Digimon Tamers My Way
Chapter 5, A day in the life. Mastuki family craziness?:
Morning rose over Shinjuku. Ren, Kai, Jun, and Davis were treated to strange and in their opinion wierd sight that morning. Their uncle acting like a nut job. A complete and total nut job. First thing they see in the morning and it's got to be that.
Cookin' up some eggs
Frying them in a pan
Add a little cheddar
Cause I'm cheesy omlette man
The four were staring in shock. Takato walked in like this was completely normal and said, "Morning 'Cheesy Omlette Man' I take it the Packers won." Takehiro looks at his daughter. "Takato you know me better than that. If the Packers were playing there would be cinnamon rolls." The oven dinged and Takato chuckled, "What was the score?" Takehiro looked like an excited little kid on Christmas Day. "Fourty-six to fifty-eight in overtime." Takato nodded, "Good. Now pass the cinnamon rolls over this way." She looks at her cousins, "Are you guys gonna just stand there and stare at us or are you gonna eat breakfast?"
After breakfast and a very odd conversation Takato heads down stairs and sees her mom goofing off as well.

Ren said, "I don't even wanna know." And just left it that. Takato laughed. From how it sounded Ren felt a little better about living with his aunt and uncle for the next two years. Takato pulled Ren into a warm hug that reminded of him of when they were little. The two go back up to the apartment above the bakery hand in hand. Ren just cuddles into Takato's lap a serene smile on his face. Takato gives him this look that radiates love and starts singing to him. It was a song she would sing when she was little whenever any of her cousins would visit.

Ren was crying a bit. He missed this, just being around someone he loved not really doing anything. Takato wiped away his few tears and kissed his cheek. "I love you Ren. I always have and I always will cous. Never forget that." Takato said. Her voice filled with kindness and compassion.
Later in the day Takato takes her cousins around town so they know where things are. Along the way the spot a blonde boy betting harrassed. Takato yells, "Oi you idiots! Leve the kid alone!" The punks high tail it remembering the wailing the girl gave their gang leaders two weeks earlier. Takato walks up to the kid, "Are you alright?" The boy nods, "Yeah. I'm fine. Don't worry about it. My names Takeru Takaishi. My friends call me Tk. It's a pleasure to meet you um.." "Takato Matsuki. These are my cousins. Davis Motomiya, Jun Motomiya she's Davis's older sister, Ren Tobari, and Kai Urazoe. Their staying with my family for a little while." Just then a fog rolls in. Inside the fog is a small white bunny with moon markings. Ren brings up his D-Arc and scans it.
"Lunamon. Rookie level. Data type digimon. Her attacks are Lunar Claw, Tear Shot, and Lop-ear Ripple."
The bunny Lunamon sees Tk and bounces into his arms snuggling into his chest as a D-Arc with a silver base and a light blue trim appears. Tk's eyes widen in pure shock. "How? I...I thought the gate closed up for good three years ago. What about Patamon?" Takato shook her head. "Calm down I'll explain everything okay. Though I want to know how your first thought was about a Patamon."
Tk nods and she leads the group around a bit more before heading into work. Tk sees a Patamon but he knows that it isn't HIS Patamon. Yamaki looks at Tk and says, "Welome to the ranks kid. Takato is the Tamers leader so she's the one in charge of the entire Tamer unit. Any questions you ask her." Tk nods a little scared he's with a digimon in a government building. Tk looks at Takato and asks, "Will you please tell me what's going on?"
Takato just nodded, "About a month ago I found Rika, who was what HYPNOS called a rogue. She was attacking Henry and his partner Terriermon. I interfeared in the fight. Again." She said the last word while giving Rika a pointed look. Rika noticed, "Look I wasn't in the right mindset at the time. Will you please let it go. And don't start it Terriermon." Takato continued, "After Henry, Terriermon, and I went back to my house and we hung out. A blue metal card appeared and I scanned it through my card reader and it turned into my digivice which originally was red and white not red and purple. A week later there was a massive storm so Henry and I had to wait it out inside of a shed in Shinjuku park. That was I met Impmon. Then two weeks ago. A digimon named Angemon. And for the record he was NOT partnered. Attacked us, he claimed that Guilmon my virus-type partner was controling me and feeding on my life force. So he attempted to delete him. I stood in his way and the damn narrow minded idiot threw an attack at me. I was able to use my powers to close up my injury but I could barely even stand. Angemon was going to attack again but Impmon got in the way. He looked like he was going to be deleted, but I really didn't want my friend to die. Somehow he digivolved and my digivice changed to accomodate two digimon."
Tk asked, "Is there anything else I need to know?" Takato tells Henry to gather up the other new Tamers, and have them meet her in the conference room that Tommy showed everyone else the video in. He did so and by the end the newer Tamers were looking at their leader in a whole new way. Tk was the first to even speak. "Oh holy shit. Why? Why did it have to be you? It's just not fair." Ren was just sobbing. Davis hugged his knees to his chest. Jun was staring at her in utter disbelief. Kai was repeating, "No no no." over and over. Jaarin was quiet. Jeri, she was horrified.
Henry noticed the look on Takato's face. The rest of the HYPNOS staff were all present when Henry asked, "What are you keeping from us Takato?" She sighs but admits, "The entire time I was under Mesogog's control he would beat me. More often than not to the point where I was coughing up my own blood. But because of the healing powers that my dino gem gave me I was always fully healed by the next day." Ren asked slightly shaky, "How long was your tenure as an evil ranger anyhow cous?" Takato looked down, "Three months." The others stare at her in pure horror. She spent three months with that abusive bastard?
"That's messed up." Impmon says as he walks in. He gives a nod to Tk "Nice to see you again Tk. You've changed since the last time we met." Tk looks at Impmon real confused. "Have we met before?" Impmon looks to Takato as he feels her power coursing through him. He digivolves to Wizardmon. Tk looks at him in surprise and happiness.
He hugged the digimon in happiness, "Kari will be thrilled to find out your okay. Though I know I can't tell her yet. Maybe once we find out who our big bad is and defeat them. Maybe we can get together with Kari here in Shinjuku." Under his mask Wizardmon smiled, "I'd like that." Takato asks, "Any other questions?" Ren asks, "Can you teach us how to fight a digimon like you do?" At Ren's question everyone looks at Takato. Smirking she replies, "Sure thing. Though I will freely admit when it comes to training I can be a real bitch. Just to give you all a fair warning."
A month and half later the Tamers all realized that Takato wasn't joking. She was a real bitch when it came to training. They each had unlocked memories of a previous life and could call on the powers of said past life. Tk was one of the Virtue Knights. So was Davis. Tk was the Knight of Hope. Davis was the Knight of Miracles. Davis and Tk formed a strong bond of brotherhood since they were half brothers during the Silver Millenium and had become close during their time training together with the Royal Knights in the digital world. Their female counter parts had yet to be found. Sailor Hope and Sailor Miracles were two of the strongest senshi in the Virtue Senshi. The only one who was even stronger was the leader of the Virtue Senshi Sailor Stratus. As she had trained with the Ronin Warriors before working with the digimon.
That day the Tamers had just finished training for the day and were just hanging out in the lounge when a com link went active. "Takato? Takato can you hear me?" The Tamer of the Hazard looked at her Dino Bracelet stunned that it's communcation function was still active. "Yeah I can Dex. What's up?" The voice on the other line Dex spoke, "I need help. I'm on Edenoi and I'm out numbered." She glared at her bracelet. "I'm on my way." She called on the Time Gates and ran through the other Tamers and their digimon behind her "Are you guys nuts? You don't know what these creeps are." Henry replied, "You don't either. Besides we're a team. If our leader goes into battle we all do."
Arriving on Edenoi the Tamers were stunned. It was beautiful. They saw a man in grasshopper themed armor. Takato morphed as did Henry. The other girls had all transformed and the boys had their aura's glowing.
Their battle was intense but they won. After an exchange of stories and a feast for their victory the Digimon Tamers returned home. Tk asked, "Hey Takato what sort of missions did you go on during your tenure as Sailor Moon originally?" Takato had a far off look in her eyes, "Well I didn't really do anything like I do now days because there was usually some big battle I was involved with most days." Ren asked, "What was the most emotionally taxing for you?" At Ren's question she replied,
"It was during the time of the Heart Snatchers. The original Juptiter and I were working with the original Sailor Uranus and Neptune. We were investigating some claims of a strange woman who had kidnapped a child from the park in Shinonome and had taken him to the abandoned ware houses in Juuban District. Jupiter had found the little boy unconcious and strapped to a dentists chair. Uranus found that his heart crystal had been stolen. So I told Jupiter to unhook the kid while Uranus, Neptune, and myself went on a Daimon hunt. We found the 'monster of the day' and I got pretty pissed off. I used my 'Imperial Scepter Devastation' attack and Neptune got the crystal.
At the time Uranus and Neptune were searching for the remaining two talismans that held the power of the purity chalice. All they knew is the talismans would be within the pure heart crystals of humans. I honestly couldn't fault their logic but I talked to Sailor Pluto and she agreed to use her talisman to seperate the other talismans from the crystals so no one would have to die. After confirming that it wasn't one of the remaining talisman crystals we took the crystal back. When his crystal was returned, the little boy was in so much pain. It broke my heart. I used my Dino Powers for the first time since I moved to Japan the year before to heal him. When we asked what happened he said, 'That bad lady took me from the park and brought me to this place. She strapped me to the dentists chair and a monster came in. The monster hit me with a black beam that really hurt. I 'member seein a real shiny crystal before I um..' Neptune supplied the phrase. 'Passed out?' He replied, 'Yeah passed out. Next thing I 'member is wakin' up 'round all of you.' Good god that day had to be the most emotionally taxing day for me."
Kai asked, "What was the kids name?" Takato said, "Mikey Kudo." Ren decided to keep an eye on the kid when he was with his parents again.
The other took turns asking Takato all sorts of questions. Rika had a very interesting one, "Did you ever save the world in between the Sailor Scout gig and this?" Takato blushed a bit and a pair of white cat ears and a tail popped out. The tail had a bright pink ribbon tied on it with a silver bell. At the others shocked looks she had quickly explained, "Last year I went out for a little walk and some how I ended up getting the DNA of the Orimote Moutian Cat. A guy named Elliot came and told me all about the Cyniclons who were trying to take over earth. So me and four other girls were given the DNA of red data animals. We became Mew Mew Power." The other Tamers couldn't believe it. Davis asked in surprise, "The pink Mew Mew was you?!"
Takato replied, "Yes I was the pink one. Gods was that embarassing. I never want to get involved in that crap again! Elliot really humiliated all of us." The others were all laughing causing her tail and ears to bristle in anger. She really was like a cat. They thought it was adorable.
Tk asked, "What was your favorite thing about being a super hero?" Takato smiled, "Being able to protect people and save lives. That's the best thing I could ever do with my life." Tk nodded noticing a light in her eyes. The Tamers were just talking together and hanging out a voice over the intercom said, "Tk Takaishi, please come to the front of the building. Your mother is here." Tk got up and walked to the front of the building. "Hi mom." Nancy Takaishi asked, "What are you doing at a government building?" Tk looked at Yamaki who nodded. "Follow me and I'll explain everything."
He led her around the building introducing her to the staff. Finally he was at the section where the Tamers were operating. He walked into the lounge and said, "Everyone I'd like you all to meet my mom Nancy Takaishi. Mom I want you to meet the current digdestined team. Takato is the leader. Her second is Henry. Rika is her third. Then there is Kai, Ren, Jun, Davis, Jeri, Jaarin Henry's older sister, and I'm a Tamer too. I also want you to meet the digimon. Guilmon and Impmon are Takato's partners. Terriermon is Henry's partner. Renamon is Rika's partner. BlackGabumon is Ren's partner. Strabimon is Kai's partner. Flamemon is Jun's partner. Coronamon is Davis's partner. Leomon is Jeri's partner. The Patamon here is Jaarin's partner. And my current partner is Lunamon."
It took Nancy a moment. "I see. Will you all go to the Digital World soon?" Tk shrugs, "Depends on if we ever need to and if we can find a portal." Nancy had a couple of questions. "Why are you all working for the government?"
Takato spoke up, "It's for our protection. There's an organization called DATS. They are in the belief that the Digital World and the Human World should not interact with each other. Aside from the partners of their agents, they feel that all of the digimon should stay in their world. They believe digimon to be 'criminals' and are attempting to take over our world. Then again if what Fanglongmon tells me is true, I can't blame the digimon of the western sector for trying to leave. This King Drasil is a bastard from the rumors I've heard. Commander Sampson was originally a Silver Guardian. He was placed by Wes and Eric in DATS about three years ago. I get reports from him because I'm the Silver Guardians agent in Japan. From the reports I've gotten things are getting even worse. HYPNOS informed DATS that they have humans partnered to digimon they hired as well. The difference is that they have a seperate unit for them and that we are covert agents. So unless DATS was some how higher up in the food chain of the federal government, which it isn't. They won't know who we are, or that we even exist."
Nancy breached her last question, "Will Tk be safe?" Takato replied, "As safe as he can be in our line of work ma'am. I've been training with them so that they are able to defend themselves from digimon attacks. As well as from demons. The Tamers are all licensed demon hunters on top of it all." Nancy seems to accept the answers she was given. She wanted to ask Yamaki about what Tk's new job required. The two were deep in conversation when the alarms went off. A digital field just appeared and it was a Leormon. Tk offered to go along with Davis. The others were watching on a view screen.
Davis and Tk walked up and Davis said, "What are you doing here?" The Leormon said, "I'm trying to find someone. I heard a voice calling me. I just can't seem to find him." A boy who Davis recognised as Tagiru Akashi was walking down the street with his parents. The Leormon looked up and said, "There he is!" The Leormon pounced into Tagiru's arms. His parents were shocked. Especially when a D-Arc with a yellow base and orange trim appeared. Tk and Davis simply looked at each other and asked the Akashi's to come with them.
Arriving at HYPNOS the Akashi's were a little on edge. Tagiru was scared they were going to take away his new friend. He saw a woman talking with a man about a job the woman's son had with them. His own parents were ushered over to the man and they started asking questions. Tagiru was led to a lab where he was asked to give a man wearing white and green the device he had. Hestitantly he did. The man then placed it on a scanner. After a minute Tagiru was given the D-Arc back. Davis and Tk lead Tagiru to another section of the lab where he was given his own gear to use for work. After that they took Tagiru into the lounge, so he could meet the rest of the team.
Tagiru was a little shy but warmed up to them after a few minutes. Impmon had suggested a few of them sing a song or two. Takato knew that comment was directed toward her. So she complied.

She finished and everyone clapped but were also laughing cause her cat ears and tail popped out twitching happily the entire time she was singing. Tagiru laughed hard. "That was awesome." Everyone's families were there watching and giggling as well. Yamaki chuckled, "Never knew you were so funny most of the time Kitten." Yamaki's comment of 'Kitten' got everyone laughing even harder. Takato laughed too. It was warm and slightly purry. They kept asking for more. She blushed a little, but she agreed.

The others were all laughing when Ren and the others all joined in.

When the song finished everyone collapsed in utter laughter. Sure the Matsuki's were a trio of nut cases but they at least knew when decorum had to be dropped and fun was needed. They all agreed that the Matsuki's were a very fun family. Tagiru enjoyed being around these people. The Akashi's were really glad they didn't act all stuck up. And think they were better than everyone else.
