The woman could be heard downstairs calling for Bella, and Bella wasn't too happy about having to meet her. She assumed the woman was probably nice? But she didn't want to deal with a babysitter "life coach" and a Demon from heck that only she could see. She looked at BJ hopefully, "Can you get me out of this?" He looked surprised that she had asked him for help, but he figured that if he did her a couple of favors she would have to say yes to freeing him. He looked around the room, trying to remember where that pull-down staircase was, "Hmm… There!" He pointed to a spot that was a slightly different color than the rest of the ceiling, it was unnoticeable unless you were specifically searching for it.

Bella looked where he was pointing, and tilted her head confused, "How is that going to help me?" she asked curiously. BJ smirked," Just watch," he snapped his fingers and Bella watched as a staircase magically unfolded itself down. "Woah…" Bella murmured impressed. BJ felt proud that he could impress Bella, but then he heard footsteps on the stairs outside, "Kid if you want to avoid the lady downstairs, you better hurry. She's coming right now," Bella was snapped out of her stupor and quickly went up the stairs, "Help me pull this up!" she hissed to BJ. "Watch your hands, kid!" he snapped his fingers and the staircase folded itself up at twice the speed it was before, causing a startled Bella to fall backward with a thump.

Barbra and Adam were on the wooden bench, about halfway through their book. They had learned a lot about their situation just by reading a couple of chapters. For example, the realm where ghosts go is called the Nether world, which is where they needed to go after finishing the book. They've only been reading for about five minutes but Barbara was already getting tired, "Can we take a break, Adam? I'm getting a headache from staring at these pages…" Adam tried to encourage her to keep going, "Come on Barbara, just a couple more pages…" Just when Barbara was about to argue, they both heard a loud thump from one of the attic entrances.

"What was that?" Barbara whispered to Adam. Adam stood up and saw the 'intruder', "Not what, who! It's Bella!" Barbara stood up startled, "Really?" They looked over as Bella got up and dusted herself off, "Did we ever show her the attic?" Barbara asked, "No I don't think we did…" Adam replied. Bella looked around the attic in awe, "It's so spacious up here! I knew this house was bigger than it seemed…" Adam chuckled, "She still is fascinated by everything, isn't she?" Barbara sighed as she smiled, "Apparently…" Bella walked over to a small pile of boxes and searched for something to entertain herself. Adam got anxious as he saw her rustling in the boxes, "She needs to be careful, those are my antiques that…" He grew quiet, but Barbara finished the sentence for him, "That Emily gave us…"

Bella stopped and gently lifted a small music box. 'This is mom's ballerina music box! I haven't seen this in so long…' She thought to herself, 'Does it still play?' She opened the lid and smiled, she loved the decorations of the pink roses and ballerina shoes surrounded by the gold accents. She found the gold key on the inside of the box, 'Glad this didn't get lost…' She inserted the key and turned it, anxiously awaiting the magical chimes from the elegant antique. Soon enough the center started spinning, making the tiny ballet slippers look like they were alive by the power of the music. Tears threatened to fall down her face as memories of her and her mother rushed through her mind, "She used to play this to help me go to sleep…" she whispered to herself quietly.

Adam and Barbara watched in silence as the music box played, neither wanting to disturb the peace they all felt. It was as if Emily was here, if only for a few minutes. So when the music box finally finished playing, they all felt a wave of sadness wash over them as reality once again reminded them of their terrible loss. Bella put the music box as she wiped her eyes, "Mom… I wish you here…" Adam's heart broke to see her look so wistful, "Bella, we miss her too…" he replied instantly, forgetting that he was a ghost and normally wouldn't be able to be heard by living people… Keyword being, normally. Bella looked up extremely surprised, "U-Uncle Adam?!" she exclaimed, "I thought you were dead!"

Adam was equally shocked, "I- uh-" Bella didn't let him finish and ran over to hug him. Barbara laughed in shock, then walked over to Bella and Adam, "Am I chop liver, Bella?" she said in a teasing manner. Tears fell down Bella's eyes as she let go of Adam to hug Barbara, "I thought I'd never see you two again!" she sobbed as she was held in Barbara's arms. Barbara smiled and comforted Bella quietly, then motioned for Adam to join the group hug, which he did. While they were having their family reunion, Beetlejuice watched silently from the shadows, envying how they had each other to rely on and be comforted by. 'They don't know how lucky they have it…' he thought bitterly to himself.

Growing up, he was constantly told he was a mistake. His mom never intended to have him, so it wasn't a surprise when his father left them to go who knows where when he found out about him. Because of this, his mom always treated him like an unwanted pest, and would constantly drink away her problems. He remembered the day that he had laid all his cards on the table, only to be crushed by his mom's reply, "It's me or the booze," his young self yelled tears streaking down his face while he clutched a bottle of liquor. His mom, in one of her fits, walked over quietly, "Well then..." She snatched the bottle from him and stared him dead in his eyes, "I choose the booze,"

It was that day that he realized he was alone, and a hole was ripped into his soul. He tried multiple ways to fill it, most were accepting his demonic desires. Torturing innocent souls, scaring people until they became hoarse from their screaming, and the occasional flirting. Nothing helped. What hurts him the most was seeing families spending time together, and enjoying each other's company. He had accepted that he was never going to change from his old ways, but he did have one secret desire. He wanted someone, anyone even, to look him in the eyes and say "I see you, I accept you, and I fear for my safety around you."

He shook his head as he sank through the floor, 'Idiot, you can't go getting your hopes up. You're a literal demon from heck. You're an unlovable piece of sh**. No one is going to take the time to get to know you, why would they? You're a creep whose sole purpose in life is to make people miserable, including yourself. So stop wasting everyone's time!' He landed on one of Bella's chairs disheartened, "Focus on getting released from your curse, Beetlejuice. Stop getting distracted… You're unlovable, and that's that."
