29- The Calm

Early Fall

Trunks woke up with a heavy sigh. Although he was tired, he had never felt better. He grinned to himself and reached out beside him to pull Pan close. He frowned when the covers beside him were empty and cold. Slowly, he peeked and eye open and propped himself on his elbow as he looked around his dark room.

His balcony doors were open, and Pan was standing in the middle of them. Her pale body glowed in the moonlight. Her dark hair was a tangled mess behind her, and she was wearing the black shirt Trunks had worn earlier. He felt as if he were still dreaming to see such a sight.

Quietly, Trunks got out of his bed and picked up his underwear that was lying on the ground. He slipped them on quickly before he started to walk over to Pan. He was a few feet away when a sudden shiver ran through the air. He couldn't explain it, but it made him freeze in his tracks, and his eyes widened as he looked at Pan.

That's not her, a voice inside of his mind whispered.

Trunks blinked in surprise. Of course that Pan, who else would it be?

"Panna?" Trunks called softly.

She turned around to face him, and Trunks let out a sigh of relief. Those were Pan's eyes and her smile. What had he been thinking to think that someone else other than Pan could be there?

She took a step towards him and winced slightly. He was quick by her side as he closed the gap between them. "Sorry," she muttered as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders. "I'm a little sore."

"It's okay," he told her as he kissed her forehead. He had been gentle earlier since it was both of their first times, but he knew she would still be sore for a day or two.

Trunks could feel the small bumps on her arms from the crisp air, and he rubbed them gently. "What are you doing out here?" He asked softly.

"I was looking at the Dragons Den," she motioned her head to the mountains.

"Huh," Trunks mused. He had never realized he had such a good view of the mountains from his room. He kissed Pan's temple and let go of her. "Are you ready to come inside?"

Pan nodded her head, and with a small smile, he held her arms out to him. He scooped her up gently, and she giggled as she wrapped her arms around his neck as he shut his balcony door. His heart started to race the closer they got to his bed, and he laid Pan down on it gently before crawling in beside her.

"I'm cold," she whispered to him. "Warm me up," her cold fingers drifted across his chest.

"How do you want me to do that?" Trunks asked quietly. "With my covers, my Ki, or my body?" He could hear his low voice ask.

Even in the dim light, he could see Pan's face going pink, and it was a sight he enjoyed very much. Her fingers ran down his chest and to the waistband of his boxers, and Trunks could feel blood rushing into his ears.

"Your body," Pan had barely said the word before Trunks' lips were on hers.

"Panna," Trunks murmured against her lips. "You will marry me, won't you?" He asked quietly. It had just dawned on him that he hadn't properly asked her, or that she had answered.

Pan smiled and cradled his face. "Yes," she told him, and he felt himself grinning. "Yes, a million times over as long as it's you," she said before she pulled him close.

Late Fall

"Pan?"

Pan let out a small gasp and as she was called out of her thoughts. "Sorry," she apologized as she looked up at Dr. Brief. "What were you saying?"

"Just that your check-up is good," Dr. Brief said gently. "Are you alright, Dear? Are you worried about Trunks?"

Pan pooched out her lips. Trunks had been away for a raid for the last several weeks, but he would be returning within the next week or so. Although Pan was always worried when he left, that wasn't what had her mind so distracted- though it did have something to do with Trunks.

"Dr. Brief," Pan began, and she licked her bottom lip nervously. "Whatever we talk about, it's private, right?" She asked gently.

Dr. Brief tilted his head to the side curiously.

"I mean, I know you have to keep Mama and Gohan informed about my health with all my problems," Pan waved her hand. "But if I were to talk to you- ask you about something personal, it would be private, right?"

"Yes," Dr. Brief nodded. "Truthfully, Princess, your health is your own business. If you wish for me to stop informing the Queen Mother and the King about-"

"No," Pan shook her head. "You can keep telling them about my checkups, but there is something I want to talk about. Something private," she said as her stomach fluttered nervously.

Pan let out another breath and swallowed hard. She knew she shouldn't feel embarrassed because Dr. Brief had been her doctor ever since she was born, but she was.

"I want to be on birth control," Pan said.

Dr. Brief was silent for a few short seconds. "Pan," he began quietly. "Have you-" he paused for another few seconds. "Have you and Trunks-"

"Yes," Pan answered quietly as her cheeks grew warm. "Just a few times-" her cheeks grew even hotter. "Trunks had protection."

Her last weekend she had spent on Vegeta-Sei, they had barely left Trunks' room. Right after that, he had to go away for a raid, and Pan was eager to see him again. She hoped he was just as excited to see her.

Dr. Briefs nodded slowly. "I see," he said. "Pan, I'll get you some medicine right away."

"If- if I were to end up pregnant, would I even be able to carry a child?" She asked softly.

She had thought about it several times since the first night she and Trunks slept together. The thought of having a child with Trunks was enough to make her stomach flutter in excitement, but she worried about how her poor health would affect a baby.

"I believe you are capable of having strong and healthy children," Dr. Brief said. "You are so much stronger than you know."

Pan smiled at him, warmly. "Thank you, Dr. Brief."

Pan could feel the shift in the air when Trunks arrived, and she smiled. She turned around just in time for his arms to wrap around her waist. He was kissing her face all over, causing her to laugh.

"Trunks!" She pulled away from him and scrunched up her nose at him. He was still in his dirtied armor. Had they just came from a fight? "You're all dirty," she shook her head at him.

"I've missed you," he whined as he pulled her against him.

"I've missed you too," Pan sighed against him. She let out a gasp when she felt Trunks' hand slip under her shirt, and she leaned back.

"Panna-" he whined when she removed his hand.

"Go take a shower first," she laughed as she shook her head at him. She leaned up and kissed his lips. "Once you get all the dirt off of you, hop in the bath, and I might join you."

Trunks raised his eyebrows at that. "You promise?" He mumbled.

Pan smiled and nodded her head. "I'm just going to finish the hem to a dress, and then I'll be in there," she promised.

Trunks smiled and lifted her hand and kissed it before he went to the bathroom. Pan watched him go with a small smile. Her hand came up to hold her necklace, and she felt herself growing warm. She shook her head slowly before turning her attention back to her work.

It was close to half an hour later when Pan made her way down her loft and towards her bathroom. She could smell the flowery aroma of her perfumes. The room was steamy, and Trunks was sitting in the bathtub with his eyes closed as he leaned against the back of it. Pan smiled and quietly took off her clothes.

As soon as Pan took the first step inside of the bathtub, Trunks' eyes opened. Even through the steam, Pan could see how his blue iris darken, and even though the water was warm, she shivered. He held his arms open to her, and Pan sat down on his lap. She tried to stop her moan as she felt his hardening member brush up against her.

"I've missed you so much," Trunks whispered against her lips.

Pan smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "I've missed you too," she told him.

"Have you been well? No fevers or sick days?" He asked softly.

"No," Pan shook her head. "I've been making sure to healthy, so I could properly welcome you back," she moved her hips against his.

Trunks took a sharp intake of breath, and he grabbed her hips with a smirk. "That's my girl," he said before Pan pulled him over for a kiss.

"Come on," Bulla said as she pulled Goten down the hallway. "I know you've been curious to meet him."

Goten pouted under his mask as he followed Bulla. He had met Trunks before in passing during raids and missions, but he had never officially been introduced to him. But ever since he had found out that the Saiyan Prince was the one dating his sister, he had been extremely curious.

"Oppa!" Bulla yelled as they turned hallway and saw Trunks cleaning a sword as he walked down the hall. "I'm surprised you're here."

"Haha," Trunks muttered with a roll of his eyes as he put his sword up. "You're not funny."

"I thought you would be visiting Pan," Bulla snickered.

Goten let out a small breath. He knew Bulla hated keeping such a secret from Pan, but she sure did like to tease Trunks.

"I'm going to visit her later," Trunks said as his lips twitched. "She's out shopping with her Mom right now."

Goten felt a pang in his chest. His Mom... he missed her so much. He couldn't wait to see her, Pan, and Gohan again.

Trunks' eyes cast towards Goten, and Bulla let out a small gasp. "Oh, this is-"

"Tenku," Trunks said.

Goten blinked, honestly surprised that Trunks knew his cover name. "Yes," he said with a small nod.

"You were on that long-ass raid with me last winter that lasted until this spring," Trunks smirked.

"Yes," Goten nodded, again surprised that Trunks remembered that.

"You were awesome," Trunks told him as he crossed his arms. "One of the best ones out there. Next winter, I'll turn the Royal Age and officially be declared next in line for the throne. I'll be making a new Royal Squadron, and you're one of the guys I told Radtiz I wanted."

"Really?" Bulla gasped for Goten.

"Yeah, you should see him put out there, Bulla," Trunks grinned. "But I'm assuming you already see quite a bit of him, don't you? Since you sneak off-"

"Hey!" Bulla shouted as Goten felt himself growing warm.

Trunks snickered as he avoided Bulla's hits. "How do you put up with her?" He asked Goten teasingly.

"You jerk!" Bulla huffed as she crossed her arms. "Next time I see Pan, I'm telling her you're being mean to me."

Trunks gasped, "stop telling on me to her!"

"Stop being a jerk!" Bulla said.

Trunks narrowed his eyes and pouted. "Fine," he rolled his eyes.

Bulla giggled and elbowed Goten. "He's so smitten with her. Last time, Pan wouldn't kiss him until he apologized to me, and you should have seen how much he sulked."

Goten felt his lips twitching. He felt a lot better than he had. He could tell by the way Trunks' eyes softened when he talked about Pan that he genuinely cared for her. Goten was glad his sister was in such good hands.

"Hey, Oppa," Bulla said. "Doesn't Tenku's eyes remind you of Pan's?" She asked suddenly.

Goten's eyes widened, and he sent a panicked look to Bulla. What was she doing?!

Trunks glanced at Goten for just a few seconds and frowned. "Nah," he shook his head. "Panna's eyes are much darker," he informed Bulla.

Goten felt himself sighing in relief. Trunks was right, though. He and Gohan had inherited their mother's soft chocolate-colored eyes. Pan had gotten their father's coal-black eyes that shined even in the darkness.

"That girl-" Goten spoke up. "The one you're seeing. Do you really like her?"

"Like her?" Trunks raised an eyebrow and shook his head. "I love her," he grinned. "She'll be the Princess here one day soon."

Bulla gasped, "what do you mean? Are you proposing soon?"

"I already did," Trunks said.

Goten's eyes widened in shock. Pan was engaged?!

"When?!" Bulla demanded.

"Her birthday. I gave her a ruby necklace from the Dragon Dens."

"And did she know what that meant?"

"Yeah, I've told her only Royals wear rubies from there, and that night I told her I wanted to marry her," Trunks huffed.

"But did you actually propose to her?" Bulla asked.

"I did!" Trunks huffed. "The next morning-" he muttered, and Goten could see his cheeks turning a slight shade of pink. There was an image of Trunks and Pan Goten refused to imagine. He would keep pure and innocent thoughts of them in his mind.

"What did Pan say?!" Bulla squealed.

"What do you think she said?" Trunks rolled his eyes. "She said yes, of course."

Bulla squealed again and looked at Goten. "Isn't this wonderful?" She sighed.

He nodded his head slowly. He was happy for Pan, but he was also worried. "What about her family?" He asked. "What do they think?"

"Her Mother approves," Trunks smiled gently. "And so does her older brother, they both were happy. Only problem is, her Mom knows I'm a Saiyan, her brother doesn't, and I'm not sure how we're going to tell him." Trunks' brows furrowed together as he frowned.

Goten let out a sigh. Trunks and Pan would have to tell Gohan about him being a Saiyan sooner or later. It was probably best they start thinking of telling him sooner.

"You haven't told Eomma yet, have you?" Bulla grinned.

"No, and I'm not-"

"I'm going to tell!" Bulla said in a sing-song voice.

"BULLA!" Trunks yelled, but Bulla was already down the other end of the hallway. He let out a shout, "SHE'LL PESTER ME NONSTOP NOW!" He screamed as Bulla disappeared. He let out a heavy huff and looked at Goten. "You really like her?" He motioned down the hallway where Bulla had been.

Goten had wondered why Trunks hadn't asked about his and Bulla's relationship, but now he understood that he was waiting until they were alone. There were more questions Goten wanted to ask the Prince about his and Pan's relationship too, but it would most likely blow his cover.

"I do," Goten said honestly as he nodded his head.

Trunks' lips twitched, and he let out a small snort. "You're going to have your hands full, Buddy," he laughed as he patted Goten's shoulder.

It was strange for Goten how normal talking to Trunks felt. It was almost as if they had been friends for a long time when instead, they had just been properly introduced.

"Are you going to chase after her?" Goten asked Trunks.

"Nah," he shook his head with a snort. "My Eomma was going to find out about Panna and I being engaged soon anyway," he shrugged. He eyed Goten and tilted his head. "You know, you do kind of remind me of someone I know."

Goten felt his stomach drop.

"Endou," Trunks said. "You're like a quieter version of him," he laughed. "You want to go grab something to eat?" He asked as he started to walk down the hall. "I'll need to store up on my energy before my Eomma finds me."

Goten let out a laugh and quickly fell into step beside Trunks. "Have you had the dumplings from the Weiza Stall?"

"Not yet."

"You're missing out!" Goten said as he slapped a hand to Trunks' shoulder.

"Come. Let's get lost in each other. Deeply. Drown me altogether until our hearts beat as one."
