Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Sovereign of Souls Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Gunvolt, Inti Creates and a few others do.

Luca flew around the platform and blinked before continuing to strike at Elise. She dodged the blasts from his cannons which almost destroyed part of the platform.

Luca dodged one of her kunai as he flew towards the platform and brushed off his arms. He could only watch as Elise was pushed backwards from the gusts of his wings.

Elise growled at the winged warrior who was busy circling around for another attack. Lucas blinked as he leveled his canons at the platform.

"Why do you care if they live or die so badly?" Elise questioned as Lucas stopped to look at the platform.

"Because not every single person deserves death!" Lucas stated to her as she growled at him.

"The scientists who worked on us do!" Elise hissed as she tossed another kunai at them.

This could only make him more curious as to why she was so angry at them. Still? He couldn't give up at the moment, to let this girl escape? Then she'd end up hurting more innocent people.

Lucas slammed into Elise, sending them flying over the edge of the platform. He tumbled into another platform and aimed one of his arm canons at her.

Elise responded by wrapping her hair around his arm, making the bolt of plasma spiral into the support column.

The duo tumbled away before Lucas kicked Elise loose and spread his wings. Elise rolled away onto another platform as Lucas hummed and floated over the wreckage.

Elise cursed her earlier battle with Gunvolt. It made her weaker, vulnerable. Her reactions weren't as flawless as they were before. It was something she knew that Lucas was abusing to no end.

The ruthless part of her was flattered that he was willing to use such a weakness, even if he didn't know it.

"Give up!" Lucas said as he landed on another platform. "Your not going to win! I can fight just as well as you do." Lucas pointed out as he flapped his wings.

"Just means beating the crap out of you will THAT much more satisfying." Elise stated as she grinned at the angelic adept.

"Um hmm." Lucas said before stepping off the platform and opened his wings once more.

Elise continued to lash out with kunai. She was angered to hell and back that she was finally fighting someone who had the ability to evade her at a distance.

"Stay still!" Elise hissed which made Lucas roll his eyes.

"Surrender and I will." Lucas responded as he brushed off his armor. "Your not going to end up winning a fight with me before." Lucas pointed out as he continued to fire blast after blast from his arm canons and weapons on his wings.

Lucas could only hum and blink before he rolled his eyes under his armor. He wanted to deal with the fight as quick and painlessly as possible, but this was becoming annoying.

Lucas watched Elise fly to the side from one of his blasts. He sighed and cracked his fingers.

"Oy…" Lucas muttered with annoyance as he turned away from the fight for a minute.

Elise growled at the idea of someone equaling her in combat. Though the idea did make her very interested in the fight itself at the moment.

Lucas swooped down toward Elise who leapt to the side and slammed him to the ground with her hair.

Lucas groaned in pain before he deployed his wings. Elise was blown backwards by the force of the wind.

Lucas flew upwards higher into the list of platforms. He could see Elise only grow smaller as he ascended higher and higher.

"COWARD!" Elise stated to which Lucas hummed, he was amused. This was a good fight, but trying to get in closer?

That wasn't a good fight when it came to close range. He could only hope to win at a distance. It was something that he knew for the future.

Elise slowly started to ascend the platforms while he looked down at her. Lucas sighed and prepared for another wave of combat. He was already wondering if this was a mistake.

Still? He wasn't going to let the girl go and hurt someone else. This was a fight that he had to win anyway.

Still? He could only hope for the fact that he would hope that he would win.

"This is going to be a long day." Lucas stated and cracked his neck.

He could only wish to be winning. This would have to be won sooner or later anyway.

"Let's do this…" Lucas stated to himself while he fell downwards towards the girl.

Elise grinned and prepared for a fight with Lucas once more.

"Lets end this." Lucas stated as he cracked his neck and rubbed his hands, eager for a fight with her once more.

"Bring it." Elise stated and hummed with amusement.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will hopefully be longer. I want to flesh out Elise and Luca's characters soon. Next chapter will be in 2-10 weeks and will show the end of the fight and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
