"I- I'm sorry. You did what," Jason stuttered.

"I Controlled his blood. His blood - it isn't blood. It is a combination of all of those dark rivers. I had controlled the Lethe before and when I was there with Annabeth -" he faltered recounting the events with Misery. "When I was there with Annabeth, I took control of a goddess's blood, Misery." Percy looked up at Jason expecting him to run away, screaming he was a monster or - or anything. He had never told anyone what had happened there and he didn't want it to spread.

Jason just gave a nod that said It's fine, keep going. So he did.

"She was going to kill us so I made her choke on her poison. I felt powerful Jase, I relished in it for some crazed reason." Percy stood up, ashamed of what he had done.

"So what happened to him?" Jason asked.

"I controlled his blood but on a whole other level. I controlled it from the inside and made him explode."

"You did what you had to do to survive. I agree it's not natural but you were angry."

"That's not what I'm concerned about Jase. It was that I liked it. I felt good with the level of power I had. But I was so mad, seeing him squirm in the air screaming, it brought evil pleasure. Because all I wanted was for him to be tortured like I was." Percy paused as he pressed the ball of his hands into his eyes. He ran his fingers through his hair as he looked up at Jason, his eyes were red and glistened with tears. "Have you heard how he killed her?"

"No," Jason said, his voice small.

"It was just Nico, she and I left standing. He shot a cloud of poison at Nico. When it cleared he was dead on the ground. Then he turned to us, evil greed on his face. He finally got to kill the two people who had caused the most trouble against him. He started shooting sharp rocks at us. They were black spears of death. Before long he got annoyed and shot a huge one that reeked poison. I jumped at Annabeth to move her out of the way but I missed." his voice broke off as he pickup up a glass sphere that was on the side table by the couches they were sitting on.

"If I could have just pushed her out of the way-"

"No, Perce. It is NOT your fault. Please don't blame yourself."

"It's still my fault. It's all my FAULT," he screamed, as he threw the glass sphere, shattering it against the wall. Then he went deadly silent. Jason could feel the air changing as the room seemed to darken. All of a sudden the door burst open and Percy shot a blast of dark energy at the intruder. Poseiden held out his hand creating a shield of water, blocking the deadly blast. When Percy saw who it was he started to sob. He had finally broken down. Seconds later, Hestia burst through the door and practically swept Percy away. She held him under one arm then flashed off to who knows where.

Jason looked at the one god who was still in his presence. Poseidon looked him in the eye as he asked, "What happened?"

"He was telling me what happened at the end of the war. He started to blame himself for Annabeth, I told him otherwise, then he went off."

Poseidon said nothing as he walked up to Jason. He placed his hand on the demi-god's shoulder and flashed them away. When the strange pair arrived, Jason could barely see anything. When he looked to his right, he saw that his uncle had flashed away already. He was in a dark place with barely any light. The light that was provided was dark and had a red tint to it. As he looked around all he saw was Stygian Iron walls. He turned to a door frame as he saw a new light source. A grey light radiated from a figure standing in the door frame.

"Jason," a woman's voice asked.

"Piper?"

Percy POV

Percy awoke in a place he had never seen before. The room he was in was comforting yet regal. The white marble walls were not harsh like the ones in his palace. They were soft and homey. The bed he was laying in was the most comforting bed he had ever been in. He heard a voice coming from the door frame as an eight-year-old girl appeared. She had brown hair and soft brown eyes.

"Percy, how are you," she said.

"Who- Hestia," he said, finally recognizing his favorite goddess. A feeling of relief washed over him. He was safe now. His whole demeanor changed. He slumped back into the bed instead of the rigid position he was sitting in. His face relaxed and his hand moved away from his pocket.

"I've been better," he said. "What happened?"

"Your father was talking to me about a specific idea at a beach in New York. We were watching the tide as I thought over a few things when we noticed the tide getting more and more intense. At one point Poseidon even had trouble taming it. Then we felt a dark energy radiate from above. We immediately knew something was wrong and that you were very mad. We flashed to your palace and saw Jason standing there and shattered glass on the floor. Then I flashed you here and put you to sleep. Your eyes were raging with power and you would barely sit down. I called in some help from Apollo and he took care of you."

Percy looked down in shame. The one thing he never let himself do is to lose it. Inflate, yes, but blow up, no he could never do that again. He held too much power. If he had hurt anybody that would have been his fault. But he could wait to think about how he was going to prevent this from happening again in the future. He needed to see only one person.

"Where's my daughter," he asked.

"I will go get her if you would like, she is just downstairs," Hestia offered. Percy nodded and she rushed out of the room. Percy took this as an opportunity to try and make himself look semi-composed. As he stood out of his bed and brushed the hair out of his face a small child appeared in the door frame. Percy fell onto his knees to be level with his daughter. She ran and embraced him and he hugged her back just as tightly. They sat there for a minute before Percy stood up.

"Honey," he said, addressing his daughter. "Could you please go back to the house and wait for me there. Pack up your things please you and I are going to go on a trip. I will be there in a second but first I need to talk with Hestia, ok?"

Polly gave a small nod then headed out the door, to head to the house.

"You think it is wise to have her wonder by herself," Hestia said, sounding concerned for the young god.

"She'll be fine. She has so much of her mother in her and everyone here loves her too much to let anything happen." Then he turned to Hestia, "and I think they are a bit scared of me." Hestia gave him a small look that said? Percy just scoffed and rolled his eyes and turned away from the goddess.

"So what did my dad ask you about?"

"Whether or not I would join the cause. Anyway, I told him I would think it overseeing as I am -"

"Opposed to violence, I know," Percy finished. Percy sat there feeling defeated for a moment until- "What if you joined our site but was more of a … I don't know. Like you could be someone who prepares the base for visitors or cooks food for the soldiers or other people. You could be the voice of reason. Please, Hestia, we need you." Percy had fully turned to face the now stunned goddess. She had heard people say that she was great and stuff but never straight to her face. She knew her purpose and stuck to it, she didn't do much else. She didn't want recognition but Percy was one of the first people to ever talk to her regularly, Nico too. If she could repay him for everything he had done for Olympus this was how also not to mention the jobs he had described fitted her to a tee. She smiled a little bit when she said, "Yes, Percy. I will join you."

Percy was elated, he had gotten Hestia. Most people wouldn't see this as a big deal because she didn't pose much of a threat on the battlefield seeing as she was a peaceful goddess, but to Percy, this was the biggest accomplishment. Having Hestia meant hope and a voice of reason.

"Thank you, Hestia," he said. "Could you come with me and then would you like to go to headquarters to meet the others?"

"Yes, I would enjoy that very much."

With that, the two gods headed off in the direction of the Jackson house. Percy could not wait to tell the rest of the team who he had convinced.
