Chapter 5: Rescue the Rescuers Pt. 1

Hey howdy hey hello, welcome to the show! It's ya boi, Enigma, back with a... part one? Yep!

This one ended up being really long, so I split it in half. This part's got all the build up for a bunch of fighting tomorrow.

A bunch of fighting. I'm so excited, I love action. As you can imagine, I can't wait for the Sports Festival.

Anyways, enjoy!

Feel free to review, but don't just rip into me. I'm doing this for fun, not excessive criticism.

"For today's basic Hero training… it's turned into a class with three instructors: All Might, me, and one other person." Aizawa announced unenthusiastically.

"Turned into?" Hiryu thought to herself, "Was it meant to be something else? Did they change it because of the incident yesterday?"

"Excuse me!" Sero raised his hand, "What will we be doing today?"

"Disasters, shipwrecks, and everything in between." Answered Aizawa, "It's rescue training!"

"Rescue…? Looks like it's gonna be a lot of work this time." Kaminari tugged at the collar of his shirt.

"Idiot!" Kirishima rolled his eyes. "That's the duty of Heroes! I'm ready to rumble!"

"No one can beat me in water, ribbit." Tsuyu assured no one in particular.

"This is so exciting!" Ashido said happily, clapping her hands.

"I can't wait! I'll crush it, promise!" Moxie pumped his fist in the air.

"I'm not finished." Aizawa interrupted angrily, glaring at the students, "You can decide if you want to wear your costumes or not this time," He continued, "Seeing as you aren't used to your costumes, they could limit your abilities. The training will take place off-campus, so we're taking a bus. That is all. Start getting ready."

The class wasted no time preparing, grabbing their costumes and heading to the changing room.

Outside U.A.

Hiryu and Moxie, as well as everyone else, decided to wear their costumes regardless of what Aizawa told them. Hiryu had put plenty of thought into her costume, and Moxie was just too stubborn to listen.

"Alright everyone, listen up!" Said Iida, already in his hero costume as he blew a whistle to get everyone's attention, "Form two neat lines by your student numbers so we can load the bus in the most efficient manner possible!"

"Iida's really enjoying the role of class rep, huh?" Ashido said.

"S-Seems like it." Hiryu nodded

"Ugh, a bus ride? I could bounce there twice as fast; this is just boring!" Moxie groaned.

Onboard the Bus

"The bus's layout ruined my boarding strategy," Iida sulked.

The bus was open layout with seats on either side facing each other. Hiryu was sitting in the back-left corner, Kirishima in the middle to her left. The class was held up briefly arguing about where the hyperactive Moxie would sit, while he was outside kicking rocks around waiting to get onboard, and eventually decided to just sit him next to the exit and pray he stayed there.

"You really need to chill." Ashido told Iida, sitting next to Moxie.

"If anyone needs to chill it's Moxie." Jiro pointed out.

"Bus rides are so boring! I could get there in no time, so why have I gotta ride the bus, huh?" Moxie demanded grumpily.

"Cause you can't use your Quirk outside the school?" Jiro shot back.

"If we want to point out the obvious, then I'd like to say something." Tsuyu said as she turned to Midoriya, "It's about your Quirk, actually."

"W-what about it, Asui?" Midoriya stuttered nervously.

"Just call me Tsu." She told him.

"Oh, right." Midoriya responded, embarrassed.

"Your Quirk… it seems a lot like All Might's, doesn't it?" Tsuyu said calmly.

"D-does it really? I-I guess I never noticed." Midoriya blurted out, suddenly appearing panicked.

"Come on, Tsu." Kirishima interrupted, "All Might doesn't hurt himself when he uses his Quirk, it's way different than Midoriya's."

Ashido turned to ask Moxie what he thought, but paused when she realized he seemed to be car sick. It suddenly became abruptly obvious why he really didn't like bus rides.

"But a simple augmenting Quirk is still pretty cool." Kirishima continued, "You can do all kinds of flashy stuff with it, my hardening lets me beat down bad guys, but it doesn't look all that cool."

"I think it looks great though, definitely Pro material," Midoriya told him.

"You really think so?" Kirishima asked.

"Definitely!" Midoriya said.

"Yeah, but it's way easier to get noticed with a flashy Quirk," Kaminari interjected, "And the two flashiest in class are probably Todoroki and Bakugo."

"Hey, don't forget Hiryu!" Hagakure interjected.

"P-Please don't drag me into this…" Hiryu begged.

"You're d#mn right!" Bakugo growled.

"Yeah, but Bakugo's always angry," Said Tsuyu, "So no one'll like him."

"What'd you say!?" Bakugo exclaimed as he shot up from his seat, "I'll kick your #ss!"

"See what I mean?" Tsuyu asked, pointing at Bakugo over her shoulder.

"It is kind of telling," Said Kaminari, "We haven't known you but a few days and it's already obvious your personality is flaming sh#t stewed in garbage."

"What the hell's up with that vocabulary, you f#cking extra?! I'll make you regret the day you applied for this school!" Bakugo screamed.

"Alright, we're here, so stop messing around!" Aizawa called from the front of the bus.

"Yes sir!" Everyone except for Moxie responded, as the bus pulled in front of a large dome-like building.

Outside the Dome

Moxie took a deep breath when he stepped off the bus, the feeling of sickness fading quickly.

"You doin' alright, man?" Kirishima asked.

"Better now!" Moxie laughed, "I'm jogging back, though."

"Can't say I blame you." Kirishima grinned.

"Hello everyone, I've been expecting you!" Proclaimed a person in a kind of astronaut outfit with yellow boots.

"It's Thirteen, the Space Hero!" Midoriya said, entering fanboy mode.

"Awesome!" Cheered Uraraka, "Thirteen is one of my favorite Heroes!"

"I can't wait for you to see what's inside!" Said Thirteen as they directed them through the main entrance.

Inside the Dome

The inside was massive, with different zones simulating different disasters.

"In here are all manner of simulated disasters, such as a fire, a shipwreck, a windstorm, a landslide, and so on. You see, I created this training facility to teach others how to handle all manner of disasters, I call it 'The Unforeseen Simulation Joint' otherwise known as… the USJ!" Thirteen explained.

"Like Universal Studios Japan… that's kinda funny!" Hiryu smiled to herself.

"Catchy name." Moxie gave Thirteen a thumbs up.

"Hey, shouldn't All Might be here already?" Aizawa asked Thirteen.

The two teachers talked in hushed tones for a minute, and Aizawa mulled something over.

"Alright, well, the clocks ticking, so let's get started." He decided.

"Excellent." Said Thirteen, "Now before we begin I have one thing to say, or two, maybe three, probably four or five, possibly six or seven."

"It's increasing!" Everyone thought.

"Listen closely now," Said Thirteen, "As you all likely know I have a powerful Quirk known as Black Hole, which can be used to suck up anything and reduce it to dust."

"That's right, you've rescued a lot of people from disasters with your Quirk." Midoriya said, as Uraraka nodded her head excitedly.

"I have." Responded Thirteen, "But my Quirk could also easily be used for killing."

Everyone seemed surprised by that sudden shift. Well, everyone except for Moxie.

"Well, yeah. That's kinda obvious." He scratched his chin.

"Some of you also have potentially dangerous Quirks, how dangerous is often a fact overlooked in today's society where Quirk usage is stringently regulated, but never forget that if you lose focus or make the wrong move it could be deadly, even when you're trying to do the right thing." Said Thirteen, "Thanks to Aizawa's fitness test and All Might's training, you should have a solid idea of how powerful your Quirk is and how dangerous it can be to other people, but today you'll be learning to use your Quirks to save people's lives, not for attacking or defending, but for helping, which is what being a Hero is really about, ensuring the safety of others."

Everyone applauded as Thirteen took a bow.

"Alright." Said Aizawa, "Now that that's over-" He stopped speaking as the sound of surging electricity filled the room and all the lights around the domed ceiling quickly shut off.

Looking down, Moxie and Hiryu saw a mass of black smoke expanding in the center of the facility. Everyone seemed confused as people began walking out of the mass.

"What's going on? Has the training already started?" Sero asked.

"I thought we were doing rescue training." Kirishima said, confused.

"If it's combat training, I can-" Moxie began.

"Those are real Villains! Thirteen, get the students to safety!" Aizawa cut him off.

"Real freakin' Villains?! Why aren't there any alarms?" Kaminari wondered.

"A good question." Said Thirteen, as the students all began leaving.

"The power was clearly shut off." Yaoyorozu explained, taking out her phone and trying to contact the school, "And they're jamming the phones, too, I can't reach anyone."

"Neither can I." Hiryu shook her head.

"Doesn't matter, keep trying." Aizawa ordered, preparing for battle, "Kaminari, see if you can contact the school with your Quirk."

"R-right!" Kaminari said, "But, what are you going to do in the meantime?"

"There's too many Villains for you to fight on your own, especially considering your fighting style!" Midoriya said, panicking a little.

"Can't be a Hero with only one trick." Aizawa said as he ran towards the Villains and engaged them in combat.

"Incredible, he uses his Binding Cloth with such proficiency, and those goggles hide his line of sight, so he can fight against large groups!" Midoriya said, reaching for his notebook.

"Midoriya! Now is not the time to be analyzing! We need to leave!" Iida said.

"Right!" Midoriya said, as all of the students made their way to the exit.

"I'm very sorry, but I cannot allow that to happen." A voice said, as a ball of smoke appeared, blocking the entrance.

"Who are you?" Sero asked.

"My name is Kurogiri, and we are the League of Villains," Responded the voice. While it spoke, the ball of smoke took the form of a man, "Pardon our rudeness, but we thought we'd let ourselves in to say hello. This is, after all, a fitting place for the Symbol of Peace to meet his end." Continued the Villain, "I believe he was supposed to be here today, his absence must mean there was an unforeseen change in plans. No matter, there is still a role for me to play."

The pointer finger on Thirteen's suit opened up, but before they could attack, Moxie, Kirishima and Bakugo all rushed in to attack. Kirishima and Moxie ran into each other, falling over, but Bakugo kept going, firing off an explosion which Kurogiri managed to dodge.

"You ought to be careful, someone might get hurt." Kurogiri said.

Hiryu's wings spread out as Kurogiri's black smoke shot out to engulf the students. She tried taking to the air, but the smoke caught her, warping her away alongside the other students.

"I will scatter you around the facility to meet my comrades, and your doom." The smoke Villain told them.

"We need to stick together!" Iida shouted.

"Everyone! Grab onto me!" Sato cried, as Sero grabbed him with tape, ready to pull him out.

Moxie and Kirishima picked themselves up, ready to rush to Sato, but the smoke caught them before they could.

Before he knew what was happening, Moxie was spat out somewhere else, plummeting through the air. He reoriented himself, flipping around till his feet were facing the ground.

Closing his eyes, Moxie focused as best he could on the air beneath his feet, trying to ignore the wind whipping past his ears. His Quirk activated a few feet before he hit the ground, and he bounced off the air, landing safely on the ground.

"Close one!" He laughed, bouncing back and forth. Looking around, he noted the flames engulfing the city around him, the sky above him choked with thick black smoke.

"Wonder where I am…" He scratched his chin, "That guy said he'd 'scatter us around the facility', so I guess I'm still in the USJ…"

"Hey, I got one!" A Villain behind Moxie shouted, quickly being joined by several others.

"Oh, cool! Figuring out where I am is tough, but this'll be easy!" Moxie laughed, taking a fighting stance.

Hiryu was in the air when she was teleported, and she was still in the air when she came out of the smoke. She shook her head, reorienting herself, nearly flying headfirst into a billboard.

She tried to avoid it, but the wind whipping all about her threw her off course, slamming her into the billboard before sending her plummeting towards the ground below.

She reached out and grabbed the side of the building, digging her claws in to stop herself before sliding down the wall at a safer rate, hopping off when she reached the bottom.

"Alright, that Villain mentioned he'd only teleport us around the facility, so I'm still in the USJ. This must be a zone dedicated to windstorms." Hiryu thought aloud, the wind nearly deafening her as it rushed by her. Her wings certainly weren't helping her maintain her balance, "I'll have to move quickly if I want to find the others."

And that's the whole thing! Well, the whole first part. You'll get the second part tomorrow.

But, until then, stay safe everyone.

Enigma, signing off.
