Chapter Three
A Women's Wrath
Kazumasa served the bowl of soba onto the table, giving it to Tasai, "Eat up, Tasai."
Tasai grabbed the bowl and chopsticks, eating rather forced.
"Are you okay?" Kazumasa asked.
Tasai shook his head, "Why did dad leave ME behind? I thought he loves to take me to work."
"He does," Kazumasa sighed, "He just thought Katsu deserved a chance to go see the tower."
"Why? He's a bad kid."
Kazumasa raised a brow, "What?"
"He's always getting suspended, his grades slip, his room is always messy, why would he get a chance? He's a bad kid," Tasai said, with no care or concern in his voice.
Kazumasa scoffed, "Well that isn't very fair of you. Katsu is a good kid."
"No," Tasai shook his head, "I am the good kid. Dad says so himself. All the time, he says he wishes Katsu was more like me. I wish he wasn't here at all."
Kazumasa scowled, "That's enough. You will not put down your brother behind his back."
"So...I can say it to his face?" Tasai lit up.
"No!"
Tasai frowned, "Why not? If dad can say it, I should be allowed to say it!"
"Muteki's do not, attack from behind," Kazumasa growled, "Your bloodline is filled with warriors. Samurai, Ninja, Ronin, Heroes, legends. I am lucky to serve a family like this one. Muteki Honor. It is the honor I wish to learn."
"You can't," Tasai shook his head, "You're not a Muteki. You're a butler."
Kazumasa got angry at that.
But he slowly cooled down.
Tasai was an annoying brat, but in all honesty, it wasn't his fault. Asperger Syndrome took away his social skills and replaced them with IQ level.
"I can still try."
"And fail."
"Then I shall try again. Like Katsu does."
"He also fails."
Tasai pushed the bowl of soba away, "I'm the favorite son. Dad says so. Katsu is the bad apple."
"ENOUGH!"
Kazumasa didn't snap.
The voice belonged to someone who even made Tasai flinch.
Layla Muteki stood at the doorway, seething with rage.
"Your father is a very prideful person," Layla scowled, "A trait you picked up from him. Katsu has my stubbornness and heroes heart. This goes for Katsu too, but I don't want to hear ANY squabbles between you two. No fighting."
"Why? I'm better," Tasai said to his mom.
Layla whacked Tasai over the head with a sandal.
Tasai, shocked that his mother would do that, rubbed his head and looked up in confusion.
Layla scoffed, "Go to your room. Now."
Tasai held his hands up as if to ask what he did wrong.
Kazumasa gripped Tasai's shoulder and forced him away, giving a soft smile to Layla.
Layla smiled back.
Toshi Muteki's eyebrow perked up, and let a laugh escape his throat, "Excuse me?"
Edith Void smirked, "You heard me. I'm offering complete compensation of your countries equivalent of Seven Hundred Trillion U.S dollars, in exchange for complete and ABSOLUTE control of company shares and stocks."
Toshi scoffed, and laughed harder, "And what makes you think I would ever willingly agree to such a deal?"
Edith grinned, "Your kind would take money over anything."
"Is that SO?" Toshi scoffed, "Not all of us are greedy American PIGS!"
"That's racist, I can file a lawsuit right now," Edith Void smirked.
Toshi scowled, "Who called who's kind greedy?"
"You."
"So did you."
Void scoffed, "Please, I have more need and desire of this company then you do. I offer you this money, and you can kick back, and NEVER work a day for the rest of your life. Hell...you'll have enough money to manage your estate for seventy years.
"MY estate, is not some house in the hills! The Muteki Clan has held that mountain for centuries, and will continue to do so!"
"Sir," one of the shareholders started, "I highly recommend this deal. We all do."
Everyone at the table nodded in agreement.
Toshi INSTANTLY glared at all the men and women at the table and growled, "You're Void's lapdogs now?"
"Now now, Toshi, let's be civil," Edith grinned offering her clipboard, "Seeing as how a deal like this can only be accepted by the companies Overseer, You get the final say. However, if you would like to make some negotiations, that would be perfectly reasonable, we could come to some arrangement."
"There will be NO NEGOTIATIONS!" Toshi roared in frustration, and then gestured to his shareholders, "AND ALL OF YOU! HOW CAN YOU TURN TO SUCH TREACHERY?!"
They all roared in protested, and one sighed, "Toshi...this is Seventy Two quintillion yen!
"And not a PIECE of it will go to you," Toshi sneered in rage.
"WHAT?!" One shouted, "We made INVESTMENTS! WE DESERVE MORE!"
Toshi grinned, "YOU DESERVE NOTHING YOU SHARKS! I WOULD NEVER SELL THIS COMPANY! NOW OUT!"
One by one, they all left the office, some grumbling about actually taking up the offer of working for Void, and eventually Toshi was left alone with Void.
Edith Void sighed, "So I am afraid there will be no exchange?"
Toshi...
Smirked.
"You will NOT be taking the full company. I will remain the majority shareholder. You can buy some shares, after all...I think some shareholders are going to be returning there's soon."
Edith's lips went into an evil smirk, "How diabolical. You preached of treachery yet plan to make the deal anyway?"
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves," Toshi scoffed, "I am a business man. Make a deal I like, and perhaps we can be partners...but know that I will never grovel beneath you."
"As am I."
Edgar Von-Taven sighed, "This is a bad idea...we aren't even authorized to be here..."
"WHO CARES?! I need to work on my babies!"
The pink haired inventor was currently swimming in a container full of spare parts, while Katsu was watching, his head visible from the side of the container, (he was standing on boxes), and nervously sighing.
"So...who are you?"
"Not important!" she bellowed, "Never was! What about you?"
"Katsu Muteki," He answered.
"OH! YOU'RE Toshi's son! The one who he talks a LOT about!"
Katsu shook his head, dejected, "No...you're probably thinking of Tasai."
"Who's Tasai?"
Never had Katsu been more happier.
"He's a jerk."
"HAH! I've known plenty of those in my life! Mostly in UA!"
UA?
Wait...
"Wait do you mean UA HIGH?" Edgar Von-Taven asked, and then gasped, "YOU WENT TO SCHOOL AT UA?!"
"Damn straight!" she smirked, "I was there back in the days when ALL MIGHT was still around, and Power Loader was my homeroom teacher!"
"All Might?" Edgar asked, and whistled, "REALLY? You must have been there before the Kamino Ward Incident!"
"Yeah, I heard about it in my first year."
"FIRST YEAR?!" Katsu squealed, "Then YOU WERE THERE WHEN DEKU, GROUND ZERO, AND SHOTO WERE!"
"Now THAT'S a name I'd never forget!" the inventor bellowed, grabbing some part and another, connecting them together as it glowed blue, "Muscles…bright eyes...I helped Deku make his first gear!"
"HOLY SHIT!" Katsu screeched.
"Language!" Edgar sighed.
"Sorry...but that must mean you're-"
"FOUND IT!"
The pink haired inventor, grabbed a giant power core and pressed the broken pipes and wires into it, as it glowed a bright purple.
"YES! IT'S ALIVE IT'S ALIVE!"
Edgar heard the noises of footsteps coming down the hallway and past the storeroom, "Can we please get out of here? PLEASE?!"
The Inventor hopped out of the crate, and helped Katsu get down, grabbing him by his sides and setting him down.
She grinned, "Thanks for leading me here kid. Now I gotta get going to Mr. Muteki, and get my contract signed. You ever need me, here's my card."
She handed Katsu a small buisness card, and he studied it thoroughly.
Mei Hatsume
Custom Support Gear and Patent Woman
There was an address, but Katsu ignored that.
"You ARE Mei Hatsume!" Katsu shouted with glee.
Mei grinned, and bowed dramatically, "Good luck kid!"
She turned around and snuck out the door, as Edgar held Katsu back from following after.
Kazumasa shrugged, "It looks fine Mrs. Muteki."
"How many times must I ask you call me Layla," She asked, twirling in her new dress.
"At least once more Mrs. Muteki. As always."
Layla sighed, "Once a gentleman, always a gentleman, I assume?"
"You assume correctly," Kazumasa nodded.
Layla looked out the window and sighed once more, "Thank you for looking after Katsu. Unlike his father, I love both of them very much."
"No one is suggesting you don't," Kazumasa smiled warmly, "You are doing your job as a mother. And doing it grandly."
Layla shook her head, "Katsu is becoming more and more rebellious. Tasai and his father are not helping his struggles. I know he deals with issues on his self worth and meaning."
"I will do my best to nurture him...however, perhaps his mother could do more then a lowly butler."
"His mother can't be there everyday, life of a hero...but you can. There's no one I trust more with my son."
Kazumasa nodded, "I will not abuse that trust."
Layla wrapped her arms around Kazumada and sighed.
"I should have picked you..."
Kazumasa swallowed a gulp, and nodded, "You did your best...Mrs. Muteki."
Layla let a forlorn sigh, and let go of her hold.
"Perhaps Toshi can still be his father," Layla closed her eyes as she shrugged, "Perhaps he can prove that he is just as involved in his life as he is in Tasai."
Kazumasa nodded, "If he does...then perhaps Katsu will stop acting up. All he wants is his father's attention. But he's just used to the negative attention."
Layla nodded, "I agree...now, off to the gala. Look after Tasai. And you have my permission to punch him if you want to."
"A gentleman wouldn't dare," Kazumasa mocked, as Layla smirked and left the house in his care.
Toshi straightened his tie.
"Yes we have a deal."
Void stepped into her helicopter and smiled warmly, "Good. I'll get my research divisions to share their resources asap."
"And I will share my head doctors services for you."
"Good. My son will need them."
The Helicopter warmed up and took off, just in time for the door to be kicked down by the pink haired madwoman.
"Ms. Hatsume," Toshi warmly grinned.
"My invention, as promised," Hatsume handed it to Toshi like she was handing her a baby.
Toshi grinned, "Interesting...how does it operate?"
"It's an MATTER scanner! It keeps track of how many joules and watts a certain battery can contain. Not only that, but it can scan any object for structural or physical weakness."
"Is it safe to use?" Toshi asked.
"BAH! HELL NO! That's a prototype! And most of my prototypes have a...tendency to self destruct."
Toshi raised a brow, "Then remind me again, why I hired you under contract as my Hero Gear observer?"
"Because I happen to be the greatest inventor on the east side of the world," Mei flashed her eyelashes dangerously, "And you need my expertise to help get you over the edge on Void Industries."
"Yes..." Toshi smirked.
He was a business man.
Always ready to cut a deal that best suited him.
"Then I have a quota for you."
Mei grinned.
"I need a device capable of upgrading quirks..."
Mei raised a brow.
"Explain."
Toshi nodded, "Certainly. How many people can say they are dissatisfied with their quirks? I mean, we have a girl who shoots bubbles. Imagine if we can upgrade a quirk and improve it. Like upgrading Dark Shadow into the ability to control ANY shadow."
"That will take a lot of work...and is possibly impossible...but I LOVE A CHALLENGE!"
And that's chapter three. If it seems like it's lackluster, sorry, I was gone for a bit.
Enjoy the rest!
