"Do not worry Zelda."

"WHY SHOULD I NOT WORRY?!"

"After this you will never be able to be embarrassed ever again."

"GEIR NOOOO!"

Zelda, my Grandmother in disguise and I started the "Forgiveness Tour".

We started on the furthest regions of the kingdom.

Visiting even the most remote settlements.

Zelda healing the inhabitants of even the smallest homestead.

The genuine tears of joy shed by the sick that she healed.

Through my many years of scheming giving me a silver tongue.

After the healings I would then proceed to tell of Zelda and our parties previous adventures.

Our greatest victories and our darkest of failures.

The homestead's inhabitants then cheering for the Queen at her "Majestic" feats of daring do's.

As we moved closer inwards.

The people's hearts had become closed to her, even my best appeals did not work anymore.

The healings she was giving out, was now expected and not something to be grateful for.

This only happened once.

The total destruction of the village.

My Grandmother's rage raining down on the ungrateful villagers.

Every person was suddenly extremely grateful of the Queen, who had soothed and calmed the "Ice Dragon".

They were suddenly very appreciative of her healings, now that many of their limbs were pointing in directions, they were not meant to be pointing in!

Finally everyone was healed and luckily no one had expired.

We moved onto the next town...

Someone moves to attack us at night.

"Tulok beasts you'll die here...UGH..."

I grab the young man by his throat, I close my hand slightly his neck is snapped, he goes limp.

"FATHER NO!"

"COME OUT TRIPEAK TRIBE!" I scream into the darkness around us.

I can clearly see them all, even in the total darkness of the forest's night.

"I'LL KILL YOU AND GET REVENGE THAT MONSTER TORTURED OUR ENTIRE TRIBE!"

I move through them, killing them one by one.

The little boy tries to run away, I freeze and shatter him into nothingness.

It is still and quiet.

"They are all dead."

The road is littered with blood and dead bodies.

"Geir why you are so slow?" asks my Grandmother looking at me with a look of concern at my perceived lack of skill.

"With skills of that level, why rush?"

"WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE! IF THEY WERE THAT WEAK GEIR?" screams a crying Zelda.

"They will not stay weak forever. I am not the only one in my tribe. That they attacked us was very fortunate."

"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT?"

"Like that young boy we also have many young ones in my tribe. If our children were here they would have been killed instead. Do not worry about these things for now. Brigands attacked us I defended ourselves. That is what I will tell the authorities."

"GEIR!"

"Zelda let us go." My Grandmother helps Zelda up.

Town for town we move.

The people from neighboring towns started gossiping. I am glad, no better way to spread misinformation.

I start exaggerating our tales.

Soon the entire province knows of the Queen's, "brilliance", her magical healing abilities, confirming that the extraordinary stories they heard could truly be real.

"Geir, please no more." says a red faced Zelda.

"Yes, Zelda that should be enough for today."

We stay at a local inn.

There are assassins here.

They have not attacked I leave them alive for now.

I rent three rooms.

My room is at the end of a long hallway, my Grandmother and Zelda's are next to each other but separated by a wall. If they attack Zelda, my Grandmother will pull them through the wall freeze it again. Play with them, till morning, then kill them. If they attack her directly their sufferings will increase even further. If they attack me, I will beat some answers out of them.

I sleep soundly.

There were some loud screams of anguish, many pleas for mercy and forgiveness.

Then total silence.

We move on to the next town...

"Zelda how are you feeling?"

"Geir how should I feel?"

"You should be joyful."

"Geir every town we move to, we leave a trail of blood and bodies behind. Do you think the people still see me as the Queen and not some monster feasting on the living at night, stealing their life energies, then healing during the day. Then leaving the bodies of the dead behind?"

"Hahahahaha!" I am laughing harder than I have ever laughed before, my Grandmother is chuckling too.

"Geir is this what you meant by living in the darkness? Everywhere you go, you are hated. On our journey I can count with my fingers, the days we are not ambushed at night, our food was not poisoned or when they did not come to kill us where we sleep."

"Yes, I think so Zelda, let us move to the next city."

When we arrived at Capital.

Messengers had been running in front of us.

The Cathedral's organ was playing and the bells sounding.

The streets were filled to the brim with people the Queen had met or healed, there were so many, singing all of the nation's songs.

The hardened hearts of the Capitals inhabitants cracking under the presence and threat of violence from the smaller towns, their inhabitants staring at the people who are not singing.

Finally their fear compelling them to submit and to start rejoicing as well.

Even if their hearts could never change they know, they are the minority.

There is also real concern of...

Zelda is staring intensely at me.

On these many days of travelling she knows me very well now, she knows I am scheming again.

I clear my mind.

We walk the crowds roar and cheer for the Queen.

I move upwards to climb to to the podium.

Hopefully my last appeal.

I think I can say these words in my sleep.

Will I ever be able to forget?

Even when we met only one person, I would promote Zelda on this journey day in, day out.

I open my secret weapon, a speech I had prepared with my most of a dubious of scheming mind.

The perfect speech it can pull at all of a person heart's string it will...

Zelda takes the envelope from my hands and tears it up.

I move to talk

"I present you, the Queen!"

The crowds go wild cheering and singing songs.

Zelda gives a moving speech at the end, I see she wants to speak words to thank me.

I shake my head and my Grandmother also signals very desperately to her.

Wise beyond her suncycles, she does not disclose she had been traveling with the Tulok Warchief.

She was also unaware that I had killed, many of our tribes enemies in the regions we were travelling through.

While she was sleeping soundly at night.

I had been staying at my Grandmother in my little room with my beautiful blue wife.

As if to make up for lost time.

Late at night she would use her long times of training in her youth, to stealthily move naked at night and procure us some food and wine.

Before locking and barricading the door to resume our passions.

After I had survived the unsurmountable conquest that is my wife's libido.

I was able to leave the room without being stopped by a naked blue figure.

Zelda had sent a letter daily requesting my audience.

I wonder how many days this heap of letters represent?

I leave.

"GEIR!" she embraces me.

"Was there always this much gold and frills in the throne room?"

"The people have been so grateful for our help, they demanded the castle be done over to represent my perceived importance."

"DAMMIT THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!"

I think to myself.

Zelda having been so ingrained in my demented way of thinking.

She can tell what I was thinking and being dubious.

"GEIR WHY IS THIS THE ABSOLUTE WORST?"

"All the other Houses will demand the same and then this and that...

"Royal architect!"

"YES, YOUR MAJESTY!"

"Stop the renovations! Return everything as it was!"

"YES, YOUR MAJESTY!"

The man and staff start frantically removing gold and trinkets

"Geir I can finally thank you, thank you Geir, for saving not just my Queendom but teaching me many important lessons."

""Lessons" Zelda?"

"The importance of marketing, the dangers associated when travelling at night and what it means to be a good ruler."

"What do you mean Zelda?"

"To fight for the people even though they hate you."

"If you say so Zelda I am leaving."

"What of Sir.. and Sir... how will we appeal, their forgiveness?"

"The Knight and Fire Mage, they are so generic, the people have in all likelihood already forgotten of them."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY! YOU DARE IMPUNE OUR HONOUR!"

"Geir even for you that is a new low." says the Fire Mage.

"WHAT!? YOU WERE HERE!"

I act shocked and leave.

Zelda laughing hysterically in the background.

Finish.
