Digimon Tamers My Way
Chapter 8: Tamer Girls Bonding:
Takato was leafing through some CD's trying to choose which ones to bring with her to Rika's sleepover. Granted most of them were her own songs she recorded and burned onto discs herself. She chose the Mulan 2 soundtrack, Teen Spirit, and the Play album. She also brought a mix of some of her favorite songs. Setting those aside Takato grabs her wallet and walks down to the store.
Walking through the isles Takato bumps into the last person she thought she would see. "Well if it isn't Duke Devlin. Never thought I'd see you in my neck of the woods. What brings you out my way man?" Duke looks up. "Oh my god. When Seto said there were strange creatures attacking Shinjuku, I should have known you would be here." Takato laughs. "Yeah well battling evil creatures is my job. Quite literally now days. I'm a government employed Demon Huntress. How's Joey and Yugi been lately?" "Joey is spazzing from having to hide from her fan boys. Same with Yugi. Poor girls. How have you been?" Takato shrugs, "Same old. Go to school, work on my music, and fight evil psychos trying to cause another disaster. The usual." Duke nods. "What's with the junk food?" Takato giggles at one of her god brothers. "A friend of mine invited me to a sleepover tonight so I thought to bring some snacks with me tonight."
Duke and Takato bid each other farewell. She is walking down the street when she sees yet another god sibling. "Hey Takato. You have time to help me out on a job?" She shoves her purchases in subspace. "Sure thing Max." The Mighty One and Senshi Moon go through the portal and she spies Virgil and Norman. The Lemurian asks, "Why is it when we are having trouble you bring in your god sister?" Max chuckles, "Takato can win battles that others can't Virge. She's an enigma for the villians." Between Max and Takato the villian of the week is defeated. So Takato returns to Shinjuku.
Takato is just wandering when she senses a nasty aura before using the Luna Pen to change her appearance.
Arriving at the location she silently curses. She knew that they would expect a Sailor Scout. She didn't know how to fight that way unless...she brings out the silver crystal and whispers, "Shine arcoss the horizon, Light of Hope." In a burst of white light Takato stood in a new form. She had a white tank top that was only a half shirt, a pair of white kapris, a silver tie belt, white running shoes, transparant silver fairy wings, a white ribbon choker with a silver teardrop charm and a white stone, a single silver cresent moon barrette with a white stone, and silver bracelet's. Her hair was now snowy white and her eyes were a real pretty light ice blue almost silver.
In her new form she was making fast work of the grunts before taking out the youma. Returning to normal she bid Davis goodbye for now before heading to buy a few more things. Takato was passing by the arcade when she found a lonely looking kid. She walked up to him and asked, "Are you okay?" The boy was dressed in green and white. He had brown hair and green eyes. "Yes. I just wish my older brother was around more."
Takato says, "I'm Takato Matsuki. Whao are you?" The boy says, "I'm Tommy Himi." Takato and Tommy are spending time with each other, when his parents run up and start coddling him both trying to keep Takato away. A local shop owner tells them that Takato is a shining light in their community since she always looks out for others. As well as the fact she's a demon hunter so even if they were attacked she could protect their son.
After an apology on the Himi's part Tommy goes home with his parents. Takato even promising to stay in touch.
Takato heads home and is listening to the pounding beat of Moondance by Nightwish.
A few hours later Takato with everything she bought and packed up for the night walked up to Rika's front door. Rika's mom was stunned for a moment at the girls in her house but remembered Rika was having a sleepover. Rika was quite the hostess. Laughter was heard as the girls talked about the funny things their families did when they were growing up. "I'm not kidding guys. Back when my family still lived in Reefside my dad really did do that." Takato said while laughing. Jaarin asked, "What reason could the man possibly have to dress up in a ballerina costume and sing and dance to Aqua's Barbie Girl?"
Takato snickered, "During homecoming week for SGA there were always massive prank wars between the staff and the students. Almost always the staff out pranked the students. But one year we managed to win a bet to where every one of the male teachers had to dress up like ballerina's and sing and dance to We're Men In Tights from the movie Robin Hood: Men In Tights." Takato's statement got all the girls laughing. It got worse when she played the video.
The girls stopped gosiping about their pasts and started on the school gossip. Takato actually brought out something that really shocked them, "Hey Kazu told me his cousin from Odaiba is gonna be staying with his family for a while." Rika wide eyed asked, "Why is everything alright with his aunt and uncle?" Takato shrugged and said, "Not too sure on that. But one thing I do know is when his cousin was little his sister was sickly for most of her life and when he took her to the park for some fresh air she got really sick. So from what I get out of it, rather than realise she was at fault for leaving a small child responsible for another little kid his mother ignored his existance except when he was in trouble. He comes to his aunt and uncle for all of his acomplishments not his parents. He makes the honor role and won several community hero awards for volunteering at a childrens shelter. As well as when he was our age Rika and saved a five year old girl when firefighters couldn't reach her."
The girls were murderous. So was Rumiko. Since the whole truth came out about digimon, the girls being sailor scouts, and Takato's whole history basically the Tamers parents formed a tight knit group. Each of them traded numbers. Kazu's cousin may not be a Tamer but the Digital World was a real eye opener for the parents. It helped them have a strong relationship with the children and brought them closer as families. The Tamers were exactly that family. The kids were all extremely close for a group of mostly twelve year olds. The girls decided to go down to the nearest gas station for a snack attack. The girl when they were walking down to the store saw Kazu.
"Hey Kazu. What's wrong?" Rika asked. Kazu looked up. "Oh. Hi Rika. My mom is so pissed at my Aunt Yuuko. She...she was yelling at my cousin Tai. It was stuff like he was an idiot and there was every chance he would never achieve anything aside from being an airheaded jock. He'd be stuck in a low paying job for the rest of his life living on his own. The pain in his eyes was heart breaking." Kazu cried slightly. Rika pulled him into a comforting hug. "I know Kazu. I know. Just let it out." Kazu curled up in Rika's hug sobbing. Takato looked pissed. She was growling slightly. Kazu asked, "What's with Takato?" Jeri replied, "She's protective. It's the Sailor Scout in her. She has the instinct to protect others. Even if she's never met them."
After a few moments the girls split off from Kazu. They got their snacks and were goofing off in the park. Takato laughed warmly. "What's so funny Takato?" Jaarin asked. Takato replied, "It's just looking at how close we are now. I never thought I'd be friends with you guys last year. I mean, I was always a social outcast in Juuban since I went to private school and was wicked smart. Everyone called me a freak. So I'm really greatful for the friends.." She shook her head, "the family I have with the Tamers." The girls all hugged in one massive group hug.
Once the girls were back home Takato got this blank look in her eyes. She opened her mouth and started singing.

Rika asked, "Who are Power Rangers Dino Charge?" Takato shrugs, "No idea. Maybe their a future ranger team. My power do that from time to time. I predicted the Jungle Fury Rangers the same way a few years back."
