I remained outside for one more minute, keeping my eyes firmly locked on the window to Bella's room where she was lying on her bed, hair all messed up, wearing only this thin top and her loose pants. I had meant it when I said I would give everything for just one more minute with her.
Emotions were roaring inside me but this time, they were good.
I had taken the risk and I had won.
I couldn't get the huge grin off my face as I recalled the last thirty minutes. I had been so scared, fearing that she would push me away any moment but then, typical Bella, she had surprised me once more when she had kissed me back. Her fingers had been in my hair, her hands on my back, her body almost touching mine.
I could still taste her lips, feel them as they responded to my kiss with the same passion.
This time, I let the wolf out of my own free will. I needed to run, needed to let all this new energy come out. Thoughts came up in my mind, but I was too happy to care what the others said or what they saw. Luckily not many of the pack had phased right now but I knew that the news would travel fast, nonetheless. In this, the others were worse than old ladies sitting around all day gossiping about this and that.
Congrats man, you made it!
Screw that damn bloodsucker, she is way too good for him anyway
See, told you it would turn out well.
Finally, you've grown some balls. Luck is always with the brave ones!
I grinned a wolfish grin and made my way back to the reservation. The ground seemed to fly beneath my paws, and I ran as fast as I'd never had before. I felt like I was ready to battle the whole world if necessary.
I ran up to Sam's house, the unofficial headquarter of the pack, to see if there were any new sightings of the red-haired vampire. But Emily told me he wasn't home and when nobody else reported anything, I decided to go home and get some rest before my evening shift.
My dad was, as was his habit, sitting on the front porch, a blanket over his legs and scanning his surroundings. He smiled when he saw me emerging from the woods. "You didn't look so happy when you left this morning," he said. "Could it have something to do with a girl? I remember you telling me you would check on a certain girl."
He chuckled and I grinned. I had never been good at hiding anything from my father. Even when I was a little kid and had stolen from the cookie jar, he had known at once. Besides, why shouldn't I tell him? I wanted to share my feelings with the whole world right now.
"Yeah, as usual you are right old man."
"I am happy for you." Billy winked at me. "It's time you found someone to make you happy. But remember, claiming her is only the beginning. The hardest part is keeping her."
"Don't worry, I don't intend to let her go. Ever." I leaned back against the wooden wall of our small cabin and let my gaze run freely in the distance. Her face appeared in front of me, how beautiful she had been when she laid beneath me, her cheeks flushed and her chest moving up and down fast.
"You really are in it, aren't you, son?" Billy's voice sounded soft. "Like I was when I met your mother." A hint of sadness swung in his words, but he quickly shook his head and let the memories disappear. "Anyway, I am really happy for you. Just try to be the man she deserves, and I know it will go well." He grabbed the wheels of his wheelchair and rolled inside. I followed him. "I'll go and take a nap. Sam wants me on patrol duty this night," I informed my dad and he nodded.
I made my way to my room and threw myself on the bed, without bothering to remove my clothes. I never wore shoes, or a shirt anyways and why remove my shorts? Sooner or later, they would be torn anyways, so why bother?
Images of Bella filled my mind as I drifted into the black void of sleep.
Short update this time. The next update will be longer, promise!
