Thanks to those of you who left a review. Your comments really do motivate me to write more. I really enjoyed coming back to this story, and so far so good in terms of ideas. I'm pleased you enjoyed the last chapter. Poor Callie!
How will she cope with meeting the Robbins?
After ten minutes of Arizona reassuring Callie that everything would be OK and how much her parents would love her, the American finally agreed to leave the room, partly out of hunger.
As Callie followed Arizona downstairs she felt a wave of sickness hit her again. She had never even kissed a girl until a month ago and now she had been caught naked in the shower...by Arizona's mom.
"Arizona...I don't think I c..." Callie didn't have a chance to finish her sentence when she felt the blonde place a gentle kiss on her lips.
"You can. We can." Arizona said smiling warmly at her nervous looking girlfriend "I promise you my mum is way more mortified than you and me put together. She feels awful. Let's just go in, make a joke about it and forget all about it." Arizona said as she tried to reassure the American.
"If only!" Callie scoffed back. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She had scored a penalty in the World Cup final...she could do this!
"Ready?" Arizona whispered
"No...but let's do it" Callie replied.
"Mum. Dad" Arizona said as they walked into the kitchen "this is Callie" Arizona said smiling as she gripped Her girlfriends hand tightly.
Callie took another deep breath and smiled as she tried her best to ignore the burning sensation on her cheeks and neck as she came face to face with Mr and Mrs Robbins.
"Callie dear" Arizona's mum smiled "I hardly recognise you with your clothes on!" The older blonde said with a wink as she pulled the shocked American in for a hug.
"MOTHER!" Arizona screamed in embarrassment as she looked over with worry at Callie who didn't have a chance to react before she was wrapped in the older blondes embrace.
"I'm sorry" Jan whispered quietly to Callie whilst squeezing the American tighter. Callie was actually relieved that she hadn't tried to act like nothing had happened and started to giggle.
Arizona looked over at her girlfriend in surprise at her reaction.
"I mean it's certainly not how I imagined meeting you" Callie said as she was finally released by Jan Robbins "but it's really nice to meet you." She smiled as she held her hand out to shake Mr Robbins hand.
David shook his head "I think we're past handshakes" he smiled as he gave Callie a hug.
Arizona exchanged a small smile with her mum relieved that they seemed to have navigated the awkward situation in one piece.
As Callie walked back over to join Arizona she felt a shooting pain from her ankle "damn" she said under her breath in reaction to the pain.
Before Arizona could react the older Dr Robbins had slipped her arm around the American's waist and was helping her over to the chair before bending down to look at Callie's ankle.
"Do you have any Naproxen?" Jan asked her daughter as she gently examined Callie's swollen ankle.
"Not with me." Arizona replied kicking herself that she hadn't thought about bringing the anti inflammatory medication with her.
"It's OK...I'm pretty sure I've got some at home. I'll pop them round. Until then..." Dr Robbins stood up and turned to talk to Callie "I'm afraid it's an Ice pack and rest for you Callie."
"Thanks umm Dr Robbins" Callie responded
"Please..." the older blonde said "its's Jan and David OK?" She said smiling and Callie saw the dimples for the first time.
"Sure." Callie smiled at the older blonde
"Great. Well we'll get out of your way now, but we love to have you over for dinner tonight if you don't already have plans?" Jan asked as she looked over at her daughter.
Arizona hesitated and looked over at Callie for a reaction to the invitation. Before the blonde could respond Callie answered.
"Dinner sounds great" the brunette said happily.
David knew his daughter well and could see she had some reservations "well you don't have to decide now, see how the ankle feels in a few hours and give us a ring. We were just planning on getting a take away, so it's no biggie" Arizona's dad said as he gave his daughter a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks dad." The physio replied "I'll umm see you out." The blonde said as she headed to the door.
Jan pulled on her coat and turned to Callie who was still sitting resting her ankle.
"It really is lovely to meet you Callie" she said smiling at the American.
"And you" Callie responded "I can see where Arizona gets it from now"

After a breakfast of eggs and bacon Arizona had helped Callie over to the sofa and set her up in front of the TV. Arizona needed to go to the shops and said she would pick up the tablets from her parents.
"Are you sure you're Ok?" Arizona asked
"I'm fine Arizona. Go!" Callie smiled back "the sooner you go, the sooner you'll be back to me."
"OK. Call me if you need anything" the blonde said as she lent in and place a kiss on the brunette's lips.
Once alone Callie started flicking through the channels trying to find something to watch. She settled on an episode of Below Deck and was relaxing when the TV went black.
"Crap" Callie said as she shuffled off the sofa. She checked the lamps and they seemed to work fine so it wasn't the power, must be a fuse.
Callie hobbled into the kitchen and opened the cupboards to try and find a tool kit. She found the key for the back door and headed out to the shed in the courtyard.
Inside she found a bike, some exercise weights and various boxes labelled up. She couldn't help but see the one that had Alex written on the side in Arizona's handwriting. Curiosity got the better of the American as she pulled the box off the shelf and peaked inside.
There was a University of Malmö hoodie and some books which she assumed belonged to Arizona's ex-wife. There was also a photo album and against her better judgement Callie flicked open the book and looked at the first page. There were five photos of Arizona and Alex and various friends taken at Pride in Stockholm. Arizona was wearing a white vest top and cut off jean shorts and her hair was cut much shorter. In one group shot Alex was standing behind Arizona and had one arm wrapped around the blonde's waist, and her other hand was cupping one of the physio's breast. Arizona's head was tilted back and the Swede was kissing the Brit. In another picture Arizona was sitting on the shoulders of Alex holding up a rainbow flag.
Callie slammed the book shut realising she shouldn't be snooping and carefully replaced the box on the shelf and continued looking for a tool box.
She eventually spotted it on the floor behind the bike and successfully managed to change the fuse to get the TV working again.
Callie sat back down on the sofa and pressed play on the remote, but her thoughts were very much on the contents of that box in the shed. Alex and Arizona looked so happy in the pictures that she started doubting herself. How could she make Arizona that happy? Why would Arizona want to be with her when she was so inexperienced with women. Fuck!
Callie picked up her phone and sent Jess a text.
Woody. I need your help. I'm having a crisis of confidence re A. Think I'm over my head. C x
Callie's phone buzzed back quickly as Jess called her friend back.
"What's happened Torres?" Jess asked down the camera "great victory yesterday by the way!" Her friend said referring to the game.
"Thanks. Yeah it felt good to beat you know who!" Callie admitted "although I'm suffering now.." Callie said as she turned the camera round to show the swollen ankle.
"Ouch" Jess replied "where are you? That doesn't look like your place?" Jess asked as she saw the cute cottage.
Callie explained where she was and what had happened with the shower and Arizona's mum.
"Only you Torres!" Jess had replied as she tried to stop the laughter.
"I know right!" Callie said down the phone "I just feel so...inexperienced with it all..."
"How so?" Jess asked
"I just don't understand why she's interested in me?" Callie confessed to her friend about the box in the shed.
"Do you think she still has feelings for her ex?" Jess asked
"No. No I honestly don't" Callie answered "I think I'm just freaking out about how we're in very different places. I mean Arizona is super comfortable with her sexuality, and so she should be, but..."
"But you're not!" Just finished her friends sentence.
"Not remotely" Callie admitted.
"But do you want to be?" Jess asked "I mean do you think it's something you think you want long term?"
Callie thought about the question. Did she? Did she want to be a lesbian? Bi sexual? Queer? Shit she didn't know the answer to that question.
"I think I want to be with Arizona..." Callie admitted "but I'm not sure I can deal with everything that comes with it. I mean the thought of telling my mum and dad literally makes me feel sick." Callie admitted
"Have you talked to Arizona about how you are feeling?"
"No. I afraid that if I say something she will run!" Callie responded
"Well there's only one way to find out Torres." Jess said.
"God I hate it when you are right!" Callie joked to her friend.
"We'll surely you must be used to it by now!" Jess smiled down the camera. "It'll be OK Torres" she added
"I hope so. I feel completely out of my depth."
"Stop worrying and over analysing things. Just talk to her and tell her what you are feeling before you do something stupid."
"Thanks Jess" Callie said smiling at her friend "so enough about my shit, what's going on with you? Do you know what you're doing for Christmas?"
Callie and Jess talked for another 20 minutes before Jess said she had to go and get ready as she was meeting one of her team mates for a walk. Callie had tried to find out more about this friend, but Jess had remained tight lipped.
The brunette hoped that her friend was seeing someone as she wanted her to be happy.

Arizona walked back into the house with some bags of shopping and the tablets which she insisted Callie take immediately.
"So how you feeling about dinner tonight? We really don't have to go if you can't face it." Arizona said as she handed Callie the tablets and some water.
"Are you kidding. I can't wait to go. I want to see the cute baby photos!" Callie smiled at Arizona who had a worried look on her face.
"Honestly. I'm looking forward to it." Callie said as she grabbed the blonde's hand and pulled her down onto the sofa next to her "now how about a kiss. I missed you!" Callie said
"Oh you did did you?" Arizona smiled back as she snuggled into the American on the sofa.
"I did" Callie replied as she placed small kisses on the physio's cheeks, nose, forehead "do you want me to show you how much?" She raised an eyebrow in the blonde's direction and she carefully climbed on top of the her girlfriend and started to kiss her before suddenly stopping and looking down into confused blue eyes.
"You locked the door right?" Callie asked making Arizona chuckle.
"Locked and bolted. No one is getting to disturb this time!" The blonde replied as she pulled the brunette's lips onto hers and moaned into the kiss.
I hope you liked the way Jan Robbin's handled the situation? Callie clearly has some insecurities that she needs to address.
If you leave me a review, tell me where you are reading this story. I'd love to know where you are based.
I'm based in London and we're still in a lockdown, although there is hope coming! I've been working from home for a whole year as of today. Crazy stuff!
Take care as ever. S x
