The Fate of the First Hero of Light

"Geir! Take those two machines on the left! Look out magics do not work on them!"

"Great Father Dokhan! My blade does not cut the metal! What should I do?!"

"Geir aim for the gears driving the machine on the inside. Cut the cables at the back of the joints."

"Yes, Great Father!"

I stab straight through the center of the Iron Golem. I feel gears grinding on my greatsword.

I hear the gear's teeth break off, the gears cannot mesh anymore.

The Golem starts moving in an erratic fashion and falls on the ground.

The other Golem moves to hit me with its iron hands.

I have memorized the ways the limbs can move.

They won't be able to hit me anymore.

But hubris breeds misfortune.

They are constructed so finely it looks almost Dwarven in construction but the materials used in its creation is not from this world.

These are almost certainly from the cursed world where the Dwarfs first came from.

If they are defeated, I will leave immediately and not pry any further.

I cut the second ones "sinewy" cables.

Like a puppet whose strings are cut, it collapses.

"Great Father Dokhan leave these ones to me. You go on."

"Thank you, Geir we..."

"Great Father I will stay here I will not enter or look into the hall."

"Geir...I understand!"

"Great Father call for me if there is trouble."

"YES, GEIR I AM OFF!"

The machines keep on coming out of the crack in the wall where I am.

I have discovered where I can use my magics.

They contain a liquid similar to oil inside.

With my strongest ice magics I can compress it, it has a similar effect to plugging a hole in a drain.

The liquid does not flow freely anymore.

I hear a gnashing sound, then heat comes out of the Golems and finally they lock up.

I am sitting on a heap there must be 200 of these Constructs here.

I have to drag the broken machines away from the cracks entrance to allow the next ones to enter.

The physical exertion I use when pulling the machines out is not tiresome, the constant use of my ice magics is tiring me out.

I can still fight for three days without rest.

The hall where the Dwarfs are entering must be completely full of Dwarven Warriors.

So many have entered yet more and more Warriors enters it does not full up.

Great Father Mulgrour Hornmaul is being helped out of the wall he is seriously injured, he has a deep gash it is formed in a saw like pattern.

They are definitely fighting in their "old world".

Uncle Thandall is entering the hall he has a great warhammer with him.

He looks to me, I raise my closed fist and nods.

He winks at me and enters the hall.

One day has passed.

I asked one of the young dwarfs who was about to enter the hall to help me.

"Great Father Geir, we have finished moving the "corpses"."

"Nokraed, Boveag and Satmaegit are you ready?"

"YES, GREAT FATHER!"

The broken dolls I had stuffed into the crack I hit them with a mid swing from my Greatsword Rustbane they fly out of the hole.

The Golem's quickly fill the empty room.

The young Dwarfs and myself battle the Golems...

I make sure they are dead when they fall. I have the young Dwarfs who were fighting pull out the Golems, then other young Dwarfs enter fray.

We work in teams of four.

The unfortunate machines have been resigned as training dummies for the young Dwarven Warriors.

"How many Satmaegit?"

"1050 Golems Great Father Geir!

""Boveag how are the injured?"

"There only sprains and a few broken bones."

"SHOW THEM WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A DWARF"

The young Dwarfs all scream their voices roaring.

"YES, GREAT FATHER GEIR!"

Four days have passed.

The Golems are not coming out in great numbers anymore.

I have the Dwarfs stand in a line as one or two of the machines enter.

I have one of the Dwarfs enter the battle.

I instruct the young Dwarf on strategies and techniques.

I restrain the other Golems.

The constant battling and having to use my strongest ice magics constantly but only briefly to "kill" the Golems. I feel I have gained so much strength in my magics. Only a few years more now and I will surpass my Grandmother!

"Nebreala I know you are studying medicine. Still this thing is not alive. You should at least experience combat once. Who knows what the future holds?"

"Still Great Father."

"Clench your weapon tightly and hit with all your might."

"Yes, Great Father!"

She hits the Golem with such strength it almost slides when it hits the floor. I had forgotten how strong Dwarven women are!

The Dwarfs are exiting the hall. The bodies are being carried out. Many fallen Dwarfs I know some. That is the nature of our lives.

As with every battle Aunt Hurmihilda and Uncle Thandall are the last to leave.

Uncle Thandall closes the great halls doors one for one. Aunt Hurmihilda the last Dwarf who can still use magics, she casts the spell Celestial Gate. Giant gold chains form a cross over the doors, when the chains form a circle at the middle. It wont be able to be opened without magical assistance. The gold chains become transparent and disappear!

Aunt Hurmihilda collapses the battle took to much out of her.

The door is flung open a giant hand extends to grab her!

I am inside a golden room there are treasures everywhere. The creatures forearm is shooting some kind of liquid out. It does not seep into the ground it stays in a liquid form but is does not disperse. Like oil droplets on water.

Aunt Hurmihilda has finished the spell, I hear the lock on the outside. To be certain I freeze the door with black obsidian crystal.

It cannot be broken now.

The creatures hand has reconstructed. To die in combat there is no greater honor for a dwarf. I will kill this creature then destroy the rest of the realm.

I cannot contact Vivi anymore. This must really be a different world.

The hand moves so fast, I blocked it...

CRASH

I hit the wall, there is a giant crack behind me.

I cannot breathe properly I broke 3 ribs.

I will not die with my first enemy!

Otherwise I will roll in my grave out of frustration.

Here I go...

"GEIR! NO! SON! HURMIHILDA UNDO THE SPELL NOW!"

Great Mother Hurmihilda stands up and start walking towards Dwarven Realm.

"HURMIHILDA! ARE YOU LISTENING?"

"ENOUGH! DO NOT DISHONOUR HIS SACRIFICE! HE ENTERED THE REALM, TO STOP IT FROM ENTERING OUR WORLD! WHAT CAN YOU DO ON YOUR OWN?"

"HURMHILDA PLEASE HE IS MY SON!"

Hurmihilda turns around tears are flowing.

"Enough Thandall. It is hopeless what can you and I do in our state. Look at these heap of machines. Geir killed most of them, how much magics do you think he has left. We will only find a corpses."

"I'LL GO GET HELP!"

The Dwarven Warrior is running through the snow, the winds are fiercely blowing, he can barely see through the blizzard.

He reaches the Tulok homelands.

He moves to the main building.

"Please be here Lassy!"

"IS THE PRINCESS HERE?!"

He screams to the receptionist she signals to him.

The Mighty Dwarf runs up the stairs.

"VIVILARA, TEELA COME WE ARE SAVING GEIR!"

The Dark Elf is crying, Geir's Grandmother has her hands on the Dark Elf's shoulder.

She is staring dead eyed through the window.

"TEELA, VIVI WE ARE GOING TO SAVE HIM!"

The Dark Elf hugs the Dwarven Warrior.

"Please enough Great Father. I cannot sense him anymore. He is dead."

"NO, COME WITH ME! THERE IS STILL TIME."

"Great Father please."

"THERE IS A REASON YOU CANNOT SENSE HIM! PLEASE BELIEVE ME COME!"

The Princess and the Dark Elf move slowly they accepted the finality of the situation.

"WAKE UP! EVEN IF I HAVE TO GO ALONE. I WILL SAVE HIM!"

He moves through the building, running to exit.

He hits the front door accidentally, it breaks free of the hinges.

He reaches the Capitol...

He runs up the stairs to the throne room he flings opens the door.

"ZELDS QUICK COME SIR... AND SIR... WE HAVE TO SAVE GEIR!"

The Queens eyes are red, she has been crying.

The Knight's helm's visor is closed. The Fire Mage is staring dead eye at the floor.

"I WILL SAVE HIM NO MATTER WHAT!"

"SIR THANDALL PLEASE ENOUGH. LADY VIVILARA TOLD US! I AM SURE HE FOUGHT VALIANTLY TILL THE END." says the Knight speaking through his closed helm.

The Dwarven Warrior runs down the stairs, he slips and falls a small white object flies.

He picks it up and studies it closer.

"IT'S ME BOYS TOOTH!"

The tears are forming.

"I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO BE SITTING HERE! I HAVE TO SAVE MY SON!"

Some time has passed...

The Dwarven Warrior stands ready, he is alone wearing his magical armor, his weapons are affixed, the Great Hammer Crimson Earth Cracker and the War Axe Flesh Rend.

"ZELDA DO NOT TRY TO STOP ME! SORRY YOUNG MAN! IT IS GOING TO GET DANGEROUS SOON. BEST YOU LEAVE!"

The young man signals he is also going, he shows he has twin daggers.

"I WILL NOT REFUSE HELP, BUT THIS IS A DESPERATE QUEST! THERE IS NO TURNING BACK!"

The blue clad figure indicates he understands.

"LET'S GO!"

The Mighty Dwarven Warrior lifts the Hammer and hits the halls door.

BAM

The Celestial Chains break, the sound of the impact makes a visible shock wave in the air.

The Great Hammer is shattered and destroyed by the impact.

The Dwarf quickly pulled the blue clad figure behind him, just after the blow. The Dwarfs magical armor taking the brunt of the impact and shockwave.

The halls door is open so fast, it looks like they melted instantly.

The Dwarf is in immediately, the blue figure is running behind him.

"Me boy my name be Thandall. What is yours?"

A very muffled voice says "Sheik".

"Thank you Sheik."

The room is completely destroyed various parts of the Titan are scattered about.

"I KNEW IT! GEIR PLEASE BE SAFE! LETS GO SHEIK!"

The Dwarf and the young man run through the unknown structure.

Various broken machines and constructs litter the halls.

They have sharp cuts on them.

"THIS IS FROM GEIR'S ICE MAGICS!"

The one man signals and shows the cuts have started rusting.

The cuts were made a long time ago.

"NO, SON DON'T WORRY GEIR IS FINE!"

They turn a hallway.

The enemies numbers start increasing the halls are packed very tightly now with broken machines.

"THIS IS THE LAST TURN TO EXIT THE FACTORY! GEIR IS DEFIN..."

A bright flicker it looks like a mirror. There is a bloodied figure sitting against the wall. Heaps of machine are around him. He is impaled with various parts.

"NOOOOOOOO! GEIR ME BOY!"

The Dwarf swings his War-Axe once, the heap of machines around him disappear.

"GEIR SON WAKE UP!" he touches him.

He falls over on the ground completely stiff.

The little man moves and pushes the Dwarf and starts healing the figure.

It feels like many days have passed Zelda does not stop healing Geir.

"ZELDA PLEASE SAVE HIM!"

"Please Great Father I need to concentrate."

Zelda puts her hands to her face and starts crying.

"NO! ZELDA!"

Mighty tears start rolling down the Dwarfs face.

"I thought Geir could kill more of them?"

The Dwarf has his War Axe and swings it behind him.

CRACK

The Axe's Blade is deflected and hits the wall's ceiling, breaking it.

"TEELA?!"

"Move over Zelda."

"Yes, Teela."

"PLEASE SAVE HIM PRINCESS."

The Princess puts her hand on his chest a mist is forming in the air. The area around the Princess's hands are starting to freeze.

Geir's leg starts twitching.

"Did Geir just move!?" asks Zelda.

"TEELA!"

"Great Father do not be alarmed. His life is no longer in danger."

The Dwarven Warrior's tears are flowing.

"...ugh...where...am...I..."

The figure on the ground moves upright.

"GEIR ME BOY!"

The Dwarven Warrior embraces him, everyone hears very loud cracking sounds.

The Dwarf forgot he was a Hume, his Dwarfen strength breaking Geir's body.

All of his ribs are broken, Geir collapses the pain is immense.

Finish.
