I love Janto: yep. I keep forgetting about the time difference. Ianto isn't used to letting Jack spoil him. He'll feel better after some rest and a hot shower.
Jack shook Ianto awake. Ianto looked at Jack and then tried to shake the grogginess out of his head. He took the Santa hat and threw it into the backseat which made Jack pout.
"Still not in a Christmassy mood?" Jack asked.
"All I care about right now is sleeping until New Year's," Ianto said. He got out of the car and Jack followed after him. It occurred to Ianto that it had been a very long time since Jack had seen his apartment. They usually used the hub for naked hide and seek. He had barely been home all week, even collapsing onto the hub's couch one night. He certainly hadn't cleaned. Jack wouldn't care that he hadn't cleaned but Ianto cared.
Jack locked the car and stood beside Ianto. "Ready to go in?"
Ianto lead Jack up to his apartment, neither of them talked but they didn't mind the silence. He hoped that Jack wouldn't mind too much if he fell asleep before he could start dinner. The walk didn't take long but somehow felt like it did to Ianto.
"Sorry for the mess," Ianto said when he turned on the light. He locked the door. "I've been very busy."
"Don't worry about it. Just go, shower, change into some pajamas and I'll have dinner ready when you finish."
Ianto nearly retorted that pajamas didn't sound that romantic but he wasn't really up for anything anyway. Maybe they could do something in the morning if he didn't end up sleeping through New Year's. Ianto wasted no time in getting to the bathroom and stripping off his clothes. He tossed his suit into the trash without a second thought. He started scrubbing off all of the layers of mud and grime as soon as he could. The water was cold but he didn't have the energy to care. When he stepped out he gave no thought to the scratches and bruises on his body, some where from earlier and others were caused from him scrubbing too hard.
Jack had chicken and mashed potatoes ready when Ianto came into the kitchen wearing pajamas. Jack looked very tired himself and Ianto wondered how he hadn't noticed it before. Ianto's stomach grumbled, apparently he wasn't too tired to be hungry after all.
"Merry Christmas sir," Ianto said. "Although I have the feeling that its already the next day."
"We're sleeping in tomorrow. Boss's orders." Ianto tried to give Jack a smile and ended up yawning.
"What about the others?"
"They can handle themselves hours without us. Maybe even a day without us."
"That does sound nice." Some time ago Ianto never would have believed that Jack would want to spend an entire day with him. A night, maybe even if the next morning but not the whole day.
Later Jack stripped down to his boxers and curled himself around Ianto. Ianto's bed wasn't as tight of a squeeze as Jack's and Ianto thought that they should spend more nights there. Jack kissed Ianto's forehead before they both fell asleep.
