Chapter 1.
Franklin West.
Franklin West. One of the bravest and greatest leaders of Neola Island to ever live walked towards the podium that was outside on the balcony. West had only just been elected Prime Minister of Neola Island, and now, he was already facing his first real challenge as the chosen leader of his home island. Earlier that morning, he had learned that a medical facility had been destroyed in an explosion, and from what he was told, it was a freak accident. Unfortunately, however, thousands of people who had worked there had perished in the accident. Neola Island wasn't just known for its beautiful mountains and tourist attractions, it was known for its development of medical needs, which included; vaccines, and the latest in new medications, life saving medications. And now, the island lost one of their medical facilities, an investigation was already going under way while the new Neola Island Prime Minister walked outside onto the balcony. The young looking anthropomorphic black-colored jaguar stood up behind the podium, ready to give his speech to the people of Neola Island. Surrounding him were two different people on each side of him, his bodyguards. In the recent months after his election, various different people had tried to assassinate him, including his older brother, of which West had found out that he was working for the Regency, a network of terrorists that wanted nothing more than to see an evil Ancient in power. Franklin West had learned of this evil Ancient, that this Ancient was none other than Lyric the Last Ancient. Having been a Senator for his home island before his election, West had heard the stories of an amazing young group of heroes, who called themselves Team Sonic, he had wanted to meet them and at least invite them to a banquet dinner with him and the other government officials of Neola Island, and what from what he had learned about Team Sonic, was that they were the ones that had defeated Lyric. But he also learned that now various government entities from different islands, except for the team's home island, Bygone Island, and Acadia Island, wanted them dead. But West swore to himself that as long as he was Prime Minister of Neola Island, Team Sonic would have a safe refuge on this very island, if it ever came to that. But now was not the time to focus on that, he was also told very grim news, that supposedly, a virus had broke out from the medical facility that had exploded in the middle of the night, and if the news was true, this virus was very life threatening, and that Neola Island was going to have to quarantine and shut down the whole island, and that was not good news for West. The jaguar knew that Neola Island depended on outsiders coming to the island and having a lovely time taking vacations from their homes back on the other islands, and if the island had to quarantine and shut down, their economy was to fall under dramatically in a few days. West said a short prayer to whatever force was out there, then he spoke into the microphone and got the people's attention.
I know, I know, this chapter is too short, but the next chapter is gonna focus on Team Sonic and their friends back on Bygone Island, unaware of what is about to happen. On the plus side, you'll get to see Fara, her husband, Chad, her brother, Cody, and Esmer. By the way, Neola Island and Franklin West are totally out of my imagination, all other characters belong to SEGA.
