Chapter 6: Rescue the Rescuers Pt. 2

And here's the second part! I know what you're saying "But both of these chapters combined isn't even as long as chapter three, why did you not cut that one?"

Well... I managed to cut down the word count a little more, so sue me.

Anyways, enjoy. I had a good chance to write some action this time, maybe even let me know what you think.

Feel free to review, but don't just rip into me. I'm doing this for fun, not excessive criticism.

Six Villains stood on one end of the street, three more stood on the other end, surrounding Moxie. On either side the buildings were engulfed in raging flames. A trickle of sweat ran down Moxie's cheek as one of the Villains rushed him.

A towering mass of muscle with four arms charged towards Moxie, swinging for his head with two arms. Moxie leapt into the air, the Villain's swing smashing a fire hydrant. He landed on the Villain's forehead and leapt back, sliding to a stop.

"Missed me!" Moxie grinned.

"Don't get cocky!" Another Villain shouted, his arm shifting into a huge spike as he lunged towards Moxie, jabbing downwards towards the boy.

Moxie jumped to avoid the attack, the spike plunging itself into the ground, and he landed upon it. His right foot bounced off the spike and slammed into the Villain's jaw.

"Augh!" The Villain was sent stumbling back as Moxie leapt off the spike, backing into the four-armed Villain.

"I gotcha!" The Villain tried to grab Moxie, who leapt into the air and out of the way, landing on his head.

Flipping off the Villain's head, slamming them face first into the pavement, Moxie landed on his feet and jumped backwards, putting some distance between himself and the Villains.

"D#mn it, why don't you just sit still?!" A rhino-like Villain shouts, stampeding towards Moxie.

Moxie dodged to the right and landed a powerful kick to the Villain's head, pushing them off-course into one of the burning buildings, which collapsed on top of them.

"Ooh, that didn't look good…" Moxie realized, leaping into the flaming rubble.

"You d#mn brat!" The rhino-like Villain burst out from beneath the rubble, grabbing Moxie's leg before he could leap away.

The Villain swung Moxie around by his leg, slamming him into the ground before throwing him to the side. Moxie hit the ground rolling, pushing off the ground and spinning to his feet to catch himself.

"Seems like this might actually be a good fight!" Moxie laughed, stomping his foot.

Hiryu made her way into an alley between two buildings, seeking some kind of cover from the biting wind, finding the respite she sought.

"Found you, found you!" A voice above her laughed.

A Villain, with eight arms sprouting from their torso and a head like that of a spider, clung to the wall above her, laughing like a maniac.

"Aah!" Hiryu shrieked, running out of the way as the Villain dropped down, rubbing his many hands together.

Before the Villain could attack her, a shadowy hand appeared from behind him, slamming him into the wall and knocking him out.

Dark Shadow stood before Hiryu, giving her a thumbs up as Tokoyami and Koda approached.

"Th-Thank you…" Hiryu went to scratch her chin, but remembered her gauntlets and decided against it, "I c-can't fly in this weather…"

Tokoyami nodded in response, continuing to walk.

"We must regroup." He said.

"R-Right, we've gotta find the others." Hiryu agreed, following Tokoyami.

Koda followed as well, not really speaking. Hiryu wanted to say something to break the ice, but didn't want to push anything so she just decided to keep walking.

It didn't take long for them to come across more Villains, searching the zone for students. Hiding in the shadows of the alley, they waited quietly for the Villains to get close enough.

The moment they were within reach, the kids struck. Hiryu wrapped her tail around a Villain's neck, slamming them into the ground and pinning them. Dark Shadow took down the remaining two, knocking their heads together.

"We should make for the exit." Tokoyami suggested.

Ojiro was lost, wandering through the flaming city. He hadn't seen anyone for a couple of minutes, neither friend nor foe showed themselves.

Suddenly, Moxie crashed backwards through a nearby window, followed closely by the rhino-like Villain, who crashed through the entirety of the wall.

"Come on, keep up slowpoke!" Moxie laughed, bouncing away down the street, the Villain hot on his tail.

"Stand still so I can squash you, brat!" The Villain roared, trampling a streetlamp in his efforts to catch Moxie.

Ojiro gulped when he saw the group of Villains that followed Moxie and the rhino-like Villain, quickly jumping onto a streetlamp and swinging to higher ground.

"Hey, there's another one!"

"Where? I don't see nothin'."

"Somewhere around here, he just jumped away!"

"Find him!"

Somewhere else in the facility, a great boom echoed out. It sounded some distance away, so Ojiro assumed it wasn't in the zone he was in. Hopefully, it was one of his classmates and not a Villain.

Moxie continued to bounce away from the rhino-like Villain, laughing all the while and throwing a few taunts his way, which only served to aggravate the increasingly frustrated Villain.

Hiryu, Tokoyami and Koda snuck alongside a building, the exit in sight. Three Villains were guarding it, but it didn't take long for them to knock them out.

"The door is sealed. Dark Shadow." Tokoyami spoke. Dark Shadow gripped the door tightly, prying it open.

A group of Villains rounded the corner, spotting the students and rushing towards them. Hiryu quickly shoved Tokoyami and Koda through the door, freezing it behind them to prevent the Villains following.

"S-Sorry…" Hiryu apologized for shoving them.

"Don't be." Tokoyami told her, looking around. Nearby they saw a dome with flames decorating the ceiling, and decided to make their way towards it.

As they approached, a rhino-like Villain smashed through the door. Moxie leaped through after them, landing on their head.

"Y'done?" He asked, as the Villains stumbled about.

"Ye… yeah…" The Villain groaned, collapsing.

"That's nice." Moxie smiled, "I suppose I'll be getting back to the group now."

"Hey, you kids!" A police officer ran up to them, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah. Can't say the same for this guy, though." Moxie tapped the Villain's head with his foot.

"Let's get you back to your friends." The officer gave a sigh of relief, leading them out of the USJ.

Outside, most of the class was gathered, aside from Midoriya.

"Where's Midoriya?" Moxie asked.

"Not sure." Kirishima shrugged, "Where did you end up? I was in the ruins zone with Bakugo."

"I ended up in some kinda fire zone, I think I was alone." Moxie scratched his chin.

"I-I was there…" Ojiro raised his hand awkwardly.

"Oh, you were? Why didn't you say something?" Moxie asked.

"You had your hands full with that rhino Villain…"

"Hiryu, Koda and myself were in the Windstorm zone." Tokoyami explained.

"That must have been tough, Hiryu, not being able to fly with all the wind." Tsuyu spoke up.

"Y-Yeah, I ran into a billboard at first…" Hiryu admitted, pointing to a bruise on her forehead.

"You should speak to one of the officers, they might be able to get you some ice!" Kaminari suggested, trying to be helpful.

"Uh…" Hiryu wasn't quite sure how to point out she could just create a block of ice by breathing. At least Kaminari meant well.

And there's the whole thing! Soon, the Sports Festival begins, and I'm super excited. Before that, though, you'll have a more unique chapter focusing on Hiryu's family relationship, and Moxie's training with a special guest. They're someone who's already been introduced, and exist in the main, canon story. Not an OC.

Anyways, I'll be seeing you then.

Enigma, signing off.
