The Fate of the First Hero of Light
This is the absolute worst.
The Dark Elf, Uncle Thandall, my Grandmother and myself are walking up the path to Mount Satori's cave entrance were the Mirror is located.
"Claurilles can you not walk faster? Aunt Teelee will need to rest for a moment." says Estonix.
"Yes, you are supposedly her grandson! Yet you have her walk these distances, are you so poor you cannot afford a mount for our beloved Aunt and your wife?" says Micheal.
"My precious Micelly and Estonny thank you for your concern!" says my Grandmother.
"Aunt Teela please forgive me. If I had known..."
"Micheal you charmer I knew you would think of me, thank you."
"Micheal it is my turn to carry Aunt Teela."
"Estonix not yet..."
"Thank you my beautiful boys!"
A red faced Estonix and Micheal, saying in unison.
"Aunt Teelee!".
She kisses them both on their cheeks.
This has to be the worst day in my whole life.
Normally I can find respite from life's catastrophes, with support from my Grandmother's loving care.
When my Grandmother had married my grandfather, they returned to stay at House Dominitus.
My Grandmother not one to suffer foolish or weak men.
Forced even the lardiest of the House's inhabitants to train daily or if they refused they would suffer at her hands.
Only recently I had heard that she was very close to Estonix and Micheal.
She had taught them swordsmanship and many other things.
Lord Anaxtus was wise enough to keep her at a sufficient distance from them.
So that they did not learn her brutalities.
This whole journey, they constantly dote on her.
To curry favor is fine, this is so extreme, I get tired just looking at them.
My Grandmother is smiling so wide and brightly, I can see she is in heaven.
While I am in the darkest depths of hell.
Constantly being berated by the two people I hate the most.
Why I did not do this or that! I should think of my Grandmother and my wife!
I am getting so upset I struggle to breath.
Finally the last bend and we will reach the small path leading toward the cave.
Estonix turns the corner I walk behind him.
I step one hair widths from the corner...
My eyes are as large as they possible can be. I let all my killing intent out.
"Uncle Thandall! Take everyone and run!"
"Yes, son!"
He grabs everyone in his Mighty Dwarven Arms and starts sliding down the cliff face.
My sword Rustbane has completely reformed it is shining like a mirror. There is a gash in the air, blood is shooting out of it.
In the far distance I hear a a beastly roar.
I am slicing into the gash moving forwards.
I feel heat and smell blood, I am inside of a great beast.
The massive wound behind me closes.
I move towards where I was told the mirror would be.
Rustbane is so sharp now it takes almost no effort to cut the muscles and tendons.
Uncle Thandall told me it would take me at least 20 suncycles of combat to sharpen it like as if new again.
The massive resistance of the beasts' scales sharpened it instantly.
The minerals and energy's contained in the blood, polishing and reconstructing the rusted blade immediately.
There is damp and rancid air.
I am outside of the beast again.
I freeze the entrance to the cave.
I protected my family in the end.
That ice is my strongest, it would take 10 suncycles to disappear.
I touch the mirror...
Two suns shine in the totally dark sky, the heat is immense.
The desert spans into the horizon endlessly around me.
The energies in the beast giving me so much magical energy, I construct a mountain of ice where I stand.
I should find the Knight first.
There is no wind in this desert.
His deep tracks are easily seen.
I find him impaled on a large board.
Many small spears are inside him.
There is a village of little creatures.
I know them!
The one is sitting on his helm. Using it as a throne undoubtedly lording over the others.
The Knight has no magical abilities so after fighting for weeks or months the little abominations, finally whittled him down.
"Knight come we are leaving."
"G...e...i...r?"
"Yes, it is me. Get dressed we have to find Zelda and the Fire Mage. We are leaving."
He is tearing up.
The little abomination sitting on his helmet wanted to speak.
I have it in my hand, my Grandmother taught me this.
I form an ice pike, hitting it in the top of its head.
The legs are twitching violent, the eyes are going in different directions from each other. They are no longer locked in unison.
I throw the broken doll on the sand.
I break the other ones too.
They live of the life energies inside the great creature, they will most likely never die.
Suffering forever, a fitting end.
"Are you ready now?"
"Is this real or is it a dream?"
"It's a miracle to me, you not bawling constantly. What a relief!"
"GEIR IT IS TRULY YOU! WHY DID YOU TAKE SO LONG?"
I sigh very deeply.
"Let us leave!"
"GEIR DO YOU REALLY THINK THOSE MONSTER CAME FROM HERE?!"
"Knight did you know about the tears in the air?"
"YES, WE ARRIVED HERE. TO INVESTIGATE AND TO SOLVE THE MYSTERY?"
"The tears in the air. Is the wounds of the great beast the "World Serpent"."
"BAHAHAHAHA! GEIR I MISSED YOUR EXAGGERATIONS THE MOST!"
"Knight believe what you want. Recently I discovered secrets that let me to believe that fable as if it was true."
"PLEASE GEIR EXPLAIN."
I decide it is not best to disclose an ancient dwarven secret.
"Do not worry. I am just very superstitious."
"GEIR?"
"Let us find Zelda next."
"YES, YOUR MAJESTY HERE WE COME!"
I change my corneas shape.
In the far distance Zelda is sitting upright on the sand.
The little things are playing with her, jumping and punching her.
She falls over and sits upright again.
They do it again.
Has this been going on for two suncycles!?
"Knight you stay here."
"NO, GEIR I WILL.."
"If you start crying in front of Zelda, her mind might never recover."
The Knight steps back, he has realized the seriousness of her sufferings.
I throw the broken puppets onto the sand.
The wailing, twitching appendages and eyes violently spinning around.
Signaling the total and complete destruction of their minds, also indicating the beginning of their eternal sufferings.
Zelda's eyes are completely lifeless like a dead persons.
Her clothes are ripped she has scratches everywhere.
I hear a searing sound and smell burnt flesh.
The Dwarven runes I received on my left arm shine, emotions are welling up inside of me.
Is this my rage? I feel calm and collected?
My hand is on Zelda's head!
When did I move!?
Her wounds are healing. The shine is coming back to her unkept hair. The life is returning to her eyes.
One of my blue runes is turning red.
Zelda is laying on her back I put her inside my parka.
The energy in this rune, I know what it is hate!
The rune collects the bloodlust and hatred of my enemies.
It then fills the shining Dwarven runes on my left arm.
I signal to the Knight.
Like an arrow flying through the air he rushes towards us.
When he reaches us.
"YOUR MAJESTY!...UGH..."
I placed him in an armlock and choke him.
He is unconscious.
I put my hand on his head, his hatred is being absorbed.
Being a mighty warrior more than half of my runes shine red. How many battles would it have taken to absorb this much hatred? What will happen if it is filled?
"ZELDA WAKE UP!"
"No! Not again please!"
"What are you talking about we are leaving."
"This white parka and these red stains. GEIRRR!"
"Yes, Zelda we have to find the Fire Mage and leave."
Zelda hugs me tears are flowing.
I kick the Knight, he wakes up.
"GEIR WHY?!"
"I had to try something."
"GEIR!"
"Enough talking, only the Fire Mage is left."
The Fire Mages clothes are tattered. He has lost his hunters hat.
He is fighting the abominations.
As previously when I fought them.
They burrow into the sand, then when there is a chance they jump out and cut you slightly. Whittling you down slowly.
How long has he been fighting them?
"Knight, the Fire Mage and myself can draw magic from inside this creatures stomach. That you could not fight for these many times. It is not a lack of your abilities as a warrior. It is just the unfortunate circumstances that you had found yourself."
"GEIR THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR THAT!"
"YOUR MAJESTY PLEASE OVERLOOK THIS. GEIR THANK YOU, MY STRENGTH HAS RETURNED!"
I nod, I feel relieved.
"Geir! Why did you take so long?"
"Fire Mage this is what happens. When you do not take me on quests."
I am laying on my back, looking at the the two suns in the sky.
My face was almost melted off!
"Fire Mage have some rest."
"FINALLY! Your Majesty, Sir.."
"MY FRIEND!"
"Sir...!"
I break them one for one.
I leave them on the sand, little twitching sufferings.
"Fire Mage does this look familiar to you?"
"What is that? Let me see Geir."
I hit him on the back of the neck.
He collapses, I grab him.
I stop the Knights sword in the air with Rustbane in my other hand.
He is still pushing down on my sword.
I put my hand on the Fire Mages head, his hatred is being extracted into my arm.
"Geir why is there writing on your arm? What language is used here?"
"Zelda these are Dwarven Runes. I am extracting the Fire Mage's hatred, as I did with yourself and the Knight."
"GEIR FOR WHAT PURPOSE?!"
"Recently Vivi and myself became recipients, of two of the Dwarven Hero's of Fates abilities."
"WHAT?!"
"It would seem I can collect hatred and feelings of combat in my runes. For what purpose I do not know. When I first found you Zelda as if I was compelled. I took those feelings from you. I apologize."
"Why would you apologize Geir?"
"YES! WHY WOULD YOU? WHEN YOU GRANTED HER MAJESTY A BLESSING BY REMOVING THESE ILL FEELINGS?"
"Knight I would not be the person I am today. If at first I did not hate this world and everyone in it."
"WHAT A PREPOSTUROUS STATEMENT!"
"Geir that makes no sense?"
"Zelda, Knight you have been imprisoned here for a many moments. These beast have toyed and tormented you, for the entire time. How do you feel about this?"
"Geir I feel nothing."
"I ALSO FEEL NOTHING WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?"
"I took all the feelings of your sufferings away."
"Geir how could that possibly be something. That you should not be thankful for?"
"Through my humiliations and sufferings of my youth. Was I able to form my will, ruthlessness and a cold heart. You could have gained that same strength that I have."
"GEIR YOU ARE MY COMRADE AND THE HUSBAND OF ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS! STILL I THINK YOU ARE NOT SOMEONE, A PERSON YOU SHOULD STRIVE TO BE!"
"Hahahahahaha!"
Zelda is laughing so hard she almost fell over.
"Geir I understand what you mean. Also the meaning of the loss of my hatred, that was forged in these many years. Still if I can leave and live as before. I can only thank you."
"Very well. Let us leave and find the queen."
"THE QUEEN!"
"These creatures are all the exact same. They have no gender. They cannot procreate on their own. They are birthed somewhere inside here. I have been extremely irate lately. My Grandmother taught me the bare minimum. So I am somewhat of an expert in..."
"Geir I do not want to listen further. Let us find this Queen. We will let you do the talking."
"Yes, Zelda let us do that."
Finish.
