Chapter three

"I don't understand her." Meadowkit complained to Bisonkit, spewing out his thoughts and feelings, "It's as if she hates you, but she's known you all your life and is good friends with your mother."

"I guess she just doesn't make sense." Bisonkit shrugged, "There's nothing you can do."

"I know." Meadowkit sighed, "I just wish I could."

"I get it. Firekit and Icekit never want to do anything with me, and I can't force them to. It's their decision if they want to be lazy badgers, and it's their decision if they finally want to do something with me for a change, but they have to do it on their own." Bisonkit starred Meadowkit in the face with stern, amber eyes.

"Thank you, Bisonkit." Meadowkit purred, "We best be heading to bed." He glanced at the sky.

"Alright." Bisonkit nodded.

...

Meadowkit avoided his mother's gaze, watching the sunlight glow through the entrance as it slowly set. It had been a moon since he had insulted her, and they still weren't getting along.

Swandance and her kits were already snoring softly on the opposite side of the nursery, and Daisyshriek laid next to Meadowkit. She seemed more distant, as if she didn't want to get closer.

"Blossomkit!" She called loudly, making Meadowkit jump.

A golden brown patched pelt pushed through the brambles. Blossomkit's fur was covered with leaves, and her eyes were droopy with exhaustion.

"Come lie down, dear. You look exhausted." Daisyshriek ushered her over.

Blossomkit smiled weakly and quickly curled up by Daisyshriek's belly.

Meadowkit shifted, suddenly feeling uncomfortable, as the queen started grooming Blossomkit's fur. He shot a glare at Daisyshriek before resting his head on his paws.

Blossomkit's snoring filled the den quickly, and soon Daisyshriek followed suit. Meadowkit was alone. He took a breath, feeling slightly relived.

He glanced around the den. The walls seemed suffocating, but he knew he'd disturb his mother if he tried to escape. He was trapped. He'd have to suffer.

"She can be so annoying," Meadowkit started ranting to himself quietly, "She doesn't understand the importance of equality!"

"You've noticed?" Meadowkit jumped when he heard a question directed at him. He turned and saw Blossomkit staring at him with her piercing green eyes.

"You're awake!" Meadowkit meowed, surprised.

"Yes, I am." Blossomkit replied simply, flicking her stub of a tail, "I also think you should try and get along with Mother."

"But it seems like she hates Bisonkit!" Meadowkit shook his head, "I can't deal with that."

"She does, and there is nothing you can do. What you can do is let her be your mother." Blossomkit said wisely.

"Nope, never ever ever!" Meadowkit turned his head defiantly.

"Please?" Blossom kit begged.

"Nope." Meadowkit repeated.

Blossomkit rose and padded over, "Please, please, please, please, please!" She poked him repeatedly with her paw.

"Alright, I'll try!" Meadowkit pushed her away, "Just cut it out!"

"Thank you." Blossomkit trotted back to her nest and curled up, "Goodnight." Blossomkit yawned.

"Goodnight." Meadowkit meowed.

Blossomkit's chest soon rose and fell slowly. Meadowkit relaxed, and felt himself falling into sleep, but not before he saw a blur of blue from the entrance of the nursery speed by. He waved it off, assuming he was just tired, and went into a deep, dreamless sleep.

Why hello again! I enjoyed writing in Meadowkit's view again, and getting to know a bit about his relationship with his mother and sister. This chapter was kinda short and just a filler, but I don't think there's much else I can add to it. I did struggle for a while to expand the conversation.

I want to explain something really quick: Firekit, Icekit and Bisonkit are not siblings. Bisonkit has kind of been on her own ever since she no longer needed milk from a queen. (So there are more shipping opportunities)

Anyways, I hope you liked this chapter!
