Hello everyone and welcome to chapter eleven of Pokemon Delta Emerald. I'm very excited to say that I'll be focusing a lot more time on writing new content for this series. I plan on doing every game in the core series and maybe some surprises if possible. This will be a universe that is connected and you'll understand once I finish this and post the planned battle frontier sequel. Anyways if you want to know more about what I have planned go follow my Tumblr that I have for these projects. Link is in my bio. Anyways enjoy the story and stay safe.
Ryan and May were halfway through the short Route 117 as they stopped by at the daycare to check out the daycare. After the brief visit with the daycare, they continued down the route. They encountered a seed looking pokémon. May decided to have him to her team as she sent out Tailow. Tailow used quick attack as it weakened the seed looking pokémon. May threw a poke ball as it shook three times and clicked. May had caught a Seedot as Tailow began to glow. It evolved into a bigger version of itself.
"Wow looks like I got two new pokémon in one battle," May said.
"Wow Swellow is a very pretty pokémon. Although Seedot is pretty neat too," Ryan said.
They continued down the route as they reached Verdanturf Town. The air was crisp and clear as the mountains were overlooking the small town. May thought it was the perfect setup to a festival as this one would be unique as it would be exclusively outdoors. May was excited as they checked into the pokémon center. May saw Chaz as he made his appearance for the media.
"Wow the air sure is beautiful here," Ryan said.
"No wonder Wally lives here with his uncle," May said.
Chaz turned around as he saw May with her curls down. He ran over to her as she looked at the blonde Chaz. Chaz hugged the young teen as Ryan went to go get a room for them.
"May you look absolutely marvelous with your hair," Chaz said.
"Thanks Chaz," May said.
Cyndi stepped as photographers took photos of what they considered a contender for the grand idol. She approached May as she sneered at May.
"Well, well looks like the tom boy showed up after all. What's this little rat doing here?" Cyndi mocked.
"Don't make fun of Pikachu!" May yelled as she clenched her teeth together.
"Why don't you go away Cyndi," Chaz said.
Cyndi crossed her arms as she walked off to do an interview with the news reporter. May looked at Chaz as she nodded for getting her off her back.
"Thanks Chaz," May said.
"No one should have to deal with that insufferable idiot," Chaz said.
Ryan came back as he wondered what May was yelling about. He saw Cyndi in the distance and assumed that she was the cause of the yell.
"Everything okay?" Ryan asked.
"Yeah, Chaz chased her away," May said.
Ryan nodded as they went to their room to drop off their stuff. May was hungry as her stomach growled loudly. Ryan looked over at her and laughed as he was pretty hungry himself.
"Let's get something to eat and visit Wally," Ryan suggested.
May nodded as she followed Ryan out of the room. She had Pikachu with her as she was perched on her shoulder.
"Pika!" Pikachu called out.
"Oh, you're excited for the contest, aren't you?" May asked.
"Pika Pika!" Pikachu said excited.
They walked the small town streets of Verdanturf as they approached Wally's house. They knocked on the door as Wally answered. Wally said hello as he let them in. The house was quaint matching the theme of the town as it was nice.
"Ah you'll join us for lunch then?" Wally's uncle asked.
"Yes sir," Ryan answered.
Ryan and May followed them to the dining room as Wally sat next to his cousin. His cousin had the same tea green hair as him as she wore a plain dress and black shoes. Wally decided to introduce them to his family.
"Guys this is Wanda my cousin. You've obviously met my uncle, and this is my aunt," Wally introduced.
"Nice to meet you I'm May," May said.
"And I'm her boyfriend Ryan," Ryan said.
Wanda was still sad that she couldn't see her boyfriend in Rustboro City. He was working on the Rusturf tunnels, but the project was cancelled. Wally's aunt brought out platter of food as they began to eat.
#
They finished eating lunch as Wanda looked dejected about something. Ryan noticed this as he decided to ask her what was up.
"Everything okay Wanda?" Ryan asked.
"Oh, I just love seeing two people in love with each other," Wanda said.
"You have someone don't you?" May asked.
"Yeah, but we're separated by a stupid tunnel. Riley has tried to dig his way here but has been stopped," Wanda said dejected.
Ryan had a crazy idea as he knew that maybe rock smash would come in handy as it was possible to fix this.
"What if we go to the tunnel and clear the path for you two to meet?" Ryan asked.
"That would be perfect but how would you do that?" Wanda asked.
"I have the rock smash HM. We could easily break any rock in the way."
"Let's not waste any time then."
Wanda got up as Ryan and May followed her to the tunnels. Wally decided to stay back as he was still recovering from his most recent asthma attack. Ryan and May followed Wanda inside the cave as they could see a young man trying his best to break the patch of rocks separating Rustboro and Verdanturf. Ryan called out his Zigzagoon.
"Zigzagoon use rock smash!" Ryan commanded.
Zigzagoon smashed the rock as they began to clear the cracked rocks one by one. They eventually made as the man in a construction outfit and black hair with a mustache ran to his girlfriend.
"Wanda we're back together after months of being apart," Riley said as he began to cry.
"I missed you so much Riley!" Wanda said as she kissed him.
Riley separated as he got down on one knee. May gasped as she saw the most beautiful proposal ever.
"Wanda these past few months have been hard without you, but I'm ready to go to the next stage of life. Will you be my wife?" Riley said.
"Of course, Riley!" Wanda said.
Riley picked her up and kissed her as May and Ryan clapped. Ryan looked at May as he wondered when he was going to propose to his sweetheart. Wanda hugged the two young teens as she was so thankful.
"Thanks for helping me," Wanda said as she had tears coming from her eyes.
"No problem Wanda," Ryan said.
"Let's get going we have a busy day tomorrow," May said.
Ryan nodded as he realized it was time for dinner. The exited the now complete tunnel and went their separate ways. May and Ryan sat down at a local cafe as they were excited about what just happened in the tunnel. Pikachu laid by May's foot as she put down a bowl food for her.
"Wow can you believe Riley proposed to Wanda?" Ryan asked shocked.
"I know it's crazy how love can be infectious," May said.
"Do you think we'll ever get married?" Ryan asked out loud.
May was taken back by the question as Ryan was silently cursing himself about the slip up. He thought he was rushing things to fast as he wondered if May would dislike him for the question.
"I would like to think we could be married someday. You could be the champion married to the grand idol. We would be a power couple," May joked.
Ryan laughed as they finished their food. Pikachu hopped on May's shoulder as they both walked back to the pokémon center holding hands. Ryan enjoyed the peace of Verdanturf as he loved the scenic mountains. They got out of the cool night breeze and went to their room as they fell asleep.

Ryan woke up at eight in the morning as he was glad to get a good night's sleep. He rolled over and saw that May wasn't in her bed. She was probably training as she was trying to win the contest. May had figured out the theme would be coolness as Ryan knew she was getting ready. She had a couple of days to train as the contest was this weekend. Ryan grabbed his phone as he called his mom who was busy making herself breakfast. She answered as Ryan came up on the video screen.
"Ryan, I heard from your dad that you got your third gym badge," Darla asked.
"You bet mom! It was an epic battle to say the least," Ryan said.
"We're so proud of you. Dad is really excited to fight you. I'll always be cheering for you," Darla said.
"Yeah... Hey mom I have a question?" Ryan asked.
Darla nodded as she wondered what could be on his mind. Darla hoped that everything was going well with May. There was a long pause as Ryan was afraid to ask this question.
"Go ahead Ryan," Darla said as she broke the silence.
"Mom how did you know you loved dad?" Ryan asked.
"Ryan I just went with my gut feeling... When the time is right, you'll know," Darla answered.
"Okay I just have feelings I've never had in my life for her. She makes me want to be a better person," Ryan explained.
Darla smiled as she worried that Ryan would be his usual pessimistic self if he traveled alone. Ryan was becoming a better person by dating May. He finally had a good relationship with his dad and was slowly starting to grow with his pokémon.
"Ryan love is only complicated if you make it. You just need to be open with her," Darla said.
Ryan nodded as he agreed with his mom. He knew that his mom was the right one to ask about this. He sighed as he felt relieved to get this off his chest.
"Well, I'll let you go, enjoy Verdanturf. I hear it's a very beautiful town," Darla said.
Ryan nodded as he waved goodbye to his mom. The call ended as he rolled over in his bed and got up. He went and took a shower and got dressed as he walked outside to find May training with Chaz. He knew Chaz was a nice guy as he was actually helping May out even though he didn't have to help.
"Hey guys," Ryan said.
"Well, hey Ryan how are you doing?" Chaz asked politely.
"I'm doing fine thank you," Ryan answered.
May ran over to Ryan as she kissed him on the cheek. Ryan felt the butterflies flutter in his stomach as he was nervous around her. May went back to training her Swellow and Pikachu for the contest as they heard a familiar cackle.
"That rat isn't going to do nothing at all!" Cyndi cackled.
May turned around and found the blonde haired girl mocking her best pokémon. Pikachu put its fists up like it wanted to fight.
"Pika Pika!" Pikachu said in anger.
"No Pikachu don't engage her. She's just trying to goad you," May calmly said.
"Well, you can't possibly win with those pokémon," Cyndi said.
"Back off Cyndi!" May yelled as she gritted her teeth.
Lisia noticed the arguing as she came in to break it up. She was mad that Cyndi kept taunting May.
"Enough before I disqualify you both!" Lisia yelled as she interjected.
They both shut their mouths quick as they didn't want to face the wrath of the current grand idol. May knew that Cyndi was being mean to her on purpose. She called back her pokémon as Pikachu jumped on her shoulder. She walked in the pokémon with Ryan in tow as Lisia looked at Cyndi.
"I don't want any more of the schoolyard taunts. Got it?" Lisia asked
"Yes ma'am," Cyndi said.
Lisia nodded as Cyndi stormed off angry that the grand idol had taken May's side. Lisia sighed as she never was the one for rivalries. She walked off to find some work to do on the special outdoor contest. Chaz went back to watch the stage being built. May was in her room as she decided to take a nap with Ryan. May was angry at herself as she never wanted to get on the bad side of the grand idol.
#
May woke up as she shook Ryan awake. Ryan groaned as Pikachu hopped onto him and woke him up. Ryan sighed as he finally got up after a bit of jumping from May's Pikachu.
"All right I'm getting up," Ryan laughed.
May giggled as she loved that her Pikachu was so playful with her boyfriend. Ryan got up and grabbed his bag. They stepped out into the pokémon center lobby as Pikachu hopped up on May's shoulder.
"Well let's eat some lunch," Ryan said.
May nodded as she saw a brunch cafe as she really craved some pancakes for lunch. May dragged Ryan along as he knew that she wanted some pancakes for lunch. Ryan saw a little girl crying along the way as they approached her.
"What's wrong little girl?" Ryan asked.
"I lost my Shroomish!" the little girl cried.
Ryan looked at May who nodded as they agreed to look for the Shroomish. They went to the restaurant and ordered take out as they eat their food quickly and went to look for the Shroomish. They looked all over town and eventually tracked it down to the town sign as they found it. They herded the pokémon back to the girl as she brightened up. She ran towards it as she saw her two heroes.
"Thank you so much mister! Here take this mysterious stone I found," the young girl said.
She pulled a mysterious shiny stone out as Ryan took it. He saw it was an orange stone with red and yellow markings inside it. He wondered what it was as it was mysterious indeed.
"Thanks," Ryan said.
"I'm just glad you found my pokémon," the girl said.
Ryan and May nodded as they decided to go to Rustboro and visit Mr. Stone. They went through the now complete Rusturf tunnel as they went back to Route 116 towards Rustboro City. They saw the same scientist who they had saved.
"Ah I see you completed the Rusturf tunnel?" the scientist asked.
"Yeah, I'm surprised you haven't completed yet. It was easy with my Zigzagoon with rock smash," Ryan said.
"Well, we disrupted the local Whismur, so we abandoned the project. We did have one lone man who continued to work on it however," the scientist said.
"Ah that must have been Riley then," May said.
They followed the researcher back to Rustboro as they were back in the hot city of Rustboro. They went in the Devon Corporation building as they went up in the elevator to Mr. Stone's office. They were greeted by the jolly man as he let them in.
"So how are you two doing?" Mr. Stone asked.
"We're doing great. In fact, I have this mysterious stone to show you," Ryan said.
"Oh, I love seeing mysterious stones," Mr. Stone said.
Ryan handed him the stone as Mr. Stone looked at the orange stone. He gasped as Ryan had acquired a rare stone.
"This here is a mega stone for a rare pokémon native to Kanto. It's a Pidgeotite for the pokémon Pidgeot," Mr. Stone said.
"A mega stone what's that?" May asked.
"It basically allows your pokémon to mega evolve if you have a key stone. It makes it more powerful than your average pokémon," Mr. Stone explained.
They both nodded as they were impressed about the explanation as they wondered when they would get a key stone that they could use. May noticed the time as it was almost eight at night.
"Well, we better get back to Verdanturf. I have a contest tomorrow," May said.
"Well good luck on your contest," Mr. Stone said.
They both nodded as they went in the elevator and headed back downstairs. They walked back to the tunnel as they saw Riley who was waiting for them.
"Hey Riley. What are you doing back here?" Ryan asked.
"I wanted to give you this for reuniting me with my fiancée," Riley said.
It was one of the mega stones as it looked very similar to the Pidgeotite. He looked at it as it was gray with the same marking as the stone that Ryan had expect a different color.
"That's a mega stone for an Aggron," Riley said.
"Thanks," Ryan said.
Riley nodded as they walked together towards Verdanturf. They eventually split and went their separate ways. They arrived back at the pokémon center and went to their rooms and changed to their sleep clothes and fell asleep.
#
Ryan woke up the next morning as he looked over at May as he saw she was still sleeping. He got up as he took a shower and got dressed and walked out to the pokémon center where he saw the flyer for the battle tent. He grabbed it and went back to his room to wake up May and tell her about the tent. May was missing as he heard the shower running. He woke up Pikachu who was still asleep on his owner's bed.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Hey buddy, how are you?" Ryan asked.
"Pika Pika," Pikachu answered.
Ryan nodded as he laid down as he waited for his girlfriend to get ready. She eventually came out with her light brown hair up and ready to go as she knew that Ryan had found something to do for the day.
"What's in your hand?" May asked.
"Well, I found they have another battle tent here. I was wondering if you wanted to go with me?" Ryan asked.
"Sure, I got nothing better to do today," May said.
Pikachu hopped on May's shoulder as she followed Ryan out of the room and to the pokémon center lobby. They walked outside in the cool fresh air as they saw the big tent. They walked in and saw Scott as he approached them.
"I see you got the Dynamo badge. Most impressive," Scott said.
"Yeah, I see you've been busy with the battle tents," Ryan said.
Scott nodded as he was impressed with how far Ryan had come. He had felt a different energy about him as he knew that he matured as a trainer.
"Well, you're welcomed to test the facility out and see how you fare with the other trainers," Scott said.
Ryan nodded as he went up to the desk and signed up three of his pokémon. He stepped into the battle grounds as he saw the stands were full of people from the town watching. He saw May sat down next to Lisia as he was glad it wasn't Cyndi. He focused on the battle as the trainer came out. May talked with Lisia as Ryan mopped the floor with the trainer.
"Wow you boyfriend is pretty good," Lisia said.
"Yeah, do you think he could beat your uncle?" May asked.
"I bet he could if he tries hard enough. My uncle is very good at both contests and battling. A very rare thing these days but nevertheless very cool," Lisia said.
May nodded as she knew she had to apologize for her behavior yesterday. She watched as Ryan faced his next opponent as she figured out what to say.
"Look about yesterday I'm sorry," May said.
Lisia smiled as she looked over at the young girl. May reminded her of herself when she was her age.
"I wasn't really mad at you, but you need to be careful around girls like her. She feeds off the negative attention you give her," Lisia said.
May breathed a sigh of relief as Ryan had finished his third battle and was ready to go. She shook Lisia's hand and went to Ryan. She kissed as Lisia watched the two with happiness. She was glad May had someone to love.
