[DISCLAIMER: This is purely fantasy and not the real Hololive actresses who play these characters.

Thanks for reading. I'll probably update the next chapter soon after this one, because I split it up. We have some OkaKoro, PekoMiko, and their Mechas.

I know this isn't very popular but I like writing this story. I'm not very good at Mecha and mechanical stuff, so sorry it's a bit sub-par. Thanks for the faves, follows and reviews.]

Chapter Fourteen

In the darkness the other two Mecha sat in the cavern of the Usada facility under Joseph's Village.

Pekora didn't want to get out from the protection as a few large Primals gathered near the machines.

"We just need to shoot the doors open, right?" Botan stated over the headphones.

"Those doors are…" Pekora was cut off by the two quick shots of the railgun on the Botanx-2. Her voice trailing… "expensive."

Over the comms they could hear Botan laughing, "oh wow, these have awesome firepower!"

After shooting through, Botan then maneuvered her Mecha, claws out front, into the doors, pulling them apart, her claws ripping the metal outward, making a large enough hole for the Mechas to leave.

Pekora sat in the Mecha holding to her head, listening to Botan laugh and praise the Mecha's abilities.

Miko placed a hand on her shoulder. "Love the new Mecha's Peko-cha."

"Be quiet please - Peko."

Miko couldn't stop laughing, as Pekora followed the Botanx-2 out of the lower channel and up the back way out of the underground facility.

Over the speaker, "Chairman, we're headed down to the town. Please find Korone and Okayu and get to the center. We'll be there as soon as we can."

"Understood Botanx-2 – over."

Miko was laughing again. "Why don't you just call her Botan?"

"I'm being professional – Peko. And she still calls me Chairman."

Miko continued laughing. She could see through the screens all around the MikoBusterDam. "The visuals are great. You really went all out."

And then Pekora went into detail on the graphics, and size, speaking in a detailed techno-language Miko tuned out.

As the Mecha made its way toward the shrine, very few creatures were nearby.

"Where are all the monsters?" Miko asked.

"I'm guessing either down in the main city, or at the center ready for the main boss."

"What will happen to the villagers?"

Pekora didn't answer immediately. "Let's hope the serum works and they change back."

"What about those really big things?"

"Primals? They're probably gathered where we're headed."

"How many do you think there are?"

"You tell me - Peko."

Once the Mecha stopped, the woods were covered with giant Primals, under-fangs sharp and pointed upward over their lips. Snouts were pug-like, making them look like hairy boar-type faces.

"Oh no," Miko breathed, "it's already been opened, hasn't it?"

"I think we have so much more to worry about than the villagers right now."

"They're supposed to be in the Demon Realm and guarded."

"Looks like they found the back door - Peko."

The creatures watched the Mecha closely, some approaching. All stood anywhere from 20 to 40 feet tall. One grabbed at the leg of the Mecha, chomping down on the metal.

The Mecha, faltered slightly, and then Peko made it kick outward, the Primal flying off. The maneuver caused more to pay attention and start attacking.

"They're swarming us, Pekora!"

Pekora looked over the controls, moving all limbs, and then pushed a button to bring down the staff. It swung at air.

"My goodness, Pekora, do you know how to handle a staff?"

"Yes- Peko!"

"Let me do it!"

"You said you didn't want to work your MikoBusterDam!"

"I want to now - because you're really bad at this!"

"I don't want your critique right now, Mikochi!"

"Well then don't suck!"

The Mecha moved forward jaggedly, and then backward, feeling like it was about to tip over.

"Urgh, you were always like this!"

"Was like what - Peko?!"

"Proud and stubborn!"

The Primals were pounding on the Mecha, making it hard for them to walk. They were ripping at the metal on the right leg, and it began to falter.

"Pekora, let me take control!"

Pekora looked out at all the Primals beating on her beautiful Mecha. "Fine." She pushed buttons, and Miko's headpiece lit up, the controls running across her helmet. Within an instant, she closed her eyes, a quick prayer, and then took over.

The Mecha moved in the same foot movement and hand movements of her trained Tai chi-like smoothness. She then lifted the staff, the electrical current wrapping around its entirety, and she struck down, blowing away several large Primals, sending them backward and crashing into the trees.

Cracked limbs and trunks, trailed behind, as she went on the offensive at the other side, stabbing across two large Primals, and then twirled the staff like second nature, moving in one arc and then swinging to the left, clearing a path.

"Ooh, I'm getting the hang of this!"

"Let's go – Peko!"

"No good job?"

Pekora reluctantly stated, "Guess you did well."

Miko giggled, actually finding the Mecha enjoyable to drive. "Yeah, let's go."

She ran toward the center area. She needed to close the gate.

####################################################################

At the entrance, PekoDam was waiting.

Okayu's face came to view across the screen.

"Hey, you both made it," Okayu stated, "Where's Botan?"

"She went to the city below to try and help the residents and pick up a few others," Miko stated. "How are you two?"

"We're good," Okayu was smiling, always trying to stay upbeat.

Pekora came across the screen, it was split with her on one side of the view and Miko on the other.

Okayu giggled again, "You know how you two look, as two Mecha pilots?"

"Look who's talking – Peko." Pekora clicked on some buttons. "Okayu, why isn't Koro-chan's video on? Tell her to push the same button. I want to give her a few instructions for once we're down there. She'll run point."

"Sure."

Okayu finally glanced back, having been so absorbed with battle. In the seat behind her, Korone's head was slumped forward, blood everywhere, it leaning onto her clavicle.

"She's…" Okayu felt all the blood drain from her, until all she felt was cold… "not moving."

In an instant, Okayu was removing her equipment.

"Okayu, what are you doing - Peko? Don't do that!"

She continued ripping off the nozzles detaching her helmet, unplugging the monitor at her chest and side. She then turned, lifting to squeeze behind to the cab where Korone sat.

She grabbed onto her shoulder, shaking her.

"What's going on – Peko?"

"Okayu?!" Miko yelled.

Only their comms could be heard, as both were asking what was going on.

Okayu, finally made her way around to the back seat where Korone sat.

"Koro-san?" She wiped across her brow. She was covered in blood and sweat. "Koro-san, come on wake up."

As she shook Korone awake, she could still hear the other two yelling over the comm.

Korone's eyes fluttered open. "Oh… Okayu, I was tired."

"Yeah," Okayu smiled weakly, looking over her girlfriend, realizing she'd lost so much blood. "That's why you were so quiet," she whispered. "We might need to get you over to Pekora." She didn't know where to reach first, there was blood everywhere.

Korone always quietly listened to her talk, since Okayu loved to talk so freely. She thought she was merely listening to her go on and on. She didn't realize she had been unconscious the entire time.

Her hand shook, as she rubbed gently on her cheek, the blood trailing from her brow. Her eyes were so large and golden brown, as she smiled back. Korone was always the prettiest girl in their class. She would always take her breath away.

"Okayu… you look worried."

"No, I was just concerned." She forced a smile.

Korone weakly held onto Okayu's hand. "I just… need to rest." Her eyes closed.

Okayu leaned onto her, hugging her tightly. Her entire body shook, as she cried into Korone's shoulder.

Once she gathered her bearings, she hit the speaker near Korone. "Pekora, can you come over here?"

"That's a little inconvenient – Peko."

"Well please, can you come over here and stay with Koro-san?"

"What's going on?" Miko asked.

"I'm not sure. She's… I don't know. I don't know."

The area was blinking a dull red and blue lighting, as it flickered, the warning lights allowing the pilot to know they needed to get back in control of the PekoDam.

Without a pilot, the Mecha went down on a knee, starting to shut down.

Pekora could hear the panic in Okayu's voice, and she had hoped she wouldn't lose it right now. They had a lot to do.

"I'm sure she's just resting. Does she have a pulse?" Pekora asked.

"Yes. She's just so bloody and out of it. I mean… there's blood everywhere, and she's got this big gash."

Pekora sighed loudly, considering what was happening. First, Korone went berserker and chased the creatures without any consideration of the consequences by letting them inside her facility. Those things couldn't have done that much damage. She knew with her enhancement she would heal.

"Does it seem like she's sleeping – Peko?"

"I don't know." Okayu brushed across Korone's hair and felt at her forehead. "She's really warm."

"Her body will heal, Okayu. You need to continue with the mission."

"Continue?!"

"She's just resting." Pekora turned to Miko. "Okayu, I promise she'll be okay. She just probably took a lot of damage."

"Damage? She's not a piece of machinery, Pekora."

The Chairman began to repeat her usual tic of "peko, peko, peko," as she considered what to do.

"Do you need to go over there, Peko?" Miko asked from behind.

"We're so close. I am not able to go over there - Peko." Pekora spoke over to Okayu, "Listen, I am positive she will heal. She must have just been hurt a bit more than I expected. You still have to head to the center. As you can see, its crawling with Primals. Miko needs to close that gate. You need to shut off your emotions right now."

Okayu continued holding onto Korone's hand, growing angry at the thought of shutting off her emotions. How could Pekora ask that of her?

Korone spoke over the comm, so that Miko and Pekora could hear, "I'm good."

Okayu looked up, catching Korone's gaze. She squeezed the cat's hand tightly. "I'm going to be okay." And then over the comm, "Pekora, something is changing inside. I feel it." Korone considered her words. She didn't want Okayu to hear her say that her insides felt like they were being ripped apart and rearranged. "Pekora, I think… it's working as you had planned. I'm good." She was slightly afraid of what she was becoming.

Again, Korone looked into Okayu's eyes. She smiled, "I'm fine. I was just sleeping so that my body could heal."

Okayu wouldn't look away, staring down her girlfriend. Korone could never lie to her, and Korone was a really bad liar. But she was telling the truth.

"Sure." Okayu pecked Korone on the cheek quickly, "let's do this." Before returning to her seat, she gazed into the Doggo's eyes. "Yeah, let's end this nightmare."
