Running into Your Arms: Eternity With you

AN: I know you guys have been waiting a long time and I really do apologize. Enjoy.

This is picking up right where part one ended.

AN 2: I've never been pregnant, so I'm working with what I've been researching about how pregnancy affects the body and so forth, as well as adding my own spin, so please excuse me if something isn't accurate.

Bella thought sex with Edward was bliss; that nothing could compare to it. But she was wrong, so very wrong. The feeling of Garrett's skin against hers felt like heaven, and his touch alone sent fireworks throughout her body. Garrett was soft and gentle, taking great care to make sure she was comfortable. Comfortable didn't even begin to describe how she felt.

She felt cherished, desired, wanted, and most of all, free. She had given herself to another, something she never thought she'd do since being with Edward, and not while being pregnant with his child, but it had become too hard to ignore, and embracing the bond she had slowly built with Garrett felt so right that she couldn't stop even if she wanted to.

She felt like she was a part of him, a part that could never be removed or replaced. Garrett knew what he was doing and how to do it, even if it was uncharted territory for him. It was like life was kicking into place, their souls intertwining with one another so deeply you couldn't tell one from the other. Bella would never forget the way they had sunken into the warm bath water, her back to his chest, his lips on her skin.

The feelings of his hands wrapped around her so gently, or his fingers teasing her in all the right places, applying the right amount of pressure. He knew where to touch, kiss, and hold, keeping Bella into nothing but a relaxed state of continuous pleasure. At just the right angle, legs and body spread to his liking and her comfortability, they were combined into one, giving into the haze of lust and passion. But it was more than that.

It was more about the feeling of completeness that transpired rather than the attraction. His soft cooing in her ear was like a sweet caress, urging her body to let go, and send her spiraling. Spiraling it did, mentally and physically. Bella was lost in the moment, nothing but the body underneath hers keeping her afloat.

Garrett had spun his web, and Bella was happy to be caught in it.

Garrett sets Bella's jacket over her shoulders, helping her put her arms through the sleeves. Butch was pawing at the door ready to get out. "Hold on you impatient bastard," Garrett gripes. Bella chuckles, leaning over a bit to get her shoes on. "Don't be so mean to him,"

Bella puts on her gloves, and after getting bundled up, she opened the door, and Butch happily ran outside in the snow, barking at the falling snowflakes.

Garrett pulls the door shut behind them, taking Bella's gloves hand in his. Bella smiles up at him and leans against him. "Do you celebrate Christmas?" He wonders, and Bella nods. "I do. It's the best time of the year. I'm hoping however that this child of mine makes an appearance beforehand," She looks down fondly at her stomach, her hand grazing over her protruding belly. Garrett places his hand next to hers, his eyes shining in delight like always. "If they are anything like their mother, I'm sure that won't happen," He chuckles, wiggling his brows at Bella's playful glare. Bella just sticks her tongue out at him, Garrett's hearty laugh echoing in the yard.

Bella smiles, looking around to see Butch wandering off into the woods. "How far do you let him go out there?" She nudges her head in Butch's retreating form. "Not too far. I can still see him. I don't know why he likes to frolic so much," He grumbles, and Bella shrugs, "Maybe he's just like his daddy," She teases, pulling her hand away from him and hurrying across the yard as quickly as she could to avoid whatever his retaliation would be.

She gasps at the cold, and wet slap to her butt, turning around to see Garrett innocently looking away, snowball in hand. "Hey! No fair!" She calls, slowly squatting down to gather up some snow. She yelps as he tosses another one. She hurriedly makes a tight snowball, tossing it in his direction, barely hitting his shoulder. "Ha!" She huffs in triumph, screeching out in delight as she misses being hit. "Be careful!" Garrett calls out as she hurries across the yard and behind one of the thick pine trees.

"Peter!" She harshly whispers, peeking around the tree. Garrett was nowhere to be seen. "Yes?" She turns to glare at him, only to smile as his arms were filled with snowballs. "How fast can you build a fort?" Peter grins, disappearing. It only took a minute tops for Peter to mold the snow into a small barrier. Bella slowly inches out from behind the tree, looking around before walking across the few feet to meet him. She starts to squat down, but decides to just sit in the snow, looking around for Garrett. "Where is he?" She whispers. "Getting Butch. Start making some snowballs woman," He commands, and Bella rolls her eyes. "6 months pregnant here, how fast do you expect me to go?" She retorts. Peter mocks her in a high-pitched tone, and Bella tosses a snowball at his head. Peter glowers at her before crouching down beside her, quickly making a small mountain of snowballs. "Okay, on the count of 10, throw straight ahead,"

He helps position her on her knees behind the barrier, and they quietly count. Peter suddenly disappears from her side, and by the time she got to 1, Garrett was emerging from the woods with Butch. A heavy patch of snow falls on Garret's head, and Bella tosses the snowball like Peter said, surprisingly hitting Garrett in the face. From there started the first vampire snowball fight with a pregnant human.

Bella's screeching in delight echoed through the yard as she and Peter ganged up on Garrett, having a grand time. Garrett nor Peter had ever had this much fun, and with a human no less. Bella's laughter filled their un-beating hearts with love. If Garrett wasn't smitten before, he was now. Their game of snowball war ended when Bella had decided to make snow angels, Garrett and Peter horsing around playfully. Bella laid, staring up at the blue sky.

Her two vampires had eventually stopped and sat at her sides.

"Do you believe in fate?" She quietly asks.

"I guess so," Peter responds, just as quiet. "Garrett?" She asks, turning her head to look at him. He was looking down at her, his face holding such fondness. "Yeah," He whispers, caressing her cheek.

Garrett listens to Bella's erratic heartbeat as the phone rings and rings. She was chewing on her bottom lip, her eyes darting back and forth as Butch walked back and forth in the kitchen, obviously waiting on Pete to give him a sliver of food as he prepared some soup and salad for Bella.

"Relax. He'll be happy to talk to you," Garrett murmurs, smoothing a hand down her back. Bella let's out a breath, nodding in agreement. Her nerves skyrocketed as the phone stopped ringing, and Charlie's gruff voice filters on the line, concern, and hope in his voice. Swan residence.

All it took was a choked out 'Dad', and that sent both humans in a spiraling of emotions. Garrett gave Bella her space as she spoke happily to Charlie for the first time since being back in America. He went to assist Peter so that he wouldn't burn down the house. He was never good with appliances. They prepared a rather large soup and salad. Bella was now 6 months pregnant, looking more like an 8-month pregnant woman. It was a bit stressful for Garrett as he worried over her 24/7, but she insisted she was fine. He kept up with giving her his venom every week, which had now gone for a week to every 3 days. She usually fell right to sleep, laying peacefully in Garrett's embrace.

Charlie didn't question Bella on her divorce, something Edward had told him of. He just wanted her home, but Bella wouldn't give him an answer, something he picked up on. Not wanting to lie to Charlie any more than she has, she told him the semi-truth. She was pregnant, and she has divorced Edward because he wouldn't accept their child. She told him that she met someone and that she was in love. Charlie was skeptical. He didn't like that she was pregnant and alone. Now with a man she's apparently only known a few months, he wasn't sure how he felt. He wanted to see her of course to which she hesitated, making Charlie even more worried.

Are you in danger?

Dad, no…I just…I'm happy, in a crazy situation, but happy. I want to see you, I do, it's just you're going to have questions that I can't answer you without putting you at risk.

Charlie is quiet for a moment, and Bella bites her lip nervously at his quietness. You mean that Edward and his family are vampires?

Bella blinks a few times, sitting down on the couch. Garrett and Peter eye one another. "Is this going to be a good thing?" Peter whispers. Garrett shrugs.

Yeah…how did you….

Billy told me. I was drunk, pestering him about you, Edward, and I made some joke about the family being some life sucking demons and well…is this man in your life, is he a vampire too?

Well…yes. He is, but he's not like Edward or the family…I'm alive because of him.

Charlie accepts what he can get. Bella looks up from her place on the couch at Garrett who was nodding encouragingly. Her brows rose in surprise. She and Charlie make plans for him to come out and see her before she gave birth. Her nerves had died down and all she felt was excitement. Garrett knew he was taking a large risk, but he knew Bella wanted to see her father. Considering he already knew the big secret, what harm could come of it?

Peter groans slightly as Bella hands him another bulb. "How many do you need Bella?" He asks, taking it from her, and placing it on the hook. She and Peter had decorated the living room while Garrett was out with Butch. "Until it's full. It's not like you have a limited amount of time…" She sings, laughing at his sour look. Charlie was due in a week, and Bella had been nothing but a ball of energy.

She had taken to decorating. Garrett didn't mind what she did as long as she wasn't putting a blow-up Santa outside. The house smelled like cinnamon, which both vampires had taken to holding their breath. Bella found it cheery, and they had both learned very quickly that an angry Bella is not a happy Bella.

Bella had given Charlie the address to the house, and he of course did a much thorough investigation. He was not disappointed as he had a name, but then of course that name went down a long line of information, and considering Bella's new beau was a vampire, this was clearly nothing but a paper trail. He would have to wait. He didn't tell the Cullen's that he was going to see Bella, unaware that they already knew. He was happy to be rid of Edward, and Jacob was still hoping that his childhood crush would come home. When Charlie learned of the LaPush pack, and was informed about imprinting, he had tried to tell Jacob to give it a rest. If he hadn't by now, he was never going to. Of course, the boy was stubborn.

None of it mattered in the end, however. Charlie was going to see his daughter, and that was enough for him.

Garrett smiles, taking Bella's hand in his as she rocks on her feet, bundled in his jacket. "Just hold on. They are on their way now," He kisses the back of her hand, his other hand on her stomach. She was practically buzzing in excitement. Even though Bella and Charlie weren't that close, she loved him, and realized how much she took him for granted. "You hear the truck?" She asks, looking up at him, her brown eyes sparkling. "You know I can. Your father is silent, making Peter nervous. He just keeps staring at him," Garret chuckles.

Bella rolls her eyes, and a few seconds later, she can hear Peter's truck coming up the drive. She rubs her hands together, this time bouncing on her feet. Up the snowy drive came Peter's truck, and Bella could see Charlie faintly. The truck comes to a stop, and Charlie is the first to step out. Garrett chuckles at Peter's incredibly slow moving from the truck. Charlie pauses by the truck, assessing his daughter. She was glowing, her long, brown hair flowing down her back. She looked healthier than he imagined. He had mulled over the different conditions she could have been in. He didn't know how vampire pregnancy worked, and he imagined her looking thin and brittle.

She looked just like her mother when Renee was pregnant. He sucked in a breath, a small smile forming. The relief and amount of love he felt would have put Jasper to his knees as he closed the distance between them. He took gentle care not to hug her too hard. He stepped back, holding her at arm's length, sighing softly. "You look great Bells," Bella turns a light red under his scrutiny. "Would you like to come inside?" Garrett softly interrupts, causing Charlie to eye him curiously. Garrett keeps Charlie's gaze. Nothing intimidated him anymore, but he did so to be respectful.

While Charlie couldn't hurt him, he knew Bella's feelings would be hurt if he didn't try. Charlie nodded, following Bella inside, who happily started to chatter away about everything. Garrett smiles to himself, patting Peter's shoulder. "You're moving like molasses," Peter lightly growled, glaring at Garrett. "Try sitting in the car with him for two hours with him doing nothing but staring at you," Garrett laughs, closing the door shut behind him.

"Woah, what the hell is that?" Charlie braces himself as Butch rounds the corner, happy to have guests. His eyes widen at how huge he was. He's seen a Great Dane or two before, but Butch was massive. It took Charlie a second to process that a blur had moved across the room. Before Butch could happily pounce on the poor unsuspecting Charlie, Garrett had him by the collar. "Down Butch. Sorry, he's a people person," Garrett says, shooting Butch a look. Butch just happily huffed, and calmly shook himself from Garrett's hold. "I can see that," Charlie murmurs, watching Butch wide-eyed. "He's a sweet dog dad," Bella assures with a smile. Bitch calmly walks over to Bella nuzzling against her stomach and hand. Bella pets behind his ears, cooing softly.

Butch turns his head towards Charlie, watching him intently.

Over the next two weeks, Bella, Garrett, and Peter broke down the mythology of Cold One's. He found it oddly fascinating but didn't understand how someone could be content with living forever. Garrett and Peter each told Charlie of their upbringing, at least of what they could remember. Charlie seemed to let go of his uneasiness and constant fascination after a few days of spending time with Garrett and Peter. Neither Garrett nor Charlie bought up the talk of Bella's future, partially because of the uncertainty. Charlie was able to experience the kicks and movements from his soon-to-be-born grandchild.

He spent the time with Bella he longed for since she was born. He was happy to be in her life again. He saw a side of her he hadn't seen, before she even met Edward. Charlie and the boys finished the decorations for the house while Bella watched from afar, Butch at her side.

Charlie was currently watching the basketball game, Garrett beside him, both engrossed in the play. Bella was asleep upstairs, and Peter was off with Butch out for a late-night walk. "Oh, that should have been called! The ref is kissing ass here!" Garrett snapped quietly, standing in annoyance. Charlie had too stood in surprise at the call, disbelief on his face. "This is why I like baseball," Charlie mutters, shaking his head as the halftime commercial comes on.

"Another beer?" Garrett asks, pointing towards his empty one. "I could use two," Charlie hands him the empty bottle, and Garrett retrieves another three, before coming back to the couch. "You can't get drunk, can you?" Charlie asks, curiously. "No. It sucks but…the taste is something I miss," Charlie hums quietly, and cracks his beer open. "Is she going to…make it?" Garrett pauses at Charlie's question, glancing over at him. "I am going to make sure she makes it. I believe she has a chance at giving birth and surviving while human," Charlie takes a few heavy gulps, letting out a sigh.

"And if she doesn't?" Garrett sits up, turning partially to face him. "That baby means more to her than anything. I promised her that their life comes before hers. If she can give birth, successfully, then I will change her myself," Garrett sets down his beer, looking up momentarily as he could hear Bella shuffle in her sleep. "I'm glad you're here Charlie, and I love your daughter," He turns towards Charlie, meeting his eyes. Charlie willed himself to look into the vibrant red eyes. "Which is why I want to marry her. I'm a man of honor, and I am honored to be a part of her life, her child's life, and I want to give her everything she deserves. With your permission, I'd like to ask for her hand and marry her before she gives birth. Will you allow me that honor?"

Charlie doesn't say anything for a moment, staring Garrett down. Garrett waited patiently, the hand clicking on the clock echoing over the television. Charlie just holds out his hand. "Welcome to the family son,"

Bella swings her arm, her fingers intertwined with Garrett's. "So, what's so special that we couldn't walk in our backyard?" She chuckles, looking around at the various Christmas lights in the park. Garrett just hums, lightly laughing. "A surprise," He simply murmurs, bending down to place a kiss on her head. "Will I like this surprise?" She wonders, looking up as it started to lightly snow. "I would hope so," He replies, pulling her close. Bella smiles into his jacket, walking along with him as they got to the middle of the park. The large gazebo was decorated in lights, and Bella faintly remembers Forks High and her prom.

Only this one seemed more special.

Garrett takes her hand again, veering her toward the gazebo, her light laughter echoing in the mostly empty park. "Garrett, I don't dance," She murmurs out, chuckles still escaping her as he lifts her up the few steps. "I know, which is why you don't have to," He sets her on her feet, hitting the button in the floor to make it slowly spin, cueing on soft Christmas music. His surprised look made Bella laugh. "I didn't know this thing played music," He mumbles, and Bella just shook her head with a smile.

Garrett takes her hand, pulling her as close as he could, her stomach pressing against him like a warm blanket. He takes her hand and uses his arm to wrap around her waist. He took a good look at her face. Her cheeks had plumped up a bit, her face rounding out. Even in the dark and under the twinkling lights she was beautiful. He caresses her cheek with their adjoined hands. "You're so beautiful," He whispers, and she smiles up at him. "I'm going to miss this. Your warmth," She leans into his hand, sighing contently. "As much of a loss as it would be…. if I am able, I'd rather have you forever," Garrett unnecessarily swallows, holding up her hand in front of him.

"Your first marriage may not have gone the way you envisioned, but I believe that there is always room for second chances. Isabella Swan, there's one thing I want to give you before eternity claims you. Will you give me the chance to call you my wife?" Garrett reaches into his pocket, pulling out a ring. It didn't look like a traditional engagement ring, but rather a wedding band, encrusted in red and white diamonds. Engraved on the inside was one simple word.

Eternity.

Bella blinks a few times, taking a moment to process what was happening. Garrett could hear her heart fluttering like a hummingbird's wings. "You want to marry me?" She questions, surprise in her voice, eyes watering. Garrett nods. "I love you…there's nothing more I'd rather do," He takes her face in both hands, wiping away the tears that had started to slowly fall down her cheeks. Bella reaches up, encasing his neck in her arms, tangling her fingers in his hair while stepping on the tips of her toes. Garrett closes his eyes as a feeling of what he can describe as fireworks dance across his lips as she kisses him.

"Okay," She whispers against his lips as she pulls away. Garrett smiles widely, twirling her around in a circle, her squeal echoing through the park.

Both Garrett and Bella decided that they didn't want a big wedding and would rather get married at the park. Since no one was sure when she'd give birth, they decided that they'd get married within the week, with a priest to read their vows, Peter as a witness, and Charlie to walk her down the sidewalk. It was going to be unusually warm, and with a light sweater, Bella wouldn't get too cold. Charlie had taken the next week off so that he could be present.

Bella was just praying that her baby would wait a little while longer. She was doing exceptionally well for as far along as she was. She assumed it was the venom that was keeping her afloat for the moment. Whatever it was, she was grateful. Bella didn't have to plan much, and all she had to get was a dress and some shoes. She found a beautiful pair of white flats to go with a simple white gown and white cardigan. The dress wasn't fancy, nor had those designs she detested. It was simple, just the way she liked it. Her hair was done in a neat bun, a pair of her grandmother's earrings given to her by Charlie as her jewelry accent.

The dress fit perfectly over her stomach, snuggly fitting comfortably. After a week of preparations and making sure she was health enough to be moving around so much, the day had finally come. The sun was bright, shining, warming the outside just enough to feel comfortable, and yet keep the snow on the ground. She was dressed, and almost ready to go, excited to see Garrett. He went out with Peter the night before, much to his reluctance. She was ready to say the words again, and truly mean them.

Charlie was waiting by the door, promising himself he wouldn't cry. When she rounded the corner, he could only purse his lips, a proud smile on his face. "You look more beautiful every time I see you," Bella smiles, shaking her head. "Dad…" She murmurs, taking his outstretched hand. "You sure about this one Bells?" Charlie asks, and Bella nods immediately. "Don't let me fall?" She chuckles out nervously. Charlie laughs softly. "Never. Now come on," He opens the door, taking her hand. "Well…let's go, shall we?"

The walk to the park felt like the longest walk she had ever been on, and yet it wasn't slow enough. When she and Charlie finally stepped atop of the small hill, Bella's breath caught in her chest at the sight of Garrett. He was dressed in a brown suit, his hair tousled naturally. The look of awe on his face was one she would not forget. His hands were clasped in the front of him, his smile blinding. Charlie walks her down the snow-covered sidewalk, but she's too focused on his face to really notice. All she could do was get lost in his shining eyes.

Everything around her blurred until there was nothing but him. Her ears tuned out the priests' words, even her own to an extent, barely registering the reading of her vows. All she heard was I do, and the feeling of Garrett's hands on her face, their lips sealing the pathway to forever.

3 weeks later

Bella's murdering glare had Garrett secretly praying she'd never look at him like that again. "Okay, push Bella," Peter firmly instructs, peering up from between her legs, wincing as Bella's guttural grunt made his ears ring. She painfully groaned, leaning her head back, staring up at the ceiling. The 'Merry Christmas' card to her left briefly catching her eye.

The mistletoe above made Bella smile, reaching up with her arms to wrap around Garrett's neck. He hums quietly with a chuckle, placing a soft kiss to her lips.

"It's a good thing you ran into me, huh?" He murmurs. "Merry Christmas…." She whispers, the soft Christmas music floating through the living room. Garrett caresses her cheek, catching the sudden passing of pain crossing over her features. Garrett's brows raise in surprise, lips pulling into a frown.

"Are you okay? You haven't…" He trails off as she suddenly groans, her eyes widening. "It's happening," She whispers, meeting his eyes.

Garrett's face above her own brought her back to reality. "Hey…" He croons, squeezing her hand. "We're almost there…" Garrett's encouraging along with Peter's instructions guided Bella along, squeezing Garrett's hand tightly. "I see the head, you're doing great Bella, just a few more," Bella glares his way, panting heavily. "Take deeps breaths," Garrett murmurs. He even breathes with her, nodding encouragingly. "Okay…uh…give this one a big push. Okay?" Bella nods, gritting her teeth, and pushes again, squeezing her eyes shut.

"Okay! There are shoulders! I have no idea what I'm doing…" He murmurs. "Peter!" Bella snaps. "Not helping," With a few more deep breaths, and gentle coaxing, a sharp, loud, wailing cry was heard. Bella relaxed in a heap, only Garrett's arm holding her up. He wiped the sweat from her brow, turning to look at Peter who was gently cradling the small child.

Bella tiredly blinked, sitting up as best as she could, a smile on her face. "It's a boy," Peter stares down at what he already classifies as his nephew in awe, wondering how a tiny thing could cause such a fuss. He gently hands the baby over to Bella who instantly wraps her arms around her newborn son. She softly coos, happy tears trailing down her face. Garrett looks down at them both, his own eyes glossing with tears.

He swipes Bella's hair back, his unbeating heart swelling with love.

"So, what are you going to name the little guy?" Peter asks, staring at his family. "Beau," She whispers happily, softly repeating his name.

1 Year Later

The Black Mercedes stops at the end of the drive, soft laughter filtering from the backyard. "Ready? 1! 2! 3!" The sound of her voice washed over Edward, and for a moment, he almost got into the car and drove away. He closes the door softly, and sits his hands in his pockets, walking toward the side of the house. The sudden sound of a dog barking made him pause. "Butch! Down boy!" Butch stopped his barking, but constantly growled.

There, Edward was frozen. Bella walked around the corner, Beau on her hip, her brown eyes meeting his. Edward looked her over, her hair seemed longer than it did the last time she saw him, her face slimmer than during her pregnancy, her body had filled out even more. She still smelled the same, but not as potent. The constant scent of vampire seeped from her pores. He could smell it in the air. He then tore his eyes to Beau, awe, surprise, and guilt hitting him like a freight train. Beau looked more liked Bella, except for the striking brown-green eyes.

Beau regarded him with curiosity, clinging on to Bella's shirt with his small hands. "I…. You're…. Hello," Edward murmurs, clasping his hands in front of him. Bella lightly smiles. "Yes. Edward, this is Beau," Edward smiles at Beau, although it didn't reach his eyes. He was wrong. Carlisle was wrong. Bella was alive and human, with his child. The guilt almost brought him to his knees. "Hello Beau. How old is he? He looks like he's two," Bella smiles down at Beau, holding up his small fist. "He turns one next month. He ages about a year faster. So, what brings you here?" She asks, and Edward is about to answer when he catches the ring shining in the sun. He purses his lips, not sure what he expected when he came here.

"I came to see if you were….and if the baby was born…. I realize that I was wrong. Very wrong," He whispers. Bella just hums, tilting her head at him. "I am so sorry…." He apologizes sincerely, and Bella's smile wavers for just a moment. "I get it. The uncertainty…but it was supposed to be me and you against the world…" Beau starts to babble, looking around in awe like he always did. Bella looks down at him, her expression changing immediately to one of unconditional love.

"I know, and I let you down. I…don't know what I expected when I came here. You're still human," He notes, and Bella nods, tapping Beau's nose. "For a little while. I wanted to experience this time as myself and not a bloodthirsty newborn," She chuckles. His frown doesn't escape her, and she sighs softly. "You still can't get over that, can you? It makes even more sense now that Beau is here. He means everything to me," She kisses his head, smiling as he tugged at her hair.

"You um, you look great," He whispers, stepping back a bit, watching Beau for a moment. He briefly imagined what it would be like to be with them. With Beau. With Bella. He envisions them in their cottage, a vampire Bella at his side. It almost makes him smile. He's thrown from his thoughts as a truck comes up the drive, and Edward's brows raise in surprise as he turns around. He had seen Garrett in Carlisle thoughts, but those didn't even do him justice.

Garrett steps out, eyeing Edward curiously. His attention is quickly adverted however at Beau's delighted squeal of 'Dada!' Garrett walks around Edward, opening his arms, allowing Beau to grapple onto his jacket. "Hey you," Edward couldn't look away if he wanted to, watching as Garrett bends down, pressing his lips to Bella's. He looks away, grimacing.

"Mr. Cullen," Garrett finally greets behind a chuckle as Beau started to play in his hair. Edward just smiles. "Garrett. I um, I should get going, I was just…" Edward trails off, staring at the three of them. "I know," Garrett interrupts. Edward looks back at Bella, her attention on Garrett and Beau, a look of love on her face, so deep that Edward knew that he was too late. He was too late the moment he lost her.

He didn't come there to win her heart. He was merely curious, but if he had the chance, he would. He looks at Beau now who was paying him no attention. "Do you want to stay?" Garrett offers, and Bella turns to Edward with a smile of her own. This was his invitation to meet his child. Make a connection. He shakes his head regretfully. "I have to get home…. goodbye Beau," Beau turns to him, his little face full of happiness.

With that, Edward turns away.

3 years later

Bella puts Beau to sleep, laying him in his bed, running her fingers through his brown curls. She turns on the night light, and closes the door behind her, chuckling at Garrett who was half naked by the door. "Well, hello," She quietly giggles, letting him pull her along and into the bedroom. She wraps her arms around his neck, sighing happily as he kisses down her face. "Garrett?" She whispers, smiling at his distracted hum. "I'm ready now," She breathes, quietly laughing as he rears back in excitement. "Are you sure?" He asks, searching her eyes and face.

She nods. "Yes. I'm ready for the forever you promised me," She whispers, tilting her head, exposing her neck to him. Garrett takes the time to memorize her in this very moment, laying her down on the bed. "Forever you shall have," He whispers against her neck, sealing their fate.
