Chapter 9: Blaze Forward! The Tamer Of Courage:
Taichi 'Tai' Kamiya sighed as he was told he was being sent to live with his aunt and uncle in Shinjuku. It shouldn't surprise him at all. His parents basically ignored him. He went to his Aunt Takako and Uncle Kurogane Shioda for his accomplishments. Even when he saved a five year old girl from a burning building his parents yelled at him for being reckless and almost getting himself killed. It was like that ever since he took Kari to the park to play. She was sickly as a child. Tai figured it was because their parents never let her go out and play. When he did she got sick and his mom said it was his fault and he should have been more responsible. Aunt Takako came in and when she heard everything his mother said she started in on his mom.
"How dare you say that crap Yuuko. You'll be lucky if Kurogane and I don't sue for custody. All of my son's friends and their parents know about this crap. His closest friend Takato Matsuki works for the government as a demon hunter and she is an agent of the Silver Guardians. If I hear any of this crap is worse than psychological abuse I will insist she act in defense of my nephew and arrest you. Tai can do anything he sets his mind to. He's smart and brave. He's the sort of person who'd make an excellent leader. Tai go grab the rest of your bags and head out with your uncle. Your mother needs to learn what happens when you emotionally hurt a child." Tai nods surprised an adult is sticking up for him. Once he has his duffle bag and his back pack along with his laptop and cell phone which his uncle paid for he goes to his uncle car. His uncle ruffles his hair and twenty minutes later the three are driving to Shinjuku.
An hour and a half later Tai is finished unpacking and is walking around Shinjuku with his cousin. A fog appears as Tai finds two digimon in it one is a Bearmon. The other is a Guardromon. Two devices which Tai realizes is a different model of digivice appears when Bearmon walks over to him and Guardromon walks up to Kazu. Kazu's is bronze and white. His is a red base with orange trim. A girl Kazu identifies as Takato and a boy he knows is Davis Motomiya walks into the fog. The girl Takato says, "How many Tamers are gonna be called before we fight our big bad?" Davis shrugs, "Don't know cous. We better bring these two into HQ so they can find out what's going on."
Tai, Kazu, and their digimon walk into the government building. Mr. and Mrs. Shioda already there getting the low down from some of the other parents. When they saw the video detailing the legacy they inherited they were gob smacked. Tai looked at Takato who Yamaki said was team leader. "You are the perfect leader if even when you contemplated suicide rose above it and helped save the world. I would gladly follow you Takato." Kazu nodded, "I will too Takato. Your kind, brave, strong, and compassionate. The best qualities for a leader." Takato nodded, "Thanks guys. It's gonna take all of us to beat whoever or whatever this big bad is."
Tai was enjoying his time with the Tamers. He and Jun walked to school every day and he even became close to a girl named Vida Rocca who was an exchange student. Tai recognized her as the pink Mystic Ranger. When he confronted her at lunch on the roof the two instantly became friends. Even planning a date that same weekend.
That Saturday Tai was dressed in an orange t-shirt, blue jeans, and brown boots. His goggles were around his neck. Vida was dressed in a pink t-shirt, blue jeans, and black boots. She had her bangs colored pink like normal. The two went to a movie and to a local restaurant for lunch. The two saw Takato and Henry out together. "Hey you two. What are you guys doing together?" Tai asked. Henry blushed. "I asked Takato out on a date. She accepted and well we've had some fun on it so far."
The four hang out before another fog appears. This one holding a pair of female digimon one being a fairy girl and the other being a nymph. The nymph claims that the fairy girl would never have the same love as she would and that by getting deleted would do the digital world a lot of good. Vida hearing that and noting Tai's pain in his eyes walks over and promptly punched the nymph girl in the face. The fairy girl smacks a high five with Vida and says, "I'm Kazemon. Nice to meet you." Vida smiles, "Names Vida Rocca. I'm the Pink Mystic Force Power Ranger. Likewise Kazemon." A Digivice with a pink base and light purple trim appears in front of Vida. "Cool." Bearmon is by Tai in seconds as a third digimon appears Mercurymon. He said, "Seems thy battle doth come to a double team milady. Doth thou require my aid to deal with the male warrior?" Tai and Vida ask the digimon, "Did he really just speak Shakespearian English?" Kazemon sighed, "With him it's a normal thing." Vida morphs and alongside Kazemon takes down the nymph girl who the D-arc referred to as Ranamon. Tai and Bearmon were having a little trouble with Mercurymon. Though when Tai gave Bearmon the idea to break Mercurymon's mirrors did they win with Bearmon gaining the ability to digivolve to Grizzlymon.
Kazemon and Bearmon watch as the Tamers train. Kazemon is thrilled to see her partners wind powers more. She starts showing Vida some of her moves such as Tempest Twist. Vida catching on quickly. Tai watching in joy at the girl he became so close to in such a short amount of time. When training ended for the day Tai caught Vida on her own. "Vida will you be my girlfriend?" Vida smiled, "Of course Tai. The last guy I dated wasn't right for me. But he kept persisting and my best friend Chip Thorn chased him off. He's the yellow in our group." Tai gave Vida a kiss on the lips and she returned it. Tai saw Henry and Takato. All the Tamers watched the scene unfold. "Takato, I know we've gone on a few dates together. But, will you be my girlfriend? Just because we were a couple during the Silver Millennium doesn't mean we should let past feelings control our choices in this life. I'm just hoping that we could have a chance." Takato smiled, "Of course I'll be your girlfriend Henry. I've been hoping you'd ask for some time now."
A transmission from a digimon named Sorcerymon came over their D-arcs. He was at the HYPNOS building sent there by the Three Great Angels. The group of Tamers ran there. Once everyone was settled they found Kenta and his parents along with a MarineAngemon. The Sorcerymon began the story of the Digital Worlds history as he knew. Of course Takato explained all about how the Virtue Senshi protected the Digital World before the history Sorcerymon knew was ever recorded.
"During the time of the Silver Millennium, there was a treaty between the Silver Alliance and the Digital World. Its god Yggdrasil created twelve Sailor Scout henshin items and he chose twelve girls to become the Virtue Senshi. Eleven of them took after a Crest of Virtue but the leader Sailor Stratus was the one who represented Harmony and Balance. She was given the title of the High Princess of the entire Digital World. The Sovereigns aside from Fanglongmon had different relationships with her. Ebonwumon and Baihumon were on netrual terms with her. It was a 'you don't screw with me. I don't screw with you' sort of deal. She totally hated Zhuquiaomon simply because he allowed digimon to delete or eradicate each other for his own entertainment. He also hates humans and believe that digimon should rule over humans. Azulongmon she hated because he lets his charges believe that light is good and darkness is evil. During the time of the Virtue Senshi's rule of the Digital World there wasn't much war there. Each of the Senshi lived in a palace that over saw certian classes of digimon. For example Sailor Friendship over saw wolf digimon and digimon who were asociated with lightning. Her powers would create the Crest of Friendship. Princess Marina of Mercury was a very protective person. She was one of the few Mercurians who balanced themselves out.
Sailor Courage over saw fire digimon and dinosaur and dragon digimon. Her powers created the Crest of Courage. Princess Elizabeth of Mars was a powerful warrior in her own right. She worked long and hard to put the mindset of a true warrior knows when to set down the sword and show kindness. Sailor Love was Sailor Courage's sister. The girls were half Venusian but it shown more in Sailor Love. Her domain was bird digimon and the element of wind. She listened to all opinions before making a decision. Princess Patricia of Venus was a firm believer in there was good in everyone who wished for a second chance to prove themselves. Sailor Hope was one of the ones who over saw angel digimon as well as digimon of darkness. She knew that Hope itself was a light in the darkness. Princess Kisana of the Moon was a real sweetheart. Her powers created the Crest of Hope. Sailor Kindness was a loner but like her title suggests was the single most kindest person ever. She looked over digimon who wanted to prove they were good despite their attribute saying differently. She mostly had virus types as her subjects. She would often help out others in her kingdom. Her powers created the Crest of Kindness. Sailor Light was a true and noble warrior. She was a real gentle person but was a fierce and protective princess. Princess Callista of Light Haven was the first of said realm to be chosen as a Senshi. Followed by Princess Marianna who was Sailor Helios of the Mythos Senshi. Callista like her twin sister Marianna was a soldier who did her duty above and beyond what anyone expected. Callista's powers created the Crest of Light. Sailor Sincerity was the one who over saw the plant digimon and the ones who worked with wood. Princess Miranda of Jupiter was strong and always honest. Her powers created the Crest of Sincerity.
Sailor Knowledge was a very intelligent senshi despite not being Mercurian. She was a take no prisoners kind of girl. She over saw cyborg digimon. As well as the digimon whose element was earth. Princess Lucia of Saturn always looked out for others despite the odds being against her. Her powers created the Crest of Knowledge. Sailor Reliability was a goof friend and always looked out for those she was tasked with protecting. She over saw animal digimon save for wolves and lions. She also over saw water element digimon. Princess Crysta of Neptune was an honest and caring ruler. Her powers created the Crest of Reliability. Sailor Faith was a unique case she watched over the younger digimon and the ones who were believed to never amount to being the future heroes of the Digital World. In fact her elites were the Ten Legendary Warriors themselves. As she raised them personally and trained them. Her powers created something special. The eleven armor digi eggs. Each that represented their own crest. She also created the Crest of Faith. Princess Dawn of the Aroura system was a very fun and energetic young lady. She stood up for what she believed in and always stuck up for a friend. Sailor Miracles was an enigma. For many years no one knew where she came from. However, six months prior to the fall we found out. She was Princess Lucinda of the Eternal Realm. She was one of the more powerful senshi since she was the one who was the original keeper of the Golden Radiance. The power of Miracles. She granted it to Prince Daisuke of the Sun or Miracle Knight. The two worked together very well. Each princess choosing a knight to aid them. Sailor Miracles' powers to create the Crest of Miracles. However the crests of Miracles, Kindness, and Faith were hidden with the true Crests of Virtue. They were hidden in Zhuquiaomon's sector. Only the keeper of Miracles can retrieve them." The others were stunned at Takato's lecture on the Virtue Senshi. The digimon only ever knew of the Virtue Senshi as The Twelve Legendary Soldiers.
Sorcerymon went on ahead and brought out a box that held strange symbols on pendants. He said, "These are runes that are like the Crests of Virtue. The symbols used for the Crests of Courage, Hope, Friendship, Light, and Miracles were the symbols chosen for the Virtue Crests created by the digital guardians since they couldn't find the true crests. Takato is the Tamer of the Hazard." Takato accepted the pendant that held the Rune of the Hazard. "Henry is the Tamer of Reason." Henry accepted his pendant. "Rika is the Tamer of Compassion." Rika nodded and accepted hers. "Kazu is the Tamer of Balance." Kazu gave a brief nod. "Kenta is the Tamer of Empathy." Kenta accepted his pendant with a warm smile. "Jun is the Tamer of Emotion." Jun nodded and accepted her pendant. "Tk is the Tamer of Hope." Tk gave a nod and accepted his pendant. "Jeri is the Tamer of Justice." Jeri gave a thumbs up as she took her pendant. "Jaarin is the Tamer of Friendship." Jaarin smiled as she was given her pendant. "Tagiru is the Tamer of Determination." Tagiru grinned as he accepted his pendant. "Ren is the Armageddon Tamer. Because he is strong and would cause mass destruction to the enemy forces before hurting an innocent." Ren nodded and was given his pendant. "Tai is the Tamer of Courage" Tai saluted as he accepted his pendant. "Davis is the Tamer of Miracles. The new Keeper of the Golden Radiance." Davis bowed as he accepted his pendant. "Kai is the Tamer of Light." Kai smiled as he accepted his pendant. "Finally, Miss Vida is the Tamer of Loyalty." Vida smiled as she accepted her pendant.
Kai asked, "Why are there still six more?" Sorcerymon said, "That is because there are still six Tamers left to find. The Tamer of Innocence. The Tamer of Bonds. The Legendary Tamer. The Tamer of Kindness. The Tamer of Honesty. And the Tamer of Darkness." The alarms blare through the base as the Tamers all see the last thing they expected two devas. An ox and a rabbit. Only the rabbit is protecting a little girl. Henry and Jaarin's little sister Suzie.
At the battle sight Suzie is whimpering as her mom and older brother are trying and failing to hold the nearly nine year old girl back. "Antylamon don't give up. I know you can win." The ox deva said, "I would love to see you try to help her little girl." Suzie growled as she twisted out of her mom and big brothers hold. She glowed silver as a familiar mark appeared on her brow. The symbol of Faith! This child was one of the Twelve Legendary Soldiers? A wand like the other scouts appeared in her hand. "Faith Virtue Power!" In a flash of light there stood Sailor Faith. She wore a pale pink bodice, silver skirt, a silver sailor collar with two pink lines, Pink bows, Back bow see through at super length, pink bubble sleeves, a silver tiara with a pink star stone, a silver choker with a pink star ornament, silver Uranus style boots, a silver and pink sword similar to Uranus' space sword, silver star earrings, white gloves with pink trim and silver bracers over the gloves. She also looked at least five, six years older. Suzie strode forward as the ox deva attempted to kill her with his Deva Blade attack which she sliced in half with her own sword.
"Faith stardust cyclone!" A massive cyclone of silver energy hit the ox Deva. Truth be told the sovereigns didn't know how powerful the Virtue Senshi were. Sailor Stratus or Princess Adrianna of the Moon was a demanding taskmaster. She was brutal but she got the job done. Antylamon and Sailor Faith/Suzie stood together ready for battle. "Faith Virtue Breaker!" "Bunny Blades!" The silver energy wave and the axe blades combined to delete the ox deva for good. Suzie powered down as Antylamon de-digivolved to Lopmon. A D-arc that was a white base with pink trim appeared in front of Suzie. She said softly without the lilt in her voice, "I guess this means we're partners now Lopmon." Lopmon nodded. She asked, "Why don't you have that lilt in your voice anymore Suzie?" Suzie sighed, "I remembered my past for well over a year and a half. I was waiting for the ENAIC to dub me ready to protect the two worlds again. Or for the princess to come out of her retirement. The latter came first. But I'm not going to complain. It's high time someone showed that overgrown flaming chicken why the Virtue Senshi were the ones who ruled the entire Digital World during the Silver Millennium. I might not know where my commander Sailor Stratus is but I will do every damn thing in my power to protect the Digital World."
Suzie was led to Hypnos where she was met with quite a few surprised reactions. Suzie was revealed to be the Tamer of Innocence. Once she saw the legacy video she kneeled before Takato, "Princess Serenity, I will do everything I can to help you protect the two worlds. This I swear as the Virtue Senshi of Faith and on my soul in this and every life I have so mote it be." A silver glow appeared around her as Takato said, "I accept."
