Hello everyone! I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to come back. I've returned and I hope to continue to post more frequently! I'm sorry this chapter is a bit short, but I will continue on posting! Please let me know what you guys all think!
Waking up I look around the room, I'm still in the infirmary. Wincing slight I stand up and walk out of the room. Chopper has been keeping a close eye on me. The good doctor wants to make sure that I'm fully healed before he'll let me do anything. Which is troubling seeing as I am on their ship. My arm is healing nicely.
"How are you feeling?" Nami asks as she enters the room. An annoyed look on her face as we hear the guys getting rowdy. No doubt having a good time.
I wince slightly as I raise my arm. "Better everyday, Chopper definitely knows his stuff." I say positively. "I'm glad I don't have to get the blood transfusions any more." I say trying to sound unbeat. "Where are we?" I ask as I glance out the window.
Nami lets out a sight. "The Florian Triangle." Nami says in a not so positive way. "The guys are freaking Usopp out." Shes says dryly. "You think they'd be more concerned about the flare that went off." She mutters.
I glance to Chopper as Nami leaves the room. "Flare?"
"We set one off when we opened a barrel that we thought was an offering for the gods." He explains, his tone dripping with concern.
I nod my head understanding the cause for worry. "My arm is feeling a lot better." I tell Chopper as he watches me carefully push myself up with my good arm. "You're an amazing doctor."
Chopper blushes and dances at my compliment. "You bastard that won't make me happy."
I chuckle. Chopper opens the door leaving to the deck ushering me down to where everyone else is. I see that we're definitely in The Florian Triangle. The dense fog and sense of being watched strike me as I meet the others. "Usopp what are you wearing?" I ask baffled by his appearance. "Are we supposed to be running into vampires?" I ask as I motion to his garlic necklace.
"You don't know the dangers!" He says dramatically. "Azami you're freakish just like them." He says pointing to Robin and Luffy.
As he points a ship comes out from the fog sailing by us. An eerie feeling overcomes me as I look up to it'd deck. I blink surprised by the sight of a skeleton drinking something out of what looks like a teacup. Before I can really comprehend the situation, Zoro is having us pulling sticks to see who gets to explore what seems to be a haunted ship.
I watch as Nami, Sanji climb up after Luffy, one very much hating the idea of going. "Are you sure it's okay to send Nami, she didn't want to go." I say worried about my friend.
Zoro rolls his eyes. "She'll be fine."
It isn't long after they've climbed onto the ship that we hear Nami shriek. "Should of put money on it." I hear Usopp mutter to himself. I glance back and smirk at him. "What?"
"Put money on it that Luffy comes back with the skeleton." I say completely sure that that's what is going to happen.
"Nami and Sanji are supposed to be making sure that doesn't happen." Chopper says quietly.
I smile at him. "I think you've been with them long enough to know that's not going to happen." I say more than sure of myself. "You heard how excited he is."
"I think Azami is right." Robin chimes in thoughtfully.
Zoro lets out a sigh. "We can't trust anyone to keep Luffy in line." He mutters to himself. Even though this was his idea on drawing straws. While a good try, Luffy as usual proves to turn out on top.
It isn't long until they come back with the skeleton. "You were supposed to make sure this didn't happen." Zoro says to Sanji and Nami.
"What could we do, he is the captain." Nami says begrudgingly. This is hardly surprising seeing as Luffy's will to do what he wants is seemingly impossible to overcome.
I watch on a bit horrified as the skeleton dances, talks and asks unabashedly to see Robin's panties. I happily watch as Nami smashes is skull in a rather effective kick. "I know that I'm still new, but why isn't this surprising?" I ask Zoro as I partially shield myself from the skeleton.
"Brook, you have to try Sanji's cooking it's the best!" Luffy shouts enthusiastically.
Sanji unfazed by the statement heads to kitchen presumably to make dinner.
"Because it's Luffy." Zoro answers gruffly. "Come on, let's go train." Zoro says leaving the unfolding scene of Brook the skeleton entertaining Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper.
...
"Try turning to mist." Zoro says encouragingly while crossing his arms over his chest. I stare at him unsure. "You need to have more confidence, it could make the difference." By that he means life or death, being caught or escaping. It's something that I seriously lack. "Azami, you need to try." He says gently, I almost don't know what to do.
So I do. I do my best, I try forcing the shift in my body. And for a few moments I can hold my body in my mist state. It feels unnatural though. I take a deep breath and try to think of anything else, instead of trying to force is I let my body change. I let myself go for a moment and I know when I open my eyes that I've done it.
"What are you thinking about?" Zoro asks in a proud sort of way.
I look at him and I feel embarrassed and for a moment my shift falters. In a quiet voice and a blush creeping on my face I say "You."
Before we can say anything Sanji is calling saying dinner is ready. Nervously I walk off towards the dining room. I try fighting the blush off, I take my time getting to the dining room. By the time I make it there Zoro and the others are all seated and waiting eagerly.
I take my customary seat next to Chopper and Robin. "Is something wrong?" Chopper asks as Sanji serves me. "You took even longer than Zoro."
"I'm fine, just got distracted by all the fog." I say meekly. I avoid looking at the end of the table where Zoro is. I eat my food slowly, much slower than how Luffy and Brook are. I find that I spend the meal looking at my plate, the food is delicious, though the sounds coming from the other end of the table is a little nauseating.
It isn't long before we've all done. We listen to Brook's story about his old crew and how they'd died, about this whale the others seem to know. Glancing up I look in shock as the other take notice of a ghost.
"Your ship has been targeted!" Brook says standing up, "Good-bye my friends." He says rushing off with us following him, he jumps over the edge and down to the water. Amazingly he skirts across the water off into the fog.
