Nothing special, lovelies, just feel like updating my one shot series. There's going to be a new TO this week, but instead of waiting, I'll just update now. Thank you for the reviews, you're amazing!

TO 1x08 AU. After the deaths of the vampires in Marcel's court.

I wanna be with you
If only for a night
To be the one who's in your arms to hold you tight
I wanna be with you
There's nothing more to say
There's nothing else I want more than to feel this way
I wanna be with you

Klaus exited Marcel's courtyard, still pissed about being betrayed by Rebekah. How dare that ungrateful bitch side with that insufferable bastard! She just stood there and let what unfolded happen. While he did manage to free himself and kill the minions, the sting of the betrayal was still fresh.

Family above all, my ass, he thought. Rebekah had no right doing what she did. She's lucky that Marcel took the coward's way out and picked up that coin, or there would've been a lot more dead bodies than there were just now.

No sooner did he finish that thought than a familiar scent reached Klaus' senses. That's strange, who the hell could this be? He didn't remember anyone following him, but that didn't mean that he wasn't curious. He followed the scent all the way through the Quarter, not sure who this was, but determined to find out. The scent got stronger with every step, and that only fueled his curiosity even more.

I'm not going to give up until I find out just who is luring me toward them like this, he thought. The question is, who is it? The scent is familiar, but whose is it?

The scent brought him to the cemetery just outside the church he had gone to earlier that day. That's strange, why here? He got the whole "keeping-to-the-shadows-avoid-detection" thing, but this? However, he couldn't just walk away, not when he was so close to finding out who was signaling him like this.

When he got to a crypt in the middle of the cemetery, he saw a blonde girl standing outside of it. No, it couldn't be, could it? It looked like her, but he didn't want to be wrong in guessing who it was, having been betrayed by one blonde tonight.

"Caroline?"

Smiling, she replied, "The one and only. I know that a cemetery isn't exactly the best place in the world to meet, but I couldn't risk being seen."

Klaus nodded, still surprised to see her. "What are you doing here?"

"What do you think, silly? I'm here because I couldn't stand being where I wasn't needed," said Caroline. "Besides, after the night you had, you look like you could use some comfort."

"You have no idea how right you are, love," said Klaus. "I could definitely use some comfort, and seeing you is a great comfort to me." He raised an eyebrow. "How is it that you got here without being detected?"

Caroline scoffed. "Does it really matter how I got here? What should matter is that I'm here."

"You're absolutely right," said Klaus. "I apologize for questioning you." He approached her and hugged her, running his fingers through her hair, catching the familiar scent of sandalwood, honey, and lavender. "I'm glad you're here, Caroline."

Caroline smiled as she returned his hug. "So am I." She stepped back and framed his face in her hands, not giving a shit that it was still stained with the blood the vampires he just killed. "Come on, let's go somewhere a little more pleasant. I don't think I want to stay in this cemetery all night. I know that I shouldn't be afraid of things like this because I'm a vampire, but I'd rather not stay here."

Klaus nodded again and scooped her up into his arms, kissing her gently. "Great minds think alike, because I was just about to suggest that. Anywhere in particular you wish to go?"

"I don't care," said Caroline, returning his kiss. "I just want to be with you."

Klaus kissed her again and then vamp sped them out of the cemetery. He didn't care where he took them either. The only thing that mattered was that Caroline was here with him, and it made the sting of the betrayal not hurt as much. In fact, the pain seemed to vanish in that moment, and he truly felt like a king.

Note: I know this is short, but I thought I'd give you an update. I'm still pissed about last week and the way Klaus was betrayed by Rebekah. So, I did what I was originally going to do before mycutehamlet requested the Thanksgiving story. Enjoy, my lovelies, and keep the Klaroline faith!
