"Okay Ophelia , time to go" said Ophelia looking in the mirror
She was wearing a black turtleneck shirt with a purple gem like button on the base of the neck ,purple pants and a bag over her shoulder
She took a deep breath and walked to the door of her room
"Let's do this" said Ophelia walking out of her room
Then she stealthily walked around the Blight mansion
Walking towards the front door
Then as she finally reached the door
"Ophelia , where are you going?" Asked someone with a female voice
Ophelia felt a chill go down her spine
"Uh Mom! what're you doing here ,I thought you_" said Ophelia before Odalia cut her off
"Don't dodge my question Ophelia" said Odalia frowning
"I'm going to uh, uhh" stuttered Ophelia "the library , I need a book from there"
"Is that where you've been going to all this time?" Asked Odalia
Hearing this Ophelia's heart sank , she messed up!
"Uhh yeah , I usually just read there , but today I'm borrowing a book from there" said Ophelia nervously
"I see , carry on then" said Odalia as she turned around to leave
Ophelia let out a breath she didn't know she was holding
She walked out of the door and left the mansion
Ophelia thought about where she messed up
And she realized something
She was way too organized , even her mysterious trips were always on the exact same time
And she barely leaves the mansion for things other than school or coventions
"I'll think about it later" said Ophelia before pulling out a black robe with a hood
After she put it on she walked towards her destination
It was a sweets store
That's where Ophelia was headed
It may look very dumb and unneeded to hide such a thing
But Ophelia didn't want her mom knowing anything about her, even what kind of sweets she liked
Because she was afraid of what her mom would do with that slight bit of information
And the sweets she got were like a savior to her
The stress from School ,her mom, constantly paying attention to her surroundings, the glares she gets from certain people , Ed and Em
The only thing helping her through that was Amity , the good witch Azura books and these sweets
Of course she didn't overeat and she works out , so she's sure no one knows a thing
It was worth it , and it was the reason she messed up with that boy
She had a stressful , horrible few days , and when she went to grab her stress relief
It was sold out , her favorites were sold out
And she , having nothing to rely on to forget her troubles
She collapsed , she cried and complained to the air , about everything , she yelled about it
Thinking she was alone in that alleyway
But HE saw and heard her , he knew who she was
She disappeared , she used her magic to leave as fast as possible without being seen
And when she went back to her room , she continued crying , she not only had to deal with her stress , but she also had to deal with the fear of the boy telling anyone
And now that store was closed due to boiling rain
"Not again" Yelled Ophelia frustrated as she saw the closed sign
Then the rain began
Ophelia didn't care that much about the rain
She drew a circle in the air and a spirit
The spirit made a barrier to protect Ophelia per her request
"Darn , again?!" Said a boy standing in front of the store
The same boy from before holding a completely orange umbrella made of magic (imagine clothes like Edric's but different colors)
"You!" They both said
"Ugh , I don't have the patience for this!" Said Ophelia angrily before walking away
"Oh come on! What did I do?!" Yelled the boy
"Nothing! Just leave me alone!" Said Ophelia angrily
"Good!" Yelled the boy "I don't wanna see you either!"
"Wow! I'm so insulted!" Said Ophelia in an annoyed tone
*Loud roar*
"What was that?" Asked Ophelia
"I have no idea" said the boy in fear
Then the ground shook and Ophelia looked behind the boy
And saw a giant demon
(It looks like a big armadillo lizard (yes that's an actual lizard))
The demon curled in a ball and charged at the boy
"Look out!" Yelled Ophelia before getting out of the way
The boy looked behind him and barely dodged in time
"What was that?!" Asked Ophelia in a panic
"I don't know!" Yelled the boy
The demon turned uncurled itself before turning around and curling itself again
And then it charged again
"Well let's not stay to find out!" Said Ophelia and the two ran
They hid in a dark narrow alleyway where the demon wouldn't fit
"At least it can't get to us here" said Ophelia sighing in relief
"Yeah , we just have to wait for the rain to end" said the boy "so do you wanna talk while we wait? My name's Clement by the way"
"Is that all that's going on in your mind right now?" Asked Ophelia in an annoyed tone "we're stuck here until it stops raining , stop being so optimistic!"
"Okay! Okay!" Said Clement "why are you so difficult?!"
"Because you're being way too laid back right now!" said Ophelia angrily
"So you wanna freak out and yell!" Said Clement angrily
"No I want silence! Not your constant buddy buddy requests!" Yelled Ophelia
*Tiny cries*
"Shh , do you hear that?" Asked Clement seriously
"Don't shush me!" Said Ophelia angrily "and yes I hear it!"
They looked at where the cries were coming from
It was a tiny demon , a baby , it looked like a cat
It was hiding from the rain under a rock
Clement was about to go help the creature
But
"Wait! Something's not right here" said Ophelia narrowing her eyes and pulling Clement back after opening a hole in her barrier
"What do you mean something's not right?! It needs help" said Clement angrily before running off with his magic made umbrella
"Urgh , that idiot!" Said Ophelia angrily before running after him
Clement ran into the rain and held the creature
"It's oka_" said Clement warmly before getting cut off By one of Ophelia's spirits knocking him away , the creature slipped from his arms
And the armored beast rammed where Clement was
Ophelia ran to where Clement is
"Thanks for that" said Clement breathing roughly
"At least you have minimum courtesy" said Ophelia shaking
Then they saw the tiny creature transformed into a small version of the armored beast
"I knew it!" Said Ophelia triumphantly
The giant armored beast glared at the tiny version of it
It roared and used it's tail to hit the small creature
The creature transformed into a small pink demon(as big as a baby cat) with a visible big shell on it's back , it used the shell as protection from the rain as it couldn't move from being hit
Clement looked at the "shapeshifter" then looked at the beast
He got out of their hiding place and yelled
"Hey! Isn't that your friend?!" Clement yelled angrily "wh_"
He was cut off by the by the beast curling into a ball and charging at him
Clement dodged then went to grab the tiny shapeshifter
Ophelia however was in the line of fire
The beast hit her barrier , Ophelia tried as hard as she could to keep the barrier going , and barely succeeded
She deflected the beast with her now visibly cracked barrier
Then Clement finally returned
They ran away into another alleyway with the beast on their tail
Then they hid in the darkness , hoping the beast doesn't see them
And thankfully it didn't
"What were you thinking!" Whispered Ophelia angrily "you almost got me killed"
"I was saving the shapeshifter, okay?!" whispered Clement the shapeshifter in his hands
"That thing tried to kill us!" Whispered Ophelia angrily and the shapeshifter hid in it's shell in fear "why do you want to be friends with everything you see"
"Because I don't have any friends okay!" Said Clement in a frustrated tone
And Ophelia raised a brow
"What?" She asked
"I'm from a family known for their illusion magic , but I'm terrible at illusion magic" said Clement sadly "so when I was young , everyone made fun of me and even my family didn't bother caring that much about me
So I switched to the beast keeping track to find a friend , and I finally found something I was good at , I was great at beast keeping and it's magic , and when I showed this ability ,my family and other people suddenly started caring about me , and I was scared
I didn't know if I could trust anyone , but when I saw you crying that day and complaining , I thought someone was like me , and I could have a real friend"
Ophelia looked at the ground frowning and made a decision
"I'll be your friend" said Ophelia
"Huh?" Asked Clement in confusion
"If we get out of here alive and as long as you aren't too annoying" said Ophelia "I'll be your friend"
"R-really?" said Clement with hope in his eyes
"Yes, so let's get rid of that thing and get out here alive!" Said Ophelia before extending her hand to Clement "are you in?"
Clement shook Ophelia's hand and nodded
"Here's the plan" said Ophelia before telling Clement the plan
Ophelia walked in the empty road
With her guard "totally" down , only the mostly broken barrier that blocks the rain
The beast saw her and charged
She ran away until she reached Clement who was standing near a wide alleyway and she drew a circle in the air in front of her , and a spirit was summoned
The beast collided with the mostly broken barrier , and easily broke it
Then the second spirit summoned another barrier
The second barrier cracked more and more under the pressure
But the barrier visibly moved , Ophelia moved the barrier so that it faces Clement
And the beast was deflected towards Clement , at least above him
And as Clement saw this , he drew 2 circles , he put one on each side of the alley
He got burned a little by the boiling rain because he used both hands , and didn't use the umbrella
Then a magic made net appeared and the beast fell in
And became trapped in it
"Yeah!" Yelled Ophelia happily
And Clement did the same
But then Ophelia realized
The rain stopped
She couldn't be seen here
"Look , I gotta go , I'll see you later" said Ophelia turning around to leave "friend"
"I'll see you too , friend" said Clement smiling
And a little smile appeared on Ophelia's face as well , a genuine happy smile unseen by the world
And she went back home
She was asked about what happened
She just said that she was stuck in the library until the rain ended
She went to her room
And jumped onto her bed
She said one sentence
"A friend" She said smiling
And she slept for as long as she could get away with
