Today was Halloween; everybody dresses up as anything they want and go house to house asking for candy. Then others go party the night away, but tonight instead of partying it was a movie night. I was getting dressed in my costume as Poison Ivy. I know you're probably wondering why aren't you Harley Quinn, well Cindy and I thought it would be fun to dress up as best friends since Riley didn't want to do couple costumes with her. So she was going to be Harley Quinn and I was going to be Poison Ivy. I added a little bit of makeup before I could leave my house. I head a car beeping outside and I went to go check to see who it was. It was Huey and Riley in the car and Riley still unnecessarily beeping the horn.
I grabbed my phone and headed downstairs towards the front door. I was met with my parents who were dressed in their uniforms. They were putting candy in the bowl and they saw me heading towards the door. "And where might you be going?" my dad had asked me. "Cindy's house with the gang," I told him as he looked suspicious. "It's okay Tom, I told her she could go," my mom had told my dad. "Okay, but I thought you were passing out candy this year," he looked confused.
"Yeah, I decided to go hang out with Cindy and the others. I was thinking about parties, but I don't want to be involved in whatever is going to happen, so I'm going to a safe place with people I trust," I explained. "Okay...well have fun," my dad had given off a fake smile. I feel bad because I know he enjoys it when I spend Halloween with him and mom. "Okay, I will," I smiled. "Be home by midnight and no-" "Sex, drugs, alcohol, or doing anything illegal." I finished. "Bye!" I waved as I left the house. I ran to Huey's car because it was cold outside and I wasn't fully confident in my Poison Ivy costume. I hopped in the back seat covering myself a little bit.
Riley had looked back at me and asked "What took you so fucking goddamn long Jazmine?". "My parents," I answered as I looked at him and Huey closely. I was trying to see what they were wearing, but with me being in the backseat it was kinda hard. Huey had started his car and made his way to Cindy's house.
"So what are you guys dressed as?" I politely asked. "Myself, " Huey simply answered. I looked closely at his outfit to see he had on some camouflage joggers, a tight-fitting black shirt, and some combat boots. I not gonna lie Huey kinda look got as fuck looking like he is an action movie. I slightly bit down on my bottom lip, and then snapped out of it. I looked at Riley's costume to see he was a: gangsta. "So Riley what are you?" I asked just to be nice. "A wannabe gangsta, " I heard Huey mumble.
"Shut up, " Riley had hissed at Huey. "I'm not a wannabe I'm is a gangsta, " I just smiled to be nice. "Well it looks very nice, " "Thank you, Jazmine, at least somebody finds interest in my choice of wearing, " Riley said as Huey had rolled his eyes.
"Well as obvious as it seems I am Poison Ivy, " I said as Riley looked back looking me up and down. "You look good, nature for sure will accept yo' ass, " he had smirked as I smiled. I had heard a low growl from Huey and he hissed: "Don't you have a girlfriend who would get offended that you're flirting with her best friend?". "Nigga she ain't gonna care, shit she probably would say the same thing, " Riley carelessly had said. I didn't want to get involved so I didn't say anything.
For the rest of the ride, we all just sat in silence. We finally made it to Cindy's house and we saw Ceasar and Hiro's car parked outside. Huey had parked the car and Riley had quickly got out. Huey and I had looked at Riley run towards Cindy's house. "What's up with him?" I asked him. "I don't know, I guess he trying to see Cindy," he said turning off the engine. I looked at him and slightly put my hand on his shoulder. I felt him tense a little and he looked down. "Hey look I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable a couple of minutes ago," I apologized as he stayed silent for a couple of seconds and said: "You didn't make me uncomfortable,". "Okay, but I still apologize if we did and you just don't want to admit it," I said patted him on the back.
I got out of his car and jogged towards Cindy's door. I entered her house to see most of the gang in the kitchen. They had bags of candy, chips, and drinks. I didn't know if I was supposed to bring something. "Hey Jazzy!" Cindy ran over to me squealing. I smiled and ran towards her and gave her a big hug. We always hug each other like we haven't seen each other in years.
I took a step back and started to observe her Harley Quinn costume. She had on the same outfit like the one in the Suicide Squad. She even had the makeup and shaded hair color. "You looking good," I complimented. I heard the front door open and close to see Huey. "So is you with yo' fine ass, nature will accept you," she smirked.
"SEE NIGGA I TOLD YOU SHE WOULD SAY IT!" I heard Riley yell from the kitchen. I looked at Huey to see he had rolled his eyes at Riley's outburst. "What the fuck is Riley talking about?" she looked at me. "Something that he and Huey were discussing on the way over here," I told her as she awed. She looked back at Huey and then she slowly looked at me and smirked. "So how did you guys get McHater to come?" she asked. "Surprisingly Huey wanted to come," I smiled as she didn't seem to buy it. "I can't imagine!" she almost started to giggle.
Huey was in the kitchen with the others talking to Ceasar. "But by the way I love what you did with your costume," she looked me up and down. "Thank you, I had a friend of mines send it to me," I took a spin around. "Well, she did good on the designs that are for sure," she complimented. "I gotta tell you something, but I'm not sure if you're going to like it or not," she told me. I kinda had a feeling what she was going to say, but I didn't want to say anything. "And what might that be?" I played along. "I invited Austin here tonight," she smiled.
"Really?" I asked. "Yeah he's in the kitchen with the other's," she told me as I was a bit surprised because I didn't see him when I walked into the house. I looked behind her closely to see he was talking to Ceasar and Huey. "So what are you going to do?" she looked at him. I looked at her with my arms crossed and asked her "Why are you so interested in getting me and Austin together?".
"Well, the truth is because I secretly want me and Riley to be friends with another couple," she whispered into my ear. "Why don't you just couple date with Ming and Hiro or Ceasar and whoever he dates?" I asked her as she looked at me like I was dumb. "Ming and Hiro are always busy and Ceasar always dates a girl every week," she explained. "Plus Riley seems to get along with Austin," she looked at Riley and Austin now talking.
"Okay, I'll see what I could do if it gets you to stop begging," I told her. "Thanks, Jazzy," she smiled. I swear was like the real Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy because I saw an episode where Harley had to beg Poison not to do something. I think it was when she was trying to make an experiment to save the planet.
I headed over towards where the rest of the gang was at to talk to Austin. "What's sup Poison Ivy," I heard Ceasar say to me. I felt my face heat up and covered it because it's so embarrassing. I observed everybody else's costume to see Ceasar was just dressed in all black with a long trench coat. Hiro and Ming seemed like they did a couple's costume. Ming was dressed as Starfire and Hiro were dressed as Nightwing. I then had looked at Austin to see he was dressed in a casual outfit, but it looked nice. He might just be a character from a t.v. show.
"Hey Ceasar," I smiled at him. "What are you supposed to be?" I asked still looking him up and down. "I'm supposed to be Michael Myers, but I couldn't find my mask," he told me. "You guys hurry up the movie is about to start," she yelled from the living room.
Everybody grabbed the snack and I just grabbed a bowl of popcorn and went to go find me a seat on the couch. We sat most of the stuff on the table while Cindy picked a movie everybody voted on. I didn't want to watch any of the scary movies they had in mind, so I didn't pick.
The movie that everybody did pick was called Insidious. The movie was playing and all I had seen was them showing the house and then a little boy sleeping. It seemed kinda creepy that someone was watching him. I slightly looked around me to see who I was around; Ceasar, Austin, and Riley were sitting on the ground, Cindy sat on the couch eating some candy, and Hiro and Ming were cuddled up with each other.
Then right beside was Huey who seems uninterested in the movie. I leaned over to him and whispered "Huey what's this movie about?". I heard him sigh and tell me "It just about a boy who left his physical body and couldn't find his way back," "And-" I wanted more because that didn't seem like the scary part. "And there were a bunch of lingering spirits trying to steal his body," he told me as I felt goosebumps.
I sighed and just paid attention to the movie. It was getting a bit too creepy for me so I started to cover my eyes. I scooted close to Huey so he could be my eyes. He tensed when I awash against him. "Jazmine, you have all this room on the couch, why the hell are you up against me?" he scowled at me. "Because I'm scared and you don't seem to fear scary things, so I need you to tell me when the bad parts are over," I whispered still covering my eyes.
"Well there's no bad part going on now," he told me as I under covered my eyes to see a scary person at the windows. I screamed and everybody looked back at me frightened. Then I saw the boys laughing and I looked back at Huey to see he was covering his mouth. I smacked him in the stomach and he muffled something. I crossed my arms and slouched down into the couch.
Austin's looked back at me and asked "Are you alright?" I sat up and smiled at him. "Yes, I'm alright I was a little...surprised," I told him as he smiled and turned back around. For some reason, I don't feel a vibe between us. Austin is cute, but I just can't see it happening. I looked down at the floor, but I saw the fog. I thought it was just in my imagination, but I was actually seeing it. "Umm Cindy," I called her name as she took her attention off the movie. "Yeah," she looked at me as I pointed to the fog. "The fuck!" she got up off the couch and everybody looked at her. "What's the wrong C?" Riley asked getting up off the floor. Awe that's so cute that he got concerned.
"There's fog in here and it's cold," she told him as everybody looked down at the floor. I started to hear heavy breathing and saw a tall figure. I got up off the couch along with the others and we had paused. The person had got closer and when he was visible to all our eyes everybody was surprised. The person had on a Micheal Myers mask and then he had held up a knife. As soon as I saw that knife, Riley, Ceasar, and even Huey took off running. Riley had seen that Cindy was still standing in the same spot frozen and he ran back to get her.
I heard him say: "I will not let you be the first white girl to die," and then he had scooped her off. I would have thought that was funny if we weren't about to die. Ming, Hiro, and Austin went to the back, but not long after they had run back. I was nervous because it was taking them so long to unlock the front door. I looked behind us to see there was a clown and it was flipping over the furniture. Ceasar couldn't get the door to open, so Huey had stepped in front and had got the front door unlocked. The clown and Micheal Myers started walking towards us and we all ran out the door. Instead of running to the car, I started running towards my house. It was five blocks away from here, but I was in shape so I could get there without a sweat.
There was nobody outside because it was close to midnight. I was running as fast as I could, I wasn't even looking back at what was behind me. I finally made it back home after running down all those streets. I was at my front door and I had to check my pockets for my keys but I couldn't find them. I pulled the spare key from one of our flower pots and unlocked the door with it. I quickly closed the door from behind me and I was breathing hard. I observed my house and it was even foggy in here.
"MOM...DAD," I yelled out their names. There was no answer which had worried me. "MOMMY...DADDY," I cried their names out. I heard heavy breathing and I felt my heart start to beat even faster. My body trembled when I had seen two figures in the fog. When I saw their faces I had frozen. I couldn't move and I thought this was the of Jazmine Dubious. I crouched down to the ground and held on tight to myself.
Next thing I know Huey had busted through the door. I was finally able to move because I felt safe. Huey had looked mad, like so mad that he might kill somebody. Huey had run towards one of them who had screamed like a girl and started to run away from him. The other one was running too which kinda made me confused. "Wait for stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop," I heard a females voice. I ran to go turn on the lights to see Huey had a good grip around one of the scary figures.
They both had on masks and one of them decided to remove their masks. I had seen that it was my mom and I'm guessing the other one is my dad. Huey had dropped my dad and looked at both of my parents. He pitched the bridge of his nose and just said: "I have no words,". "Oh my gosh, why would you guys do something like this, and who were the others?" I angrily asked them. "The others are Robert, Ruckus, and the other parents. We all thought it would be funny to play a joke on you; because it's Halloween!" my dad told me. "But I got scared," I whined as they couldn't contain their laughter.
"Yeah along with you and the others, we got it all on video," they started to cry laughter. "That is not funny," I hissed at them. "Yeah your part isn't funny sweetheart, we didn't want to make you freeze, but we should've known better, so we apologized," my mom had apologized and hugged me along with my dad. "Would you like a hug too Huey?" my dad asked him as Huey just made his way out of the house.
"Well I guess that answer your question Tom," my mom had smirked. "Yeah, but Jazmine you gotta see the video," my mom had told me. "Is it that funny?" I asked them as they nodded. I know for a fact I'm going to be having nightmares for at least a week.
