[DISCLAIMER: Only using Hololive characters in this crazy story.

We'll get to see a familiar face again, find out what's been going on down below, and then have a bit of Botanx-2 and Botan being badass, plus some cool Fubuki and others. I wrote this chapter quickly, so I hope it came out okay.]

Chapter Fifteen

The giant Botanx-2 prowled down the mountain, looking over the surroundings. It moved like a giant cat on all fours.

Botan viewed through her gun sights, and then looked over the screens, signatures heating up with any Primal or creature presence.

"Shishiron, what's that?"

Botan glanced back, and then her screen lit up to the right by the beach.

"Isn't that one of the police vehicles?"

"That's Noel and Flare's truck."

"It's covered with those creatures."

"They're everywhere."

Botan looked closely through her sight, and without much thought she shot. She shot across the bow of the truck, so that the bullet whizzed past and into the ocean.

"That should pull their attention away."

The creatures, crawling across the police vehicle, covering over it like a swarm of bees, perked up at the sound and heat. Botan watched them through the sniper's sight, and then fired again. "Let's see how they react to this."

This time it hit to the left, taking down a tree on the beach, and with enough force the truck flipped forward, rolling once, and then landing on its side.

"Oops, that might have hit harder than I wanted."

However, the creatures dispersed, it drew all their attention away from the two inside.

"I think we need to get over there," Botan retracted the railgun, "that impact got their attention."

"Shishiron, should we shoot the crystals over that area also?"

"Yeah, let's see how it works."

Lamy spied the group of creatures, smaller than Primals, some lying on the ground, probably shot by the police officers in the vehicle, and then she hit the button that would release the first shot of the crystalline substance.

Wires were hooked into the Snow Elf, so that her own healing ability would pass into whatever was shot.

A thick bulbous structure shot out from her cannon and then a rubbery dark balloon flew past and popped just above the area.

It was like a firework display splayed over the area with a whump sound.

POP!

Whatever the substance was, it didn't quite show, other than a crystalized dust that made the sky light up in a prism of faint pink and blue.

"Ooh, that actually looks really pretty," Lamy spoke, slightly awed, "I hope it works."

"Yeah, me too."

Botan was concerned over the two deputies in the overturned truck. The Mecha lifted, hitting the ground hard, as it rushed to the overturned vehicle.

With her claws, she swiped at the creatures, pushing them away from the truck.

"I need to go out and check on them."

"Now?"

Both had full view of the creatures surrounding, and they still hadn't stopped moving.

"Can we wait until they leave, or maybe change back, or whatever is supposed to happen…?"

"Those two could be hurt in there, hon." Botan knew her wife was concerned. "Let me see if I can reach them." She tried calling across the comm's that they would have. "Danchou? Flare? Can either of you hear me? I'm in the giant Mecha outside the truck."

Nothing.

"Danchou? Over?"

Lamy glanced across the area, noting the creatures slowing, and falling to the ground.

"Oh good, I think it might be working."

"Flare? Over?"

Suddenly, the truck door burst open, a hand reaching up and then another. Soon, a Fire Elf popped out from inside.

Botan and Lamy let go a light cheer.

"I'm going to head out and help." Botan began to unhook the nozzles at her side, and lift off her helmet. "Stay in here, kay hon?"

"But what if they need me to heal?"

"I'll let you know. I just want to make sure it's clear first."

Lamy nodded, realizing it would be best.

Botan hit the button, and the door at the side of the Botanx-2 lowered.

The white lioness climbed out onto the lift, about to lower and she waved.

"Sheriff!" Flare yelled over, "Can you help me with Noel?"

"Of course."

Flare watched; thankful Sheriff Botan arrived when she did. She thought for sure the two of them were goners. However, the truck was flipped, and Noel ended up pinned by the crushed dashboard.

Once Botan was down on the side of the truck she looked inside. "Hey Deputy," she yelled, lightening the mood, "You resting on the job?"

"Hardy-har, I'm stuck."

Danchou was at the driver's side, her head bleeding from the glass, but smiling and happy to know they weren't going to die in the truck, or be eaten by those creatures.

The Botanx-2 sat on the beach; the interior much roomier than the other two Mecha's Pekora had built. There was an area at the back that looked similar to the back of a plane's cargo hold in a C-17, except slightly smaller, with seating on both sides for up to 8 people.

Noel was laid across the seating, as Lamy worked on healing her.

Flare followed Botan to the front of the Botanx-2.

"What happened here?" Botan asked.

"It was pretty crazy. We need to head to the communications building because the Mayor and a few others are over there."

Botan looked out from the front of the Botanx-2. "Those creatures are just lying there. Chairman Usada had given us a serum to spray over them and heal. Let's hope it works."

"Are those Primals? I've never seen one."

"No. Those are some failed experimentations."

"Ah. You know how crazy this all seems?"

"I've spent two days with crazy. I pretty much expect anything to happen right now. Listen, I'm going to head to the communications building. You want to stay up here and watch how this thing works or go back with Noel and Lamy."

"I'm all for being prepared, so I'll watch."

Botan over the speaker asked them to buckle up in the back, and they were going to head to get the others.

Flare placed a hand on her Sheriff's shoulder. "Thanks for coming when you did."

Botan laughed, "I always seem to have great timing." She placed her helmet on, and got everything ready to drive the Mecha once again.

Down at the center, Moona laid in the cage, watching the others. They were speaking in a strange language. After a while, she was starting to figure out what they were saying. It seemed something happened, and it made them send a bunch of Primals above, and then she wasn't quite sure what else they were saying, but there were more dressed in para-military gear and being instructed by Suisei.

She continued to hold her side, having pulled off her shirt and using it to wrap around her wound. Fortunately, the vajras hadn't hit anything vital.

Moona hoped someone was coming to stop what they were about to do. She had faith Pekora would have a plan to stop that creature.

Suisei walked up to the cage, as Moona watched, lying askew against the bars.

"You don't look so good, Dr. Hoshinova. Do you want us to put you out of your misery?"

"I'm going to enjoy… the view of you losing." Moona then coughed.

"I hope you live to see that not come true." Suisei, her continual smirk across her lips then added, "oh by the way, the one we've been waiting for is on her way. She has no idea she is doing exactly as I wanted."

"Peko… ra?"

"Of course. Your blood mixed with hers has always been the plan." She laughed, "do you get it now?"

Moona's eye widened when she realized. The tales that had been told about the Moon Goddess and the Rabbit. There was always a reason for the tales.

"She is coming to us, that foolish bunny."

She then turned and kept laughing.

The Botanx-2 lumbered up to the side of the communications building.

Lamy had joined to shoot more crystalline substances outward wherever they passed. Noel was healing in the back and watched by Flare.

Once the Mecha stopped, Botan directed that she would go inside, and for them to all stay back. Lamy would take over if needed. Once she knew it was safe, she'd come out and help get Noel inside, since she was still recovering. Staying in a building would be safer than where they were headed.

She kissed her wife quickly, as she then lowered the door, and hopped down, rifle in hand.

Slowly, she walked up to the building's doors, and unlocked them to enter.

It was relatively dark inside, as she slowly walked down the hall.

She then heard voices, and slowly pushed the door open to enter. She was met with a bat to the head, but ducked quickly.

"Whoa, wait it's me!"

Rushia met the door with the bat and then lowered.

"Why didn't you guys call us?"

"Hey, sorry but the communications were down. Noel and Flare couldn't reach you all either. They think they might have been out of range, and I'm sorry I didn't call first. I didn't expect you'd try and brain me the moment I entered."

"You realize there are bunch of zombie things out there."

"Yeah sorry."

Mayor Fubuki walked up, "Hello Sheriff."

Mio and then Marine followed.

"You all okay?" Botan asked.

"Sheriff, we're good," Fubuki stated, "Your deputies are out there."

"They're with us. Me and Lamy picked them up."

"The place is crawling with those things," Marine said, "how'd you make it in here?"

"It's a long story. Right now, I'm going to call Flare to bring Noel to stay with you in here. It's probably safer than being out there.

"Is she okay?" Fubuki asked.

"Just a little injured. She needs to rest."

"How does the city look?" Mio asked, "did you see any of the people out there?"

"We've been spreading this substance to help those who were infected. It should be working, but I'm not positive how long."

A crackling sound came over the comm-link on Botan's shoulder. "Shishiron!"

"Yeah, Lamy, what is it?"

"Shishiron, I think the substance is working. There seems to be movement, and it doesn't seem to be those creatures."

"Good news."

"It's at the back of the building."

"Lamy, what do you mean?"

"Shishiron?" and then it crackled, and nothing.

"Lamy?"

Botan hit the comm-link. "Lamy, can you hear me?"

No sound.

"Lamy?"

Rushia and the others all glanced to one another.

"There's a door at the back. But…" Fubuki ran to the back, followed by Botan.

An explosive hit, knocking the Mayor into Botan, her dropping her rifle.

The others ran toward the sound, wondering what happened.

Through the smoke, three men dressed in para-military black gear walked inside. They looked like a special SWAT squad, with rifles pointed in front.

Botan, grabbed at the Mayor, pulling her to the side, as the smoke gave them a brief bit of cover.

She could see her rifle, across from them.

She looked back and could see Marine first, and the other two. She yelled, "RUN! Get out of here!"

Rushia noticed first, and grabbed onto Marine, and then Mio, pulling them to the front.

Once the squad in black saw, they rushed forward, and Botan leapt up, grabbing the first one, whipping him around with a quick maneuver at his neck, pulling him downward, pulling down his rifle, and shooting at the other to his side. Taking him out.

The one she grabbed backed up, hitting her against the wall. She did a quick kick into his knee, causing him to lower and then maneuvered out from him.

The other one was about to shoot, so she quickly grabbed the one against the wall, rotating him for cover.

Two down.

She then hoisted his body toward the other guy, ramming into the one who shot.

He pushed the body aside, and Botan went under, lifting him up and then slamming him down to the ground.

This one moved his legs in a scissor move, and then back to ax kick down on the lioness, so that she fell hard into the flooring.

He then pulled out his knife, and she blocked as he came down over her. He moved the knife to the side and then went down hard into her shoulder, pushing with everything into her, jamming it down hard to dislocate the bone. His elbow being jammed onto her neck, holding her down underneath. She was slapping at him with her good arm, as he quickly grabbed his sidearm, ready to shoot her in the face.

Two quick shots fired.

Botan's heart stopped beating for a second.

The guy slumped over on top of her.

Mayor Fubuki had grabbed one of the rifles from the ground and shot.

She stood there with the rifle, shaking, as she looked over the bodies on the ground.

Botan shoved the guy off of her, and then made her way to her knees, and then standing. She walked up to Fubuki, slowly grabbing the rifle with her good arm.

"You okay, Mayor?"

Fubuki nodded slowly.

"Thanks. Come on, let's get out of here. There might be more."

They ran to the exit, to head to the Mecha.

Outside were two black SUV's, and Botan and Fubuki ducked back inside the building. She tried her comm-link again, "Lamy, please, can you hear me?"

She had no idea what was happening. That, and her left arm was completely useless.

They then heard another explosion coming from outside.

"What do we do Sheriff?"

"Please call me Botan."

"Okay, just call me Fubuki then."

"I'm going blind here, and so I don't know. We need to go to the back, where those guys entered."

"You're sure?"

"That's all I got right now."

They walked past the three dead bodies. "I hate to say this, but can you grab one of those rifles, May... I mean, Fubuki?"

"Yes." She picked up a rifle. "I've shot guns, but don't usually shoot people."

"Sorry - most don't."

Once they went outside, Botan was in front, looking over the area. She held the rifle close, not the optimal way to use, but she could handle a weapon in just about any situation.

Another explosion hit, and this time they ducked.

"What's going on?" Botan spoke mostly to herself.

Suddenly the Botanx-2 appeared, landing on the side of the mountain so hard, the two fell to the ground.

The side door opened.

"Stay behind me, Fubuki."

Lamy appeared in the door.

"Shishiron?"

"Lamy…" she stepped forward, still wary.

"Oh my gosh, you're hurt."

The door lowered, and Lamy leapt down to run to Botan.

"What's going on?" she asked as Lamy crushed her in a hug.

"Flare figured out how to use the Mecha and took out those guys in the front. She said they were using some sort of jamming device and I couldn't reach you."

Fubuki walked to the Mecha, as she spied Mio waving her over.

Lamy kept holding to Botan, kissing her. "You're alive."

"Yeah."

"Flare said they were probably here to get the Mayor or something."

"We better head out then. Before any others come."

"Yeah."

Botan stopped for a second to take in Lamy's features. She smiled. "You're really something, you know that?"

"It's why you married me, right?' Lamy giggled.

"That… and other things."

The two laughed, as they headed back to the Botanx-2.

Lamy wrapped her arm around Botan, since she wasn't able to move well, and they walked back to the Mecha to climb inside. Fubuki lowered to give them a hand up.
