Chapter 48: Bardock's Redemption

Time seemed to Freeze when the tyrant in his new monstrous transformation fired that death beam. The fatal attack that would shape the structure of the universe for many years to come.

Bardocks life was flashing before his eyes, the older Sayian was born after the Sayian's took over the now planet Vegeta after the great war with the Truffles to a third class family. Like all of his class he was sent off to a "Training planet" which was promoted as an advanced training course. Weak Sayian babyies would be sent to weak planets be raised by the locals or just live of the land before clearing the planet ready for sale.

It was seen as on the job training a way for a Sayain child to grow stronger at their own pace but really it was just a segregation tactic a way to separate the weak from the strong. Power was everything to the Sayian race and time and effort was not wasted on the weak first class children or the elite where trained on Plant Vegeta and educated they where being moulded to be the generals and leaders of the next generations. The Sayian's with the most potential would be paired with an adult Sayain and would go on mission's with then in order to expand their knowledge.

Needless to say the death's of third and second class children was exceptionally high, The first and the elite where relatively low mainly in fighting between themselves. Bardock had always suspected that sending the babies of Third and Second class warriors off planet was a way of dwindling their numbers but their was nothing that could be done the power gap kept growing.

Their had only been one exception Bardock himself. The third class Sayian was a prodigy of his class with most Sayian's sent to other planets completing this missions if they survived by the age of Sixteen when they would be picked up and brought into the army. Bardock had completed his mission by the age of five which was unheard of the youngest before him being eleven it was simply unheard off.

He was soon picked up and returned to Planet Vegeta only to find that his parents where dead which was not unusual. Third class Sayian's didn't live long their life expectancy was around thirty years old. Only the strong survived.

Having return home Bardock was put to test challenge to see if he was worthy to train amongst the first class the odds where of course stack against him and in the truth he stood no chance facing two teenage first class their was no chance he would win he was beaten handily. Looking back now Bardock was sure he scared the upper class Sayian's with his achievement that they would not allow a third class warrior born with a weak power level grow stronger than them.

As such he was sent away to another planet and then another. After wiping out five planets at the age of ten he was then sent to pickup the slack of planets where children that where not successful it was on one of these missions he meet Celina. She was a curious case having hit her head as a child the programming of the Sayian's ship had been wiped out completely she had been risen as a native her power level so low the scanners of the planet thought she was dead.

She had begged Bardock not to kill her "Family". Celina was five at the time and had flew into a rage which greatly increased her power but was still nothing compared to Bardock who knocked her out and took her with him. The Sayian had wanted a companion he wanted to create his own team like the upper class above him did. Though the upper class never recognised him as a general he was permitted to keep Celina on as a partner. Over the years the two grew closer and past mis-deeds by Bardock where forgiven as Celina grew to love the man though she still would rarely kill only in self defence.

The group slowly grew Bardock recruiting more to his little group in order to face stronger foes and take on more powerful planets. He quickly grew into a legend of sorts well amongst the third class Sayian's at least and the birth of his first son Raditz was an exciting moment yet ultimately a disappointment he was a runt a weakling even by third class standards and had probably only survived his mission due to Bardock's interference. And even then it was only because Celina had begged him to save her son.

Then Kakarott had been born with an even lower power level just proving yet again that third class no matter how much stronger they become only produced runts. Bardock had been so angry that he had left Celina behind when he went on the most dangerous mission as of yet with his team. Planet Kanassa that was where his life had truly change where he was gifted the power to see into the future. The alien resident had told him the future visions where a curse upon him that he will see his own demise.

But it had been a useful tool to use in already powerful arsenal Bardock had never understood what he had meant about a curse of seeing his own fate his own death. Until now.

He saw multiple visions flash before his eyes as the death beam came ever closer to it's target Goku.

First was his son's death by the hand's of Friezia right hear right now and then Bardocks later tortured death that he had seen earlier.

Then was the vision where he stood up and jumped in front of the death beam and saved his son where he died.

The choice was obvious Bardock knew what he had to do he had to save his son it was the universe only hope of survival Bardock knew it was the only way he stood up the orange aura of the Phomix Fire technique ablaze around him but an old foe stood in his path blocking his way to his son.

"I see you are still a fool" The Kanassa warrior spoke quietly but the power of his voice hurt Bardock on a deeper level from within.

"Get out of my way" Bardock roared his fist tightening even though his chest was bursting in pain.

"NO" The Kanassa warrior replied back simple. "Why should i?"

"Because i need to save my son, He's the only hope of defeating Friezia!"

"Make me" The Kanassa said coldly before turning his back on the Sayian a sly smile on his face.

In an instant Bardock fist past though the Kanassa warrior along with the rest of his body before the Sayian smashed against the floor in a heap. regardless of the pain he felt from his landing Bardock quickly got back to his feet the area around them was now completely black. The two of them where just facing each other as time seemed to stop.

"I need to save my son!" Bardock roared his teeth gritted in anger.

"You can lie to yourself but you can't lie to me. You haven't change since you killed my people. even if you say that your intentions are pure. Their not. You know that Saving your son is the best chance YOU HAVE TO LIVE!"

"Thats not true" Bardock roared smashing his fist against the Kanassa face only for the fist to phase through.

The Kanassa smiled at the Sayian futile attempt to attack him as Bardock clutched his chest in intense pain.

"See still the same old Sayian trying to resolve everything in violence! You would kill me if you could to get what you want. Your still selfish prepared to kill innocents to get what you want!"

"Listen!" Bardock muttered though gritted teeth raising his hand a Ki blast crackling around his fingers. "I am going to save my son and if i have to blast you away so be it"

"You keep saying this save your son!" The Kanassa warrior sneered. "The same son you tried to kill? the same son who you stole his child from for your own selfish gains? Why do you want to save him?...You know why?"

Bardock fired the Ki blast in frustration but it merely like all his other attack phased though the warrior who just merely smiled.

"You know your dead either way. but you hope that sacrificing your life now will save you in the long term. You hope that your son will revive you with the Earth dragonballs."

Bardock reacted instantly lunging forward swing his fist forward but yet again it phased though the Kanassa but this time the warrior threw his own punch into the Sayian's stomach and it was solid and it was powerful.

Bardock feel to his knees clutching his stomach in pain blood splattering out of his mouth as he coughed.

"Did you really think i just gave you my power's that day" The Kanassa asked coldly. "I knew you where arrogant but did you truly believe you would be capable of future sight by yourself. You Sayian's might be strong in body but us Kanassa's are strong in mind and soul. That day when you killed me ended my race i transferred a part of my mind, my soul into you and their i remained hidden watching waiting. Your visions? I have only shown you what i wanted you to see i have been guiding you to your death since the beginning!"

"But why make the rest of the universe suffer!" Bardock coughed "Even if you don't believe me. You must see that Kakarott is the only hope of defeating Friezia"

"Why should i care" The Kanassa smiled grimly. "It will not save my people they have been dead for years. why should i save others when no one saved us?"

Bardock was on his knees in pain every instinct told him to attack. but he knew it was useless he knew that he couldn't attack the figure before him he didn't even know where he was.

"I know you hate me i get it i understand. But you must know that Friezia gave the order. it is him that you want not me? Why let him win when you can kill us both?" Bardock murmured.

"Who is more guilty? The general that order's his troops to kill or his troops that did the killing? You enjoyed every single moment when you where wiping out the lives of countless indivduals. I want you to suffer for what you have done to my people. You no one else!"

"But at the price of my son!" Bardock was standing now his eyes glaring. "I don't care what you think my intentions are i don't care if you think it's the truth!"

"Then what do you care about Sayian?"

"Listen to me! You are making a mistake here. You want me dead i understand but Kakarott he's a good man he would have saved your people! Kakarott is the hope of the universe! He is the answer to all living things that cry out for peace. He is the protector of the innocent. He is the light in the darkness! If you don't allow me to save him. You are killing millions of more people. You think i'm a monster but if you stop me for your revenge then you are a far greater evil than i ever was"

The Kanassa looked Bardock straight in his eyes and smiled.

"Maybe you learned something after all".

Goku flew down towards his family and Piccolo gathering together.

The Sayian was exhausted the concentration needed to control and gather the energy for the sprite bomb had sapped his strength. In fact Goku was afraid he had acted to early. Worried that he was forced to act due to Friezia gathering what seemed like enough energy to blow up the whole planet. The Sayian was very relived to see the attack crush Friezia to the ground and even more so the fact he could no longer feel the tyrant's energy.

Gohan was lying down next to his father the young child had battled hard and shown power way belong his years and Goku was proud of his son and wanted to train him once they arrived home. Together they would reach new and exciting heights also the hole though Gohan's shoulder didn't seem too serious it would heal especially once they got back to the Sayian's ship.

Piccolo was stood up beside Gohan protectively watching over the Boy before bending over to cheek the Demi- Sayian's injuries the two extra arms where no longer then and the whole in the Namek's chest was gone no doubt regenerated. Though he looked battered and bruised Goku knew the Namek had taken worse mostly from Goku himself in their previous battles. The two warrior's locked eyes for a moment and nodded at eachother both knowing that once this was all over the wishes made on the Dragonballs and they where safely back on Earth the two would spar with each other to test their new found strength.

Goku eyes then turned to his father Bardock who was sitting up now breathing heavily because of his broken chest but very much alive. This man had been nothing to Goku but a mere foe when he came to Earth.

Suddenly Bardock bolted up right he looked as if he had been in a trance. The Sayian got to his feet knowing what he needed to do as he felt the tremor underneath his feet. The orange aura of the Phonix fire technique burst around the Sayian as he watched his family and Piccolo's jaw drop as they witnessed Friezia's transformation. Bardock didn't need to see it he saw it all before.

Bardock sprang forward with all his strength and speed smashing his right shoulder against Goku's throwing the young Sayian against the ground and out of harms way.

~DBAT~

Bardock was in agony every part of his body was bruised and broken. The black night sky above was clouded in smoke, The star's where not visible the only light source was the burning buildings of what used to be a city below.

The Sayian was being strangled a powerful hand gripped his neck and was crushing it forcing all air out of his lungs.

Two teenage figures where off in the distance a black haired boy with an orange scarf and a blond girl with a blue blouse fired Ki blasts down upon the screaming residence.

"Where is Goku?" A gruff masculine voice growled.

Bardock turned his attention away from the screaming voices that he knew he could no longer help and look down at his captor and was shocked at the familiar face glaring back at him. It was like looking at a ghost. Bardock two eye's meet his three eyed adversary.

The man that had stood against Bardock when the Sayian had invaded Earth was now lifting him up in the air by his throat. Two R's where in a red ribbon tattoo on his chest.

"I'll ask one more time where is Goku"

"He's dead" Bardock splattered blood dripping on the andriod below him face. "He died by a heart virus. Maybe that's what your creator should have been working on rather than you hunks of metal."

The three-eye android growled as he tossed Bardock broken body into the air raising a single finger as he shouted.

"Dodon ray!"

~DBZ~

The death beam that was intended for Goku pierced Bardock heart going right through the Sayian's body. His body feel limply to the ground.

Gohan and Piccolo looked on in shock open mouthed they didn't even see the attack coming if Bardock hadn't reacted quickly it would be Goku's lifeless body they would be staring at.

Goku was on his knees head down looking directly at his fathers body his senses reaching out trying to find a spec of life. But he found nothing no trace.

"Hahaha" Friezia laughter cut though the silence. "Oh how precious he saved you life! not that it will help"

With a casual flick of his wrist he sent another Death beam towards Goku.

To everyone vicinity surprise Goku lifted his hand up and caught the blast in his hand before crushing it in his palm as his hand balled into a fist. Hot steam began to radiate from the Sayian's body as he stood up his head still facing the ground. Hot tears dripping down his face onto the Namek's ground.

Piccolo sense it first the shift in Goku's aura it felt different full of rage and angrier. It was over powering almost as if the Sayian was about to explode. The Namek placed a hand on Gohan's shoulder ready to pull the Demi-Sayian away if needed. Goku's head snapped towards the Frost Demon his eyes pure white his pupils completely disappeared. Steam still pouring up from his body.

The grin that Friezia had under his mask turned into a scowl. Just what was going on.

Small pebbles began to flout up into the air as a white aura burst around Goku. Burst of electrical energy sparked in the air. Then suddenly a ruse of gold flashed in Goku's aura as his hair also turned was over as soon as it appeared.

Goku growled it was a pure deep rumble full of anger. His father had died because he had failed. His father had died because he was too weak his father was dead because he had failed.

"AHHHHHHHAAAAAA" Goku threw his head back and roared as his hair transitioned from black gold and black again as a whirlwind created by his power burst out sending Gohan and Piccolo flying away.

"Grrrrrrrraaaaaahhhh"

Goku's roars where met by a Death beam barrage as the tyrant tried to dispatch his foe quickly but it was to no avail.

The attacks merely disappeared into nothing as they connected against the young Sayian's powerful aura.

Then suddenly the tidal wave of energy ceased as Goku stood tall his arms by his side a golden aura encircling him. His hair was golden but what change most was his eyes not only had they change colour from onyx to blue but gone was the innocence gone was the calmness. Only to be replace by pure rage.

Goku had become what Friezia had wanted. Finally after all these years the Tyrant had found his Super Sayian.

Hello everyone how are we.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter i now have a question for all of you and it's a big important one.

Now that Bardock is dead when he comes back alive should the Kanassa warrior still be with in him. I can see it turning either way but let me explain the options.

1. Now that Bardock is dead The Kanassa warrior finally is put to rest he passes on to the other world and i think it would be a nice end to his story arc. It would however mean that Bardock would no longer be able to see the future and to be honest i think it has now served it's purpose.

2. The Kanassa stays with Bardock and we then explore their relationship maybe get Bardock to learn more on how to actually use the future seeing ability.

Will have a mini vote and will see what people want more i think ill give it about a month or so. Ill know by the end of this arc :)
