*Laughs* I'm such a fucking dumbass! I was working on a Word document for one of my college classes and I had to insert a symbol. I've done a class on Microsoft Word back in community college like two, three years ago, so why the hell didn't I remember how to do it sooner?! I can use that to copy and paste the goddamn "o" with a line over it! I wanted to kick myself so badly when I rediscovered it.
She was fleeing from the humans. Along the way she encountered some foxes. To her surprise, she could understand what they said. They commented on how hard her journey had been and gave her their sympathy.
It all came back to Tamamo. Originally, she was the Divided Spirit of Amaterasu. She took an interest in humans, sealing her divinity and her memories to reincarnate as one. It was all to discover what it is to feel those emotions she found so intriguing. But now she remembers who she really is.
I...am the Nine-Tailed Fox.
Some of the Clansmen were taking Ruler out to see the city. She said she hasn't been out much as a Servant and even with the knowledge she gained from Laeticia on how things work she hasn't actually seen them. She wanted to see how much humans have advanced since during her time. Most likely, similar to Lancer's reaction when Mikoto took the spearman out for the first time, she'll gaze at trains and cars all the way to street lights with a childlike curiosity. But she also asked about planes and "how are they able to stay airborne?!"
Meanwhile, Izumo and Mikoto were in Izumo's van, heading to Touko's place, somewhere named Garan no Dou. "Like a lotta mages, Aozaki's got a foot in the underworld. While she appears as a toy store owner, she actually handles shady dealings, mage-related ones," Izumo said after a turn. "I've been in the place before, so I'll just warn you there's a bounded field around the store. It makes people not want to enter, which helps to hide the operation."
Eventually, the van stopped in front of an abandoned-looking building. The first floor looked run-down.
Mikoto was taking this in. "She's really here?"
"Yes. This is just to deter people. She's on the second floor." He and Mikoto went up the stairs to the second floor. Izumo knocked on the door before the two. After a few moments, Izumo knocked again, more insistent this time. "Dammit, Aozaki! I know you're there! I can smell the Dragon Smoke cigarettes!"
"Stop being so loud, Kusanagi. What, are you looking for all of Shizume to hear? Shut up and come on in." Izumo swung the door open, intending to give Touko a piece of his mind for the rude way she's treating him. In the middle of a cluttered office a woman was currently smoking a cigarette, looking like she just woke up. Red eyes went to the two who just entered and she quickly smothered her cigarette in an ashtray on her desk and tried to straighten her messy red hair. "Is the person with you Mikoto Suoh?"
"Yes, and what the hell's your problem with me today?! Ya weren't like this on the phone!"
"My glasses were on at that time. As you can see, they aren't now."
"What does that mean?!"
Touko sighed and grabbed a pair of glasses from her desk, putting them on. "I'll tell you later. I'm sorry you had to see that side of me."
Izumo sweatdropped. The hell? Her demeanor changed all of a sudden.
She gestured to a back room. "Let's do this. Right this way, Suoh. Feel free to make yourself comfortable, Kusanagi."
He started walking over there. "Just Mikoto is fine."
"So you prefer to be addressed by your given name?" The two entered a room full of puppets. In the center was a large table with a light hanging over it. "Just sit there." She pointed to a chair by the table. "I'll need to remember to add high heat resistance to the arm..."
"You're seein' to me quickly," Mikoto said after sitting.
"I owe Kusanagi a favor. He bailed me out when I was rendered broke. I'll be making a high-quality arm free of charge. About your issue, you get your arm severed for your Command Seal?"
"What?!"
"Don't look so surprised. Cutting off the arm with the Command Seal is a typical way for Masters to steal the strokes."
Mikoto unconsciously grabbed his right shoulder. "Wasn't a Master...It was my Servant..."
"You two not get along or something?"
"It's a long story..."
"Kusanagi gave me a rundown of the situation, but not the details."
As she was working on the arm, she simultaneously took a brief break every now and then to look at Mikoto's left arm then returned to working, her brow knitted in concentration. Though she was trying to cover it with perfume, Mikoto could pick up the faint smell of blood from Touko every time she came over. During it, she actually looked to be manipulating muscles and blood vessels in the fake.
While continuing to make the prosthetic, she spoke up. "Kings, Clansmen, and Strains aren't born with magic circuits, which allows the user to cast magecraft. Rather, your magic circuits were acquired through an outside source. These are called pseudo magic circuits. Any humans who get made Clansmen are also granted pseudo magic circuits, which can't be taken away. That's why they still have supernatural abilities even when their King - an Extra-Alpha Strain - dies. And since it was recently learned by the Association that Strains are 'failed Kings', the Slate is also what gives them circuits. Unlike the other two cases, Kings obtain a Sword of Damocles, a vessel of ether, and the more of the a substance similar to the Imaginary Element Nothingness is collected in the vessel, what the mana from the Slate becomes after it's used, the more the Sword degrades. Nothingness gathers in the core of the Sword and will cause the Sword to stop defying gravity once it reaches a certain point and will collide with the ground, releasing the accumulated Nothingness."
That's what a Weismann Level actually is; the amount of the Nothingness-like element. Emotional and mental instability can cause mana to be used needlessly, even unconsciously, and that Imaginary Element gets accumulated. A King slaying a King will cause the King's Sword to take in some of the slain King's Nothingness, even more if the Sword gets exposed to a Damocles Down. However, as those could be common in the War, the Dresden Slate will have the mana and each Sword's Nothingness get retained during these moments for those battles. The ley line the Slate's connected to is thought to also be connected to the Reverse Side of the World, a paradise untainted by humans, under humanity's layer, where Age of the Gods still exists, which is why its able to gather a ton of mana quickly. It had also had a bunch of mana stored before being pulled out of dormancy, having been absorbing mana since Age of the Gods. In other words, the Slate's a Magical Reactor Core.
"As Kings do have circuits, they can produce their own mana and will be able to continue using magecraft even if they get cut off from the Slate. But the output's low. If they start having the Slate increase the output for higher ranking magecraft, the event will make their Sword appear. Unlike natural magic circuits, pseudo magic circuits aren't hereditary and can be strengthened during certain conditions. For Clansmen, it's from being in range of their King's Sanctum. For Kings, it's from using the Dresden Slate's mana along with their own." Touko released a sigh, pushing a stray strand of red hair behind her ear. "Alright, I think I'm done building the arm."
"Already? That was fast."
"I've been doing this for years. Now let's get it on you."
While those two were in the back room, Izumo took this chance to have a look around Touko's office. First thing he saw, she really needs to clean out her ashtray. He's heard her complain about how bad Dragon Smoke tastes, so why does she keep insist on smoking them? One of the multiple boxes by her desk was open and Izumo saw a strange item within. Why does she have a Ouija board?
After some time passed, the door to the back room opened with Touko and Mikoto emerging. Mikoto was wearing the new right arm, but it looked so real that you couldn't tell it's a prosthetic.
"So Mikoto, I've connected the prosthetic to your soul's pseudo magic circuits. This will allow it to utilize your power. Materialize fire over your entire right arm. I want to see if I was successful in making it withstand extreme temperatures."
Izumo looked like he had just been sucker-punched. "You didn't check before?!"
"I forgot to, but I think I pulled it off."
Following his mental order, magenta flames enveloped his right arm up to the shoulder. Nothing looked to be out of the ordinary.
Touko had her arms crossed in thought. "It amazes me. You Kings aren't magi. However, you use magecraft. And high-level magecraft at that, all without any training. It's a point of envy for actual magi. Getting back to the subject of the replacement, that arm, like your original, will allow you to feel through it and can even bleed. I even strengthened it so it won't break even if an elephant steps on it."
Izumo grinned. "Looks like this'll work."
The flames went away. "Maybe. But it still feels a little odd."
"You'll get used to it. I've also added a function where you can send out a spiritual arm to grab ghosts and other non-physical objects. I've heard that this kid, Kuroh Yatogami, has a similar ability but the arm isn't invisible and he can't grab things that aren't material." There were a few knocks on the door and Touko looked to stiffen up. "Don't answer it!" she hissed. "Why didn't the bounded field urge the person to leave?!"
There was a sigh at the door. "It's just us."
Touko visibly relaxed, recognizing the voice. She went over to the door. "Jeez, Shiki! It wouldn't kill you to call first!"
"Too troublesome." The door opened and two people, a man and woman, walked in. The black-haired woman spoke up. "Touko, I found out you were hiding in Shizume instead of Mifune, so Mikiya and I came to see you. Are you seeing to someone right now?"
"Where are my manners? These two are Red King Mikoto Suoh and his second-in-command Izumo Kusanagi. I'd like to introduce Shiki Ryougi and Mikiya Ryougi. Both used to work here at Garan no Dou until they got married. Well, at the one in Mifune."
Izumo finished shaking their hands. "Ryougi...Isn't that an infamous yakuza family?"
"Yes, that's how the Ryougis tried to blend in since the Demon Hunter Organization broke up."
"Demon Hunter Organization?" Izumo echoed.
Touko sighed. "Is it alright if I tell them?"
"Go ahead."
Touko looked at Mikoto and Izumo. "There used to be four families that hunted demons. But they broke apart after the practice wasn't deemed necessary. These families stood out because they possessed psychic powers. ESP is essentially the same as magecraft except the magic circuits are located in the brain instead of the soul and typically can't be passed down. Though it's rare, some descendants can have psychic abilities. One example is Fujino Asagami, related to the Asakami family. Hers were powerful telekinesis, manifested as the Mystic Eyes of Distortion. She twisted Shiki's left arm, making it unusable, and it had to be replaced with one of my prosthetics."
"She still on the loose?" Mikoto asked.
"Yes. However, she's blind now. Unfortunately she gained clairvoyance, allowing her to see even things not in her sight, so she's still able to be a threat if you get on her bad side. Shiki's another example. Her family is able to create dual personalities, but those with the Origin of Emptiness are desired for a perfect split. Shiki has that Origin but also has a connection to the Root. Long story short, this connection enabled her to use the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception after her male personality died and left her in a two-year coma. These eyes allow her to see the death of anything in the form of lines and points. Hitting these imposes death on the target. I wonder if she could solve the Servant problem Kusanagi described to me?"
"Please tell me you're joking. While my Mystic Eyes of Death Perception would allow me to one-shot a Servant by severing its lines and points of death, their capabilities are too high to let me get close enough. Kings would have a much better chance, even without these mystic eyes," Shiki told her.
Touko smirked. "Wow, Shiki. You're actually admitting this to be a near-impossible task even for you. Could it be you've grown up some?"
"Shut up." Mikiya just laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
Touko continued wearing that sly grin before switching her gaze back to Mikoto and Izumo. "Mystic eyes can be a problem if they're always active. It's why I invented these." Touko held up a pair of glasses.
Mikoto stared at the woman in confusion. "Huh? They just look like an ordinary pair of glasses."
"These are Mystic Eye Killers. Wearing them blocks the effects of the wearer's mystic eyes without the need for wearing a blindfold, allowing them to go out in public. I know a guy who knows a guy who knows someone in SCEPTER 4. Basically they requested to buy a pair from me to deal with a Strain's mystic eyes since they didn't want to keep her blindfolded. It was apparently making it hard for her to take care of herself in their jail. Their power-dampening handcuffs turn out to not be very effective on mystic eyes. Mystic eyes can typically be a problem for another reason. Since they manifest on the body, a person can steal them by gouging the eyes out. I gave SCEPTER 4 a message to up security to prevent any break-ins. They can also be worn by people to hide their mystic eyes even if they aren't always active."
"They're that valuable?"
"They're only created by a mutation of the magic circuits around the eyes. Like ESP, they only manifest by chance. Having them basically makes you a first-rate mage."
"Are what you're wearin' Mystic Eye Killers? Or are they regular glasses?" Mikoto pointed to the glasses Touko wore.
"I highly doubt you want to be hit with my Mystic Eyes of Enchantment," Touko answered with a sigh. "Lucky for you, even if I removed them, my left eye isn't continuously active. However, you could be witness to that nasty side of myself again."
"Well, thanks for the thought, I guess...I don't think I'll look at people wearin' glasses the same now..." Izumo mumbled.
"They cost a shit ton of money for me to make just one pair, so they aren't mass-produced. That is if my damn sister didn't somehow discover how I make them and leaked it in order to make money!"
Izumo couldn't help but sweatdrop. He could tell Touko was starting to become irritated by her only mentioning Aoko so he had a feeling they shouldn't stick around long enough to find out if what Mikiya's wearing are also Mystic Eye Killers. "We're gonna go if there's nothing else. It's almost time for lunch."
Touko's red eyes narrowed at the bartender. "Remember -"
"I know, I know. Keep your location secret."
"Last thing I want is the Association catching me."
"Why does she wanna avoid the Mage's Association?' Mikoto asked as he and Izumo exited the door.
"She apparently has a Sealing Designation on her," Izumo replied in a whisper. "And before ya ask, I don't know what that means. All she'll tell me is that havin' it is basically a death sentence if she's caught. She also said it's a 'great honor' by the Association to get one, though she said that with a scoff and sneer. She's very pissed at Clock Tower for revokin' then reinstatin' it. It's why she does a lotta underground business."
"You're back, King!" Tatara greeted when Mikoto and Izumo entered the bar. "How's your new arm?"
"It still feels a little odd, but at least it functions right." He looked at Ruler, who was sitting in one of the booths. "Ruler. Do ya have any other information to share?"
"Jeanne isn't out right now. She currently debating with herself. I don't know about what, though." The woman stood up and bowed. "I'm Laeticia, the vessel for Jeanne d'Arc."
Yō released an exaggerated sigh. "So they're able to switch...This'll get confusin'..."
"Ya still wearin' Ruler's appearance or somethin'?" Misaki asked. There was no visible change in the blond woman.
"Technically yes. However, my physical appearance is similar to Jeanne's, one of the reasons I was selected to be her vessel."
"So this is how ya look," Izumo summed up. "Well, it's a pleasure to meetcha."
"About Servant Lancer, while his first life was certainly full of heartbreak, it's unknown how much it's mentally affected him."
"I saw it. While he forgives others, the one person Lancer refuses to forgive is himself," Anna said sadly, her red gaze fixed on the wooden flooring. Her looking into his mind also subjugated her to the incredible weight of his self-hatred. "He believes he's committed far too many sins and is evil, despite having people who continued to love and stay by his side, despite being regarded as a great hero."
Laeticia held her chin in thought. "In that case, he could become extremely violent if pushed too far. Even though I saw through Jeanne that his new alignment is Chaotic Evil, I didn't know how severe it'd be."
"Ya have a Master's clairvoyance or somethin'?" Mikoto asked, sitting down on the couch. He was quickly joined by Anna.
"A Class skill of Rulers is True Name Discernment. It's similar to the clairvoyance of Masters but this allows the Ruler to see all of a Servant's stats, including their True Name, even without any information being obtained beforehand. Since I'm Jeanne's vessel, I can see the information as well but only through her eyes." Her violet eyes suddenly hardened. "I'm going to interrupt Laeticia briefly. I promise that once I'm done I'll let her regain control."
Izumo looked baffled by the woman's sudden change in demeanor. "Wait, Ruler..?"
She nodded. "That's correct."
"What I said before..." Yō grumbled.
"This is about the Grail War, the truth of it, and the enemy in the Greater Grail. Its name is Beast of Revelation, or Beast VI. Beasts are the manifestations of humanity's sins, great evils brought forth by mankind. As long as the sin they embody exists, they can continue to eventually return from the dead, though it can be in a different form. I had no prior knowledge that a part of Beast of Revelation remained from 1999 and is now in the Greater Grail. The reason that Alaya created the Throne of Heroes is to have full Heroic Spirits, called Grand Servants, wipe out any of the Beasts that Gaia manifests. Less powerful versions try to prevent any chain of events that will ultimately lead to humanity going extinct as well as to defeat any other agents of Gaia that get sent out. Beast of Revelation embodies All the Greed in the World. That's why it was in the Holy Grail, a chalice of greed, before. You already know this, don't you, Anna?"
Anna had her gaze fixed on her lap. "A bit. But I'm only the Lesser Grail. I know of Beast, but not that it had taken refuge in the Greater Grail."
"Three people were responsible for creating the Greater Grail. They are Nagato Tohsaka, Zolgen Makiri, and Justeaze Litzrich von Einzbern. Their intent was to regain the third True Magic, Heaven's Feel - the materialization of a soul. A thousand years ago, the Einzberns gained but then lost the sorcery. So with the aid of the Tohsakas and Makiris, a method for opening a way to the Root - the source and record of all creation and magecraft - was made at the cost of Justeaze's life in 1991, ending her centuries-long pursuit of Heaven's Feel. She volunteered to become the core of the Greater Grail while the family would continue pursuing the magic in her place since only her magic circuits could serve as the Greater Grail's foundation. This was first known as the Heaven's Feel Ritual. But only one wish could be granted. So conflict broke out over who it'd be. Also, the sacrifice of seven Servants were needed, so outsiders were called in to fill the remaining four slots, promised the chance to get a wish granted if they participated. They were only pawns for summoning the sacrifices. Only powerful souls, the purest of mana, could open the intended path, so the Three Families set their sights on the powerful souls kept in the Throne.
But something crucial was overlooked when the Grail system was made. The Grail's contents are spiritual. So as only a Servant not possessing a human can claim the Grail for their Master, just six Servants could be sacrificed, any neutral Servants such as myself not included since we don't get burned in the Grail for some reason. While this amount of mana could grant most wishes, it would be unable to open a path to the Root. Only Justeaze would be able to bypass this, as she was the only one compatible with the Dress of Heaven, a Mystic Code that would allow the wearer to directly interact with the core of the Greater Grail. Upon learning this, the Three Families fell into despair and abandoned any hope of getting Heaven's Feel. The magic circle used to make the Greater Grail gathers mana after each War and distributes it among the seven chosen Masters to summon the seven Servants in the next. This greed for a wish gathered in the Grail, forming Beast of Revelation. There is speculation among the few members of the Church who know the truth about the War that it was purposely planted into the Grail after the First War by a supernatural force such as an agent of Gaia as a way to teach humanity a lesson for their infinite greed, but it's only a theory unless we learn the truth. Regardless, even if a wish is entrusted to the Grail, not only will it free Beast but the wish, no matter what it is, will only be granted through death and destruction."
Izumo gave an empty laugh. "So that means all the death and sufferin' caused in pursuit of the Holy Grail was meaningless?! Are ya kiddin' me?!"
"So we're just a buncha damn puppets!" Mikoto snarled. Then he glared at Ruler. His aura began to blaze. "Wait a minute. Ya knew 'bout all this yet chose to keep quiet until now?!"
"I'm not to interfere with the Grail War unless an emergency arises. This situation qualifies as one." She removed her purple jacket and turned her body around, showing the others the four-winged Command Seal on her exposed back, large enough to cover most of it. Two of the marks were faded. During this, Misaki went red. "I have two Command Seal strokes for each Servant fighting, but I can only use two strokes on each Servant. But just with the ones I obtained at the start of the War. I'm actually able to obtain more strokes to punish any Master who breaks the rules. These can be transferred to another Master or I could used on any Servant. I first use a stroke to make the Servant unable to interfere while I use my position as a Servant to force the Master into submission. As Overseer, I'm able to remove strokes from a Master's Command Seal. Depending on the punishment's severity, I could remove the Command Seal altogether. It seems Beast's power is able to overcome even my Command Seal. So I can't force any orders on Lancer. And I have a feeling that if this situation doesn't get resolved soon Alaya might deploy Grand Servants to clean it up. If that happens, who knows how much of this country will remain. Grand Servants tend to be destructive in these scenarios to wipe away as much evidence of what happened as possible."
"I'm curious," Tatara spoke up, this question continually eating at him. "Why all this concern for humans? There are other species on the planet."
"Because humans became the planet's most influential species instead of gods, ending the Age of the Gods and changing the natural laws the planet works with, including Gaia being split into Gaia and Alaya. Other species aren't independent from the planet. So they're still under Gaia's protection, though it prioritizes the planet more." For some reason, this conjured up an image of a parent crying that their child left them. But, in this case, the parent also wants the child dead before they die.
That's also why phenomena that can't be explained with science - Mystery - needs to be kept from the general public as much as possible. Things like magecraft. Unlike Age of the Gods, the dominant species believes more in science. So then whenever magecraft is seen and remembered by a member of the dominant species, the more it loses its power. That's the reason for wiping the memory of non-mages seeing it or killing them for that reason. The partnership between the Clans and the Mage's Association is why Daikaku has his Usagi wipe the memory of any witnesses to supernatural events. This is just a way to preserve remains of that time. Eventually, magecraft will vanish entirely. The only way that can be prevented is to release the Dresden Slate's power, which will slowly change the Order of the world back to Age of the Gods.
The Slate was created by spiritual beings fearing the end of Age of the Gods, this possibility being as unbearable as Gaia dying, and was hidden to prevent its destruction. Unfortunately, the change of Order with Age of Man sealed much of its power. Then the Silver King unsealed it but the Gold King began halting its ability to change the Order back to Age of the Gods.
"Ruler. Do ya remember other times ya were summoned into the world?" Mikoto asked, a serious expression on his face.
"I don't. Why?"
"Just wanted to know." Then he muttered under his breath, "so not even a Ruler remembers."
"Are there any other questions?" The saint's gaze slowly scanned all the Clansmen. When she saw no indication, she continued. "Needless to say, if the Holy Grail grants a wish then the Human Order could be burnt to the ground if even Grand Servants can't stop it in time."
On top of the Greater Grail sat a humanoid form. Sitting next to him was a wolf. "I doubt the Red King will just let me go, and Ruler won't either. When they come here, we'll make sure they don't leave alive, Failinis."
"So Zolgen, Nagato, and Justeaze were the start of this nightmare..." Adolf murmured. The Church had informed him over the phone about the origin of the Holy Grail War. It was apparently on Ruler's orders since it's clear the War's getting out of control. "Looks like we need to clean up their mess they left. The question is how?"
"...I have the Dress of Heaven sealed in the Dresden Slate," Daikaku reluctantly admitted. A powerful Mystic Code worn by Justeaze when she became the core of the Greater Grail. By collecting all seven Servant souls, it can preform a miracle.
Adolf looked shocked. "How?!"
"It's a long story, but I basically managed to get it from the Einzberns some time after the First War ended. They withheld any information regarding its application with the creation of the Grail, so I was in the dark with this news as well. It can only be worn by certain people, so I had it stored away for until this War ends. If it was worn to create the Greater Grail, then perhaps it can end it."
"If it goes the same way as with Justeaze, then someone will end up sacrificed," Adolf replied firmly. "Let's try to find another way."
There was suddenly some high-pitched screaming coming from outside the Chamber of the Slate. The two Kings went out into the hall to see what the commotion is. Neko was running around in wide circles. Chasing the Strain and throwing fireballs at her was Caster. Adolf could see right away that Caster had reduced her speed to a human's and her fire didn't look fierce enough to kill one, meaning she only intended to teach Neko a painful lesson.
"I'm sorry I stepped on your tail!" Neko cried out.
"You'll be sorry when I'm done with you!" Caster snarled back.
Daikaku sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Caster, don't go overboard and burn the Tower down..."
"Just got a call from the Church," Tenkei announced. "We're to temporarily stop any fighting until the Alter problem gets solved. Ruler's orders."
Sukuna glanced at him. "Is it really that bad?"
"I only know what the current orders are." He grabbed a beer out of the fridge and cracked it open. "Should we think about maybe teaming up with the Silver King?"
"I dunno how smart that'd be," Saber took over. "Say we get attached. When the problem's solved and we return to a fight to the death, who will have the guts to pull the trigger first?"
"As much as I'd want to join forces with Adolf K. Weismann, Saber's right," Nagare conceded. "Our position should remain the same. Once the issue has been resolved, we'll steal the Dresden Slate and Greater Grail."
Tenkei just blinked several times. "I'm still trying to process the fact Saber was the one who thought this through. Is hell gonna freeze over now?"
Saber laughed humorlessly. "Hardy har har." Then she winced as pain from her abdomen shot up her body. "Damn him..! It wouldn't be so slow at healing if he just died!"
Tenkei plopped down on the couch with a sigh. "Admit it. You're secretly happy that he's still around."
"And why is that?!"
Tenkei noticeably looked to make sure his Servant was next to him before responding. "You have a crush on him, that's why."
Saber immediately went bright red. "O-Of course not! Did Rider say that to you?!"
"He didn't need to. It's obvious. Before he became an Alter, you seemed fixated on him."
"Not to mention you were really insistent on fighting him at the Greater Grail," Sukuna added.
Yukari was checking his nails for any breaks. "You're passionate about fighting him in particular."
"Th-That's because he's a fighter I consider my equal is all! That doesn't mean I have feelings for him!"
"Your equal? But when I linked to you, you said 'I'm the strongest'," Nagare piped up with only a glance at his Servant. "If you truly believed that, then you would have regarded Lancer the same as any other Servant. I believe that Mr. Iwa's right. He does encompass a large majority of your attention and I believe it's because you are infatuated with him."
Saber grit her teeth and released an angry breath through her nose. "...Why did you have to say that, Master?"
Jeanne: We Heroic Spirits are only to lend a hand. That's all.
Mikoto: Lancer, we're gonna kill ya here and now!
Cú Chulainn: Get ready, 'cause here I come!
Jeanne: Defend me during my prayer!
Cú Chulainn: Your heart's mine!
Izumo: Mikoto! You're back!
Kousuke: Anna?
Mikoto: Sorry I'm late, Tatara.
Saruhiko: The lieutenant went out of her way to inform me.
Next chapter: Farewell
