Authors Note: In response to the NUMEROUS Anti Stark/North/Tyrion fanfics, the ones who pretty much worship everything to do with the Targaryen. Warning, this will likely be a substandard fic, but at this point I will take it to counter the sheer amount of Anti Stark/Sam/Tyrion/North, pretty much anti anyone who even GLANCES at Dany/Rhaegar wrong.

The Trope: Rhaegar was a far better man and King then Robert
This one, oh boy, this one just baffles the mind. Why do people love to elevate this dickhead? He abandoned his family and set the realm on fire and there are those 'coughLongclawcough' who have the GALL to say that ROBERT was the one responsible for the Rebellion.
BEFORE you say it. Yes, I'm AWARE that what set it off was Aerys calling for Ned and Robert's heads and Jon called the banners, but all that wouldn't have happened if Rhaegar just kept his cock in his pants.
The Tower of Joy hung still in the desert with it's Kingsguard below guarding...
There was two inhabitants up above...the Wolf princess and her husband.
Rhaegar was preparing his armor, when he heard her voice "is it true?"
He blinked and turned to see Lyanna standing in the doorway...he frowned "Lya you should be lying down it's not good-"
"Is? It? True?"
He looked to see the note in hand from the Raven a day before and grimaced "I didn't want to upset you."
"I deserved to know! My brother, my father..." Her eyes filled with tears "you...you said you were going to talk with them about the bethrothal. Take me as your Second wife!"
Rhaegar shrugged "there was no time. We had to leave as soon as possible. I did not think you cared."
Lyanna stepped back, as if slapped "what?!"
"You hated your father I thought, for 'selling' you to cousin Robert."
She only stared at him as if he was mad "I was angry at him but I never wished him dead! Him or Brandon!"
Rhaegar furrowed his brow, fully turning to her "it was your brother's fault not yours, the moment he stormed into the Red-"
Lyanna cut him off fiercely "which would have never happened if you JUST TALKED TO THEM!"
The two stared at each other, then the Silver Prince shook his head "don't be foolish and sit down, I'm going north to deal with this then we return to Kings Landing."
"'Deal with this?'" Lyanna asked, a scowl on her face "what do you mean 'DEAL WITH THIS' what about deposing your father!? What about-"
"There is no point, they hunger for blood and need to learn they cannot defy a King." Rhaegar said simply as he went to leave "go back to bed, we'll speak more when I return and come for my daughter."
Lyanna stared after him in horror.
'By the Old Gods...what have I done?'
And she sat on her bed, and sobbed...sobbed for her brother and father...and prayed that Ned would live. Quiet and sweet Ned.
'Please take my life and not Ned. Please not sweet Ned. I promise that I'll give my life for his.'
'I promise'
So yeah as you fans can tell, I gave a BIT of sympathy for Lyanna, who I think just impulsively ran with Rhaegar out of a moment of blind HATRED for Rickard Stark for 'Selling' her to Robert Baratheon. But I have NO sympathy for Rhaegar in the slightest. He was a Poor excuse for a prince, poor excuse for a man, and above all else a HORRIBLE excuse of a husband and Father.
