the hall without much mobians looking at her.
'Good' she thought to herself relieved.
"You afraid she'll see you with me?"
If she bet money that a vein could be seen in the temple of her forehead she'd win. She tried with all her might not to hush him down and make it obvious to anyone around that something was wrong. Word got around school quickly and she didn't want it to reach anyone's ears. "Why are you following me?" She asked without looking at him.
"Because, we're friends. Did you forget already?" The determination in his voice said it all that he wanted her to understand a concept here. Amy frowned and stopped to turn to him.
"Sonic," She breathed, "Please."
"You're afraid of her," He stated more than question, getting closer.
Amy felt her cheeks brighten but she kept her serious look at him. She opened her mouth to say something, but words didn't come out. Instead, she replaced it with a stern sign and walked around him and continued down the hall.
"Shame," She heard his voice lightly as she walked away from him. Amy didn't turn around because she knew her face was boiling red and didn't want him to see the defeat in her eye. Her hand clenched holding in her anger as she turned around the corner. She found herself in front of the girl's restroom and entered hastily. Nobody was inside the restroom and it was just her alone. Amy groaned and steadied herself on the wall, pressing her back hard against the cold marble. I'm such an idiot, she thought abjectly remembering Sonic's jarring words. She felt the truth smacking her in the face with he's saying and how he put it, but He was right, everything he was saying so far was true, but it could still be fought and proved wrong. Sally wasn't totally wrong in her belief. Boys were not to be trusted and Sally was still her friend, but the real question now was if she was really afraid of Sally.
Amy stared down at her shoes and frowned.
At least, she didn't feel afraid of her.
.:xXx:.
Sally and her group watched as Rouge and her boyfriend walked down the hallway. Half of the school stared down at the new couple, Knuckles and Rouge, who locked-hands as they passed the main entrance where Sally stood. Rouge being the most known role model at school and Knuckles being popular with the girls, both of them together, brought up stares from even the teachers. Sally closed her eyes and ignored them as they passed.
"Sally," Mina whispered, not ripping her eyes off Rouge and Knuckles.
"What?" Sally muttered, sounding annoyed.
Mina looked away to her and bites her lip. She didn't say anything to her. She didn't know how. How she could say if she was okay and how she would react to it. It was better off staying quiet.
Sally closed her locker and faced her angrily. "Nothing to say?"
"I was just going to ask…" she paused making sure of her next reply. "If you've seen everyone else?"
"What do you mean?"
"Blaze, Amy, Bunnie and Fiona. I haven't seen them." Mina breathed sounding tired.
Sally's angry face dropped seeing that Mina looked taken aback. Sally calmed her nerves and brought aside her infuriating thoughts. "No, I haven't seen them. I wonder where they are."
Sally trailed off blinking her eyes. From a distance she could see a little pink hedgehog. She walked hastily around the corner and disappeared. There weren't so many mobians around but enough so that she could lose her behind someone passing by. Sally rose an eyebrow and her head tilted to the side. "I think I just found Amy,"
Mina flipped around a gleeful grin. "Where!?"
Sally grabbed Mina's hand and pulled forward to chase after Amy but again they both stopped when suddenly a blue hedgehog appeared down the hallway from where Amy had come from. He walked causally looking straight ahead of him. Thus his eye caught Sally's eye instantly, but he didn't react in any particular way. Sally awkwardly stared away and Mina followed in her steps flinching to the side. Sonic caught a glimpse of their reactions and snorted to himself shaking his head and continuing on forward.
Sally heard the small snort and her head rose to see the back of Sonic's head. Her eyes narrowed.
"He wants something." She said gruffly.
Mina laughed and bumped shoulders. "You heard it too? And here I thought it was me!" She laughed and added, "It looks like he found us cute."
Sally slowly stared at her with a consternation look which made Mina freeze up and Sally slowly shook her head and walked off ahead of her. Mina nervously chuckled, "Are we not cute?" she asked to no one in particular and skipped to reach her side.
.:xXx:.
RIING
The bell rang and Amy stared down at her schedule paper. She had the third floor which was a long way up. Her first period was an old class with an old teacher going by the name of Robotnik. A science teacher by the most part, but he also taught Math and a little bit of architecture. Word said he wanted to dominate the world therefore he was a crazy man, but his class was simple. AP Physics was a piece of cake in her eyes and she was ready to take it head on. She ran up the last pair of steps from the stairs and reached the third floor. Her classroom was the door just across from the stairs and she already saw people inside. Suddenly she felt nervous, but she wouldn't allow that stop her even half-way from learning and graduating school. Amy held in her breath and walked in front of the class where she heard disaster strike, loud guffawing, objects smashing creating clashing sounds and papers being thrown. Amy was about to enter, but a paper plane appeared out through the door and she moved to the side with a small yelp.
Two hands grabbed the side of her shoulders and Amy looked up seeing Sonic grinning down at her. Amy pushed her away quickly and she turned to him. "Will you stop following me?" she asked looking more observant than angry. In her mind a question formed. Why was he here? Did this classroom, that happened to be hers, be his too?
"I never intended to. You just constantly appear wherever I am." He corrected her chuckling a bit.
Amy huffed, "Now you're just playing games with me."
"No," he slowly began, and turned his eyes falling on a classroom across from hers. Down the hall, another door was opened for those of students to enter. "That's my classroom."
Amy's heart stopped racing, but at the same time she felt a drench of disappointment fill her chest. Not that she mind not having any classes with him, but then why did she feel like she expected too? Sonic took a glance at her paper and then snatched it off her hands finding his opportunity.
"Hey?!" She jumped forward to grab if off his hands, but she was too slow. Sonic had somehow gotten from being in front of her to behind. He inspection her paper and smirked, "I would have expected at least one class together." He muttered.
"Give it back and go to class. We'll be late on the very first day." She scolded him.
Sonic's eyes lit open finding something interesting on the paper and he looked back at her. Amy's eyes narrowed and she leaped on to him. Sonic laughed as she reached for his hand that rose up so she wouldn't grab it, but luckily for her, she was quick enough this time. She jumped back down and huffed glaring at him before she went into her classroom. Sonic peeked in and smiled. "See you later,"
But she never replied. Sonic leaned back and his smile faded slowly. His eyes roamed to his side and hummed for no particular reason. The bell suddenly rang and he came back into reality realizing that he was late to class. He boosted across to the other room and entered the classroom to begin the first period of the day.
.:xXx:.
Hours passed and time flowed fast through-out the day. Exhausted, Amy's head plopped on to the desk of her table and her pencil dropped. After an hour of writing nonstop she finally finished her one thousand page essay for her AP English class. Her head rose up to take a peek at the clock which was, in any second, about to ring. Amy pushed her chair back and got up from her chair the essay in hand. She walked down to the teacher who read a book quietly on his chair. Reaching the teacher she placed the two page essay on his desk already stapled and neat. The teacher didn't bothering looking up from his text but Amy didn't mind. She walked back to her chair when the bell rang, but only a few people got up from their chair. Others still wrote down on their own unfinished paper. Amy rolled her eyes at them for being too slow as she threw her backpack over her shoulder.
Amy came out into the halls full of students. Amy blend in right along with them so many people didn't notice she was even there. 'Good.' Amy thought to herself. Like she cared if people saw her, knew her or not.
She arrived to her locker in a matter of time. Her last class wasn't so far away from her fourth period. It was lunch now, and she had to: put her books away and head off to the cafeteria to retrieve lunch. She was starving.
"Amy!"
Amy turned her head to the side and Sonic was walking to her his usual self, a smile is causal walk and his gleeful talk.
Amy shut her eyes like if she were in pain and turned back around. He stopped in front of her and set his back against one of the other lockers crossing his arms. Amy opened her locker and placed in her two books. Meanwhile Sonic still handed said anything. He wasn't talking, making conversation or anything leaving Amy in suspicion. Amy slammed her locker making Sonic flinch and she faced him. "You hadn't stopped talking to me all day and I've had enough of you."
Sonic gave her a cheesy smile backing away a little. "You know behind your quiet side, you're actually scary."
Amy gave up sighing and asked now tired, "What do you want?"
"It's lunch time and I'm assuming you're hungry." He said.
"What are you trying to say?" she asked, letting those regretful words run out from her mouth.
"Let's have lunch together."
"No," She turned her heel and began her march away, but Sonic called out from behind and stopped in front of her.
"Not in school, if it scares you so much." He quickly said, but was rudely interrupted.
"I'm not scared of Sally!" She snarled finally and Sonic chuckled. "Okay, you're not, but whatcha say you and I head to my uncle's shop to eat." He suggested.
Amy looked to the side and blew her bangs out of her eyes. "If I say yes will you leave me alone from now on?" she asked hoping for a yes around it.
Sonic stayed quiet and slowly a small grin appeared. He leaned forward to her ear, but Amy slightly backed away. "I couldn't do that even if I tried," he huskily said to her.
Amy's eyes widened and she turned to him. Sonic winked at her and grabbed her arm. Amy gasped and looked around hoping nobody important saw that. She called his name with a yelp and Sonic ran down the hallway dragging Amy away with him to end of the hall without knowing that someone indeed important saw her. A pair of green eyes glowed in the corner of a hall. The glowing eyes watched Sonic disappear out of school with Amy.
.:XxX:.
Sally sat on the cafeteria's bench with her lunch tray and grumbled a sigh. She found her friend's eyes and smiled politely at them, but there were a pair of eyes that were missing. She frowned and looked around the table. "Where's Amy?"
Everyone's face fell and they began looking around but through the moving crowd and talking students they did not find her nor hear her.
"Last I saw her was passing period to forth, but then she's here." Mina mused looking at her steady food in front of her.
"Then no need to worry. Maybe she's on her way or even more she went to the library for research already." Fiona said without much thought into it, swaying her fork around. "AP classes are tough"
"I didn't see her." Blaze added on her part and turned to the side to Bunnie who ate quietly. She turned back to Sally and added, "I doubt Bunnie saw her, but we shouldn't worry so much Sally."
"Yea, maybe so." Sally softly agreed.
Her ear suddenly rang with the laughter of boys, boys and girls on the other side of the cafeteria. She squinted in annoyance and all her friends turned following the death glare she gave. On the other table they watched Knuckles and his gang's laugh, his arm around Rouge tightened and Sally's teeth tightened the same grip. Mina bites her lip nervous for Sally's reaction and looked back at the group. Mina spotted all the same people she had to stare at everyday out of force to Sally's stare, but it felt odd this time. The colors weren't right. There was a color that wasn't there that needed to for it to be complete. Mina blinked and hummed, "Someone's missing?" she told herself.
Bunnie's head rose. Her hat covered her eyes creating shadows above them. There was a hard line on her mouth and her spoon had stopped just in front of her lips. After a while of staring off into the table her focused was back to the group, never figuring out whom it was that was gone, but her spoon never reached back inside her mouth. It was placed back on top the plate.
.:xXx:.
Sonic placed Amy down on the sidewalk. Amy landed swiftly and dusted herself for no particular reason but it felt necessary. Sonic carried her on his back again downtown in a flash. The wind felt nicer this time than the last time he took her for a dash ride. He went light on his feet and it wasn't as cold. The sun was old and daylight sprung brightly. Sonic watched amusingly as she checked for any dirty spots on her dress.
He rolled his eyes and grinned, "You done looking pretty?"
"We're just going to eat and go back to school, okay. Nothing else," She instructed him, completely ignoring his smirk remark.
"Why? See!? That's where you're going wrong. You don't know how to have fun." He said walking for a glass door.
Amy followed him but made no real expression that she had been bothered by the comment. Sonic reached for the door handle and opened the door standing to the side. "Ladies first,"
Amy entered not caring about his cocky comment. Entering the small restaurant, she could already taste the chili dogs she had last time she came to Chuck's Chili Dogs. The place was empty, but there were a few people. Sonic arrived to her side and looked at the front where mobians would order. "You're uncle works here?" she asked.
"He owns the place," he corrected her walking forward.
"Really?" Amy questioned, her eyes widening. Her hands reached for the shoulder straps of her backpack. She looked around and she had to admit she was impressed. For someone to own a well-known restaurant was impressive. Most people couldn't even reach this level of service.
"C'mon, this way." Sonic reached for her wrist and lead her to the counter. A butterfly was at the front taking orders and Amy was shocked that she looked so slutty for such a casual place. She wore dark red lipstick matching with her red striped uniform. Her eye shadow was very detailed in the color red on the top and under her eye lids a light pink just like her wings. She spotted Sonic instantly and coly smiled,
"Well if it isn't the fastest hog around." Sonic leaned on the counter his chin on top of the palm of his hand, staring mischievously at her while she added on, "I hope you've come to chat, because I'm awfully lonely."
Amy rolled her eyes to the side. How a girl could be so desperate for a guy's attention sicken Amy. She may have looks but with those actions of her, how could she have been hired? Does she talk people into buying food? Flirt with them until they wasted money? Was that her specialty?
"I'm looking for Uncle Chuck? Have you seen him?" He asked her huskily.
"Aw, that hurts awfully bad. Why don't we go take a drink afterwards? What do you say?" She suggested, licking her lips.
Amy wanted to throw up right there and then. How could Sonic stand this, because looking at her was disgusting? A smooth arm made its way around her waist and then she was pulled against Sonic's body, so closed that she could smell his fresh minty scent. Sonic grinned at the butterfly and turned to Amy. "Sorry, but I'm taken,"
The butterfly looked bewildered and then she battered her eye lashes. She flushed and nervously looked at Amy. Amy didn't make any form of smile to show interactions. Amy pushed Sonic away lightly and bowed down her head slightly. "Hello."
"She's cute." She told Sonic with a smirk. "Anyway, Chuck's at the back."
"Thanks," Sonic said and with a head nod forward gestured for Amy to follow him. Amy inhaled harshly but trailed behind him to the kitchen's swinging doors. Inside the kitchen was infused with the smell of hot chili and cooked wieners. The workers in the kitchen worked fast and hard in making the food perfect and well cooked. Amy watched the workers pour their hearts into making these meals for the mobians outside waiting to take a bite out of a chili dog. It reminded her of how hard she had to be working too.
"Uncle!"
Amy turned and saw Sonic walk up to an old hedgehog, a large gray mustache and a vest for a suit, with open arms. The hedgehog was a lighter blue than Sonic thus meant this might be the uncle he had talked about. Sonic pulled away from Chuck and smiled. "It's been a while, uncle."
"But it's only been a month, Sonny boy." His voice was scratched and old, but for his age he still looked pretty young. Amy paused…how old was the man.
"Yea, but a month still is long."
His eyes roamed over to Amy who quietly stood behind Sonic. Chuck blinked and formed a wearily smile. "Hello?"
Amy opened her mouth about to introduce herself, but Sonic came to her side. He grinned and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "Uncle, his is Amy Rose. I brought her here because we're both hungry."
Amy wanted to smack him so bad. It was consider rude in first impressions that a boy wrap around his arm around a girl and the girl let him do it, but at the same time it was rude to speak so before introductions were made first. She was supposed to introduce herself. Chuck's eyes rose bewildered. Amy felt sweats of drops start to form from the embarrassment.
"Is she your girlfriend?" he asked in flabbergasted.
Sonic glanced at Amy and smiled. "Amy?"
"Sonic?!" Amy said is dismay.
"She's just a friend." Sonic responded calmly turning to his Uncle whose face fell drastically.
Amy flushed lightly and removed his arm off her. He approached Chuck and bowed her head. "I'm sorry for not introducing himself. It was rude of me to stay silent." She apologized.
Chuck smiled. "Amy Rose. Why must you apologize for something you didn't do? It's all fine. You shouldn't mind at all what Sonic does, just a tip from me to you." He whispered his last sentence, covering on side of his face with his hand so Sonic wouldn't hear them.
Amy didn't say anything because she was not at all expecting to hear such comforting words from a man whose nephew was the definition is vulgar. Sonic chuckled near her ear and then crossed his arms annoyed. "Can I have a table for two?"
Chuck laughed and nodded with his hands extended out towards the door. Amy turned and saw Sonic walking out the door. Amy sighed lightly and shook her head at him. Such a sad sight, she thought.
"Would you like me to spice you up something special on the menu today, Amy Rose?" Chuck asked walking to his own station on the kitchen. A small smile formed on her lips and she nodded. Who knew that two mobians from the same family could have different personalities? But not so much was different from the two. They were courteous, both of them his uncle more than Sonic, but still it was unlike what she's heard from school. Amy's smile faded as she walked away from Chuck and out of the kitchen. She was seeing something beneath his good looks and cocky self that she was not sure of. Trickery? Maybe, but she was ready to face what was behind these closed doors that no other mobian had yet entered in, maybe because she was the first to open them.
Wonder what she meant by "ready to face"
Oh well, wait to find out.
Until Weeks Pass. Adios :D
