I love Janto: I would have looked it up but I thought I might be able to recall it eventually.

Something for torchwoodficweek. I also posted this on tumblr.

Tosh waited for a while before going back to the hub. She had meant what she said about the pedant not being meant for them but she wondered if she would regret breaking it. Perhaps she wouldn't live long enough to. The morbid thought brought her no comfort.

Tosh felt like she aged centuries since the ordeal with Mary. The pendant changed people but then so did this job. She took her time walking back to the hub. Ianto was there behind the tourist office when she entered.

He smiled at her and she remembered his thoughts. He was in so much constant pain and it never ended. Tosh wanted to say something, to make things better somehow. But she had no words and her words would have sounded hollow anyway.

"Are you alright?" Ianto asked.

"Yeah," she said, surprised by how steady her voice was. "Yeah. Its just been a long day."

Ianto opened the entrance to the hub.

"Uh, Ianto? If you ever need someone to talk to..."

"Thank you. Have a good night."

She nodded and entered the hub. We're both just carrying on, Tosh thought. What else can we do?
