Guest: yep.
Silverbird22: I would but I don't know if I have the muse or time for it.
I love Janto: exactly. They both go though so much pain because of their worries. He wouldn't know better, its an AU Ianto that's meeting Jack for the first time.
Ianto hadn't seen him since before he had started Torchwood One. When he got back in Cardiff, he wanted to go to him but what could he say? Things had been beyond complicated since the Cybermen, since saving Lisa and he didn't know how to even begin to explain anything to him. Ianto Jones had always been a particularly good liar but it was too hard to even say her name.
There had been Torchwood 3 and Lisa dying. All that planning gone to waste. Jack had killed her but part of Ianto had knew that Jack hadn't killed her at all. The Lisa he knew had been gone long since then. Ianto tried to think of what a certain master tailor would have said to him when he was on suspension.
It was after one of the ends of the world that Ianto finally sought him out. (The world was always ending wasn't it? Well he was trying to make sure he talked to his father figure before it did.) Entering the shop, Ianto looked around nervously and caught someone's eye.
"H- Hello Mr Ellen," Ianto said. He had nearly said hello dad but stopped himself just in time.
"Ianto," Mr Ellen said. "I haven't seen you in so long."
"Things have been complicated to say the least." He couldn't look at him and felt very much like a child that had disappointed his parent. "Lisa died." He had made peace with it, moved on even but saying it now made his heartache so badly.
"I'm so sorry Ianto," Mr Ellen said. Silence stretched out between them until Mr Ellen said "I saw you yesterday with a man in a World War II coat. You looked so happy."
"He's- we're- well... it's complicated."
"Tell me about him."
Figuring out the tailor's name was an unexpected problem. Not sure why I went with Ellen in the end.
