Hello and welcome back finally to Chapter 8 of Pokemon Delta Emerald. I've already started writing to the sequel of this story. I know it's been weeks since I've last posted so I'll give the simple reason for going missing. I've been busy with alot of family stuff and depression doesn't really help either. Anyways I'll be posting two chapters today and two tomorrow to make up for the weeks I've missed. Now more on the sequel to this story. It involves the battle frontier and that's all I can give so far. Anyways I won't hold you up any futher. Here's chapter eight of Pokemon Delta Emerald!
Ryan woke up as he looked over at the clock and saw it was twelve in the afternoon. He looked over at May's bed and saw she was missing. He wondered if she went off to train her pokémon for training. Ryan went and took a shower and got dressed as he wanted to find May and help her. He walked outside as he saw May training for her routine with Mawile. He sat down in front of her as she waved.
"Hey, I let you sleep in," May said.
"Thanks, I needed that... You still nervous?" Ryan asked.
"Yeah, but I think Mawile and I have gotten a lot closer so we'll definitely win. Right Mawile?" May asked.
Mawile nodded as it chirped a response. Ryan was impressed as Mawile was getting tougher and tougher. Ryan sat down and watched as May put Mawile through the ringer. Ryan was impressed by the training routine as Mawile was one tough pokémon. An hour passed as May had enough training for the morning.
"Come on Ryan we should get lunch. Mawile return," May said as she called back Mawile.
Mawile came back to its ball as she walked up to him and grabbed his hand. They walked off towards the market as they decided to stop by the local bakery there and order some lunch. They ordered their food and sat down as they decided to talk about yesterday.
"So, have you remembered anything about Yesterday?" May asked.
"No, I'm just a little creeped out about it to be honest," Ryan said.
"It was weird, but you composed yourself so well... It's like you tapped into a new power or something," May said.
"I just hope it doesn't happen in a gym battle. I want to remember my battles at least," Ryan laughed.
"Don't worry I think it's a onetime thing," May reassured.
Ryan nodded in agreement as he finished his sandwich. May finished hers as they decided to go explore the market. They went to stall after stall as they stopped at a jewelry stall. May saw a beautiful sapphire bracelet as she wanted it.
"Oh, how much for the bracelet," May asked.
Ryan noticed the glint in her eyes as she must have really wanted the bracelet.
"Five thousand," the stall owner said.
"Oh, shoot I guess I can't get then," May said sadly.
"Hold on I have enough," Ryan said.
Ryan pulled out five thousand poke dollars and paid for the bracelet. The man handed to him as Ryan put it on her hand.
"Ryan you didn't have to do that," May said.
Ryan kissed her as the stall owner watched with admiration as he enjoyed young couples.
"We're together right... You deserve the best," Ryan answered.
"Thanks... Let's go check out some of the other shops," May said.
Ryan nodded as May took his hand and dragged him through the stalls as they looked at the interesting selection of items from various regions of the world. Ryan hoped that one day he could visit those regions and beat there pokémon leagues but knew it would have to wait. He spent the rest of the day following May around as they eventually went back to the pokémon center earlier around eight at night and went to sleep as it would be a busy day tomorrow.

May woke up as she got dressed and took a shower for the contest this morning. She was nervous as she was shaking. She brushed her teeth and looked in the mirror. She was at least grateful the attire for the contest was casual, so she wore a tough looking sports outfit. She grabbed the outfit for Mawile as she opened the door and saw Ryan who was already dressed.
"Ah I see you as ready as I am," May said.
"Yeah, you ready to kill it out there," Ryan asked.
May nodded as she shook. Ryan hugged and kissed her on the cheek. May looked up into his orange eyes as she remembered the day he passed out from his powers.
"Well, we better get going before your late?" Ryan said.
May nodded as she followed him out into the pokémon center where many coordinators were eating breakfast. May saw her competitor Chaz who was the runner up in last year's grand idol competition losing to the current grand idol who was going to be judging today. Chaz walked up to her as she smiled.
"Ah May you choose your pokémon for the competition?" Chaz asked.
"Yes, I'll be using my Mawile," May responded.
"I see... Marcheire and I will definitely win this contest," Chaz boasted.
"Yeah, we'll see I guess," May said.
Chaz nodded as the rest of the people started to head to the backstage area for the contest competitors only. Ryan followed up until security stopped. He gave her a kiss as she kissed him back. They separated as Ryan looked into May's blue eyes.
"Good luck out there," Ryan whispered.
"I'll do my best," May said.
Ryan nodded as she walked away towards the back tent. Ryan hoped that she would be able to win this one as he didn't like seeing her dejected from losing. Ryan went to go call his mom on his cell phone really quick as she eventually answered the phone.
"Hey mom," Ryan said.
"Hey sweetie... where's that girlfriend of yours?" Darla asked.
"She's getting ready for the contest. I just wanted to call you to let you know I'm okay," Ryan said.
"Well, that's great honey. I can't wait until you come back to Petalburg. I'm coming up to watch your battle with dad," Darla said.
"Really?" Ryan asked shocked.
"You bet and don't tell dad but I'm secretly hoping you win," Darla joked.
"I won't your secret is safe with me," Ryan laughed.
"Well, you must be incredibly busy, so I'll let you go," Darla said.
"All right bye mom love you," Ryan said.
"Love you too sweetie," Darla said.
He hung up the call and put his phone in his pocket as he walked into the tent and bought a ticket. He took his seat as he watched the first round of the contest. He knew that May and Chaz had gotten first round byes due to May's finish in the last competition which ranked her fifth in the rankings. Chaz was number one in rankings so he got a bye as well. Ryan sat and watched as he was enthralled by the moves that the contestants were doing. Ryan knew that most of these contestants would get killed by the competition in the later rounds as they were too many. The tourney would start with a pre round due to how many people entered. Then the first round and the then the semifinals which May and Chaz already qualified for. Then the finals which were only with four people. Ryan was nervous but hopeful for May. He prayed for his lover as he wanted her to stress less. He just had to hope for her.

May prepped Mawile in the back as the first two rounds of the competition went smoothly. Chaz was in the other side of the bracket as he had already gone. He made it to the finals. May watched nervously as the announcer introduced the judges.
"Hello and welcome to the Slateport toughness contest! I'm here with my three judges which include Mr. Contesta!" the announcer introduced.
A man in a red suit with gray hair bowed towards the crowd as he waved. He sat back down as Lisia was up next.
"Next we have the marvelous Ms. Lisia the grand idol!" the announcer roared.
The crowd roared as they loved the grand idol and niece of the greatest coordinator and current Hoenn league champion. Lisia waved to her fans as she sat back down.
"And last our special guest judge is... Captain Stern of Stern shipyards!" the announcer yelled.
Mr. Stern took the mic as he decided to welcome everyone to the city. He coughed as everyone went silent.
"Hello and welcome to Slateport city. I hope you've enjoyed the amenities my city has to offer. We are excited to not only have everyone here but hope you've enjoyed our city. Now let's get onto the final semifinal match," Stern said.
The crowd cheered as he handed the mic back to the announcer who was ready to introduce the competitors.
"All right time to introduce the competitors for this round," the announcer said.
They four competitors stepped out onto the stage as May and her Mawile stepped out. Ryan cheered for May as he saw the outfit Mawile was in. Mawile was dressed in a blue sports outfit which matched May's outfit. Ryan was excited as the announcer introduced everyone finally introducing May.
"And from the small town of Littleroot we have May Birch with a sporty Mawile!" the announcer roared.
The crowd clapped as Ryan cheered for his girlfriend. Ryan looked over and saw a sulking Cyndi as he decided to not pay any attention to her as he continued to cheer for his girlfriend.
"Go May!" Ryan yelled.
May heard him as she waved back to him. Her and the other three contestants went back as they prepared for the first section of the semifinals. May was the favorite to win her bracket as she was the highest ranked seed in her bracket. One by one everyone did the traditional introduciton round where the judges rate the pokémon on their toughness factor. The three people went out as Ryan thought their choice of pokémon was weird for this contest. It was eventually May's turn as she walked out on stage and did her performance. Mawile walked around stage as she showed off her toughness to the judges. Lisia was impressed by the Mawile as she knew that the part fairy type pokémon was usually cute but May made it work somehow. May and Mawile finished as the judges decided their points. May went backstage and prepped Mawile for the talent round. May knew that Mawile had a superior boxing skill as she had been working with her Mawile on it.
"All right Mawile ready to show off your skills?" May asked.
"Maw!" it responded.
May was nervous but she knew she had nothing to worry at least in this round as a lot of the trainers were rookies like and ranked way lower. She just hoped she would reach the finals and use her newly acquired Pikachu in the finals.

Ryan watched as the third opponent used his Cascoon and showed off its moves. Ryan was unimpressed by the routine as it really didn't seem that tough. The announcer stepped on stage as he grabbed the mic.
"Well, that was Terry with his Cascoon. Give a round of applause for him!" the announcer roared.
The crowd clapped for him as he waved to the crowd and walked to the backstage of the tent. May was nervous as the set people rolled out a punching bag onto the stage.
"Next up is the fifth ranked coordinator! Here is the small town girl May Birch!" the announcer said.
May came out with Mawile as she looked up in the stands. She saw Ryan who gave her a thumbs up. May nodded as she turned to Mawile who stood in front of the punching bag.
"Mawile go!" May ordered.
Mawile began to punch and whack the bag as it wobbled at the intensity of the punches and kicks. Mawile eventually finished off with a final kick which made the bag explode into a million little pieces. Lisia was impressed by the act as she gave May a perfect score. They finished their judging as May and the rest of the semifinalist came out. Ryan was nervous as he hoped she would be moving on.
"All right the coordinator going to the final round is... with a perfect score is May Birch!" the announcer called out.
May was impressed but ready to go and beat Chaz for the ribbon. She needed to qualify for the finals in Ever Grande City. May shook hands with the judges as she went backstage. There was an two hour break as they wanted to do the finals in prime time at seven. The crowd dispersed for the break as Ryan met up with May.
"You did amazing!" Ryan said happily as he kissed her.
She kissed back as she heard a scoff. May turned around and saw her mortal enemy Cyndi.
"Get a room you two," Cyndi said in disgust.
"Shut up Cyndi," Chaz said as he approached May.
"Chaz what are you doing talking to the tom boy?" Cyndi asked.
"Remember who outranks you so I suggest you stop bothering her," Chaz swiftly said.
Cyndi sulked off in anger as she went to find someone else to bother. Chaz sighed as he hated her last year and still hated her now.
"Thanks Chaz you didn't have to do that," May thanked.
"You've proved your worth here. Just cause your different doesn't mean you deserve to get treated differently," Chaz said.
"Well, I guess I'll see you in the finals?" May said.
"You bet," Chaz said as he walked away.
Ryan stood their listening as he was glad the rest of the competitors were nice to her. May had definitely proved herself to them as she had worked so hard.
"May who will you be using for the finals?" Ryan asked.
"I think I'll use Pikachu... I have the outfit for her to wear and she can wrestle pretty well," May said.
"Wow pretty cool talent she has," Ryan said.
May nodded as they stopped at the pokémon center to eat. Eventually two hours passed as they went back to the backstage.
"Good luck," Ryan said.
May kissed him as she finally separated from him and went backstage. Ryan just hoped she would win against Chaz. He walked in and took his seat as the lights were on. He was excited for her as she was the favorite to beat Chaz. He prayed for her victory as he knew Chaz would be difficult.

May stood in the backstage as she dressed up her Pikachu for the contest. Her Pikachu was dressed in a wrestling outfit with a mask and everything. May adjusted her Pikachu just a little as Chaz came by to say hello with his Machoke.
"Hey May," Chaz said.
"Hello... I assume this is your famous Machoke I've heard about?" May asked.
"Yes, this is my beautiful Macherie," Chaz said.
May was intimidated by the tough pokémon as it was very tough looking. Pikachu looked at its competitor as Macherie grunted. Pikachu got scared and hid behind May. Chaz chuckled nervously as he didn't intend to do that. May waved goodbye as he was called to the stage. Chaz was up first as he showed off his Machoke. She posed showing off her muscles as May watched on the screen in the back as she was afraid that she didn't have enough to face off against him. He eventually finished his part as the other two finalists showed off their two pokémon as May wasn't worried about them. Finally they called out her name.
"And now from Littleroot we have May Birch!" the announcer called out.
May ran out and waved to the crowd as Pikachu jumped off her shoulder. Pikachu flexed its yellow muscles as Lisia was glad to see someone use the pokémon she was given many years ago. Pikachu made sure to be the center of attention as she was impressing the crowd with its flips. The timer ran out as Pikachu hopped back on May's shoulder. She waved to the crowd as they cheered for them. Chaz smiled as he saw the cute Pikachu on her shoulder.
"That was great May," Chaz said.
"Thanks Chaz," May said.
Chaz nodded as he heard his name called. He ran back out on stage as he showed off Machoke's talent which was lifting multiple objects with only one arm and balancing them. May silently cursed herself as Pikachu had a very similar act. She decided to not change it as it was already to late. Eventually the others went as May finally went out on stage. There were weights as Pikachu began to lift the weights. Many were impressed by the sheer weight Pikachu could lift as it was a lot for such a small pokémon. May was glad that the crowd was into it but worried what the judges thought of her performance. May and Pikachu finished as they ran off. The judges began to whisper among themselves as they determined a winner ten minutes later.
"All right will all finalists please join us on stage!" the announcer called.
They all filed out of the backstage and joined the announcer on the stage as they were ready to hear who won. May was nervous as she knew that Chaz would be a tough one to beat. Lisia stepped on stage as she had the results.
"This one was a close one, but we tallied the results," Lisia said.
The crowd and contestants waited for the announcement as the drums rolled. May was nervous that Chaz had won as it was pretty close.
"And the winner by one point... is Chaz and Macherie! Second place is May and her Pikachu," Lisia said.
May held her down as Pikachu nudged her in the neck. May took her second place ribbon as she hugged Lisia. Lisia decided to say something to May.
"Don't give up yet... you're almost close to winning," Lisia whispered.
May perked up as she felt good again. She lost to someone with respect and ranked up to number four for her performance. She walked off stage and went up to Chaz.
"Congrats looks like you'll be in the finals with Cyndi," May said.
"Don't worry I'm sure you'll win one. The next one is in Verdanturf Town," Chaz said.
May nodded as she walked outside with Pikachu. She decided to keep Pikachu out of its ball as it always would fuss when it came time to call it back. Ryan was outside as he hugged and kissed her. They separated as Ryan looked at her.
"You okay?" Ryan asked.
"I'm fine now that I'm with you," May said.
"Let's get some sleep then and we'll head out towards Mauville tomorrow," Ryan suggested.
May nodded as she was glad that she had a couple more chances to get to the finals. They went to their rooms and fell asleep quickly as May was happy.
