Had this idea for "Eternal Flame" in mind for a while now, and I shall use it now. Enjoy what I have!

Do you remember, we were sitting there by the water?
You put your arm around me for the first time.
You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter.
You are the best thing that's ever been mine.

There were strings of lights around the trees that surrounded the perimeter of the majestic castle as Caroline rode in the carriage, sticking her head out occasionally to look at the splendor around her. Sighing, she returned to her position, playing with the hem of the white gown she was wearing. She had the receive the anonymous invitation when she returned home that afternoon and even though it didn't say who it was from, the blonde vampire knew who it was from. It was from Klaus Mikaelson himself. The delectable hybrid had been courting her for months, sending her flowers and his most works of art, as well as jewelry and dresses, including the one she was wearing now.

I don't know what Klaus has in mind tonight, she thought. But, I suppose I shall find out when I get to the castle.

It was another several minutes before the carriage arrived at its destination and the driver opened the door, helping her out. Once her feet were planted on the ground, Caroline thanked her driver and proceeded toward the grand entrance of the castle, looking around at the lights, as well as the decorations that adorned the inside. Knowing Klaus as she did, he probably had his servants make sure that the interior was well decorated for what he had planned, even if she didn't quite know what was yet.

As she continued to look around, Caroline sensed that she wasn't alone, as though someone was watching her. She didn't need to guess who it was, because she knew that Klaus was around here somewhere, keeping his distance until the right time. Even though she thought it was incredibly rude to keep one's guest waiting, Caroline decided not to let it bother her. After all, Klaus had his reasons for keeping her in suspense, because it would make the end result more satisfying that way.

Caroline saw that there was a magnificent spread set out on the table as she left the foyer and helped herself to some cocktail franks, having had some blood before leaving the house. She then took some champagne and sipped it. She then saw a card fall onto the table from out of nowhere. Raising a curious eyebrow, Caroline picked it up and saw her name written across the front in elegant cursive. Smiling, she opened it and read the message inside:

"Meet me in the ball room.

Fondly,

Klaus."

Smiling and shaking her head, Caroline did as the message instructed and went into the ball room, where Klaus was standing, his back to her. It reminded her of the scene in Titanic, where Jack gave Rose a message he had written with a pen he had borrowed from Molly Brown, telling her to meet him at the clock.

Before she could say anything, Klaus turned around and looked at her. He looked devastatingly handsome in the suit he was wearing. He approached her and lifted her hand, kissing her knuckles.

"I apologize for the secrecy, love."

Caroline smiled. "It's fine, I know you had your reasons."

"Thank you for coming tonight," he replied. "I had this all planned especially for us."

He then heard the opening melody from "Strangers in the Night" by Frank Sinatra starting to play and stepped back, holding his hand out to her. "Shall we dance?"

Caroline giggled and took his hand. "Yes, we shall."

That being said, Klaus led her out onto the dance floor and they danced to the music, enjoying the moment that was unfolding between them. As they continued to dance, Klaus twirled her and then pulled her back to him, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss that seemed to make the blonde vampire become dizzy with the emotions that were overtaking her at that moment. She returned his kiss and let the world as they knew it fall away.

Note: This recently came to me from out of nowhere and I wanted to include it. I'll be doing something for "Stolen Moments" as well. Enjoy, lovelies!
