The Fate of the First Hero of Light
4 suncycles have passed since I have been banished from the Kingdom.
The Dark Elf and myself, have moved back to her home in the Spiriteye woods.
We are staying in one of the small rooms in the upper tree line of the majestic soul trees.
These trees are so massive they would tower above all but the largest castle's towers.
The Dark Elf my wife is an official Mage of the Mages guild.
As we are in her home realm we were not allowed to wear our Tribes traditional dress.
She wears her loose red mages robe, much to many a Dark Elf man's delight.
But her look of scorn quickly evaporating their looks of lust.
I wear business attire.
"Geir..." my beautiful blue, naked wife stares into my eyes.
"Yes, Vivi"
"How long still?"
"Only a few more days then we leave."
"I miss the fresh air of our tribe's homelands."
A few days later...
I greet everyone at the Spiriteye Wood's Academy.
I look to the little blue faces of my classes students, this is most likely how a parent feels, when their children leaves the nest.
I leave the academy waving farewell to my fellow teachers and the rest of the naughty shit, children goodbye.
The Dark Elf is wearing her blood splattered white parka, outside of the academy building.
She hands me mine, I put it on, we walk towards the spirit barrier.
The Elders are standing at the magical barrier to help guide us through the spirit world to help us leave the woods.
I respectable greet my Dark Elfish family.
Vivi extends the middle finger she always greets them with farewell, while glaring at them she grabs me by my neck, pulling me forcefully through the magical barrier.
We exit the Spiriteye woods...
The putrid smell of the trash ridden forest hits us in the face.
"BLEEEHHHH!"
I stagger, the shock from the intense smell almost overpowering me.
"Great Father Geir! Great Mother Vivilara! There is a great catastrophe!"
Through my tearing eyes, I can see a young Dwarf, it is Algir the young son of Union Head Great Father Ironward.
I grab Algir and throw him on my back.
Immediately we start moving together towards the Dwarven Realm...
"Where is the catastrophe Algir?"
"Great Father Geir at the Capitol, it is the Queen, she has disappeared!"
"Zelda?!"
While running towards the Capitol.
Algir explains that after 2 suncycles from when I was banished.
Zelda, Fire Mage and the Knight had investigated a strange phenomena in the mountainous regions of Mount Satori.
Farmers had found the sky formed "tears" and then various liquids leaked out of the visible tears in the air.
It was a very dry season so when water had poured forth from the tears in the air everyone was overjoyed.
But after some time a poison seeped through and then a liquid similar to blood.
Quickly piping was built to stop the liquid from damaging the fertile farming ground.
It was piped to a side of the mountain that had rock and could not sustain life.
All was well, but when Zelda was forced to investigate, they just disappeared!
The cracks are ever extending, the piping was always meant to be a temporary solution.
The situation is now so grave, if the piping were to fail, the farmlands would never be able to be used again.
"Algir did they not send anyone? They sent the royal guard by they could not find anything!"
"What of the situation in the Capital?"
"Great Mother Vivilara I am not sure, I was just sent to wait for you here."
"How long have you been here Algir?"
"Great Father it has been 2 and halve suncycles."
"I see, thank you Algir we will solve this mystery. Please feel at ease."
"Great Father Geir."
We reached the Dwarven Realm Algir wanted to walk.
I will not let him waste a single moment of his life more, for a kingdom that is not even his.
"Algir If there is a party involved in this, you will be avenged, this catastrophe has taken 2 and half suncycles time of your life from you."
"Thank you Great Father Geir."
We enter the Dwarven Realm.
We are greeted by a Mighty Dwarf with a braided beard and a Mighty Mustache.
After short talks.
"Geir son I see you know the situation. Let us speak frankly..."
Uncle Thandall explained there was found a cave and inside there was a dark mirror that did not reflect the image of everyone.
Those with magical abilities, were not shown on the reflection of the mirror.
Zelda had most likely touched the mirror out of curiosity and was cursed or had some other magics cast upon them.
"Here you go son."
I am given a letter from my Grandmother.
After some loves and kisses on the introduction she asked me to come see her immediately.
"Uncle Thandall I will need a sword."
"Come with me my boy."
We walking deeper into the Dwarven Realm, I have lived here for many times yet I do not recognize this area?
We enter a great hall, there are seated a great many Dwarfs!
Uncle Thandall walks towards me.
"Geir me boy this is for you."
I am given a very large case wrapped in expensive gift paper.
"Here for my beautiful lass."
The Dwarf gives the Dark Elf a small package wrapped in expensive girlish papers with a bow placed upon it.
"Thank you Great Father!"
Vivi kisses Uncle Thandall and hugs him tightly.
The Mighty Dwarf letting out a hearty laugh.
"What is this Uncle Thandall?"
I say while staring at the massive case.
"A little welcome home present. Algir come here me boy, something for you to!"
The young Dwarf is handed, new Dwarven Battle Armour and a Dwarven War Axe.
"Thank you Great Father Thandall!" His eyes shine while holding his new armour.
Suddenly music starts and everyone starts singing for us.
Melodies of welcoming's and celebrations.
Vivi's eyes are tearing.
Finally we have arrived, we are back home.
"Geir son open it."
I carefully and slowly remove the paper, you can always reuse it when wrapping a new present!
While congratulating myself for this cost saving miracle, the gift is opened...
My heart almost stops, this case is used to store a Dwarven Greatsword!
I open the large case there is a massive greatsword in it, it is completely rusted!
The rust flakes have filled the box.
The blade looks as if it might snap into two if not handed carefully.
"Uncle Thandall this cannot be true! You want to give me this?"
The Mighty Dwarf nods his head.
"Geir with you gone. We realized that though you had always helped us we never realized how much you had supported us. The hole you left when you were gone, so many things that we took for granted, became extremely difficult to accomplish without your scheming ways to help us."
"Uncle Thandall why do you have to say it like that?"
"Geir son we are thankful, to call you a fellow Dwarf. You are just as mighty as one of the original Dwarven Four. I will now bestow on you the same sword, that had helped Great Father Houzmas Grimmaker one of the Dwarven Four defend the Dwarven Heart's flame from the forces of evil. The four helped the Dwarf's leave their cursed world and entered this one so that we could survive and prosper."
"EXCUSE ME?!"
The Dark Elf still embracing Uncle Thandall screams out of shock.
"I am sorry even talking of this forbidden knowledge is already breaking many Dwarvish secret oaths, I will not be able to tell more."
"Geir Dwarf of House Deepstand. I bestow upon you Rust Bane the Dwarven Mages of olds, strongest creation. The blade having been forged for hundreds of years by the Ancestors, of the Dwarfs who first lit the Dwarven Heart those thousands of suncycles ago. It cannot break. The more it is used, the keener the edge, the rust will reconstruct till it shines like the mirror finish it had when it was first formed."
"Lady Vivilara Dwarf of House Deepstand , Royal Twin of the Dark Elf's of the Spiriteye Wood. I bestow upon you Freya's Dirk, it was presented to Great Mother Badmukara Hillrock one of the Four Hero's of Fate, thousands of suncycles ago by the goddess Freya herself."
"EXCUSE ME?!"
The Dark Elf still embracing Uncle Thandall screams out of shock again.
"Let me finish lassie, the Dirk heals by inflicting wounds, if a person is stabbed by the blade it will heal the person of their ailment. It will inflict no wound where the Dirk's blade was stabbed."
I am so shocked I think my mouth is hanging open.
"Geir, Vivilara my son and daughter. The last two of the Dwarven Heroes of Fate, would like to bestow upon you a special gift.
"Geir the Hume and Vivilara the Dark Elf, come here."
The Great Mother signals towards us, we move to her.
"Aunt Hurmihilda?"
"Yes, my child Great Father Deepstand and myself, we are two of the original Dwarven Hero's of Fate."
"EXCUSE ME?!"
The Dark Elf is starting to look bleak, before she falls over, the Mighty Dwarf has her in his arms.
Suddenly I remember reading fables while still in the academy.
I become so nervous I feel my stomach might become ill.
"YOU ARE NOT GOING TO TURN TO DUST! IF WE RECEIVE THE WEAPONS ARE YOU?!"
"What are you talking about son? We were some of the first Dwarfs to arrive our lives last much longer. Do not worry me boy, I'm not going anywhere!"
"THANK YOU! ANCIENT ANCESTORS!"
Everyone starts laughing at me.
We are given the symbols of the Two Hero's that have passed on, when we touched the medallions.
There was a searing sound and on my left Dwarven runes formed, unlike any I have ever seen.
Under Vivi's neck a rune symbol also formed.
"I'm sorry me lass that was where Badmukara's Rune was placed, please forgive me."
Vivi hugs Uncle Thandall and kisses him.
"Thank you for believing in me father."
I see Uncle Thandall wants to tear up.
There was some legal documentation, we had to fill out, seeing as these weapons were of such a huge cultural importance.
If they were lost while not in battle, we would lose our right to enter the Dwarven Afterlife!
The festival was so great I believe almost every one of me fellow Dwarfs was present.
I move to a table, I sit down...
The Mighty Dwarven Warrior Thandall Deepstand sits next to me.
"Son what is wrong?"
"Uncle Thandall I just wish my Grandmother was here.."
BAM!
Someone punched me from the side in my face!
My nose is bleeding, one of my front teeth is missing.
I want to turn to kill my attacker, before I can a voice I know...
"What do mean I'm not here! Have you been hiding so long in the trees! You cannot even sense me?"
"GRANDMOTHER!"
I embrace her. I want to cry so many things are happening at the same time.
"Vivilara."
"Yes, Grandmother."
"Bring that knife here."
The Dark Elf hands the dirk to my Grandmother.
My Grandmother takes the dirk and stabs my in the head through my forehead!
"GEIR NOOOOOO!"
I collapse it goes dark...
The story of Geir the Hume, ends.
I wake up.
Tears are falling on my face, it is my wife she is sobbing.
"Ugh, what happened?"
"GEIR!"
My wife embraces me tightly.
"Geir stand up."
"Yes, Grandmother."
"Feel inside your mouth."
I place my finger inside to feel.
"My tooth! It is fixed!"
"Yes and no."
My Grandmother gives me a tooth in my hand.
"So this is the power of Freya's Dirk. It can stab you but not injure you with its blade. It then heals you with the energies that are stored inside, but there is one thing I cannot understand?"
"Yes, me boy?"
"Why is Grandmother's hand smoking while she is holding it?"
"Geir son it was created to fight against the dark forc..."
My Grandmother glances at Uncle Thandall, the Mighty intimidated Dwarf understands, he speaks...
"Do not worry about that son, sometimes it does that."
"GEIR-NII SAN CONGRATULATIONS!"
I feel light headed.
It is my little sister Teela, is she screaming because she is glad to see me or is she always like that?
"Yes, congratulations Claurilles. I am not sure what is going on, nor do I care, we have to find the Queen, please make haste."
"GODDAMMIT!"
I turn around it, the fools are here, it is Estonix and Micheal!
Finish.
