Sins of Blairwood-18
"Normal Speaking." *Speaking in Japanese*.
~Family Reunion: Pt2~
*Alright people alright. Nothing to see here. Go about your business.* Yori said, getting the crowd that had gathered to disperse.
"Interesting." Sam said.
"An' you're Emiko's husband, I assume?" Yori asked.
"How could you tell?" Sam inquired.
"Well, besides knowing my sister's married to a famous Author, you didn't instantly run away the moment you saw me. We may get some faces, and get stared at when walking about in public, but the locals here, don't tend to react as exaggerated as that of other countries." Yori exclaimed.
"Then I guess introductions aren't needed?" Sam asked bowing to Yori.
"Nah, you're good Sam." Yori smiled, bowing to him.
"Oh, you two must be Yori's little girls." Emiko said, going up to Mitsu and Momo.
"We sure are." Mitsu said. "I'm Mitsu."
"I'm Momo."
"An' we welcome you to Japan Auntie Emiko." They said in unison.
"Hey Emiko." Senshi said, getting her attention, by tugging on her sleeve. "Don't fall for their cutesy act. Those two stole my Sacred Treasure, and Erma's doll. We left your side to get our things back."
"Wait, did you say Sacred Treasure?" Yori asked, looking at Senshi.
"Yep." Senshi said, turning his drumstick into its first form, Bumblebee.
"Oh gracious goodness." Yori said. "Emiko, who exactly is Senshi?"
"He's the son of Kuroko Liones."
"He's the descendent of Meliodas and the other Holy Knight Sins? Well, dad should be very intrigued to see you." Yori said.
"What do you mean Yori?" Emiko asked.
"You're gonna have to hear it from dad, I'm not too sure on the details myself, and it is a good story." Yori said.
"Senshi, Emiko. Even though you went after them to get your stolen things back, I'm still a little disappointed you already broke the one rule I set for this trip. It hasn't even been an hour since we got here, and you disappeared to nowhere." Emiko said. "I just want to make sure you're both safe. Especially on a trip like this. You understand that right?"
"Yes Ma'am." Senshi said, reverting his weapon to its base drumstick form.
"Speaking of trips. We'd better get going before we cause even more of a scene here." Yori said.
"Just stay by my sides until we get into her car, okay?" Emiko asked.
"Got it." Senshi said, looking back at the twins who were looking more than a little annoyed they couldn't get Erma and him in even more trouble with Emiko, and that Senshi had managed rat them out before they could say anything.
*So that's out cousin huh? An' she even already has a boyfriend.* Mitsu whispered.
*Neither of them look very impressive.* Momo responded.
*That's pretty funny coming from you, considering that Senshi boy forced you to jump back before you could do anything.* Mitsu exclaimed nudging her sister with her elbow.
*I just wasn't expecting that awesome drumstick to turn into a storm of Kunai. I'll have it one day.* Momo groaned.
*Though I'm curious as to what Erma's power is.* Mitsu said. *They're probably the same as Aunt Emiko's, from the stories mom has told us.*
*It's gonna take a lot more than that to impress gramps.* Momo said.
*No doubt about that, however… It would be nice to see what she's really made of before she meets him.* Mitsu added.
*Oooh, that would be delightful.* Momo finished, as they were concocting a plan.
When they got into Yori's van, Senshi and Erma were seated in the back with Sam, while Emiko sat in the front with her sister as they drove through the city.
"You know you didn't have to go through the hassle of taking an airplane, right sis?" Yori asked. "You could've easily teleported all four of you through a TV Screen or something."
"Don't look at me, it's was Sam's idea." Emiko said.
"Well I figured the time on the flight might help calm her mind before getting here." Sam said.
"Wow, wasting some spare money to calm my sister down. Is that right rich boy? Yep, he's a keeper." Yori teased.
"Plus Senshi's powers would have negated that ability on him specifically." Sam said. "Erma tried it once with Senshi, and he lost an arm."
"But… he has both his arms." Yori said.
"I'm immortal." Senshi said. "At least when it comes to physical injuries. If I lose an arm, it'll just grow back."
"Then how'd you get that scar?"
"Cursed flames." Sam said. "We grounded him for a month when we found out where he went and how he got that scar."
"Wait, you're his legal guardians?" Yori asked.
"We have to. None of his other family is fit for taking care of him, they even said so." Emiko explained.
"Doesn't that kinda make his relationship with Erma, a bit weird?" Yori asked.
"No, he's still Senshi Liones. We didn't fully adopt him, but he is under our care, so we are responsible for disciplining him." Sam said.
"What about his mom?" Yori asked.
"Prison. She was an assassin who had a fee only the richest of the rich could pay up." Emiko said. "Unfortunately though, she's at large again, having escaped prison."
"His father?" Yori inquired.
"An emissary of the Demon King. Who thirsts for nothing but chaos and carnage." Sam exclaimed.
"What about his other family?" Yori questioned.
"The Seven Deadly Sins? Those Holy Knights aren't exactly the best, don't get me wrong they're good at taking care of children, they just have no clue how to do it in this day and age." Emiko said.
As the drive continued on, Erma and Senshi were taking in the sights and the scenery of the city, as Senshi was ignoring what the adults were saying and what the troublemakers were doing. Eventually, they left the city and got to the forest. When they reached a, do not enter, sign on a chain, Yori got out and undid the chain, before driving in. Before she could stop to put it back up, Senshi did that for her using his telekinetic abilities.
"Now that was sweet of you." Yori smiled, driving down the road. After driving down the bumpy road for another half hour, Yori stopped the van as they couldn't go any further.
"Alright, everyone out. We're walking from here." Yori said getting out of the van. "There's gonna be fog up ahead, so stay close."
It was about another hour or so of walking through the trail, as Erma, Sam, and Senshi were looking at the ruins of statues, and shrines littered along the path. Eventually they reached a Torri Gate with a lot of stairs leading down.
"We're almost there. We should be getting out of the fog when we reach the bottom of this path." Yori said.
"Bet I can reach the bottom before you sis." Mitsu said.
"In your dreams." Momo said.
"How about it E, S? Think you can beat us down these stairs?" Mitsu taunted.
"I don't know Mitsu. Maybe they're still a little shook up from what happened at the airport?" Momo mocked.
"Oh, we'll see who's laughing when you're beaten." Senshi said.
"Oh dear." Emiko sighed. "They've done it now."
"What's the matter?" Yori asked.
"It is impossible for Senshi to say no to a challenge, including one that gives him an opportunity to test his skills." Sam explained. "Let's just be grateful he's keeping his bracelet on. I'd rather not deal with a forest fire."
"I don't know, it doesn't seem like a good idea." Emiko said.
"Aww, needing permission from your guardians, and mommy? That's cute." Mitsu said as the twins took off, turning into sakura petals.
"See you at the bottom." Momo added.
"Y'know Emi, this reminds me of the time we dealt with those Hitosume Kozo when we were kids." Yori said. "Remember how they usually got their fun from pranking us all the time?"
"Well yeah, they thought they were untouchable." Emiko said.
"Mhmm, and we sure had some fun when we eventually dunked them into the local river." Yori smiled. "But it was against our dad's wishes. Then again, a stuck up like him, was never a fan of fun. Heck, he barely let us out of our own home. One thing I've learned when it comes to parenting, we can only prevent nature for so long."
With those words, Erma was stomping in place, before Senshi went zipping down the stairs, with Erma close behind him.
"J-just wait for us at the bottom okay? An' b-be careful and… uh… Why did you do that?" Emiko questioned her sister.
"Sorry, I figured they needed to loosen up a little since we've been traveling for some time. I'm sure they'll be fine and waiting when we get down there." Yori exclaimed.
"I don't know. I kind of wanna see how this turns out." Sam said.
"Samuel Williams. I know that look in your eyes. It's that spark that leads to another one of your books. Now's not the time for…" Emiko scolded, before Sam interrupted her.
"No. No honey, not at all." Sam exclaimed.
Down with Erma and Senshi, the duo caught up to the twins in no time, taking them by surprise as they passed them.
"They're fast." Mitsu said.
"Yea? Well they won't get very far." Momo exclaimed, bringing out a string with a weight on the end, before she threw it at them. Before the string could wrap around her intended targets, Senshi held up his hand and sent it back, tying Mitsu and Momo up, and sending them to the ground. "Hey, no fair that's cheating."
"Oh please, don't whine when your own attempt to cheat backfired." Senshi said, leaving a sign around their necks that said, Cheaters, in Kanji. "Later." He smiled, before flying off, catching up with Erma and even passing her by. As they reached the bottom Torri Gate, Senshi and Erma were both grabbed by a pair of invisible hands that stretched out.
"Whoa, slow your role there you two. What's the rush?" A familiar voice asked.
"Uncle Ben." Senshi cheered as Ben became visible again. "What are you doing here?"
"I stopped by the house to talk with Emiko and Sam, but Diane told me you'd gone for a trip to Japan, so I had Oslo bring me to where you might be." Ben said, putting them down, before a bucket of water was dumped on his head.
*Who's the old fart?* Mitsu questioned in Japanese.
*My name is Ben Shigura, you impudent brats.* Ben replied, the bucket on his head bursting to pieces, showing he was very annoyed. *Who the hell are you?*
"You two, run." Senshi pointed to the twins. "NOW." He shouted.
Mitsu and Momo were shocked he'd tell them to run, but not wanting to get on the bad side of someone who'd bested them twice, they turned into cherry blossom petals again and dashed past the trio, before Ben calmed down.
"Why don't you two go explore the town? I'll wait here for Emiko and Sam." Ben sighed.
"Don't forget about Yori, Erma's aunt." Senshi said, before he and Erma went to explore the abandoned looking village.
Senshi and Erma agreed on following the sakura petals, and found they lead to the biggest house in the abandoned village. Going in, Senshi couldn't help but look at the place in awe.
"This place looks like it belonged to the village leader." Senshi said, as he and Erma flew after the twins. Following the trail of sakura petals, Senshi couldn't help but feel like there was something different about this town in general. As they continued to follow the petals, Senshi and Erma saw they began to lessen as they reached the main building within the manor.
Back at the Torri Gate, Ben was leaning against the pillar, waiting for Sam and Emiko, and was about to give up, just before the three adults came into view.
"Ben? What are you doing here?" Sam inquired.
"I'm here, because I've got some bad news Senshi has to hear. But I think you should hear it first." Ben sighed, standing up. "It involves my sister."
"Kuroko? What about her?" Emiko asked.
"Um, who is this?" Yori inquired.
"Oh sorry. Sis, this is Senshi's uncle, Ben Shigura." Emiko said. "Ben, this is my sister Yori."
"A pleasure." Ben greeted.
"So, what's up with Kuroko? Did you find her?" Sam inquired.
"That's just it." Ben sighed pulling a box off his back. "Whoever broke Kuroko out of prison wasn't an ally. They wanted her dead."
"But, she has the same immortality as Senshi right?" Emiko asked.
"Normally yes. But the power dampening collar I put around her neck when I took her in, nullified that. An' at that point, so long as it's not removed, anyone could kill her if they wanted to, and so long as the collar remains until her corpse is nothing but a skeleton, her immortality won't kick in." Ben explained. "Kuroko is dead. When she becomes a skeleton, there's no coming back from that, even if the collar is removed."
"But, wasn't Ban able to come back from being blown into tiny bits by Estarossa?" Sam inquired, recalling one of the battles Ban had told them about.
"Yes, but the immortality Kuroko inherited from our bloodline, isn't as potent. This one has its limits." Ben explained.
"What's in the box?" Emiko asked.
"Something that tells me exactly who Kuroko's killer is, and where she was taken." Ben said, opening the box, and revealing a skull with a full head of black hair and something carved into the forehead. "Kuroko was taken to Purgatory. One second here, is a hundred years there. So, Velhallen Beo and the Demon King, didn't have to leave us waiting long to send this to us."
"Is that…?"
"Yeah, it's Kuroko's skull." Ben exclaimed. "With her death, and no grandchild for her powers to go inhabit, they'd been absorbed into Senshi, awakening something within him, that shouldn't have been awoken. I'm also here, to call on an old buddy of mine, who might be interested in helping me hunt down and kill Beo."
"Where are Senshi and Erma now?" Emiko asked.
Back with the two hybrids, they were heading into the main building of the compound, Erma and Senshi seemed a bit skeptical of the place, as there was a giant hole in the center of the room.
"Kararin." They heard a voice said. They looked up, and saw a statue on the ground, and went over to it to see if that was the source of the voice they had heard. "Kororin." The voice spoke again, but a different word. "Kankororin."
Erma and Senshi stepped back from the statue, before Erma stepped on a sandal, which let out a scream of pain as it jumped up and surprised them. After it wailed in pain for a bit, it began cursing them out. After it taught them a new array of colorful language, the sandal ran for the door, and left. Giving chase to the living footwear, Erma and Senshi tried to grab it, but had to stop as the doors closed on their own.
"C'mon why won't these doors open?" Senshi questioned as he and Erma tried to open them, before he looked and saw the paper sheets had eyes. "Oh, that's why."
Senshi and Erma stepped back, not knowing what to do, but when they reached where the hole should have been, they were shocked to find the entire building looked like it was brand new, even the floor looked polished and shined beyond recognition.
As they were trying to comprehend what was happening, Senshi and Erma began to notice the eyes in the paper closing, before the doors opened, revealing several shadowy figures coming towards them.
Erma hid behind Senshi as he was debating whether or not to pull out Chastiefol. It was starting to feel like he should, when they became surrounded by all the different kinds of yokai.
"You gotta be kidding me." Senshi groaned.
