Chapter 65
The day after the attack in Ireland, Suzaku flamed Arcturus, Sirius, Emily, and Harry immediately back to Great Britain while Miwa was taken back home. To say the Kawada's were incensed would be putting it mildly as Ichika started swearing at the top of his lungs and vowed vengeance against Dolohov for what he did to his brother. On the other hand, Miwa was probably angrier as so many emotions ran through her. One, in particular, was of great rage as she was very close to her Uncle Rio. While Ichika went to retrieve his brother's body, Karai stayed behind with their daughter even though it was clear that she wanted to go with him.
When the Blacks and honorary family members arrived at St. Mungo, Arcturus wasted no time demanding where his sister and granddaughter were. The receptionist looked like she was about to pass out, given how pale she was after looking at the angry expression on Lord Black's face. However, she immediately told them what they wanted to know and watched as they went to the elevator. The poor woman thought she would have died given the expression on his face and was mentally glad to not be the one he was angry at.
When the elevator stopped, Harry was the first one out as he broke into a mad dash to the room where his family was. Quickly finding the room, he burst through the door to see Ted and Dora standing near their beds. Ted held his wife's hand while Dora alternated her gaze between both her mother and aunt.
"What's their statuses?" Dora's attention was redirected to the door where the others had just arrived. Harry instantly activated his special sight to check them over. From what he could tell, Andromeda was sleeping, likely because of the potions the healers gave her. Upon further inspection, he discovered that she was now infected with the lycanthropy curse, which made his blood boil. Then, he turned his attention to Cassie; if he was angry before, now he was pissed and looked ready to tear the next person he saw in half.
Cassie's health and magic were decreasing by the minute. Walking over, he grabbed her hand "stay with me, Cassie. Please."
Upon hearing his voice, she opened her eyes and coughed a bit. "Relax, little tiger, I haven't kicked the bucket yet," giving him a small smile. "How were your exams?"
Harry ignored her question "come on, we got to get you inside a tank" the angry expression on his face turned into one of desperation.
"No, Harry, that is not what I want," she replied in a firm voice before coughing again but more violently.
"But it can-"
"Harry! Listen to me," she began, "do you remember the conversation we had during the Christmas break?" Harry slowly nodded his head. "Then you know this is what I want. For too long, I have missed my sister, Dorea. I have been angry for years at how she was killed by that murdering bastard Voldemort. If only help had come sooner, then she would have survived alongside Charlus. But I know that she went down the way she wanted to. Fighting for the family, she loved more than anything. The same way your parents did. Against all odds, they fought and died to protect the people they loved, and now I find myself doing the same thing." She sat up and moved her hand to the side of his face. "I know the anger. The pain you hold inside. Use them to be strong and protect the family. Promise me, Hadrian. Promise me you will protect the family!"
"I promise you I will, Cassie," he looked into her grey eyes.
"Good," they heard a stir and saw that Andromeda was now awake. "Welcome back to the world of the living Andromeda. You feeling better?"
"Yes, aside from the burning in my neck," she rubbed the side in which Greyback bit her.
"That's to be expected, Mrs. Tonks." Everyone turned their attention to the healer who had just walked in. The man appeared to be in his late twenties. "I am sorry to say this… but you are now a werewolf."
That shocked everyone in the room except for Harry, who frowned. Sirius, however, was furious at hearing what the man said about his favorite cousin. "Wait! Are you sure? Did you double-check? How accurate is your test?" He knew how the wizarding world viewed those with lycanthropy. Remus had been suffering with it for the majority of his life, and things only got worse when that toad Umbitch put a new law in to ensure that it would be next to impossible for anyone with the lycanthropy to get a job.
"We are quite thorough in our test Mr. Black," the man responded with a sad voice. "I understand that this is very upsetting news for you, but it's the truth."
"Where are they?" The frantic voice of Sirius's other cousin came and in a split second, Narcissa came bursting through the door to see that everyone else had arrived. Narcissa didn't waste a breath as she pushed through everyone to get near her sister. "Oh, my god Andi," she looked at her older sister's neck. "What happened? Who did this to you?"
"I'm surprised you actually came," Dora tersely said, getting in her aunt's face. "Where were you when your parents tried to force her out? She was your sister, and you should have stuck with her instead of being married to that swine you call a husband. Now, you want to act like you care. You're no different than that bitch, Bellatrix."
Narcissa froze at her niece's accusation and was completely shocked at what she said. It was true that when Andi married a muggle-born and, like Bellatrix, cut off all communications when their parents tried to disinherit her. But unlike Bella, she never stopped loving her sister and often wanted to see how she was. The same could be said for Sirius and Regulus. While it was true that she hardly got along with Sirius when they were younger, but she still cared for him. Her heart ached when she heard his mother disowned him as she knew what the woman was like. Sirius's departure left Regulus alone.
Andromeda glared at her daughter "that's enough, Dora. You will not speak to your aunt that way ever again."
At that, everyone stared at her with surprised expressions.
"But mom, she-"
"Is still your aunt," Andi narrowed her eyes "regardless of what happened in the past and Narcissa's choice of husband, she is still my sister. But, unlike Bellatrix, she is not corrupted to the core. The day she joined that mad man and did all those things, especially to the Longbottoms, was the day she truly became dead to me."
Then turning back to her sister, "relax, Cissy I am fine, all things considered. Though our aunt got the worse of it," motioning to where Cassie was sitting.
Narcissa walked over to her aunt. "Cassie. What happened? Who did this to you?"
Cassiopeia coughed and motioned for Harry to move a bit so she could look at her niece. "We were ambushed by death eaters, a couple of their sympathizers, some bounty hunters, Fenrir Greyback and his lot. They attacked us when we were in Ireland gathering supplies."
Arcturus growled in anger, "those motherfucking bastards have just declared war against the House of Black. No one attacks our family and lives to tell about it."
"Damn straight," Sirius added as he was just as angry. "I wasn't there to protect my family the first time, and it cost me Regulus, James, and Lily. So, I'm going to make a difference this time," he declared with eyes burning with fire.
"First, things first," Arcturus resumed control and looked at the healer, "please leave. We have family business to discuss." Taking that as his cue, the man left while Arcturus flicked his wand and added a powerful locking charm along with some privacy wards. "Now, Andromeda, Nymphadora, and Edward, you three are going to move into one of the Black family homes outside of Britain. There are places that have been extensively warded by various family members. You three will pick a place and stay there." He raised a hand and gave a sharp look at Ted when he was about to speak. "This is not up for debate. You three will still be able to maintain your jobs, but it'll be under more security."
"Second, every one of you will give a magical vow saying that you will not reveal their whereabouts." Everyone took out their wands and immediately gave the vow. "Good, now there's going to be a wizengamot meeting tomorrow regarding the attack. Because of that werewolf law, the other families," sending a death glare to Narcissa that made her pale, "will demand that I disown and cut off ties with Andromeda. I'm telling you all this now that I will not bend to their wishes as this is my family, and if those spineless shit stains have any problems, they can deal with me. Finally, the reporters from the Daily Prophet are going to want some information out of us. You will leave them to me and say nothing. Clear?" Everyone nodded in understanding.
Cassie then cleared her throat, bringing attention to her "now that we got that out of the way. Can one of you get the healer back in here? I may not be dead yet, but I doubt I'll last for the next day or two. In the meantime, I'm going back home at least the bed and accommodations will be better. For, if I'm going to die, then it'll at least be in our ancestral home."
Arcturus understood what she wanted and motioned for Sirius to get the healer. Without wasting a breath, Sirius undid the enchantments on the door and left.
A few minutes later, he returned with the healer, who voiced his opinion about how it would be better if Cassie stayed where she was for the time. But Cassie was adamant, saying she would like to leave and head back home. So, the man reluctantly agreed to have her discharged and allowed the visitors to escort her along with Andromeda out of the room. Predictably when they got to the lobby, reporters from the Daily Prophet showed up and started bombarding them with questions about the attack. Following Arcturus's advice, they said nothing and moved through the lobby all the way to the apparition point, where they all apparated back to Black's castle. Upon arrival, Sirius unlocked the door and led them inside, where Jack and Arcturus escorted Cassiopeia to the couch, with Edward and Dora following behind with Andromeda.
Narcissa refused to leave Andi's side and sat next to her.
"Now, let's get down to business," Arcturus grunted and called twelve of his house-elves. Soon they all popped before him. "I want you to head over to the Tonks residents and gather all their essential belongings." He then looked up at Hadrian "go with the elves and make sure nothing happens."
"Done," taking one of the elf's hands, he allowed him to pop them away with the others right behind.
Edward stood up and bowed respectfully at Arcturus. "Lord Black, I cannot thank you enough for what you're doing for Andromeda. I know that coming from a muggle-born like myself, that doesn't mean much, but to me, Andromeda and Nymphadora are my entire world. If possible, I would move heaven and earth to be with them."
Arcturus narrowed his eyes at him. While he wasn't all too thrilled with Andromeda's choice of husband, the man had proved himself time and time again. "Raise your head boy," after their first initial meeting, he looked into the man's portfolio and though hated to admit, was rather impressed. Edward raised his head to look him in the eyes. "You may not be the husband I intended for Andromeda," casting a look at her, who narrowed her eyes at him. "Despite my reservations, you're a decent provider, thus making you... acceptable enough."
Everyone stared with wide eyes at what he had just said to Edward. The most surprised was Andromeda herself, followed by Narcissa and Sirius. Arcturus gave them one last look before heading up the stairs.
Sirius was the first to regain himself. "Damn, Ted, I think you scored some major brownie points with the old bastard," he joked. "Normally, he would have just sneered and acted as if you're unworthy to be a part of the family. But you've managed to impress him."
"I say he tolerates you more than anything," Andromeda kissed her husband's cheek.
Two hours later, the elves and Harry returned with the essentials from the Tonks residence. It was decided that they would move into a cottage in Germany. The home was big enough for the three of them and was isolated enough so nobody could bother them. Andromeda, of course, knew where the home was, having been there multiple times in the past. The place may have been extensively ward, but Cassie didn't want to take any chances and sent Harry to add a couple more before they moved in. All four of them agreed to the arrangements. Though Andromeda requested if she and the others could remain here for a while. Arcturus gave them a nod before having Sirius show them to their rooms. Shortly after they were all settled in, it was dinner time; unfortunately, Narcissa couldn't stay as she had to get back home. But she promised to return in the morning.
Dinner was mostly a silent affair, with Cassie giving a list of names to their attackers. Jack promised to find any residual traces of magic in the town. He even allowed Emily and Harry to remain with Cassie and the others rather than returning them to school.

Five days later at Hogwarts, the students had breakfast in the great hall, many of them discussed the recent attack in Magical Ireland, and they knew things would get ugly. Daphne was beside herself when she heard who perished in the assault, and the Daily Prophet sent article after article speculating how the Blacks were dealing with the situation. Emily had returned yesterday with the tragic news about Lord Black's sister succumbing to her injuries. She explained that Harry was still at his castle and had been rarely seen outside either his lab or the training room. Daphne could only imagine the pain he was going through, and whatever he or Lord Black would do to those assailants would be justified. Attacking the House of Black was a dangerous gamble, and anyone foolish enough to go after them will likely end up dead or in excruciating agony.
She was brought out of her thoughts by a familiar voice. "I'm sorry this happened." Daphne looked at Blaise, who was consoling the young girl. "I can only imagine what you and Harry are going through. Those idiots have no idea what they've done."
"That is putting it mildly," Adrian added. "You do not touch a man's family! So whatever happens to those idiots won't be pretty."
Soon everyone in the great hall heard the crystals activate, bringing their attention to the viewing screen. However, the moment some of them saw the expression on Lord Black's face, they instantly went pale. Everybody knew of the man's reputation and the power he wielded. To appear on the screen as the Daily Prophet was supposed to occur meant he wasn't happy.
"Attention to the citizens of Magical Britain and Ireland, I am Lord Arcturus Orion Black, Head of the Most Ancient and Noble House of the Black. A couple of days ago, terrorists carried out a barbaric attack on the people in Ireland," the cold, dangerous steel in his voice was present, and it let the people know he was pissed. "And among the victims came from my house, namely my older sister Cassiopeia Hesper Black who is now dead because of them."
The venom in his voice made the students shiver as things were bound to get ugly. Even the professors were a bit shaken by the tone in his voice. Dumbledore returned to his post as headmaster this morning intending to regain control of the school, but his attention was directed at the screen. His usual calm grandfather persona faltered slightly after hearing what Arcturus said. However, Albus was not a fool, for he knew that Arcturus was not someone to be taken lightly. Whoever attacked his family was either very bold or very foolish. Likely, the latter as they should have known better.
"As such, I bear a message to the motherfucking cunts who attacked my family as they have declared war against my House. Let it be known here and now that your days are numbered, and you will know the vengeance of the House of Black. If you idiots left my family unharmed, you would have saved yourselves from a lot of pain and suffering. Know that there will be no place for any of you to hide as you will be found and shown something beyond the horrors of hell. And to your sympathizers who would try and protect you, they'd be advised to think about the side they wish to fight for. Because they would be treated like enemies," that he got up and swept out of the room.
None of the students would dissuade his words as they could tell he meant every word. However, his tone of voice and body expressions showed he was out for blood. Hell, even Alastor Moody went pale after hearing the words from his former mentor. It was hard to believe, but the man was still terrifying after all these years. However, what really surprised him was the man's current heir, Potter. That boy, no, that man is truly something impressive as he could handle and defeat both Kingsley and him in a no-holds-barred-fight. Their fight brought back some strong memories of the lad's grandfather, another mentor to him. Alastor remembered Charlus well as a very dangerous and powerful warrior. Fighting the man's grandson was perhaps the greatest duel he had had in a long time. Potter even gave him a couple more scars to go with the ones he got from Charlus all those years ago. The way he fought made him realize how alike the boy was compared to the man and combined with the ruthlessness of Arcturus Black, sent shivers down his spine.
Alastor couldn't help but be impressed and a little embarrassed at being defeated by the boy as his power and skills far exceeded that of the other members of the guild. However, he missed Dumbledore dismissing the students as he was still deep in thought about the battle. The injuries he sustained were extensive and quite severe as he was positive that the boy was still holding back against him. All of his ribs were either shattered or destroyed. Both his hips were broken, along with his arms, legs. In addition, Potter destroyed his shoulders, shattered his collarbone, cracked his sternum, punctured some of his organs, and gave him one hell of a bad headache. Finally, the icing on top was that he was positive that Potter was studying him. Basically, it was the best duel he had had in years.
Coming back to his senses, he noticed that the great hall was mostly empty save for a couple of students chatting with their friends. Rising from his seat, he left the head table and made his way out to begin his class with a pair of third years.
In another part of the castle, the Ravenclaw and Slytherin fifth years walked into their History of Magic class and took their respective seats. Not long after, Professor Greengrass walked in, telling them to have their essays ready for pick up. Aaron and Daphne did so without delay, placing them at the side of the table, as did the others. Next, Roxanne began making her way around, gathering the various essays from the students. Once all the essays were gathered, she put them on her desk and addressed the class. "Alright, everyone, I have the grades from your previous essays and have to admit they were better than expected."
Ever since Roxanne became the History of magic Professor, the atmosphere and opinion of the subject had improved. The students were attentive and no longer considered it a boring subject where they could grab a quick nap. Of course, it also helped that their professor was alive and taught them about the true history of magic. Compared to Binns, who would always talk about Goblin wars and put them to sleep within the first ten minutes. She proceeded to hand back the graded essays; when she dropped off Aaron's, his eyes went wide as there was a red 'O' in the top right corner. In the past, he would only score a low to mid 'EE' in the class whenever Binns was teaching, but now that Daphne's mother and the study sessions Harry introduced, his grades have improved. Looking over the comments, he saw the good and bad. So, far there were only four errors in his entire essay.
Then turning his head right, he saw that Daphne's paper also had a red 'O' in the corner, but also noticed that her paper didn't have any error marks. His attention was averted when the professor resumed.
"Right, then, as you all know, you have an exam to complete," at hearing that, the class groaned as they didn't want to do another exam. "Settle down, everyone. Once you've completed the exam, then you may leave," flourishing her wand, she levitated them an exam sheet. "You may begin."
While a handful of students found the exam a challenge throughout the period, Daphne felt like it was a breeze as she finished within thirty minutes. After completing the exam, she raised her hand, signaling that she was done. Roxanne motioned for her to come forward and deliver the exam to her desk.
"Ms. Greengrass, I would like you to stay behind after class," Daphne heard her mother as she went back to her seat. Then, retaking her seat, she pulled out a book about Advanced Transfigurations and began reading the texts.
Since she finished everything for her O.W.L exams, Daphne felt pretty sure that she would do good on them when the time came. Also, she was near finished with the sixth-year syllabus for the subject. However, as she read through her book and made little sidenotes in the margins, she couldn't help but feel like she was being watched. From out of the corner of her left eye, she spotted Chang and Edgecombe sending death glares at her. Those two have been a major pain in the ass. Mostly Chang because of her constant subtle flirting with Harry, even though she already had Cedric. It was quite clear that she only wanted him for his reputation and didn't care anything for Cedric at all. From what she knew about their relationship Cedric was getting pretty tired of her as they often bickered over little things. Why would he want to be with a girl like her? She'd never know. Poor Cedric felt like he had no privacy or any freedom. Chang also apparently started some rumors about her using love potions on Harry.
While Daphne wanted nothing more than to shut the trollop up. She knew that it wouldn't amount to anything and only justify the rumors. However, if the idiot bird brain did something drastic and went after Astoria, Harry, or her, she would show how wrong it was to cross the Ice Queen of Slytherin. Daphne brushed them off and continued reading her book through the end of class.
Finally, the remaining time for class ended, the students were released save for Daphne, who went to the front of the room. When the last of the students left, Roxanne added some privacy wards so no one could overhear them. "During class today, your mind was elsewhere," her mother began. "Is there a problem?"
Daphne's eyes went wide. "It's nothing. I just have a lot on my mind," trying to wave off her mother's concern.
Roxanne raised a single eyebrow "come now, Daphne. I can tell when you have something on your mind. You're worried about Harry, aren't you?"
Releasing a breath, she mentally cursed how observant her mother was.
"I am only concerned about him," she admitted, "after hearing what happened to his aunt and cousin. It's hard to explain, but my magic keeps telling me to go to him."
Her mother regarded her for a couple of minutes. "I spoke with Severus about the matter, and he's agreed to let you skip classes for the day." Then, reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a stone "this is a portkey that will take you to Potter castle," handing it to her.
"All you have to do is say dragon to activate it."
Daphne hugged her mother "thanks, mom," stepping back. She said the password "dragon," and within the next second, the familiar pull from the portkey transported her out of Hogwarts.
After the spinning had ended and her feet touched the ground, Daphne found herself in a familiar garden. Quickly, turning around, she saw the castle, though before she could take a step forward, one of the house-elves appeared before her. "Young Ms. Daphne has returned," the elf squeaked. "Leroy is so happy to see you again."
"Hello, Leroy," giving a soft smile to the elf. "I came to see how Harry was doing."
The smile on the elf's face faded away and was replaced by one of sadness. "Young Hadrian has been locked in the training room for a couple hours. He is very sad and angry over the loss of Mistress Cassiopeia." Tears started streaming down his face. "Please, Ms. Greengrass. Help Leroy care for young Hadrian."
"That's why I'm here," she said, walking towards the door. Opening it, she walked into the foyer, where she made her way upstairs until she got to the floor where the training room was. The closer she got to the door, the more power she felt coming as it was coming in waves.
If the pressure was so intense on the outside, then it must've been worse on the inside. Channeling her own magic, she was able to make it to the door and open it, only to be greeted by something truly shocking. To say that the room looked like an aftermath of a warzone would be an understatement as she'd seen the destruction of the quidditch pitch after Harry and his teacher dueled. Compared to that, this was far worse as the area was destroyed, with dozens and dozens of annihilated dueling dummies on the ground. In the middle was a heavily battered Harry, who was in the middle of battling twenty-five or so other dummies and unleashing some very dark and destructive magic. Daphne could feel the anger, rage, and fury from his spells and knew she had to calm him down. She saw several bruises and deep cuts on his body as blood flowed out and was pretty sure that some of his bones had either been shattered or destroyed. Moving forward became difficult as the closer she got, the more pressure she felt from his magic. The air was also becoming increasingly thin. Even though it was hard, she refused to give up and proceeded forward.
"Harry," she called out. Not getting a response, she tried again, "Harry! Please stop," grabbing his arm and turning him around. His normal green, emerald eyes were replaced with pure black, which terrified her. "I know you are upset, and you have every right to be after what happened, but please don't lose yourself. Don't give in to your dark side and let it control you. That's not the man you are, and it's not the man I love."
Deep within the mind of the raven-haired boy, Harry was seething as there was an empty void filled with nothing but darkness and evil. It was the side of him that he had worked so hard to contain; after the death of Cassie, it became exponentially worse as it took control. All of the anger and rage he felt erupted like a volcano, and that's when he lost all his senses. His negative emotions overruled his rational mind, and he became violent. The only thing on his mind was finding the bastards and making them suffer for what they did. He would have continued, but the familiar presence, scent, and presence were enough to alleviate some of his anger and slowly bring him back. The darkness controlling him began to dissipate as his eyes regained their original color.
"Daphne," he muttered.
Bringing her hands to his face, "yes, Harry, it's me," relieved that he was starting to regain control. However, tears soon started coming out of his eyes as he collapsed to his knees. Luckily she was there to help ease him "that's right, let it out," she held him close, allowing him to cry his eyes out.
"It's not fair," Harry croaked. "Why her? Why my aunt? I should have been there."
"Shh. It wasn't your fault, and there wasn't anything you could have done," soothing him the best she could.
Daphne spent the next couple of hours comforting and then escorting him to the medical wing for treatment. According to Byakko and Suzaku, he had burned through most of his magic and was currently running on fumes. After thirty minutes in the rejuvenation tank, the elves transported him to his room so he could sleep.
"He's lucky to have you by his side," Byakko looked at her with respect. "Harry may be very mature for his age... but he is still human and has emotions. His cold exterior was built to hide all the anger and pain he has inside."
"Yes, I already figured that out for myself," Daphne sighed. It wasn't fair that he had to take on such heavy burdens. Were if she was in his place, then she would have burned Magical Britain to the ground beginning with Dumbledore and Voldemort, before working her way through the other death eaters. "I'm going to stay by him," leaving the room.
The two gods watched as she left the room. "She really does love him, doesn't she, Byakko?"
"Mmhm," nodding his head. "She is, without a doubt, the perfect match for him. But, of course, you know why Harry was chosen to be the protector of the magical world."
Suzaku trilled a bit "that I do. The only person capable of forming pacts with the gods is someone who feels the pain of the magical world and desires to bring it back into balance." He said knowingly. "However, he is still young and will need her by his side."
Byakko looked at him after sensing that a familiar yet powerful presence coming. "You feel it to don't you?" Suzaku nodded. "They are coming!"
"Glad to see our companions are coming."

Later that day, at around 7:50, Harry was still asleep in his bed. Daphne had chosen to remain by his side until he regained consciousness. Looking him over, she breathed a sigh of relief and brushed a piece of his messy hair out of the way. At the moment, her only concern was him and what she saw earlier. The way he destroyed the dueling chamber and those dummies were something she had never seen before. However, they paled in comparison when she saw the look on his face as it made him look like some blood-thirsty monster. Out of his three dueling styles, the one she witnessed came from his inner darkness! It was the side of him that channeled all of his inner darkness, turning it into a weapon. Daphne wasn't a fool to believe that Harry was the epitome of goodness as he had an evil side deep within him. He created the style to help him control and channel it into something positive. But that was easier said than done as it was more than a combat style. It was a state of mind!
According to him, no one was purely good as they had a dark side, and if they failed to control it, they could become the very evil they wished to destroy. Unfortunately, this is exactly what became of both Dumbledore and Voldemort. In the past, people believed that Dumbledore was the 'Leader of the Light,' a person who could do no wrong. But in reality, he was nothing more than a manipulative, power-hungry man who would do anything to complete his task no matter who got hurt. To him, they were nothing more than pieces on a chessboard, and the moment he had no more use for them, he'd dispose of them, as for Voldemort, that went without saying as he was pure evil to the core. He took all the anger and abuse he went through as a child and became one of the worst Dark Lords of all time. His entire empire was built upon a lie. He acts as if he was fighting for the pureblood cause, but the truth is that he was only doing things for himself. That murdering psychopath had no honor, no morals as he slaughtered muggleborns, half-bloods, and purebloods alike. To him, it was either join or die. And everywhere he went, there was a trail of despair and destruction left behind.
To put it simply, they were both evil and only accomplished things that would benefit themselves. However, Daphne's thoughts were interrupted when Harry groaned and slowly opened his eye. "Harry," she immediately threw her arms around him in a tight hug.
"Easy, Sapphire! Could you hug me a little more gently," his body may have been healed, but he still felt a little stiff. When she loosened her grip, he looked down in pure shame. "I'm sorry you had to see me like that. That is the part of me that should have remained in control."
Daphne moved one of her hands to his face and turned him to her. "It's ok! It wasn't your fault. You were angry at the loss of your aunt. The only thing you can do now is live for your other family members. That would have been what she wanted."
Contemplating what she said and remembering the promise he made to Cassie about protecting the family. Out of all the remaining members of the House of Black, Lucius and his son Draco were never considered members. Thus leaving only Arcturus, Sirius, Andromeda, and her family, himself, and Narcissa. The two Malfoys were not considered family members because Arcturus and Cassiopeia considered them unworthy. Resolving himself to protect the people in his life and ensured they had a future.
"What did I ever do to deserve you?" His eyes met hers.
She gave him a soft smile and replied. "By being you. You're the best man I have ever met in my life."
"Daphne," leaning forward, he brought his lips to hers and gave her a short but passionate kiss. "Thank you," he said after pulling away. "I know we've only been dating for a short period, but it feels like I've been with you a lot longer."
"Whenever I'm with you, I feel more relaxed. I'm trying to say that I love you, Daphne Greengrass, and I will do everything to ensure that you have a future," he declared.
Daphne was completely taken back by what he said, as it was something she had been trying to get him to admit for a long time. Instantly she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a more passionate kiss. Their tongues met and began fighting for dominance, making Daphne moan. Finally, after several minutes of snogging, the need for air became necessary, and they pulled away, gasping for air with both their cheeks pink.
"Harry, I feel the same way." Tears started coming out of her eyes. "I've been in love with you since third-year, but I never had the courage to say anything. And then there was that night at yule ball. It was one of the best nights of my life."
"I feel the same," wiping her tears away. He then got out of bed and was about to exit the room, but she stopped him.
"Hold it, mister. You still smell like the potion. Go take a shower," she sent a playful glare at him.
Chuckling a bit, he kissed her forehead before going into the bathroom. It was true that he hadn't showered in a couple days. Daphne went down to the main sitting room to give him some privacy.
Harry took off his remaining clothes, figuring it be better if he'd trash them as they were pretty much destroyed. After a much-needed shower, he pulled out a change of clothes, dressed, and made his way to the dining room. Upon reaching the main floor, he saw his two familiars and girlfriend sitting on the couch. The moment Suzaku spotted him, he happily trilled and flew from the couch over to his right shoulder and nuzzled against the boy's cheek.
"Thank god, you're alright," Byakko came trotting over and rubbed against his legs. "I know these last few days have been tough on you, and you have our sympathies. We knew how much your aunt meant to you. Despite her cold and ruthless disposition, Cassiopeia would have done anything for you and the other members of the family."
"Thank you, old friend," reaching down, he rubbed Byakko's head and scratched Suzaku's stomach.
Suzaku continued trilling a beautiful melody for a couple of minutes before speaking. "There are some people that would like to meet with you," his voice indicated that they were important.
Harry gave him a skeptical glare. "Whoever they are, can they wait? I've had a long week."
The Vermillion bird's expressions changed. "Trust me, you will want to meet them as they'll be able to provide a lot of help." Finally, Harry relented after hearing how serious his companion sounded. Suzaku gave a knowing look to Byakko, and together they raised their individual magic's and called out to their companions.
A blinding white light glowed before the teens, who shielded their eyes. A giant green turtle emerged within the next moment with a black anaconda size snake wrapped around it. Harry marveled at the two as he realized who Byakko and Suzaku were calling. Then, quickly snapping back into reality, he gave them a respectful bow which Daphne copied. They shared the same class of magic as the other two.
"It has been over a millennium since we've visited this realm," the snake was the first to speak. Then, surveying the area around, his gaze rested on his fellow gods. "Well, look here. If it isn't the White Monarch and Vermillion bird. How have the two of you been?"
Byakko roared with happiness and nuzzled against the giant turtle, who stared intently at Harry. "Hello, to you as well. It's been far too long since we've seen each other." Suzaku flew from Harry's shoulder over to the turtle's shell.
"So, this is where the two of you have gone," the turtle finally spoke, though to the humans' surprise was a female. She diverted her eyes away from the boy to Byakko. "White Monarch, why would you form a pact with this boy? When you've never shown any interest in the past," she said in a condescending tone. The snake around her turned its head away from Suzaku to look at the boy. 'Who is this boy? Whoever he is, his magic is synchronized with both Byakko and Suzaku's, very interesting.' Thinking to himself.
"Human. What is your name?"
"My name is Hadrian James Potter," Harry replied in parseltongue, much to their surprise. "It's an honor to be in your presence," he bowed again.
"You speak the language of snakes," unwrapping himself from his partner, he got closer to the boy, giving a quick sniff. "In the past, there were hundreds of individuals capable of speaking this sacred language. Now there are only a few left. Just who? Or what are you?" He had observed many two-leggers, but there was something different about this boy. The aura surrounding him was something he'd never seen nor ever sensed before.
Byakko stepped in just as Harry was about to speak. "Surely, you would've been able to figure that out for yourself. This boy has been chosen by the mother of magic to be the Protector of the Magical World."
"Really?" the turtle scoffed as the snake rewrapped itself around her. "Out of all the people that reside in this realm, why would the mother choose this child?"
Harry's irritation began to grow at the way she dismissed him. "I do not know why I was chosen as it's still a mystery to me," he stated. Then he took a step forward and continued. "Whether you like it or not is irrelevant. But know this, I will do everything in my power to protect the magical world, even at the cost of my life! If that's not good enough... then you can take your turtle self and get the fuck off my property!"
The two continued staring at one another. Each channeling their own brands of magic, the air around the castle grew thin with every passing second. Byakko used his own brand of magic to protect Daphne as she would have had a hard time breathing; instead, her outward appearance showed a calm attitude, but on the inside, she was nervous. The power emanating from the two would have been enough to destroy a good portion of the castle.
What seemed to be like a couple minutes felt like an eternity as the two finally stopped channeling their magic.
"Mm, you are indeed a unique and very interesting individual," she began, "and I can tell that you have a lot of potential... I don't believe I ever felt, let alone seen an aura like yours before." Then turning to Byakko. "Tell me, is this really the one who has been chosen."
"That he is," Byakko confirmed. "Despite what people may think, Harry has exceptional skills and has proven to care more about the magical world and all its inhabitants."
She eyed her companion with skepticism but stopped when the snake spoke, "I happen to like this boy. I don't know what it is about him, but he seems trustworthy; that and it's not every day I can meet someone who speaks my language."
Releasing a breath, she looked back at Hadrian. "Very well. Hadrian Potter was it? Sense the others, and my other half here vouch for you. I guess you can be considered a candidate. However, there is something you need to do before you can get a pact with me."
Harry walked forward. "I would be ashamed if there wasn't," he stated coolly. "What will I have to do to gain a pact with the two of you?"
"I will at least commend your courage," she responded in a monotone voice. "Since we come as a set, you will need to pass to requirements. First, you will place a hand on the Black Emperor," indicating to the snake, "and let your magic flow into him. Should it be lacking, we will devour you."
Cringing at her, he mustered his courage and placed his right hand on the snake's head. Then taking a deep breath, he pushed his magic into it.
"What are you?" the snake grunted as the boy filled his entire body with magic. The amount of pressure was something that was beyond him as he couldn't believe that a single human was capable of having this much magic.
Even the turtle was silently impressed with how much magic the child was releasing. "That's enough," stating in a booming voice. Harry stopped channeling his magic into the snake and removed his hand. "I'll admit you possess an incredible amount of magic for someone so young. But now it's time for your next test. Are you ready?"
"I am," a look of determination appeared on his face with his eyes burning.
"To get your pact, you will have to defeat me in battle," narrowing her eyes at him as he was surprised by what she said. "If you can avoid being attacked by me for an hour, then you shall get your pact. However, if you fail, then I will swallow you whole."
Quickly regaining himself, he looked at Daphne and could tell she wanted to protest but raised his hand before she could say anything. "Am I to understand that it will only be you who I'm fighting and not your partner," gesturing to the snake.
"That is what I said," nodding her head in confirmation. "Black Emperor, will you untangle yourself from me?"
The snake hissed something unintelligent before unwrapping himself.
"We will begin when you are ready?"
Harry flicked his wand out and saluted her. "Let's go," with a quick wave of his wand, he cast the tripping spell making the massive turtle fall on its' side. He then added a runic array to make the spell continue.
"W-what is happening?" the turtle was perplexed as she continued slipping and falling on her sides and back.
Byakko growled his approval and began laughing along with the large snake, who also enjoyed the show. Suzaku trilled a bit before resting back on Harry's shoulder.
"This is indeed a good show," he trilled. "By using the tripping spells and adding an array so the spell would continue, you've made things easier for yourself. Quite ruthless, but efficient."
"The only thing left to do is wait until the hour is up or she decides to give up herself." He then turned to Daphne, who was struggling to hold back her amusement. "Milady, would you like to join me for dinner?" holding out a hand.
"But of course, kind sir," she took his hand and allowed him to lead her into the dining room with the others except for the green turtle who couldn't stop falling over. The Black Emperor that came with her relaxed and watched his partner make a fool of herself.
When they entered the dining room, the elves brought the food in as the children sat down. Byakko was given a huge bison steak, and Suzaku got some fruit. Harry explained that the Genbu was in the main sitting room and had the elves bring them some food. After forty-five minutes and the four ate, they went back to where the Black Tortoise was, only to see her sprawled on the ground completely dizzy. While her companion hissed in laughter.
"Please, I had enough. Don't make me fall again," she said, unable to even move. "The entire world is spinning."
Harry took his wand and canceled the spell and array. "Sorry if I went a little too far," waving his hand, he summoned a pack of ice and added enlarging charm to make it bigger. He then levitated the pack so that it was now her head.
"Thank you," she muttered, to which he nodded his head.
After a couple minutes of rest and hearing the beautiful melody of Suzaku, the turtle was back on its feet. Her companion wrapped himself around her once again after enjoying the show. So not only did he get to see some entertainment, but he got some good food.
The turtle stared directly at Hadrian. "As a member of the heavenly beast, I acknowledge you as the victor. Now place your hands on us to allow our magics to synchronize." Harry did as he was told and placed both his hands on them. Then, the three started channeling their magics and were enveloped in a blinding white light. When the light died down, Harry's eyes glowed green, signaling that his magic was indeed synced with theirs. "It is done."
She started moving away but was halted by a screech courtesy of Suzaku. "Hold it, you two. You'll cause Harry problems if you lumber around in that form make yourselves smaller."
The snake responded. "Really? We need to make ourselves smaller like you and Byakko. We can do that watch," in that instant, they morphed into a regular-sized snake and tortoise.
Taking a knee, Harry looked at the two with a big smile. "Welcome to the family."
"Thank you for accepting us," they said in unison. Harry then adopted a thoughtful expression as he turned his head. "Hey Kai, why don't you take them to the sea? It's nice and warm down there."
"Kai?" the turtle gave her friend an odd look.
"Sorry you two weren't here, so I'll keep this brief," Harry spoke before Suzaku. "You see, if word got out that Byakko and Suzaku were actual gods, then that would attract a lot of unwanted attention. More notably from Dumbledore, Voldemort, and any other imbecile who'd demand they'd form a pact with them." He continued explaining the other reasons why they needed to have different aliases.
"The reason is sounded," the snake commented, "if word got out that the gods were now interfering with the lives of mortals, then a multitude of things will likely occur."
She grunted in agreement. "So, I assume you will also be giving us names as well? Well, I guess it would make things easier."
"Glad you agree," he began contemplating names for them until an idea appeared in his mind. Looking at the snake first, "how about we call you Naga?" Then turning his attention back to his companion, "and for you what about... Dayvee?"
The two silently debated on the names and, after some time, agreed to take the respective names. After that, Suzaku flamed them to the shoreline to inspect the sea for themselves.

Two days later, Harry and Daphne returned to Hogwarts. Harry could instantly tell when he arrived that the students wanted to ask questions like how he and his family were dealing with the loss of his aunt? Was Lord Black's threat real? What would he do if he ran across them? Thankfully, they didn't approach him with any questions as they feared what he might do to them. The student body from all three schools either knew how dangerous he was with a wand or saw his work firsthand. Even the Durmstrang students were wary of him as Harry not only defeated their headmaster and fourteen seventh-years, but they also heard about what he did to Morrison two years ago. One thing was for certain, though, Harry Potter was not a person they wanted to cross. What came as a surprise was that Dumbledore hadn't demanded an audience with either him or his sister.
Business was the same as usual Harry would hardly be seen in any of his classes, choosing to spend his time in the chamber of secrets with the four founders. First, he introduced them to the Genbu. Almost instantly, the ocean ruler got along with old Salazar, which surprised the others as they never thought that someone could be as cynical as their friend. While they talked, Harry conversed with Rowena about the orbs he's been creating. More accurately, Project Guardian. He was still looking for ways to make it more effective by adding more shield layers and reducing its time to recharge. Rowena was all but happy to help as she couldn't be prouder of the heir to her house. She nearly fainted when she heard how effective it was against the killing curse. Unfortunately, the only thing that could stop the killing curse is by conjuring different objects. Magical shields were ineffective against the unforgivables.
The two worked diligently for a couple of hours, with Harry showing her the rituals he thought might be of some use. Rowena found the rituals to be complex and very powerful though she told him to hold off on actually trying anything as neither of them had been attempted yet. Agreeing with her as it was the best course of action, he put the journal and all his notes away. Next, it was Godric's turn who asked how far his skills in martial magic had come. Harry explained the duel against two mid-master level duelists and defeated them. He also explained the new fighting style he was working on. Godric beamed with pride at his descendant.
"That really is some smart thinking," he praised. "Having a third style like this will enable you to conserve your energy and outlast your opponents. But, that said, I can't help but feel like it will only prolong the battle." He paused for a moment, then continued. "Don't get me wrong, it will help in the long run, but against someone like that worthless sack of shit, Voldemort. You're going to need an offense to match as the defense will only get you so far."
"You haven't told me anything I don't already know," Harry already knew where this conversation was going. "The style might conserve my energy and make my defense impenetrable, but I'll only be attacking only when it's necessary. And against someone like Riddle's unpredictable, vicious, and chaotic style my defense will eventually crumble," rationalizing his thoughts about the style.
"That is putting it mildly," Salazar hissed. "While you have surpassed many adult wizards both modern and in the past. Against someone like him," he spat out as if it was bile, "you're going to need a lot more. He was obsessed with learning the darkest forms of magic, and against my protests, he used the foulest, most heinous rituals to strengthen his body and magical core. In a sense calling him human would go way beyond the wildest stretch of human imagination."
Harry understood what he was saying as a confrontation between Voldemort and him was inevitable, and he was nowhere near close to ready. But, however skilled he may be, the fact remains that Tom had over fifty years of experience ahead of him and would not go down so easy. That and he still needed to find the last two Horcruxes. Internally groaning with frustration as that was problem number one. Problem number two was Dumbledore, as he was sure that the man wanted him to die. But, without a doubt, the old fossil had plans for him, and Harry was positive that they weren't good. Lord Black and the others shared his views as Dumbledore was no ordinary wizard and likely used a couple rituals on himself.
"What do you have in mind?" looking Salazar directly in the eyes.
The old Slytherin was in deep thought as he began thinking about the best course of action. It still irked him that Riddle defiled and twisted his former familiar, not to mention himself, by the different rituals he used while in school. He was pretty sure the little shit used other rituals when he left. From the memories he saw from Severus, he could tell that he dabbled into the most dangerous and forbidden forms of magic. According to the current head of Slytherin before the end of the first war. Riddle began experimenting on how to force those affected by the lycanthropy curse into their werewolf forms without the aid of the full moon. "It would probably be best if you performed a ritual or two to enhance your magic and body!"
Harry was about to protest, but Salazar cut him off. "I know what you're thinking, and I wasn't suggesting you do the rituals he did. Merlin, that's the last thing our world needs another unhinged psychopathic murderer... no, what I'm suggesting is that you use the rituals that don't require you to sacrifice your humanity."
"Before I consider performing a ritual, I'm going to need to read and evaluate their pros and cons," rationalizing as he had no desire of becoming anything like Voldemort. "Would you mind if I take a couple scrolls about the different rituals?"
Salazar grunted and directed the boy to his private library. Harry moved from the couch and walked into the library with Byakko. No matter how many times he had been in the library, it always amazed him with how many different texts, tomes, and scrolls were around. Walking into the section that contained scrolls meant for rituals, he grabbed a couple with the help of Byakko and brought them out. Just as he was about to put them in his bag, the secret passageway near the fireplace opened. Noticing the familiar magical signature, he immediately knew who it was and continued putting them in his bag.
"There's my workaholic brother," the teasing voice of his sister rang. "Put your books away. It's time for dinner."
Chuckling a bit, "alright, Shizuku, I'm coming." Then, lifting his shirt up, he allowed Byakko, Suzaku, and Genbu to take their tattoo forms. After they merged with his skin, he put his bag in his watch and walked up the stairs. "So, where do you want to eat today? Kitchen or Great hall?"
"Kitchen! The others are already there, and honestly, I'm getting pretty tired of dealing with some of the other members from Ravenclaw. More notably of Chang and her gang of giggling idiots," it was clear that she was annoyed with them. How they became Ravenclaws, she would never know. Cho Chang and Marietta Edgecombe were the most annoying out of the bunch.
The two siblings made their way out of the passageway to the basement, where they shared a mental discussion about Harry performing rituals on himself. After entering the kitchen, they decided to talk about it later. Harry took his seat next to Blaise but not before letting the gods out. The elves happily welcomed them and brought their meals.
After finishing her roast beef, Tracey was the first to speak "any news about the third task?" She looked directly at Harry. "Or what you might need to face?"
Closing his eyes and sucking in a breath, he shook his head. Truthfully, Harry had been wondering the same thing. Either the judges haven't decided yet or were in the middle of forming ideas. "It doesn't really matter," he replied. "I rather just get the rest of this tournament over with. The sooner it's over, the sooner that blasted Goblet of Fire will be destroyed."
"Damn thing should have been destroyed a long time ago," he would pay any amount of money to see the cup destroyed.
"Here, here," Aaron raised his goblet. "Father has been demanding to have it destroyed since the selection."
"That's putting it lightly," Lilith continued for him. "Ulrich sent me a letter saying that the Ministry is currently in chaos with Bagman and Fudge taking a serious beating. Speaking of which, Fudge hasn't been seen outside of his office since that whole fiasco with the second task and Fleur's sister."
"Hmph serves them right," Blaise grunted. "Those idiots should have known better than to put someone, especially an 8-year-old, down in a freezing lake."
"Damn straight! That should have been obvious!" Adrian added, "anyone with common sense would know better. Well, at least they're finally adding some extra security around here."
The others were of the same mindset as the tournament was a Ministry sponsored event. Therefore, they should have added protections to ensure the students' safety. Just as they were finishing up, Axel and a couple house-elves popped in with tears in their eyes.
"What is the matter?" Harry took a knee.
The elf to Axel's left croaked, "the... the bushy ha... haired girl is trying to kill us." She started sobbing even harder along with her companions.
Harry was confused about what was going on and turned to Axel. "Can I get some more details? What's going on?" When the elf said "bushy-haired girl," he automatically figured that Granger had something to do with why they were upset.
"The fourth-year lion has been leaving clothes around and is sentencing us to death." He shuddered with fear at the thought of being free. For a house-elf to be given clothes is the worse type of punishment as their entire race thrived on bonding with wizards and witches. If their masters or whoever they worked for gave them clothes, their lifespan would drastically be reduced. "She's already freed seven of us," blowing his nose into his potato sack.
"Suddenly, this makes a lot of sense," Astoria replied, bringing their attention to her. "Granted, I only heard a couple of the other students talking about how Granger's been trying to free house-elves. However, most of the students have either rejected or ignored her."
"That fucking idiot," Harry snarled as his anger increased a little. "Granger obviously doesn't know that elves live to work; their existence hinges on them working." He quickly noticed that his magic was reacting to his anger as the air in the kitchen started becoming thin. Axel and his friends even backed away in fear as they didn't want to be attacked.
Taking a breath and getting his magic under control, he turned to the others, "sorry, guys." He then turned back to the frightened elves. "Do you happen to know where the freed house-elves have gone?"
The young male behind Axel spoke, "yessir, we know where they are!"
"Good! Take a couple of the others and bring them back into the castle. They'll be bonded to the castle once again, then I want you to bring every single elf that works in this castle in here. I have new orders from them."
"It will be done, sir," he bowed and popped away along with three others.
"Hey, Sapphire, can you handle the tutoring session while I deal with this?" Looking over his shoulder at Daphne.
"Sure thing," giving a confirming nod. "Come on, everyone," leading the others out of the kitchen except for Emily, who decided to stay.
Within the next 25 minutes, the elves returned with their comrades, where Harry bonded them back to Hogwarts and not a moment later was surrounded by all of the elves that resided in the castle.
"All right, you lot listen up," he scanned the area. "As I'm sure you are all aware, a small group has been created to free house-elves from their "supposed" slavery." Of course, they all shuddered in fear as they already knew of the group he was talking about. "This will no longer be tolerated as you do not have to accept them. In fact, if there are any clothes meant for house-elves, then I want you to burn them. From now on, you will no longer be cleaning Gryffindor tower. If anyone asks, tell them that you're on strike as you value your lives!"
"Um, sir," a young male elf croaked. "What if the old headmaster orders us to clean the lion's den?"
"Tell him that I said that you will not clean the tower until SPEW has been disbanded." Sucking in a breath, he continued. "Ever since this castle was created, you and your ancestors have faithfully served this castle. This place is just as much your home as it's the staff members and students. I, hereby, promise you all that as long as I live and own this castle, none of you will be without a home."
All of the elves were moved to tears when they heard his declaration and began clapping with joy. A couple even started chanting, "long live the Protector of the Magical World!" Pretty soon, they all began chanting.
After a couple minutes, the animals that accompanied Harry resumed their tattoo forms, and both Harry and Emily left the kitchen.
"I can't believe what Granger tried to do." Harry looked at his annoyed sister. "What is she trying to prove? Anyone who has been in the wizarding world long enough should know that house-elves don't want to be free. They want a little respect."
"That's the problem, Em," Harry said as they made it to the fifth floor. "People in this day and age don't take the time to research the facts; instead, they're too happy to let things be... It's one of the few things why I detest being in Magical Britain. The people here are far too lazy. Before Dumbledore became a professor/headmaster, the courses here may have been challenging, but they ensured that the people were prepared for the outside world. But nowadays, students are only taught the bare minimum."
"It's embarrassing! To think all it took was the meddling of a manipulative old goat and weak-willed bastards in the Ministry to make the reputation of this place fall."
"You'll get no arguments from me. I looked into the previous courses and past results and could instantly tell that people were smarter and more powerful than now." She made sure to look into the school's history and researched everything there was to know about the previous electives. From what she could, a lot of the school's history had been either tampered with or erased. Harry, however, was able to lend her some of the previously erased texts from his library back home. Even though the school's history was seriously lacking, suspecting that Dumbledore had something to do with it. The Potters were quite thorough regarding Hogwarts origin and all its records. "Do you think-"
She didn't get to finish as a little blonde missile ran past them and slammed the classroom door.
"What going on?"
"I think we're about to run into some trouble," his face was a mixture between anger and seriousness. Thanks to his enhanced senses, he could tell that five people were fast approaching. Sure enough, the two saw the badges of two Slytherins and three Hufflepuffs. "You lot seem to be lost as your common rooms are in the basement and dungeons."
Throwing his senses to the classroom, he read the magical signature of the person inside. "Emily, check on Luna. I'll handle these clowns." He sent through their link.
She was just as angry as him, if not more. Three of the seventh-years had their wands out and could tell that they were close to firing some lethal spells, given the murderous glint in their eyes. "Harry, are you-"
"Do as I say. What's about to happen is not going to be pretty," the steel in his voice shut her up. He discreetly pulled out two recording crystals from his robe's pocket. Emily walked into the classroom and closed the door while Harry used wandless magic to lock the door.
"Get out of the way, Potter," Marcus growled as his face became red. It was all Potter's fault that he was disowned and was forced to take his mother's maiden name: Peterson. "This does not concern you."
"That's where you're wrong, as the girl you were chasing happens to be a friend of mine," he casually stated, flicking his wand out.
The Slytherin next to Peterson pointed his wand at him, completely unaware that Harry already had his wand out. "You can either move, or we turn you and your sister a mangled pulping mess; either way, we're going to teach that filthy cunt her place."
"Counter-offer you lot leave and go back to your common rooms, and you won't get hurt," the muscles in his body tensed as he scanned them.
"Bugger off Potter," one of the Hufflepuffs puffed out his chest in arrogance. "Do the math. There are five of us, and one of you. We out-number you, so be a good Gryffindor and move aside. You may have the other students scared of you, but we're not." He was still mad about that whole Chamber of Secrets fiasco as he originally believed that Potter was the one who was controlling the basilisk. Not only was he proven wrong, but Potter also beat him up when he and some of the others tried ambushing him and took nearly all the money his family had.
Harry was sorely tempted to let Byakko, Suzaku, and Genbu out so they could do whatever they wanted with them. However, that would surely cause many problems, and the media would have a field day. Potter releases dangerous creatures on the students of Hogwarts.
"Tell me, Octavion," he looked at the seventh-year from the corner of his left eye. "How did it feel when you and your friends lost so much money after attacking me. Maybe, I should take more from you idiots," a smirk appeared on his face.
The other two Hufflepuffs were infuriated by his remark. "Why you... Crucio," one of them yelled. Harry expertly dodged the dark red torture curse and retaliated with a disarming spell.
Soon, all hell broke loose as the five began firing spells like blood boiling, organ liquifying, brain-melting, and killing curses. Harry was ready for their assault and began dodging or batting their spells away. He quickly took down the two Hufflepuffs with the mage blasts. Peterson and the others were next as they were banished back towards the wall. Harry put some power behind his banishing charm and broke some of their bones.
"Is this really all you got? I'm a little disappointed," pretending to be sleepy, he yawned.
"Fuck you," Marcus roared. "Avada Kedavra."
The familiar green spell left his wand and raced towards Harry, who rolled under it. He then used the cutting curse and took Marcus's right hand. When the others got back up and began firing lethal spells at Harry, he lazily batted them away and retaliated with spells that were meant to break their victims. Within ten minutes, they had some serious injuries, ranging from deep gashes and shattered bones like ribs, arms, and legs. Three of them lost their hands and or arms. It didn't help that Harry also used fire magic against them; their skins were burnt as blood ran down their bodies.
"Enough playing around." Harry quickly disarmed them and shot lightning out from his hands at them. They all screamed in pain as the pain from Potter's lightning increased with each voltage. "On your knees!" His voice was dangerous as he increased the voltage, making them scream in absolute pain. After another minute, he stopped the lightning and watched as they writhed in agony. Their bodies were smoking as they were completely burnt.
Adding a few waves of his wand, he put them in full-body binds and bound them in chains. "I'll let Madam Black and her Aurors deal with you lot," with another wave of his wand, he summoned the crystals back to him. Just as he was about to put the crystals in his pocket, a body slammed into him from behind. Turning around, he wrapped his arms around Luna and channeled some magic to relieve some of her pain. After pulling away to get a good look at her, the anger in him boiled as she had some deep bruises, a black eye, and was close to nude. She was wearing only her bra and panties; quickly taking his robe off, he wrapped it around her. "It's ok, Luna. They won't be able to hurt you again."
"I thought I would be safe in the common room, but" she continued sobbing into his chest. "Please don't make me go back."
"You won't not if I have anything to say about it." He carefully picked her up and looked at Emily.
"Contact the Aurors and professors and tell them to meet us in the hospital wing."
"Amelia is already on her way with a group of Aurors," she replied before casting her dolphin Patronus and adding a message for it to deliver to the professors. "What do you want to do with them," gesturing to the chained seventh-years.
"Bring them with us. We'll let the Aurors deal with them. The sooner they're away from here, the better."
Giving him a quick nod, she pointed her wand at them and quickly cast a couple bone exploding curses at them. Now a lot more of their bones were destroyed. "Consider yourselves, fortunate you deserve far worse than this. And if y'all think this is over, then you have another thing coming." With a wave of her wand, the five of them were levitating out of the hall.
It didn't take long for them to make it to the hospital wing, and as soon as Madam Pomfrey saw the state Luna was in, she ushered Harry to put her in one of the beds. While Emily dropped the assholes on the ground as they didn't deserve any treatment. The resident matron began fixing the girl but was interrupted when the doors to her wing burst open, revealing the professors and Aurors.
"What in the name of Merlin is going on here?" Filius squeaked. The shock on his face quickly morphed into one of rage when he looked at Luna.
"A question we all like to know the answer to," Dumbledore said. The usual twinkle in his eyes was missing as they were replaced with anger and disappointment. "Ms. Stevenson, would you please lower your wand and explain why the five of them look like they fought some dangerous animal."
"That would be because of me." Harry turned around and looked the headmaster in the eyes. "You see, headmaster, these fucking cunts were chasing after Luna, here with the intentions of causing her more pain."
"What!" they all shouted at once.
"I gave them the chance to leave in peace, but that dumbass," he pointed to the Hufflepuff who was missing an arm. "Tried to use the cruciatus curse on me, that eventually escalated into a duel between myself and them. If you don't believe me, here's your proof," reaching into his robes and pulling out one of the crystals.
The occupants watched the footage and were torn between shock and being outraged. They saw how Harry tried to defuse the situation and gave them the chance to leave in peace, but they were adamant. The people most angry were Filius, Severus, Pomona, and Amelia. Dumbledore gave Harry a disappointed look which he ignored. Emily handed their wands over to her so she could inspect them. Then, one by one, she and her Aurors cast the diagnostics charm to see what spells were used. Amelia's temper had reached its boiling point, and she looked ready to curse them herself. But, instead, she ordered her men to take them away and lock them in holding cells.
"As of right now, the five of you are hereby expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry," Dumbledore looked at them with utter disgust. "Never in all my years have I ever seen a pair of students use unforgivables on another student."
The two Slytherins tried looking at their head of house for support, but Severus refused to meet their gaze and sneered at them. The anger in his black eye could be seen. He would be sure to exact his own brand of justice on them as well as the Hufflepuffs who cast the unforgivables on his son.
Pomona wasn't any happier than he was as she couldn't even look at her former badgers. The Aurors just took them away.
Septima soon regained her voice. "There is something I'd like to know first," turning her head to Luna. "Ms. Lovegood, where are your clothes?" She could tell that the robes belonged to Potter as they were too long for her and the familiar Gryffindor emblem.
"The nargles took my clothes like they took everything else from me," Luna croaked. "They always do this to me."
The professors were confused by what she meant, save for Minerva, who looked ready to berate her for making up stories. Only to be stopped after receiving a sharp glare from Harry.
"Luna, these nargles, they wouldn't happen to be your housemates, would they?" She tearfully nodded her head. Now the professors knew what she was talking about; Minerva looked down in shame. Filius, on the other hand, looked murderous.
Professor Flitwick was a kind man who hardly ever got angry, but to hear that one of his star students was being bullied by the other members of her house was unacceptable. "Ms. Lovegood, I cannot apologize enough for what has happened to you; this should never have happened, and I am even ashamed that the members from my own house have been doing this. Rest assured; I will deal with them in the morning."
"I do not blame you, professor," she replied in a small voice.
"This is getting out of control," Harry commented. "Professor Flitwick, for the rest of the year, Luna will not return to Ravenclaw tower. It's quite clear that it is unsafe for her to be anywhere near there."
"Yes, I agree," Flitwick replied. "But where will she sleep?"
"I have a spare room that will be more than acceptable for her," Harry looked at him. "However, this goes beyond school bullying as your eagles attacked someone under the protection of the House of Potter and House of Black." The professors (except for Severus) paled at what he said. They realized that things were about to get ugly.
"Don't forget the House of Stevenson. We do not take kindly to those who attack our allies," Emily added with venom in her mouth.
"Mr. Potter, Ms. Stevenson, are you sure that is the best course of action?" Dumbledore looked at the pair. "While I understand the two of you are angry but don't you think that the students have suffered enough. I mean, they've already been maimed and have been expelled. There's no reason to add insult to injury."
The other professors didn't share his taste for forgiveness at the moment as they stared at him with complete loathing. Then, before either Emily or Harry could speak, Septima snapped at him.
"Are you insane! Five students tried to kill Mr. Potter with the unforgivables and intended to torment Ms. Lovegood. As far as I'm concerned, they get what they deserve... and that's not counting the other students in Ravenclaw. They had no rights ganging up on someone who couldn't fight back."
"My dear Septima, I understand your anger, and I am just as upset as you are, but the students are young and foolish," rationalizing his point. "They've already been severely injured and will likely be spending the remainder of their years in Azkaban. Don't you think that's enough of a punishment?"
"That law is the law, Dumbledore," Harry replied, bringing the attention to him. "You should know that. But then again, I wouldn't expect someone like you to understand as you like to twist and manipulate it to suit your purposes."
"Mr. Potter I-"
"Let me make this very clear to you," Harry cut him off with his eyes burning with fire. "You so much as try to protect the students who attacked Luna, then I will make sure to ruin what's left of your reputation. Don't test me on this!"
Albus gritted his teeth as he paled even more. There was no doubt that Harry would carry out his threat if he interfered. Why couldn't the boy understand he needed to learn to be more forgiving. Resolving himself, he swept out of the room with the other professors except for Flitwick.
"Professor, I would like a word with you in private before curfew. Is that possible?"
"Yes. Please come by my office later," he replied. "I will, of course, need you to tell me where you intend to house Ms. Lovegood so I can send her belongings."
"Consider it done." Harry gave him a nod. "Would it be possible for my sister to remain here with Luna for the night?"
Filius looked at his two eagles. Mostly at Luna and could tell that she was happy with her friend. "I don't see why not. Is there anything else you need?"
"One thing," Harry reached into his watch and pulled out the map, saying the password. "Luna, can you show me the people who attacked you today?" She pointed to four different people currently in the Ravenclaw common room. He lowered the map so Filius could see who she pointed to. The half-goblin professor made a mental note to deal with the aggressors tomorrow morning. Harry then deactivated the map and placed it back in his watch. Professor Flitwick wished them a good night and left the wing.
When the charm's professor left, Harry called one of the house-elves and asked him to compile a list of things stolen from Luna, who had them, along with a list of people who had been bullying Luna both directly and indirectly. He explained that he would be in Professor Flitwick's office if needed to find him. The elf understood how serious the situation was and popped away.
"I have to head out," they turned to him. "Luna, I'll check on you tomorrow."
"Thank you for looking after me," the small blonde gave a look of gratitude. "Not many would do what you did?"
Giving a wry smile. "You should know by now that I am different." That was all he said before leaving the two of them. The students in the corridors backed away as they felt his magic and the power he was emitting was dangerous. Whatever happened? Or whoever pissed him off? One thing was for sure they didn't want to be caught in the crossfire. Arriving at Professor Flitwick's office a couple minutes later, he knocked on the door.
"Come in." Harry opened the door and walked in to see the tiny professor sitting at his desk scribbling something on a sheet of parchment. "Ah! Mr. Potter, I trust the reason why you wished to see me this evening has something to do with your friend."
"Yes, Professor. Or, more accurately, your entire house," he answered, causing the man to narrow his eyes. Then continued. "From what I gathered when Luna said nargles, there has been more than a couple of students bullying her. Most of which have come from her housemates."
Filius found his voice. "Like I said in the hospital wing, I will deal with them in the morning. It bothers me to no end that this happened. Ms. Lovegood is one of my best students and certainly doesn't deserve to be harassed by members of her house."
"Glad to see we're on the same page," Harry commented with a grin. "However, this matter goes beyond school bullying as they attacked someone under the protection of the Houses of Potter, Black, and Stevenson! As such, they will be punished, most severely. I have already assigned one of the house-elves to compile a list of all those responsible for bullying her and ordered them to retrieve everything taken and give them back. He should be back within an hour or two."
"Good," Filius leaned back in his chair. "Now, what about her sleeping arrangements?"
Harry explained the room of requirement and how it will provide Luna a room for the rest of the year. Filius's eyes shined bright at the mention of the come and go room as he'd seen it multiple times in the past.
Two and a half hours later, the elf Harry called to retrieve Luna's thing popped in the office looking angry. He gave Harry a list of stolen items, who had them, and made sure to give them back to her. The next list contained a list of those who had been bullying her directly and indirectly. Harry thanked and dismissed him. When the elf popped away, he handed the pieces of parchment to Flitwick.
Filius had to pull out a calming draught as his face was red with anger. This was far beyond what he had ever imagined, as three-fourths of the students under his charge were directly bullying Ms. Lovegood. A tenth was doing it indirectly. What really set him off was that his prefects either participated or turned a blind eye to it.
"This ends tomorrow. This is a school where students are meant to feel safe," he bristled.
A/N: As you all can see Cassiopeia's death had an effect on Harry and in his anger he released his dark side. Luckily Daphne was there to bring him back to his senses. Fenrir and the others have no idea what they've awakened!
The third heavenly beast forms a pact with Harry.
When it comes to Harry, Miwa, and Daphne performing rituals on themselves I have tallied the votes and thought long and hard about the matter. I have decided to go through with it as they're going to need every advantage they can get. It's quite clear that both Dumbledore and Voldemort are not normal wizards and must've used some obscure rituals to increase their powers.
I'm sorry about Luna as she is a special girl who might be a tad eccentric. But is still a good person. Flint, his friends, and the one's who'd been attacking her will be punished that I promise.
Next Chapter: Time to face the music! Beware my power and don't mess with my family!
Sidenote: I'm going to have Luna trained.
