Okay, my lovelies, I thought I'd do a "Klaroline-ified" version of the ending of this week's TO, mainly because I wasn't too thrilled with it. Thank you for your reviews and never give up hope for Klaroline!
TO 1x18 AU.
And on the way down
I saw you
And you saved me
From myself
And I won't forget
The way you loved me
On the way down
I almost fell right through
But I held onto you
A sigh left Klaus' lips as he proceeded to his room, thinking about the scene with Elijah. The two had gotten into a nasty fight, both verbally and physically, and it had taken a toll on him emotionally. In fact, he just wanted to put the whole day out of his mind. However, when he arrived at his room, he was surprised to see Caroline sitting on his bed, dressed in a beautiful blue evening gown. How the hell did she get here without him sensing her?
Before he could speak, she said, "I know that you're surprised to see me, but I heard about this party that you were hosting and I thought I'd crash it."
To which he replied, "It's not that I'm not happy to see you, Caroline, but the party you are referring to came to an abrupt halt thanks to Marcel. He staged a surprise attack on us. Obviously, banishment wasn't enough to end his threat."
Caroline nodded. "I know. I saw all the mayhem from where I was hiding. This Marcel guy must really be desperate if he staged a surprise attack at what was supposed to be a fun evening for the witches, being that it was a feast day for them."
"Hiding?"
"Yes, I didn't want to reveal myself until the right moment," said Caroline. "Why? You don't like my plan?"
"Oh, on the contrary, I do, since it was too dangerous to be out in the open," said Klaus. "I'm just surprised that I didn't even sense your presence." He sighed. "I just wish I could forget this whole thing even took place. Unfortunately, I can't compel myself."
Caroline got up off the bed and went over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Then, focus on something else, or rather, someone else. And, yes, before you ask, I don't mind being your blonde distraction this time."
"Thank you, love, you have no idea how grateful I am that you're here," said Klaus. "I could use a distraction right about now."
Caroline giggled and kissed him passionately, vamp speeding them to the bed. Klaus returned her kiss and let his hands roam up and down her body, hearing her moan against his lips as she felt his caresses. As they continued to kiss, Klaus could feel himself forgetting about the events of the evening, including the scene with Elijah.
Several Hours Later...
Klaus smiled as he held Caroline under the sheets. Although not everything went according to plan tonight, the one thing that made it better was the fact that Caroline was here with him, being the "blonde distraction," and not minding it. He kissed her forehead, inhaling the sweet scents of sandalwood, honey, and lavender, one of the things he loved the most about her.
Caroline looked up at him then, noticing that he was quiet. "What are you thinking about?"
"The fact that you're here with me, making everything better."
"Well, you had a very stressful evening, what with Marcel sending you that threat from exile and then your fight with Elijah downstairs," she replied. "I couldn't stand seeing you so upset, so I wanted to help take the pain away, even if only for a little while."
Klaus nodded. "Still, it's good to have you here, love."
Caroline smiled at him and kissed him, enjoying the moment between them.
Note: This was also a request from mycutehamlet, which I neglected to mention in the note at the beginning. Anyway, enjoy and never give up hope for Klaroline!
