Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Sovereign of Souls Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Gunvolt, Inti Creates and a few others do.
"There is quite a lot of data here." Lucas muttered to himself while he started typing.
Elise said nothing as she scowled at her fellow adept. She couldn't believe she had lost to someone who didn't want to fight. It annoyed her to no end.
Yet part of her was impressed, whoever this was? Elise bickered to herself if she should honor their deal or such.
"I'm guessing that you want to keep looking through this useless junk?" Elise questioned as Lucas turned over his shoulder to look at the Adept.
She looked far more pitiful then she might have thought she did. However? Lucas didn't want to provoke another fight between the duo. It wasn't easy and he still felt pain from the last fight that they had.
However? He did also feel some measure of care for the adept. She was alone in this facility when it came down to it. They were nothing more then thrown away trash when it came down to it.
"Yes." Lucas stated and continued typing at the console once more. "There's a lot more to see. We should know why they experimented on us, if theres any other adepts." Lucas added which caused him to hum and shake his head to the side.
He couldn't fathom fighting other adepts… But part of him also was furious that Elise had killed all the staff in this building. Their kind needed far more protection and care… Yet she slaughtered innocent people.
"Don't think this talk about the people is over." Lucas said while his armor crackled with energy. "They are not slaves. You will not rule over this entire planet… Nobody should." Lucas said as Elise hummed.
"You don't?" Elise questioned as she raised herself up on her hair towards him. "Being in charge, being carried on by dozens of servants along a path of your own choosing?" Elise purred in his ear which caused Lucas to seize up.
Elise withdrew, her words bickering in his ears and drilling in like a worm slowly cutting through his skin.
Elise withdrew to the lower platforms as Lucas finally managed to shake clear. He couldn't fathom these feelings toward Elise… Nor could he fathom why he was so willing to save her when it came down to it.
He knew very well that she was a monster and she had almost empathy. Either that or she hiding it which scared him more then he was currently feeling.
He couldn't think about that at the moment. Lucas returned to focusing on the computer at the moment, he had records to look through at the moment. Various papers that he needed to correct and make sure were good in his mind.
There were secrets here which he wanted to uncover. Elise wanted revenge plain and simple. He simply wanted nothing more then to figure all this out and get to the bottom of it. Then he could take down the people who wanted to hurt and abuse the adapts.
"That woman is going to be the death of me…" Lucas said while he closed his eyes and then turned. "If not the death to someone else or such." Lucas stated to himself as he cracked his knuckles.
He started to hum to himself and then tapped on the console once more while he leaned on it. Lucas couldn't think at the moment. He was quite tired and was such curious to the point of not being able to focus on anything.
"I'm going to have to find her soon and figure out what's going on." Lucas stated before he pushed away. He started to spread his wings and ran his fingers over his helmet.
"What is going on with me?" Lucas questioned as he wondered what was happening.
His brain was firing like a drum with him tiring of this petty argument in his skull. He was quite exhausted which was effecting his brain when this came down to it.
'Whoever this is working is wrong. It's cutting me up inside when it continues to dwell within my skull.' Lucas thought to himself while cracking his neck and flying down.
He didn't know what was happening mentally, but this scared him to a degree that he couldn't believe.
Then again? He couldn't believe much of anything at the moment. Lucas continued his flight down, eager to find Elise and figure out the case of this issue… And squash it before it caused a breakdown in his thoughts too badly.
Little did he know what this meant mentally. Lucas had no idea that he cared about the girl in a way he hadn't considered.
Lucas liked Elise, and he was just too dense to come to terms with that… Least at the moment.
He sighed and cracked his neck once more and then clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
