It was another cold morning in Denver, Colorado as the snow continued to fall

In his home Lincoln was bench pressing in a one of the rooms he ha turned into a little gym her grinned his teeth as rested the baron the clamps that where holding it up and got up from the bench sat up got a towel and wiped the sweat off of his face. Lincoln sighed as he looked around he had two racks filled with dumbbells a treadmill

He would use this room in the morning and in the evening on the weekend he would use it for four hours straight Lincoln gets off of the bench with the towel around the back of his neck turns off the light an exits the room.

Elsewhere

Jacob had made himself a simple plate of scrambled eggs and a cup of orange juice as he takes his seat at a dinner table he looks at two empty spots the where covered in a light layer of dust they teenager sighed because it was sight that he would see every morning when he would wake up. the young man's attention was and alert on his phone he looks to see that the metro city buses where out of order due to amount of snow that fell last night. Jacob let out a groan of annoyance because this was his last day of school before winter break and that his birthday was tomorrow.

He looked at the clock and saw that it was seven thirty school started at eight o 'clock so he ate his food drank his juice got his back pack his coat and walked out of the house locking it with his key and began to make his way to school through the cold weather.

Lincoln had finished cleaning himself off he got out showered and gotten dressed for work on the right side of the shirt he wore had a patch that 'LL Auto Body'. He sighed as he grabbed his car keys " another day another dollar " Lincoln said as put on a winter coat and opened the front door and walked out he make his way to his car and gets in the front seat and starts the engine.

After letting it warm up for a little bit he backs out of the drive way and makes his way down the street as he drives he looks out of the windows to see that snow had pilled up " Guess it's gonna be just me today" Lincoln said as he continued to drive as he came to a stop light he looked to the right side of his window and saw a billboard that this Christmas Eve the Moon Goats Live from Coors Field.

This caused Lincoln to Let a growl " great just when I thought I found some peace they still find some way to annoy the hell out of me " Lincoln said as he continued to drive down the street as he drives down the street he see's a teenager wearing a winter coat with a pack back over his shoulders seeing this reminds Lincoln from something of his past.

A past he would much rather forget as he he pulled his car to the side of the road next to the teenager " Hey kid" Lincoln said to the Teenager getting there attention much to his surprise it was Jacob " Jacob what are you doing walking in this weather?" Lincoln asked him " I'm walking to school the buses are down today so I have to walk and my parents are out of town" Jacob said to Lincoln.

Hearing this brought back some memories that Lincoln didn't much care for " Hey put your bag in the back and get in I know where the high school" Lincoln said to Jacob.

At first Jacob was envious at first but then again he knows that it's better than walking in the snow " Alright " Jacob said as he placed his back pack in the back and sits in the front seat on the passenger side on puts on his seat belt " Alright let's get going" Jacob said as Lincoln continued to drive to the school

" So you have a ride home Jacob?" Lincoln asked him " Uh no sir I'm fine with walking though" Jacob said to him. " You say that now but then you end up getting the Flu" Lincoln said to Jacob. As the two where driving Lincoln decided to ask him a question " so if you don't mind me asking where are your folks ?" Lincoln asked him.

Jacob felt uncomfortable with that question " Hey look if you feel uncomfortable then don't worry about i was just asking because even though you a teen it still ain't right for you to be out here walking by yourself even in the snow" Lincoln said as he drove down the street. Jacob just sighed for a little bit and then opened his mouth

" My mom and Dad Are in Hawaii on a so called 'business trip' so it's just me again" Jacob said " again?" Lincoln asked him after hearing the end of Jacobs Sentence. " yeah they have been doing this for a while and in a way I'm still not used to it even though it's been going on for six years now" Jacob said this caught Lincoln's attention " What do you mean six years now?" Lincoln asked him.

Jacob took a deep breath and said " Today I'm turning six teen " Jacob said to Lincoln. Lincoln was silent for a minute as he began to gather his thoughts it didn't take him long to reach in to the in to the cup holder and took a piece of paper and wrote something on it and then handed it to Jacob.

" What is this?" Jacob asked him Lincoln who was still driving " that's my phone number know look I know that we don't really no each other but I know what it's like to be alone on your birthday so call me when you done with school so I can come and pick you up and take you some where to eat it's not a date it's called doing something nice for some one who's alone on the birthday trust me i know" Lincoln said

Jacob was surprised by this that a man who was a former Marine was willing to take him some where to eat for his birthday on his own time " uh thanks " Jacob said still surprised by this

" Don't mention it kid" Lincoln as he pulled up to the school seeing students siting standing talking laughing with friends. Jacob reaches into the back seat and grabs his back pack an opens the passenger door " Thanks for the and Thank you for offering to take me some where for my birthday" " Jacob said to Lincoln.

Lincoln chuckled a little bit and looked at Jacob " don't mention it kid now go have a good day of school " Lincoln said to the teen. Jacob nodded his head and closed the and walked towards the front entrance as Lincoln pulled away and made his way to his job.
