Chapter 38

"I love you and I want to have your babies..." She confessed boldly.

As those words tumbled from her lips, 'the monster' took two steps back, and the roaring stopped.

Will he finally change back into his normal form?!

He snarled at her, but Catherine shook her head and closed the gap again. Instead of pulling her hand back, she kept caressing his hard face. She did that slowly, showing him that she loved him dearly...

Her fingers traced his warm, almost hot cheek, and she noticed how he was holding in his breath. In response, Cat grabbed the opportunity to boldly cup his face with both her hands. She stared into his golden eyes intensely; her fingers slowly tracing his lips, her fingers trembling, while she whimpered softly. The sound that escaped her lips was not loud, but the monster heard it very clearly.

His eyes fluttered shut, and FINALLY he stopped growling and was quiet. He reveled at her soft caress, while making a soft sound... (was he purring?!)

"I know you've seen those photos, but believe when I say that I did not betray you, Vincent. I would never," she confessed, tears spilling from her eyes." I'm here to stay... I love you, and I will never leave you again, my love."

As those words reached the monster, he slowly changed back to Vincent. When she noticed it, Cat smiled happily and turned her face towards Andreas and his men.

They all let out the breath that they had been holding and smiled, relief appearing on their faces.

Catherine turned her face back towards Vincent, and locked eyes with him.

'The monster' had changed back into human Vincent completely…

He looked lovingly at Cat, and smiled through his tears. She smiled widely and that's when he pulled her in a tight embrace.

"I will nev… neverlet you go again, my whirlwind." She heard Vincent say, while he hugged her so tightly, making her sob softly from happiness.

After a few moments, he pulled away from the warm hug and stared down at Catherine, his eyes sparkling like stars.

She nodded and so he gently let their lips collide, the kiss so powerful and magical, Catherine swore it made angels cry…

... ... ...

Approximately 15 minutes later, Cat sat next to Vincent in the limo, while leaning onto him. Their hands were connected, their fingers intertwined. As a smile played at her lips, she sighed contently.

"This feels so real…" she whispered, while her eyes fluttered shut.

Vincent squeezed her hand lightly, and said." This is real, sweetie… we are together again…"

As her eyes fluttered open, he captured her gaze." I missed you so much. These past days, I really thought I wouldn't survive without you…" he confessed, not even blinking once.

She looked lovingly at him, and said. "Well, all of it is in the past now… and if it wasn't obvious already, I missed you too."

"How did you know that the 'monster' wouldn't hurt you, Catherine?" he asked curiously.

"Well, you've told me a few times that I shouldn't be afraid of you… that I should neverfear you." she explained. "I trust you with my whole heart, Vincent…"

As those wonderful words reached his ears, he wanted to kiss her again, but when she yawned softly he gently wrapped her up in his arms. "Why don't you take a nap, sweetie… you look exhausted." He suggested, and kissed her on the top of her head.

"OK…" She replied, slowly closing her eyes, while snuggling further into him.

All of a sudden, she sat up straight. "Crap! I texted my father and Heather, before I left home… but I, ugh! They must be worried out of their minds!"

She then grabbed her phone out her handbag, and dialed her father's number.

"Hey, dad…" she said. "It's me, Cat… everything's fine with me. I'm with Vincent now…"

Five days later, Catherine looked over the Aegean Sea, while the wind blew her shiny, luscious locks in her face and over her head. She giggled, as Vincent attempted to convince Dylan, his new security detail, to not sit so close to him.

"My orders are to protect you, Mr. Keller." The tall American stated. "Andreas will have my head, if something were to happen to you."

His tone wasn't harsh nor cold… it was just… his voice was just toneless.

They were in a speedboat and on their way to one of Parthenios' many houses.

Vincent felt very uncomfortable, his eyes darting towards Catherine.

The look he gave her meant. 'Please, help me out of this...'

And instead of helping him, she smiled at Dylan. "So… have you been working for Parthenios long, Mr. Dylan?" she asked innocently.

"No, Miss… just one year." He said, only answering her question, and then he looked suspiciously at their surroundings.

Vincent sighed deeply and said. "There's nothing and no one around for miles… only seawater, Dylan."

"That may be so Sir, and yet I should be on high alert." Dylan replied, his eyes still darting around.

Cat cleared her throat, attempting to push back her laugh, because Vincent's face was at thatmoment so hilarious.

He was not amused about Cat though...

She smiled and mouthed. 'Sorryyyy'

Vincent was just about to say something to Cat, when he saw land in front of him. "Finally… land!" he said, making her turn her face.

"Wow… this place is truly beautiful, Vincent." She said, and admired the beautiful white beach. "Are we still in Tinos?"

He nodded at that. "Yes, we are… it's just on the other side of the island." He announced.

"Woww…" Catherine uttered, and grabbed her phone to take some photos.

When the boat reached the shore, Vincent and Cat step out of it. He grabbed her by her tiny waist, and swiftly hoisted her out the speed boat. Her eyes locked onto his, as Vincent placed her on the shore.

He had a twinkle in his eyes, and leaned into her, bringing his lips to her ear. "I can't wait till we're alone, Catherine…" Vincent whispered, making her suck in a deep breath." I'd like to show you how much I've missed you… if you'll let me"

With just one single look, he was able to make her feel hot all over. Vincent stayed that close to her for a few moments longer, and gripped her tiny waist, putting a little bit more pressure on her soft flesh, while Parthenios' employee helped Dylan with Vincent's and Cat's luggage.

His lips were still near her ear, making Cat gasp softly, when his hot breath fanned onto her delicate skin.

"Vincent" she whispered, her eyes fluttering shut." What are you doing"

He had barely touched her, and Cat was already a hot mess. He then pulled back and locked eyes with her, while smirking deviously.

His gaze on her, made Cat feel as if the atmosphere had caught fire. She then let out a deep breath and locked her eyes onto his once more.

All Catherine wanted to do right now was to grab Vincent's face roughly and kiss him senseless on the spot. He was still looking at her with those piercing eyes of his, like he was caressing her body with those magnetic orbs.

"We're ready, Mr. Keller. Shall we walk towards the house now?" they both heard Dylan say.

She cleared her throat and instantly began walking behind Vincent's bodyguard with huge strides.

"Hey, why are you walking so fast?" she heard Vincent say behind her.

She turned her face, but kept walking. "Nothing" she simply said, and avoided his gaze, and began to sprint towards the house.

Cat heard him burst out into laughter. "Run, Catherine... run!" Vincent teased her." Monster's gonna get ya"

She rolled her eyes at him, and strode faster in the direction of the house.

At the moment Cat was wearing her slippers and at a certain point felt the sand between her toes. It was really annoying, but she pushed forward.

When she finally reached the porch of the house, Cat whistled aloud.

"This place is huge!" she pointed out and admired the house.

There was a garden with so many flowers. Roses and orchids… Wow!

She was just about to smell a red rose, when she heard Calinico's voice. "Miss Catherine!"

She instantly looked up, and noticed the older man walking in her direction.

He had his arms wide open, and that's when she leaped into his arms.

"I was so worried about you, Miss Catherine!" she heard him say, while a tear rolled down her cheek.

"Missed you too, Calinico…" she uttered, and hugged the older man tighter than before.

"When Andreas told me that he was going to ask you to bring Mr. Vincent back to his human form, I was terrified for you, my dear…" she heard Calinico say, his voice trembling heavily.

She nodded, and pulled back from the embrace. "I know… Andreas told me… I'm lucky though to not only have my dad, but I also have you, Calinico…" she replied, while looking at the older man.

He cleared his throat, and said. "Well, you are the one…"

The one to break 'the curse' was what he meant.

Tears pooled in Calinico's eyes, and yet they didn't spill. He was a Greek man, who from the age of 5 was trained not to cry in front of people…

He smiled at Cat, and then Vincent said. "Well, what about me, Calinico?"

Vincent had reached the porch of the house also, and stood not far from the duo.

"Mr. Vincent…" was what the older man uttered.

It was then, when Vincent took a step towards him and hugged his butler.

"Sir… I'm so ha… happy right now." Calinico confessed. "The both of you healthy and more importantly… you and Miss Catherine are together again…"

As they pulled back from the hug, Vincent smiled at the older man. "I'm so glad everything turned out fine, Calinico…"

The older man nodded at that. "Let's get inside the house, OK?" Calinico suggested. "Parthenios' maids and I have made the bedrooms ready for you."

"Let's go inside then." Vincent replied, and locked eyes with Cat.

She stood still on the porch, moved by Vincent and Calinico's little reunion.

"Are you OK, sweetie?" he asked, and cupped her face lovingly.

She nodded, and wiped away her tears. "Yup, yes I'm fine…"

"Good."

As they intertwined their fingers, Vincent and Cat both followed Calinico inside the house.

OK, it isn't just a house… it was a mansion.

She stared her eyes out, while admiring the living room. "Beautiful…" she said.

A smile played at Vincent's lips, and then he asked. "Which house is more beautiful? This one or mine before it was burned down?"

Cat shook her head at that. "I truly cannot choose, Vincent…" she pointed out. "Honestly, they're both magnificent."

Hand in hand, she and Vincent followed Calinico up the stairs, while she stared her eyes out with open mouth, admiring everything inside the huge mansion.
