(Two Day later)
Christian and Adrian played exciting game of peek-a-boo with Jasmine for thirty minutes until Jasmine fell asleep in her car seat.
Dimitri, Janine, and a few more guardians started unloading from the van. Janine opens the passenger sliding door for everyone to get out. Adrian unfastened Jasmine's seat belts and removing her from her car seat. Pick up, and holding her in his arms. Start walking heading to the Mall. Dimitri didn't like the way Adrian was holding Jasmine. Dimitri thought Adrian would drop Jasmine or pass her off his kid."
Jasmine yawning, rubbing her yellow eyes, and looked at Adrian. Adrian said, "Hello! Little Supernova. Did you have a good nap?" Jasmine said, "Not call me Super Nova. Call me Little Nova!" Adrian said, "Alright!" Dimitri thought it cute that Jasmine didn't like the nickname. Adrian and Jasmine walked into the Mall. Jasmine's eyes went big. Jasmine said, "Down!" Adrian put Jasmine down on the ground. Jasmine saw something most beautiful in the world to her. Took off like shot. Running as fast little feet could carry her. Stop in front of the Christmas tree and looking up at it. Jasmine had a smile from ear to ear. Jump up and down point at the tree.
Dimitri run up and grabbed Jasmine up. Making turn and look at him. Dimitri says, "Don't ever do that again. Something could happen to you. Your mother will kill me." Jasmine said, "Sorry Daddy!" Jasmine turns back to the Christmas tree and looked at some more. Dimitri said, "It's just a Christmas tree. Jasmine said, "No! Angel." Jasmine point to the top of the tree at the angel. Dimitri realized it was an angel on top and the tree was pretty blue and gold colors.
Dimitri picked up Jasmine started caring to clothes store. Lissa so happy that help pick out clothes for baby Jasmine. Janine, Dimitri, and Lissa started looking at different clothes that Jasmine could wear. Dimitri hand Jasmine to Christian. Telling Christian to watch Jasmine and make sure nothing bad happen to her. Christian said, Not a problem.
Jasmine looking into Christian eyes and said Toyz! Christian said, "Do you want to go play with Toys?" Jasmine said, Please! Uncle. Giving a sad puppy face making Christian do as Jasmine wants. Turn around walk out of the clothes shop heading to the toys shop. Adrian was outside the shop talking few girls. Not paying attention to Christian and Jasmine or guardians behind them.
Christian and Jasmine walked into the Toys shop. Christian put Jasmine down and said, "Let found toys to play with." Jasmine took Christian's hand to lead him over to the farm playset. Christian and Jasmine sit down started playing with them. Christian making animal sounds. Jasmine laughing and enjoying being with Christian. Jasmine and Christian were having fun with each other and forgetting everyone else. Christian remember that Jasmine was his best friend and lately he hadn't time to spend with her. Adrian found Christian and Jasmine playing with toys. Having a tea party. Taking out his cellphone taking pictures of both having a tea party.
Adrian and Christian could hear Jasmine's belly gumming. Adrian said someone hungry? Jasmine said, "Yes!" Jasmine saw 18 Inch Large Black Stallion Horse Stuffed Animal Plush Pony and said, "I want." Adrian said, "What is that you want?" Jasmine point at it. Adrian said, "I buy for you and few more toy for you play with later." Jasmine runs over gives Adrian hug. Both Christian and Adrian buy a few bags of toys for Jasmine.
(Hour Later)
Dimitri found Christian, Adrian, and Jasmine sitting ice cream shop. Both Christian and Adrian were watching Jasmine eating ice cream finding it funny. Because having a problem eating it with a spoon. Dimitri said, "Where have you been?" Adrian said, "With our young woman here." Dimitri could see few bags full of toys. Realizing they were in the toys shop all this time.
When Jasmine sneezed again. Christian reached up feeling Jasmine's forehead and asked, "Are you feel all right?" Jasmine said, "Yes! Uncle. Yummy!" Adrian said, "We are so happy that you're enjoying your ice cream with strawberries."
Jasmine said, "Daddy! Yummy!" Dimitri said, "Eat your ice cream. Did you run off again?" Jasmine looked at Dimitri said, "Nope! Uncle, play with me." Christian said, "You told me to watch her, and besides with eyes looked so sad. When she asking to play with toys. I thought of playing with her while shop for clothes. So picked up and carried away from the clothes shop to the toys shop." Dimitri said, "Why didn't say anything or take one of the guardians with you? Adrian said, "They did take guardians with them. Dimitri looked up see Alberta, Eddie, and Damon standing around with eyes on them.
Dimitri walked over to Alberta asked, "Why did you call to tell us they had gone to a toy shop?" Alberta said, "We did. We didn't answer back from you. Both looked down at the radio found they both had different channels. Alberta said, "I told everyone we were on eleven, and change are you on?" Dimitri said, "Seven. Fuck! Her mother is going nuts looking for Jasmine." Alberta said, "I told everyone will be on channel eleven. Maybe next time you will listen."
Jasmine said, "Finished with cream and started yawning." Adrian asked, "Ready to home now?" Jasmine yawn again. Christian said, "Big yes!" Both, Adrian and Christian, getting up from the table. Adrian reached over picked up Jasmine and yell, "We are leaving." Christian picked the two big full bags of Jasmine's new toys and started heading for the door. Dimitri, Alberta, Damon, and Eddie started moving behind them to the front door of the mall. Dimitri called Janine and inform her that found Jasmine heading front door by the Christmas tree. Janine and Vasilisa had out Jasmine's other bags.
When they head to exit Jasmine looked at the Christmas tree and Jasmine saw that the angel was gone. Jasmine said Angel was gone. Jasmine said, "Fly home?" Adrian said, "She went home until next year." Jasmine said, "Bye-bye!" Bring a smile to Dimitri to hear Jasmine said Bye-bye to a fake angel.
Everyone walking to the van. When Jasmine grabbed Adrian's jacket and said, "Monsters." All guardians started looking around to see these monsters. Janine said, "Where baby?" Jasmine was pointing tree line. Dimitri turns his head and views where Jasmine was pointing at. Notice three male Strigois standing on the woods line and wait for the sun to set. Before come out and taking their food. Dimitri said, " Three Strigoi in the tree line." Janine said, "Get in the van now in order voice.
As all the guardians went in guard mode to portent Moroi and Jasmine from the Strigoi. Lissa, Eddie, Christian, Adrian and baby Jasmine get in to the van. Alberta run around to driver seat and jump in started the van. Janine in passage seat with Dimitri and Damon in back. Damon slammed the sliding door. Alberta drive out Mall park-lot as fast she could get away from the Strigoi.
Adrian saying, "Nothing to fear now that Uncle Adrian is here." Christian said, "How long have been waiting to use that on her?" Jasmine was so scared and crying hard. Her body was shaking all over from fear. Jasmine was hiding her face in Adrian's chest.
Dimitri order Adrian to give Jasmine to him. Reaching out and taking Jasmine from Adrian holding her to his chest and feeling Jasmine's body was shaking all over from fear. Dimitri said, "I have a sweet girl. The monsters can't get you now." Jasmine looked up Dimitri with tears in eyes. Dimitri looked down at Jasmine pulling closer. Started rubbing her back to calm her. Started sing Russian lullaby to Jasmine. Dimitri could Jasmine slowly from shaking and crying turn whimpers as her eyes close falling to sleep. Everyone road back in silents listen to Dimitri sing to Jasmine. Lissa turn around watching Dimitri with Jasmine.
Vasilisa said, "That calm lullaby that sing Jasmine." Dimitri said, "Thank you!"
(Two Days later)
Dimitri had got Jasmine ready for special day. Rose was getting her first molnija marks. Dimitri had putting Jasmine in a Bonnie Jean - Girls Christmas Dress red Velvet Sparkle Dress with Jacket with white legging and black shoes. Putting Jasmine hair in pigs tails. Vislisa picked the dress yesterday for Jasmine for the Rose molnija ceremony. Dimitri was going wear is Guardian suit like he did when Jasmine get her marks.
Dimitri cellphone ring. Dimitri answer it was from Dr. Olendzk saying that Jasmine tests come in and found few things that talk about. Dimitri said, "I will get Guardian Hathaway after molnija ceremony in few hours. Hug up with the Doctor. Jasmine said, Who that Daddy? Dimitri said, "Dr. tests came back."
Jasmine was holding her 18 Inch Large Black Stallion Horse Stuffed Animal Plush Pony that Adrian buy for her at the toy shop. Dimitri said, "Did Adrian buy that for you?" Jasmine said, "Yes! Daddy!" Dimitri asked, "What is pony name?" Jasmine said, "Pony!" Dimitri thought good name least it not Alex. Alex is stuff wolf stuff toy name.
"Dimitri thought really Adrian only way to get girl to like to him is buy her things". "While doesn't make sound." Dimirti asked "Does this make you cowgirl?" Jasmine giggle. Making Dimitri smile at Jasmine. Looking down at is watch and said, "It time to for molnija ceremony. But you have leave your pony at home." Jasmine walked over to her bed putting her pony on the end of the bed. Started patting and say, "Pony! You stay here. I go with Daddy now." Looking at her pony. Dimitri picked up Jasmine and walked down stairs.
Dimitri reached down picking Jasmine up and bring her to his chest. Started walking down stairs with Jasmine in arms. When their was knock on the door. Dimitri picked up Jasmine baby bag and heading for the door. Open the door and found Janine standing their waiting for Dimitri and Jasmine. Jasmine said, "Mommy." Janine said, "Who look so cute in dress?" Jasmine said, "Me!" Janine could see toys in floor. Seeing blocks, books and thought must Jasmines toys.
Dimitri said, "I receive a call from Dr. Olendzk to tell me that Jasmine's test came back. Dr. Olendzk would like to see us after Rose's molnija ceremony." Janine said "That Great News! I would like to know cause my baby turns in to toddler."Jasmine looked at Dimitri and Janine. Jasmine holds the answer side herself until she grows up. Rose was going to pay for it.
The weather warmed up on the day of Rose's molnija ceremony. In fact, it was so warm that a lot of the snow on campus began melting, running down the sides of the Academy's stone buildings in slim, silvery streams. Winter was far from being over, so we knew everything would just freeze up again in a few days. For now, though, it felt as though the entire world was weeping.
Janine, Dimitri and Jasmine arrived guardians' building. All the other Guardians could see Jasmine wearing cute little red dress and found it really cute. All female guardians thought Jasmine was cute. All the guardians on campus attended. They milled around in the building's main meeting room, hanging out in clusters but not talking.
When the ceremony started, they fell into orderly ranks without being told and watched Rose. Jasmine stood next to Dimitri and Janine. Rose sat on a stool in the corner of the room and leaning forward with her hair hanging over the front of her face. Behind Rose, a guardian named Lionel held a tattooist's needle to the back of Rose's neck.
Rose has known him the whole time we have been at the Academy, but she never realized he was trained to draw molnija marks. Jasmine reached putting her hand on the back of her neck and touching her Molnija Marks. Staring up, viewing Dimitri and Janine looking down at her. They realized that Jasmine must still have a memory of getting her molnija marks.
Before Lionel started making the marks. Rose could her Lionel, Alberta and Janine started murmured conversation. Lionel said, "Rose won't have a promise mark like her sister Jasmine. "She hasn't graduated." Alberta said, "This second time that happen. She made the kills. Do the molnijas, and she'll get the promise mark later just like her sister will."
Rose started considering the pain that she did to Jasmine. Started to understand why started hating Jasmine. Realizing the night at the lodge. Before leaving for Spokane. There was something that forgets like someone compelled to forget, or make her do something bad, and couldn't remember who made her do it.
Rose thought about who would make her do it to her Jasmine. Few names popped into Rose's mind. Feeling the pain expect the tattoos to hurt as much as they did. But she bit her lip and stayed silent as Lionel made the marks. The process seemed to go on forever. When he finished, Lionel produced a couple of mirrors, and with some maneuvering, Rose was able to see the back of her neck. Two tiny black marks sat there, side by side, against my reddened and sensitive skin. Molnija meant "lightning" in Russian, and that's what the jagged shape was meant to symbolize. Two marks. One for Isaiah, one for Elena.
After that, all the gathered guardians came up to Rose one by one. They each gave Rose some sort of sign of affection- a hug, a kiss on the cheek- and kind words. "Welcome to the ranks," said Alberta, her weathered face gentle as she pulled Rose into a tight embrace. Making Rose's eyes go big in surprise.
Dimitri didn't say anything when his turn came. But like always, his eyes spoke legions. Pride and tenderness filled his expression, and Rose swallowed back tears. He rested one hand gently on my cheek, nodded, and walked away.
When Stan- the instructor I'd fought with the most since my first day- hugged me and said, "Now you're one of us. I always knew you'd be one of the best. Just like you sister is." Rose thought I'd pass out from shock.
Then when my mother came up to me. Rose couldn't help the tear that ran down my cheek. Janine wiped it away from Rose's eyes and then brushed her fingers against the back of my neck. Janine said, "Don't ever forget."
Jasmine was last in line. Rose bend down and peer into Jasmine's eyes. Feeling the longing to be together like the old days. But their was something holding Rose back from Jasmine. Jasmine reached up to touch Rose's cheek. Jasmine's eyes had gone white, started to see an echo with start flash in her head. Making smile disappear from little face and tears start felling from eyes. Dimitri reached down pulling Jasmine away from Rose. Jasmine's consciousness return, and start blinking eyes turn yellow again. Jasmine yawn. Laying her head on Dimitri's shoulder and arm around Dimitri's neck. Rose said, "Jasmine's eyes went white again like in the Badica house." Dimitri said. "Interesting, What do you think that she might have seen from you?" Rose said, "I don't know."
Janine said, "It's time to take Jasmine to her doctor's appointment. So get the answer to the tests." Rose said, "What kind of tests?" Dimitri said, Blood tests, check, and another test to found out how Jasmine turn into a toddler."
(Dr. Olendzk Office)
Janine and Dimitri walked up to Dr. Olendzk's office door. Janine knocked on the door and waited for the answer. Hearing Moroi woman voice saying come in. Janine opens the door. Dimitri is caring for baby Jasmine in his arms and Janine behind him. Dr. Olendzk said please have seat. We need to talk about the tests on Jasmine. Janine took the left seat, and Dimitri took the right seat with Jasmine sitting in his lap looking at Dr. Olendzk.
Dr. Olendzk said, "I don't know how to tell you. But want we found in coco was a high level of compound makeup which was couldn't unidentified. What did found was some of the ingredients did have tomato and peppermint inside of them. I believe that peppermint must have change compound keeping from killing her." Janine said, "Someone wants to kill my daughter."
Dr. Olendzk said, "As for blood work came back with abnormal cells in the blood. Her gens seem to be different than Moroi or Dhampier markers. But most of Moroi gens and Dhamphier gens on turn on. Make me believe that she is a rare dhampier. I would like Rose would come in have the same test done. Janine said, "That should be fine with me." Dr. Olendzk said, "Have both seen anything different than what would see in Moroi or Dhampier?" Janine said, "No! I am not around a lot." Dimitri said, "No! not really. She acts normal."
Dr. Olendzk said, "Jasmine's body is normal for two years old. I feel that everything is alright with her now. I might want to do some more tests later. It doesn't change back in few weeks." Dimitri said, "How long do you think might be like this?" Dr. Olendzk said, "It hard to say few weeks or years or until grow up again."
Janine, Dimitri, and Jasmine walked out of Dr. Olendzki's office. Both of them thinking if only the doctor knew what Jasmine really was. It would blow her mind. But keeping it secret was a good thing. Dimitri asked, "Are you come by before you leave the academy to see Jasmine?" Janine said, "Yes!" Janine started to give Jasmine a goodbye kiss. Jasmine said, "Bye-Bye Mommy! Jasmine said, Daddy! Dimitri said, Yes, Sweetheart! Jasmine said, "Uncle Adrian smells funny." Dimitri said, "I bet he does."
(The Tower)
Dimitri and Jasmine started heading to the tower. Walking inside found Christian, Lissa, Adrian, and Rose sitting in the side watching TV. Dimitri said, "How in the hell did you get through the door?" Christian said, "Easy and pulling out his key. Jasmine give a key encase I need to get in here." Dimitri reached grabbing the key from Christian and said, Now, I would like to see you get butts through my door?" Christian said, Not a problem. We do it tomorrow!" Dimitri looked at Christian had a shit-eating smile on his face.
Rose reached up and it said, "OK Comrade. We came to check on Jasmine and you. Please don't be mad at us." Dimitri said, "I'm not mad." Rose was touching Dimitri's hand with her hand. Adrian said, "Why don't sit down have few drinks with us. Let Jasmine play in the floor Dimitri said, "No! I can't." Rose said, "just a few drinks, and we party together." Dimitri thought is Rose drinking. Dimitri said, "I need to get Jasmine ready for bed. Rose asked, "I could help you with baby Jasmine." Dimitri said, "If you want to." Rose got up from the end of the sofa and said, "Let go put down my sister for the night."
Dimitri pulled Jasmine in arms and started sing Jasmine Russian lullaby. Rose that is beauty lullaby to sing to my sister."Dimitri said thank you."
