Author's Notes: Hey everyone, I hope that you liked the last chapter and that you will like this one as well. As always I own nothing.

Karl was making his way back to his rooms when he heard a scream from an alleyway, turning he sprinted towards the sound. As he drew near he caught the smell of blood and another scent, a scent he had smelled before, the werewolf! He was sure of it! He poured strength into his legs, determined to catch the fellow in the act, he rounded the corner and came upon a scene of carnage. He thought it had once been a boy, though it was hard to tell, the body had been so badly mauled that it was barely recognizable as human. But Karl's attention was focused, not on the victim, but on the killer.

The other werewolf was in his wolven form, his shape confirming that he was male. Unlike Karl the other werewolf was grayish in color and his fur was dirty and worn in places. His eyes locked on Karl and as his nostrils flared the other werewolf stiffened in surprise as he realized what Karl was. Surprise quickly turned to rage and he lunged toward, his claws aiming for Karl's face. Karl barely managed to throw himself to the side and he lost his footing on some rubbish and landed in a heap on the ground. His attacker sailed over him to crash into the wall, landing partially on top of Karl. The two struggled on the ground, Karl trying to get out from under him and his opponent trying to get into a position where he could get at Karl.

He finally managed it and raked Karl's back. Pain flared and Karl yelled in pain and threw his elbow back into the other werewolf's face, crunching his opponent's nose. The other yelled, more in surprise than in pain, and both of his hands went to his nose. Karl took advantage of his opponent's distraction to wriggle out from under him and crawl on his hands and knees away. Once he was far enough away he rose to his feet, throwing his torn coat off and preparing to change himself and meet his opponent claw-on-claw. Just then he heard the sound of a crowd approaching the other heard them as well. With a hateful snarl he bounded away and vanished just as the crowd came onto the scene. There were several frightened screams as those in the lead caught a glimpse of the werewolf.

"What in the name of Sigmar was that?" Screamed a man dressed as a butcher.

"A monster!" Screamed another who had the look of a professional idler. Seeing an opening, and not wanting them to guess at the truth, Karl quickly interjected.

"Quite right my man. It is indeed a monster, some kind of mutant would be my guess. Instantly the crowd focused on him.

"Who are you?" Someone demanded.

"He's the one Pfeiffer brought in to stop the killings." Someone else put in. This caused an unhappy stirring in the crowd, clearly these people thought no better of Pfeiffer and those who worked for him than anyone else that Karl had seen so far.

"Looks like he is just as worthless as all his other thugs." Another member of the crowd shouted as they pointed at the remains. It was beginning to look as if the crowd might turn on him. He had to do something, fast. Fortunately for him an idea came to him before they could start anything.

"If I don't look into this who will? The Watch? I think we all know how much effort they'll put into finding the killer. More likely when they hear the word 'mutant' they will go running to the church and you know what happens then. Do you really want the Witch Hunters in these streets?" That had the desired effect. The angry mutterings turned fearful, it seemed that they feared the Witch Hunters more than they feared the killer or Pfeiffer. The crowd began to breakup, the speed with which they dispersed could make one think that those dreaded individuals were already in the area and hiding just around the corner.

After they had gone Karl allowed himself to relax. He had not wanted to threaten them but he could not have a mob after him, not when he was tracking down such a dangerous foe. He turned and went back towards the mangled remains. He bent down next to the body, he leaned down and inhaled deeply to get the other werewolf's smell. Rising he turned in the direction that his prey had gone and started running. It was time for the hunter to become the hunted.
