-Chapter 2!-

Andy turned over to the side of the bed where her nightstand was placed. She quickly grabbed her phone and her face lit up at the notification. It was her second notification from the dating app since she had it and she was excited.
"This should be a good one" she whispered to herself while unlocking the phone.
She immediately clicked yes at his profile picture. She then began reading his profile and although she thought it was pretty basic she figured a try wouldn't hurt especially after seeing the profile photo.
Before she really went to sleep she decided to send him a quick inbox message. She didn't know exactly what to say so she settled on a simple "Hi" and placed it back on the side table and snuggled back into her bed before falling asleep.
{Roberts POV}
Robert knew that he was planning on retreating soon and he had an idea of where he wanted to go after and what his career plan would look like.
He never really was a boyfriend type in High School. He was always just a good friend that was there for everyone and he was really smart and funny. He never settled with any of the girls that tried to talk to him. He knew he was always just a little taller than everyone and people found him insanely cute but he really just wanted to focus on graduating and moving on with his life.
Robert woke up on another early morning and he immediately got dressed and went down to eat his breakfast. He then did his usual workout routine and he also trained the new recruits while doing so. He then dismissed them to shower and change and he did so himself.
After he showered he caught himself a small break before they had to be sent out to the fields so he opened up his laptop and scrolled through the online dating site.
He was sure he wasn't going to find anything he liked in someone but he just found the site funny and even though he joined it he didn't really expect nothing to come from it.
After a short 10 minutes of scrolling he stopped and took a look at one profile. The first thing that attracted him to look just a little harder was her smile. It was so bright it could light up the dark sky. He then examined the picture of which only showed her face and he knew that this could be his potential.
He searched and read her whole Bio of what she had enlisted and it wasn't much to give but what she did give out was enough to tell him that this girl was special and she was really nice. He looked at his watch and realized that he had 5 minutes to get on the field so he quickly accepted her and closed his laptop and placed it back into his suitcase and locked it up.
{Andys POV} -9:30AM-
She woke up happy and refreshed. She immediately ran into her bathroom and took a shower and did her whole morning routine. She was lucky that Ryan didn't show up this morning because he would definitely catch on to her happy self.
She quickly threw on a tank top and some leggings and went into the kitchen. She made herself a berry smoothie and a bagel with a side of cream cheese and sat on her couch. She then turned on her favorite show and began to watch it.
While in the midst of her eating and watching she received the same little message tone just like last night and she immediately picked up the phone.
"Hi sorry it's late but I was at work and I assume we may have a time difference" she read the message and was slightly confused. She knew about time differences but she didn't know that somewhere where he was it was well into the evening already and where she was it was the early morning.
"It's fine. Can I ask however where exactly you are?" she replied knowing it was a bit forward but she just needed to know. She didn't want to sound rude or pushy to cause him not to answer or to give him the idea of her not wanting to start anything due to the time difference.
She went back to eating her food and she then received another text but it was simply Ryan texting her good morning and saying that he'll come over tonight.
{Roberts POV}
He had just come back in from a long hard day. He worked for a total of almost 12 hours on and off taking stretch breaks and lunch. He then got off and went up to his room where he ate a salad and grilled cheese for his dinner.
Robert wasn't really obsessed with the fresh meals they gave to eat so he always settled on the basic things. If there was something he definitely missed from being in his home country and state was the food.
After he finished eating he took a long steamy shower to help release the tension that was in his muscles. He then got out and put on comfortable clothes and grabbed his laptop and went into bed.
He noticed how it got pretty late his time but he figured that a reply wouldn't be so bad. He thought of the endless ways to answer her but nothing ever sounded right. He decided to go with a simple text and wait until she made the next move.
{Andys POV}
"I'm currently in Germany for work" when she read this she was slightly surprised. Germany wasn't a very close place to where she was and in fact it was in a completely different continent.
Andy was slightly taken back because she didn't expect to be doing a long distance relationship if she even ended up with this man but it was still shocking. She loved his personality and his looks already from his bio and she knew she had to get more details.
She then quickly replied back asking for a number she could call him from. She knew that they just met but online texting isn't really useful when you can't hear the person.
To her surprise he responded with a number and attached in a message he said he had an hour now before he goes to sleep. She quickly grabbed her blanket and made herself comfortable on the couch and dialed the number he had given her.
{The Conversation}
He saw the new number pop up on his phone and his heart immediately began racing. He hasn't been able to use technology often due to his positions but occasionally he'll use it to talk to Lucas and scroll through American news channels.
"Hello" he responded in the most perkiest way possible.
"Hi umm my name is Andrea but you can call me Andy" she said nervously.
"I'm Robert," he replied not knowing how to properly introduce himself.
"That's nice um I liked your profile picture and your little bio" she said in a more happy tone hearing him take a deep breath on the other end.
"You're very beautiful yourself" he said in a light whisper.
Andy already knew that this man was everything she needed and she knew that she had to make this right in whatever way she can. Her skin filled up with goosebumps at the sound of his deep seductive tone.
"What exactly do you work for?" she asked intrigued to see if he was even going to tell her.
"Please don't be mad but I don't think I can disclose that 's nothing bad but I don't think I can go around saying my titles" he said nervously thinking that she was just going to hang up right there and then.
"That's understandable I guess. Is it morning or night there?" she asked.
"It's pretty late into the night," he responded.
"I won't keep you up late since you probably have top secret things to do in the morning but I need to know what is this" she said in almost a whisper nervous to hear the response that would be given.
"From your picture and your voice I know your a very nice woman and I'm not putting a title to us just yet but I'll say this let's both get off the dating site and let's save each other's numbers and if you want to make sure it's really me tomorrow same time you can video call me and we'll talk a little longer" he said smiling on his end of the phone knowing that she is smiling too.
"We could definitely work that out. Goodnight" she said in a normal voice hoping to not give away her excitement in how happy she was.
"I'll text you when I wake up but after I'll be gone for a couple of hours but I promise I'm still here" he said nervously that she was going to leave and move on before he got the proper chance to know her.
"Robert it's ok I'm not going anywhere I'll wait for you whenever" she said laughing at his voice and sensing how nervous he became.
"Goodnight have a wonderful day" he said before ending the call.
{Roberts POV}
As soon as the phone call ended he immediately saved her number as "Andy" with a cute emoji. He then turned off his light and went to sleep.
He couldn't stop thinking about her voice and the way how happy yet nervous she sounded.
Robert knew that today was another long day that was awaiting ahead of him and he would be pretty tired but he was glad he got the chance to plan another call with Andy.
{Andys POV}
Andy quickly cleared the dish from the table and washed it and placed it into the dishwasher.
She was very happy that the app worked because secretly she thought it wouldn't. She was glad she didn't end up deleting it just yet and she actually found someone.
She quickly grabbed her purse and threw on a sweatshirt and drove to Ryan's house. She didn't really know why she was going there considering he may not be there but she just needed to release her excitement to someone that wasn't her dad.
{At Ryan's}
"Ryan open up" she said pounding on the door loudly.
"Ok Andy why are you at my house" he said squinting his eyes to adjust to the sunlight that was now shining in from outside.
"No questions yet and besides you do the same for mine" she said moving into his house and sitting on his couch.
"Looks like you're staying so I'll go grab some sweatpants" he said, closing the door and moving back into his room.
"Remember how I told you I was on a dating site right?" she said looking over to him as he completely ignored her statement.
"Andy you know I don't function off of adrenaline. I need my coffee first so when I sit beside you we'll speak" he said, fixing himself some toast and coffee in the kitchen.
Andy was restlessly sitting there on the couch so she decided to look at her phone just in case she missed any messages and sure enough she had one.
A couple hours had passed since she last spoke to him and so she thought he was awake now and getting ready. She then thought to herself about how he only got four hours of sleep and wondered if he was even functional.
She read the message in her head and it was nothing but sweet. He ended up sending her another picture of him smiling along with the message "Good Morning,Can't wait to talk later". She sent him a quick response and noticed Ryan was coming so she put her phone back into her bag.
"Now you may speak freely" he said sitting beside her.
"I was on a dating app" she began but was quickly interrupted.
"You told me" he said taking a sip of his coffee
"Let me tell the whole story please. I was on a dating app of which I am no longer on because I found someone who seems like a sweetheart and is really attractive" she said smiling.
"Let me see a picture of him," he asked laughing at her excitement.
"Nope he's my little secret for now but you'll see him eventually" she said knowing that wasn't something he wanted to hear.
"Andy you're a grown woman you know what you can and cannot handle but I will say one thing if he messes with you I'll handle him personally and also don't try and get pregnant so soon" he said looking directly at her.
"I won't be getting pregnant any time soon because he is in Germany and so you have nothing to worry about for now" she said watching how quick his face changed.
"Germany wow there really are a lot of fishes in the sea I should probably find myself on an app" he said grabbing his phone out from his pocket.
"Ya no I think you're better off finding a local person someone at like the park or the grocery store" she said to him.
"Whatever Andy," he said going back into the kitchen.
"I'm leaving now so I'll see you whenever" she said exiting his house.
Andy then drove over to the station where her father worked. He was in love with this station and had been working for years in it. Andy always used to swing by after school and play with all the equipment until they were called out.
"Hi dad," she said hugging him. "Hi Andy. What brings you by" he said taking a seat to listen to the awaited conversation.
She didn't want to tell him about the new person in her life just yet because she knew that he would be mad and besides she didn't know where exactly this was going anyway.
"I just came by to say hi. I mean I was pretty busy all day yesterday and you were on shift" she said. "I'm always on shift if I'm not here then I'm home" he said sipping his water.
"Well soon after I complete my course in the academy I'll take over for you" she said patting his shoulders. "Well that is going to be at least another two years because you wanted to explore the world first" he said bickering at her.
Andy knew that her father was getting tired of constantly working everyday even though he would personally never say it. His whole team was going down to the retirement age and she knew that he wouldn't leave this station in the hands of anyone no matter how old he became.
"Dad I promise just give me at least one month and I'll sign up" she said. "You should've signed up the minute you left college" he responded in an attitude way.
She knew how he felt about her having a break and just sitting around the house doing nothing but she needed this break to think on some things and just breathe and so despite his opinions she did what she knew was best for her.
"I'll make you proud like I always do. I got to go now so I'll see you sometime soon" she said hugging him and walking out the main door.
It wasn't quite dark outside yet and it wasn't super windy and cloud like it normally was so Andy decided to go to the park and sit on the bench and watch the children play in the playground and the other people walk around with their dogs.
After about an hour Andy became cold and so she went home. She decided to make herself some homemade mini pizzas and in which she laid in bed and watched movies through her laptop.
She soon finished and washed the dishes and took a warm shower and snuggled into her bed waiting for the call that could either potentially change her life or mess it up...
