Chapter 3: Pact of the Mew
Ash and Pikachu couldn't believe what they saw: the five girls of Café Mew transformed into heroes. Zoey, Corina, Bridget, Kikki and Renee couldn't believe they've been spotted. Mutated chimpanzees began to surround the boys and girls. Ash and Pikachu approached while the girls as they tried to process what the two discovered. "Weren't you suppose to stay back at the café?" argued Renee.
"Excuse me if we can sense trouble!" debated Ash. "Right now, we need to get these guys under control." Corina, armed with a hand-held sky blue bow and arrow with a heart for the tip, nodded after a quick look-around.
"Indeed, we need to stop the Predasite Chimpanzees," she warned. The chimpanzees slowly crept to the group. Zoey had a scepter with a heart at the head, Bridget had green castanets with a pink gem in each, Kikki had a gold tambourine and Renee had a whip. One monkey raced after the group. Ash spotted the mutated animal.
"Pikachu, Quick Attack!" he called. Pikachu leaped off and raced after the chimpanzee, jumping and slamming, knocking back the chimpanzee. The simian staggered back. Kikki awed Pikachu's strike.
"Awesome!" she liked. More chimpanzees raced after the group to which Renee whipped them, one catching the leg.
"ZaCross… Whip!" she yelled as she swung the mutated monkey into others but a few jumped up. Corina and Bridget prepared themselves.
"Deep Sea Surge Attack!" called out Bridget as she crossed her arms and flung them back out. A surge of water came out of the castanets, nailing the chimpanzees. One more leaped above and Corina did a few ballerina spins to work that hand-held item into a bow and arrow. She took aim.
"Heart Arrow!" she shouted before an arrow fired, striking the chimpanzee and adding to a pile.
"Keep that pile going!" called Zoey. "I wanna get them all in one shot!" One chimpanzee leaped from behind and aimed at Corina's back. Ash ran to Corina as she was about to be attacked.
"Look out!" he shouted. Corina turned to see the fast approaching chimpanzee and froze, startled. Ash dove in and tackled Corina clear before Pikachu's cheeks began to spark. He emitted a blast of electricity that zapped the chimpanzee. That mutated simian flew onto a couple of other chimpanzees into a growing pile. Zoey gulped to Pikachu's ability.
"Pikachu… can do that?" she shuttered. Ash looked to Corina, concerned about her condition.
"You okay?" he asked. Corina's face became red, a boy this close to her being unfamiliar.
"I-I…" she stuttered. "…Think so." Ash nodded before turning to see Kikki surrounded. Kikki acted like a monkey before climbing and throwing two more. Two other chimpanzees ducked but with the tambourine, Kikki grinned.
"Tambourine Trench!" she called as she slammed the ground, causing the chimpanzees to lose balance. Ash grabbed one of his balls.
"Grovyle, Leaf Blade!" he called out. The ball opened and Grovyle emerged with its arms crossed and green blades protruding and glowing. It slashed at the chimpanzees, launching them into the pile.
"Great work!" spoke Zoey as she held her scepter. "Allow me!" With a spin, bubbles began to fly around. "Blue Aqua Drops!" She wove her scepter which splashed on the Predasite Chimpanzees. They splashes reversed the looks to baby chimpanzees. They looked worn out and confused. Ash and Pikachu came to the tiny monkeys.
"Hey, you okay?" he asked. The baby chimps looked up, not sure who this boy is. Two of the babies actually crawled up Ash's arms, wanting to be held.
"They're so young…" awed Bridget. "Those aliens transformed them to attack us."
"And they don't look harmed," Renee studied. A truck came by. A couple wearing hiking outfits in to see the baby monkeys.
"Are they okay!?" the woman asked.
"They look alright," Zoey observed.
"That flying being did something to these kids and the preservation cage back at the zoo," the man sighed. "The cage can be repaired but these are endangered chimpanzees and we can't lose them." After herding the babies into the truck, they thanked the girls for their efforts. One chimpanzee waived bye to Ash as the truck left.
"Those aliens are getting serious," Renee sighed, her arms crossed. Ash turned to the girls.
"Okay, there's… a lot of questions I have about what's going on," he shrugged.
"So do we," Renee huffed. "Like why you chose to follow us and learn about our secret." Ash and Pikachu felt cornered.
"Oh yeah…" he muttered. Pikachu rose his hand and lowered his head.
("I got him involved,") he admitted. ("I'm sorry.") Hearing the somberness of Pikachu's voice, Kikki believed Pikachu brought Ash to see them transform.
"So, it was you who saw us, huh?" she teased. Pikachu's head slowly bobbed.
"And you know, I can't take my eyes off my partner," Ash added. "So, does that mean Mark, Wesley and Elliot are in on this as well?" Zoey nodded to Ash's suspicion.
"We don't have a choice in the matter," Bridget told the others. Zoey and Renee nodded to what the next step was.
"Let's get back to Café Mew and we'll discuss the details," Zoey instructed. She led the group back with Ash and Pikachu standing in dismay.
("What have I done?") mulled Pikachu. Corina came to Ash and Pikachu with a smile.
"I didn't have a chance to thank you for protecting me," she giggled. Ash wondered to Corina's praise.
"You can tell me, now," he offered. Rather than say it, Corina leaned to and kissed his cheek. Ash's face became red quickly. Corina sauntered off with Ash touching his kissed cheek and the Pokémon looking perplexed. Back at Café Mew, Elliot was briefed to the events that lead to Ash and Pikachu helping out. The girls were back to their waitress outfits as Kikki jumped on Ash to hug him.
"You were so cool back there!" she cooed.
"I get that, Kikki," irked Ash embarrassingly. Learning what happened, Wesley sighed.
"I guess we have little option to go on," he murmured. "Ash, Pikachu… Café Mew is a front in the battle against the aliens that have invaded to, in their words, reclaim their world." Ash and Pikachu blinked to the information.
"Aliens?" repeated Ash. "Like what happened to those baby monkeys?"
"They're Predasites," Elliot started. "By giving those chimpanzees infusers, they transform into Predasites." Ash and Pikachu gulped to the information.
("I can't imagine…") shuttered Pikachu. Wesley gave Ash three photographs. They all had guys with pale skin and large pointy ears. One was a green-haired wearing ragged clothing: a brown t-shirt over a black shirt and shorts. The second was a tall and sturdier man with midnight-purple hair and in a black muscle shirt over a purple sleeveless suit. The last was a short brunette while wearing a red vest under a blue ribbon and shorts.
"These are the three main aliens: Dren, Sardon and Tarb," Wesley listed respectfully by pointing at each photograph. "We're not sure if they're the main three or if there's someone higher up that is fighting to reclaim Earth." To Ash, it was a serious deal.
"Dren, Sardon and Tarb…" he repeated.
("They don't seem too friendly,") Pikachu studied.
"And to think, we have a method of dealing with them," Mark continued. Ash and Pikachu turned to the girls.
"The five we saw transform?" guessed Ash.
"That's right," Wesley confirmed. "See, Zoey, Bridget, Corina, Kikki and Renee formed the Mew Mews. They have animals fused among themselves." Pikachu gasped to the thought of the girls and animals together.
("They have Pokémon abilities on them?") he tried to understand.
"We have different animals: cat, bird, monkey, wolf and fish!" listed Kikki. Renee palmed Kikki's head. Elliot decided to form an explanation.
"It goes like this," he started. "Zoey's fused animal's the Iriomote cat. She has the ability of stamina, agility and reflexes. She's fallen from a few tall trees, but has managed to land on her feet. Corina's animal's the Blue Lorikeet, a small blue bird with a hooked beak. While it doesn't mean much, her dancing as a ballerina shows itself from time to time." Ash and Pikachu looked over to see a bobcat by Zoey's Mew picture and the blue bird by Corina's. "Bridget's animal's the Finless Porpoise. Kikki's wrong because it's a dolphin than a fish." A picture of the Porpoise appeared by Bridget's picture.
"To clarify, not all creatures in the oceans or lakes are fish," Mark added. "Dolphins are mammals and need air to breathe." This made Ash and Pikachu astounded.
"First time seeing a dolphin, and it's not a Pokémon," Ash gulped.
("First I heard that a Water-Type needs air!") gawked Pikachu.
"And it's… embarrassing to say," Bridget voiced. "But… I… can't swim unless I'm a Mew Mew." Pikachu raced up Bridget's side and to her shoulder before patting her head, making her blush. "Thank you for cheering me up."
("Always!") assured Pikachu. Elliot prepared himself to continue.
"Kikki's animal's the Golden Lion Tamarin," he added before showing a red monkey with a mane around its face and a tail about as long as it was.
"Are you sure it's a golden lion?" blinked Ash. "It looks more like a red Aipom."
"The Golden Lion Tamarin is a class of monkey," Wesley clarified. Ash nodded, understanding Wesley's point. "Kikki is a circus in a total package. She can do acts no one else can. She's also a martial artist, helpful since her father's a Chinese Martial Arts master."
"So, beware aliens and this Petalburg City!" warned Kikki. "I can kick butt and have fun!" Ash shuttered to what Kikki could do to him.
"Lastly is Renee," Elliot continued. A gray wolf emerged by Renee's picture. "Renee's animal's the Gray Wolf. Not only is she strong but also cunning and will find ways to escape with her ZaCross Whip." Having a better understanding, Ash and Pikachu knew the ordeal.
"That means, I gotta protect your identities from coming out," Ash concluded.
"Sure does," Corina agreed. "But… who knows… you may learn a few things before we escort you back home." Ash nodded, knowing the café will need some extra help.
"The only problem is that your Pokémon will still be out in the open," Renee brought up. "If those people learn about you, there's a good chance they'll want to know what you just learned." Ash nodded, not wanting to endanger any of his Pokémon, even Pikachu.
"It's not a choice I have," he shrugged. "I'll need to learn to work here, since I'm still in exile from home."
"Then, we're in agreement," Wesley smiled. "I can take Ash home to get fitted before I bring him to school tomorrow." Ash blinked to the thought.
"Uh, school?" he repeated.
"Yes, you'll be attending Mountain Valley with Zoey, Mark and Bridget, then, you'll report back here," Wesley planned. After work, Ash and Pikachu had gone with Wesley back to his home where a gray uniform was prepared. Ash tried it on and wasn't bothered by it.
"Not bad," he believed.
"You'll also need to keep your silence about your Pokémon so that the people don't get suspicious," Wesley advised.
"I'll try." Then, Wesley provided the uniform for the café. Like with the school uniform, Ash found it fitting like a glove. "I feel professional in this."
"That's for sure." Even Pikachu's thump was up. After that, it was late. The next morning, Ash exited Wesley's home and proceeded to a direction with a hand bag and his school uniform.
"First day going to school," he muttered. Before he could step out, Wesley came with in some casual clothing.
"I gotta register you in the school, anyway," he reminded. They reach a large school where Mark, Zoey and Bridget came up.
"Morning, Ash!" greeted Bridget. Ash and Wesley turned to see the three of them.
"How about that, we can attend classes together!" cheered Zoey.
"It'll also be a first for me since I'll be learning a lot," Ash shuttered.
"I'll bet, and without any of your Pokémon on hand," Mark added.
"Okay, guys," Wesley giggled. "Let me register Ash in and we'll take it from there." The others bobbed nods before going in to which Ash was greeted by girls who started to notice. Welcome to class, Ash.
